Pleasant time spent in this very charming restaurant, friendly atmosphere, excellent cuisine, I highly recommend and I will return there as soon as I have the opportunity; Moreover, the neighborhood is very pleasant.
We turned up, with our two dogs, at 7.30 on a Thursday eve. One table was free and the staff very kindly asked the dog owning diners already on the adjacent tables if their dogs would be ok with ours next to them, really nice touch.
Thankfully, fellow dog owners were happy to have us sit among them.
So, service: really good 👍
Ambience: We were sitting in close proximity to other dog owners so we had a lovely time 😊👍
Food: honestly, starters were great but mains were absolutely to die for! He had the fillet steak, he's a trained chef and a bit of o steak expert... said it was the best steak he's ever eaten 😊 Fish pie for me, oh my, absolutely delicious 😋
I'd definitely recommend eating here 👍
Pizza was very good and reasonably priced. Can't ask for much more. Full service bar/wine service. Lots of varieties of toppings: pineapple, pepperoni, peppers, even haggis I think! Much better food than the hotel.
Lovely country pub. We were going to book this for dinner but booked sister restaurant Armstrongs for high tea instead. Anyway came across the pub when out for a run and stopped for a light lunch. I had the soup which was very good. My wife had a chicken goujon starter which was also very good. The soup was moderately priced but chicken was expensive I thought at £9.50 just for some chicken strips with a dip but it was very good.
This is a lovely country pub. It is fairly expensive but I knew that. Not an everyday place to eat but great for a special occassion.
We stopped here for lunch in March. They had only been open for a day this season, but offered almost a full menu. We had the smoked mackerel chowder, which was perfect for lunch, and my sister & her partner shared the small mixed platter. The server had said the small platter might not be enough for 2 people, but it definitely was.
The interior is clean and nicely decorated.
Just got a take away from Apricot and it was terrible. Ordered a South Indian with King Prawn and it was like soup. No spice whatsoever. And the prawns were minuscule. The worst Indian meal I have ever had. Used to use Apricot all the time. Not been for a while and I will never be back. A waste of money.
Gran comida casera ( realmente delicioso ) , ambiente divertido y personal fabuloso. Y super ubicación en un parque. Uno de esos lugares que sienten como los propietarios realmente aman el negocio de la hospitalidad. No puedo esperar a volver
Excellent wee pub. Experience absolutely enhanced by outside seating in glorious weather. Great beer choices. Had a terrific toasties and fries from light bites menu.
Highly recommend.
