I love this place. The coffee and cakes were perfect and so reasonably priced. The staff were friendly and I can't wait to return. Don't expect 5 star luxury just plain and simple.

Very friendly and quick service. Dropped in for a quick cuppa and pastry..Nice to be offered the choice of a mug or cup. I have arthritic hands and find cups very difficult to hold. Good selection of snacks and a lot of deals on offer. Prices were excellent. 👍

We visited on Tues 26th. We arrived just before 3pm. We were asked if we wanted our teacake warm or cold as man was putting oven off!! Cupcake Coffee Box closes at 4 but already a lady was hoovering and "cleaning" the toilets. The man put the hoover off but she asked us if she could continue as she only had a small area to hoover. Not so!! We used the toilet which was soiled/dirty. Not an enjoyable experience and we WON'T BE BACK.

Visited late Sunday afternoon for a cake & coffee. Welcoming staff & an interestingly diverse selection of customers. Very convenient for a visit to the McManus Museum, with parking to hand & easy access from street. Shall return on a future occasion.

I was just passing this establishment & was appalled at the way a member of staff handled a student who'd given a seagull the crust of her sandwich, I understand feeding the gulls can cause problems but, a quite word would have sufficient. A tirade of profanity was completely unexpected to the point, the girl on the receiving end of the abuse didn't realise he was addressing her. I have to wonder if he'd been as vocal if it had been a male customer. Nobody needs to witness that kind of behaviour from businesses in 2023.

This is a good local business. The site is in the old Macdonald's that closed several years ago. The original decor created an interesting boho vibe with distressed furniture, etc... This was a revelation in Kirkcaldy... however, other business' have since upped their game. There has been a recent updating to the decor, which is clean and bright... however, to my mind, it has lost some of the "cool" that made it interesting. The food and service are still excellent, and now it seems popular with the young Mums fraternity.

Very friendly place to enjoy your coffee. Their drinks are nice and hood quality ( we ordered cappuccino and hot chocolate and Americano) and both times we were satisfied. The owners of the coffee shop are so polite, friendly and kind. Highly recommended.

Down at the coffee box this morning and had the wee man with me , ordered 3 cups of coffee which was a bit of a handful , but not to worry Jason was on hand to help us out the car! The wee man’s favourite place, obsessed with coffee cups bcos of his mammy! 😃

It is a good place to grab a coffee, quite cheap compared to prices of local stores selling coffee, welcoming workers and honestly so close to hitting 5 stars the only issues I find is it seems to be missing something it's quite dim relying on ambient lighting from the weather, chilly as doors always open, I think the best way to describe it is that it's not very homely?

Nice wee place to sit and have a coffee. The lattes that we got were hot and tasted good. The slice of millionaire shortcake was nice.

Dropped in for some lunch whilst shopping in the High St. Not a great experience, we ordered 2 chicken tikka toasties, a cuppucino and a small pot of tea. When the toasties came they were covered in melted cheese which we didn't ask for (and I don't understand why on earth you would want to put melted cheese with chicken tikka to be honest). I ended up going hungry as I don't eat cheese; OH ate his as he was hungry but commented it was soggy and not very nice. He was asked if he wanted chocolate sprinkled on his cappucino, he thought the counter assistant had dumped almost the entire contents of the shaker on it. My tea was a tiny pot which came with a massive mug and was very weak. I didn't think the place was all that clean looking, the serving area floor tiles needed a good wipe. Very disappointing as we are based overseas and were back in Kirkcaldy on the first visit in 2 years due to the pandeminc situation. I have also noted the arrogant tone of the owner when replying to a less than glowing review, so I wouldn't bother visiting again. I believe it cost my husband over £13.

Was not overly impressed with the coffee or food. The staff were friendly and the chairs comfortable though.

I went into ccb this morning & started to queue, 1 person in front of me being served. There was a member of staff, not in uniform but her outdoor clothes with no mask. She was badmouthing others at quite a loud level, inc. swearing. Absolutely shocking behaviour in a customer environment. I left the queue & won't be back ☹️

went for a coffe last sunday(17/10/2021) at haf past 3(so was still definitely open the business,when approached the owner was not really happy,when i ask about that wish have a cappuccino ,he basically moaned at loud voice " WHY PEOPLE ARE TO ARRIVED SO LATE" was shocked and extremely upset,the coffe was basically rubbish ,not worth it a £2.70,not even a a £1,this place used to be top place in kirkcaldy,going down terribly,awfull attitude from the owner,less than average coffe,if you dont car anymore ,just close th business

Lovely family run business with lots of activity nights

Went for a visit on Tuesday 24th August with family. The staff were so lovely and friendly. Very attentive and made sure our son had his little jug of milk with his hot chocolate to cool it down (son so happy). All had nice rolls with egg, sausage and cheese. Went down well. Hot chocolate so tasty. Thank you for the excellent service, staff are second to none.

Every time I come to Kirkcaldy to see the grandchildren this is the coffee shop I have to visit. It's too nice not to.

We used to always come here but after over a year this was the first visit after lockdown, I had one bite of a sandwich and left the rest the meat was a questionable colour but wouldn’t have tasted it anyway for the amount of wholegrain mustard on it, my husband had a flatbread but was really disappointed with that as well as a very dry muffin that even our toddler spat out, coffee was nice. Such a shame as it was once a credit to the high street.

Coffee was lovely but baguette was half cooked and soggy, next time hope I can have it toasted but wish I was asked when ordered. Still nice place to eat in.

