Abbiamo cenato e pernottato per 2 sere in questo locale . Atmosfera molto bella e curata . Servizio veloce e cortese . I piatti potrebbero essere un po' piu' elaborati , invece ci si ritrova sempre con lo stesso piatto nazionale ( fish&chips ) . Molto belle ed impeccabili le stanze .

Esto fue recomendado por un lugareño, ya que queríamos un lugar al que pudiéramos caminar. El servicio fue de primera categoría, la comida sublime, el ambiente tranquilo y cálido. Compartimos el aperitivo de hombro de cordero que era salado y bien equilibrado. Hubs tiene el vientre de cerdo y yo las vieiras. El vientre de cerdo desapareció sin que me ofreciera sabor... Se combinó con verduras muy bien cocinadas. Las vieiras estaban a la perfección en una salsa ligera de ajo de vino y, por supuesto, venían con una ensalada en plato y papas fritas. Ojalá pudiera comer allí mañana. ¡No te quedes sin reserva, solo sientan lo que pueden servir bien! 👍

Ambiente fresco en un almacén convertido. El servicio era bueno. La comida era muy buena. Tenía las vieiras de las Orcadas. Parecían frescas y buenas, pero no tan deliciosas como algunas preparaciones de vieiras que me han encantado. Mi hija tenía un mojito simulado que no parecía tener todos los ingredientes o quizás no en las proporciones correctas. Tenía un negroni que era bueno. Para nosotros era una buena comida, pero con algunos detalles sobre la comida y bebida mejorada habría subido a cinco estrellas.

We had dinner there twice during our stay in Kirkwall. The food was superb both times. The venue and the service were excellent. Highly recommended.

What an absolutely amazing dining experience we've just had here. All the staff were so friendly and welcoming. We will certainly be back here and thoroughly recommend dining here

We had a nice meal here. It’s central in Kirkwall. we had scallops to start, they were excellent. I had the sea bass special, very nicely crisped. Partner had gluten free battered haddock and chips. The chips not quite fully cooked we felt. I had a beer from the local scapa brewery. Modern vibe, restored sensitively inside. Very good place and mixed crowd.

A real find in Kirkwall and do book ahead. Stunning conversation of an old building to complement the local cuisine beautifully cooked. All served by attentive staff with a smile. Will be back!

We were very happy with our experience at the Storehouse. It’s a very nicely appointed dining area and suited us as there was an area where we could have our meal with our dog. The meal was very good with an excellent steak and good service. One small negative- the accompanying vegetables (carrots etc) very overdone. No beer on draught but nice wine. Recommend and would return

Unusual building, good atmosphere, you can see the food being cooked, Good selection of food and drink. Attentive staff.

We dined at the Storehouse on a Saturday night and the place was hopping. Fortunately, we had booked a table and were seated near the entrance. You can tell a lot of thought went into updating this old building for its new purpose as a restaurant. They did a good job incorporating the original elements into the design. We shared the torched mackerel starter but were disappointed in the taste. We both ordered the hand-dived scallops entree and found it to be a delicious dish. Didn't do dessert. You won't go wrong eating here while in Kirkwall.

Absolutely excellent. Food was delicious, staff friendly and great menu choice without being overwhelming. Atmosphere is modern and comfortable. Use of local produce a bonus. We ate here two nights in a row. Highly recommend.

Das Essen war sehr lecker und das Restaurant hat ein tolles Ambiente. Sehr zu empfehlen. Die Jakobsmuscheln und der Rochen waren super und alles sehr gut präsentiert. Es gibt auch ein Kindermenu, wenn dieses auch limitiert ist wie fast überall in Schottland (Fish&chips, chicken strips&chips sausage&chips). Beim Wein-Servieren müssen sie noch etwas üben. Die Weinflasche wurde einfach auf den Tisch gestellt - kein Probieren usw. ist für ein Restaurant dieser Klasse eher verbesserungswürdig

The food is excellent. MUST reserve. Even if the restaurant is only half full, are they fully booked? The young staff is very friendly and helpful.

I eat out a lot, and have worked in the speciality food sector. This was one of the two best restaurant meals I have had in 30 years. Absolutely exquisite - if you are in Orkney go - you won’t be disappointed!

Visited for a family dinner whilst on a trip to revisit memories from the years we lived here. We wanted a nice dinner with delicious local produce and this absolutely hit the mark. Great remarks from our table on the scallops, the steaks and skate in particular. Wonderful setting, very organised and prompt, friendly service. Would recommend for anyone looking for some delicious local produce in Kirkwall.

Had a meal here on Friday night, the food and service were excellent. Waiting staff were attentive but not intrusive. Kept our cocktail glasses full and were knowledgeable of their menu. I had the beef to start and then the lamb, both were really tasty, and the vegetables were absolutely delicious, it's not often a busy kitchen gets veg just right, but these guys did. My partner had the mackerel to start, very flavoursome, and then the steak. To me, the menu showed experience in the kitchen, and it was well executed. We will be back.

Excellent accommodation and superb food. If you are on Orkney I would highly recommend you stay and eat here every time.

A central Kirkwall restaurant which served good food and cocktails. It was a bit noisy for me.

We stayed in the delightful Storehouse Restaurant and rooms for 4 nights in April 2024. The room was beautifully decorated with a large bathroom (Bath and Rainfall shower). Great amenities including lots of Tea / Coffee and shortbread biscuits. The Bar / Restaurant area was cosy and warm with a fine selection of local Gins and Whisky's. The Food was superb - Try the local scallops. By far the crowning glory of this Restaurant / Hotel is the staff - Nothing was too much trouble. The staff are so good they are almost like Friends who are taking care of you. Far and away the best Hotel / Restautant in the Orkneys

Chosen for our work Xmas night meal out. Menu looked good. Shame the food wasn't. Overpriced for what you get. Menu looked enticing and catering for all tastes. Dare I say 3 pieces of roasted squash does not constitute a meal! Shame as the restaurant looks lovely. That was my second visit since it opened, I now remember why!

Good place for an evening meal.

Had a last minute meal here, was so pleasantly surprised by the flavours and quality of food. Inventive combinations, fresh and perfectly cooked. Let down only by the coffee which was weak and lacking in flavour.

Had a meal here yesterday evening. The venue is fantastic, looks great and very comfortable. I had smoked haddock scoth egg for starter which was incredible ans started the evening off really well, for a main I had the steak and although it was cooked correctly (medium/rare) it was heavily seared and had a strong taste of burnt meat which was dissapointing, finished off with a very good cheeseboard... Our meal did feal a little rushed but the staff were very friendly and polite