I met a friend for coffee who is also coeliac and we’ve both been ill after having the gluten free carrot cake. The coffee was lovely but I’ve now been made aware they can’t guarantee no cross-contamination for their gluten free options.

Don’t live anywhere near fife but wanted to give the 5 stars to say well done and what a fantastic thing to have given that lovely elderly man a job working in your cafe !!!! Keep up your good work !!!!

Popped in this morning for coffee. Very grubby exterior. Debris on every table in the smoking area, one ashtray, and the ground clearly not been swept from the previous day.

I met a friend for a coffee here....firstly my friend had to clean the table after asking a member of staff to take away the last customers empty mug....I thought maybe it was the staffs job to clean the tables??? I also used the toilet which was not very clean, and was not cleaned between use! I know this coffee shop is usually quite busy but to be honest if you do not have enough staff to tidy tables between use you maybe need to hire more staff.

Firstly, I'm generally reluctant to write negative reviews without a good reason, however, having visited the Coffee Box today, in the midst of Covid restrictions, I feel concerned enough to comment. I've been to several other cafes on Kirkcaldy High Street recently and been impressed by their organisation and cleanliness in response to the pandemic. Sadly, not so the Coffee Box. The cafe was initially very busy but staff were paying no attention to customers coming in. Tables were not being cleared or cleaned regularly, therefore customers were sitting at tables which still had the last person's dirty dishes. I had to ask for cups to be taken but the waitress didn't return to clean the table - we eventually found cloths and did it ourselves. To be honest, the whole place looked a bit grubby. The staff were friendly enough but there didn't seem to be enough of them to manage. Can I suggest if you're short-staffed, limit the number of customers coming in? No-one took any contact details while we were there either. They have a keypad entry to the one available toilet but clearly no-one was checking it because it was filthy. The coffee was nice! I would suggest, now that there is a good choice of cafes in the town centre, if you want to feel safe and protected at the moment, try somewhere else.

Usually meet my sister here most weeks. We enjoy sitting outside and watching the world go by whilst enjoying our toastie or fudge doughnut with tea or coffee. Service is pleasant and tables kept clean. No complaints on charges compared to others nearby.

Went here for lunch, very good and reasonably priced, soup is very good when they have any left as its very popular.

My husband and I have been going to cupcake since it opened after lock down we try and go every day for coffee. We had been for a walk on Friday 24th July and noticed that the cupcake was still open we had coffee and then noticed that they sold alcohol. I had a prosecco and my husband had a glass if red wine. It was lovely like being abroad. The young guys Ross and Brandon make you feel so welcome and nothing to much bother. We will be going back to have a drink again and also see Mike the owner for coffee best coffee in kirkcaldy and the most welcoming and friendly coffee shop. Thanks guys

Had a coffee and my friend had a pot of tea, really expensive My friend requested some hot water to fill her teapot up she was charged £1 ! We also noticed a pack of toilet roll labelled £49.99, this was apparently used for a post on Facebook We won’t be back Especially as we posted a review a while back about being charged £2 for hot water refill, the owner Said to inform the server it was a top up and we would get it free , but we were still charged

I’m a big fan of Cupcake Coffee Box as one of the nicest and most reasonably priced coffee shops in town. Sadly due to the parking problem in Kirkcaldy I don’t get here as often as I might. The owners are the nicest people you could meet and the food and coffees are delicious. What more could you want? Oh yes, the chairs are also comfortable and the service is always great. It’s very clear what is in all their foods if you have specific requirements. It’s a lovely place to go and spend time, or grab a coffee to go. I don’t commute any more but when I did I really enjoyed the kiosk at the station. Cupcake Coffee Box is a very welcome addition to Kirkcaldy. Last night I attended a wine and cheese evening and I simply can’t recommend this enough. Gorgeous wines, fabulous service and a very enjoyable evening. For the first time in my life ever, I was given a cheese platter that had enough biscuits for the amount of cheese, bravo. I’ll be back for the next one for sure.

I have become a regular here simply because of the great food and the amazing staff. I try to get my usual seat and listen to the young polite excellent staff indeed all the staff. Our young sometimes get the finger pointed at them these days by some of the older generation. But these people are just excellent how they go about their duties and yes love their banter thoroughly recommend it to anyone looking for I say perfection Cafe.

Stopped off at Kirkcaldy during our trip around Fife and after a quick visit into the town centre we popped into Cupcake Coffee Box for something to eat. 2 tuna melt toasties and 2 bowls of minestrone soup, all great and quite delicious. The price was very good also. We would recommend a visit to anyone.

Just visited here today with the hubby, pat of tea and a latte, had a lemon square and an apple scone, only negative was my scone was under cooked where the apple was placed on top, a bit doughy, everything else was good, just need to make sure cooked all the way through.

This is the first time I visited Cupcake Coffee Box. I did not take coffee opting for a mug of strong tea. I did take an apple shortcake which proved to be a pleasant surprise. Service came with a smile and the other patrons all seemed locals. I liked the friendly atmosphere.

Brilliant place. Came up from Falkirk for a bit of shopping. This cafe made it all worth while. Had delicious cauli and spinach soup and the best cheese and caramelised toastie I've ever had, all washed down with a big mug of latte.

In Kirkcaldy far to early for the shops so dropped in for a latte and cake . Nice selection and a nice morning menu place was quite busy for 8.45 in the morning . hey do a nice range of waffles ,crepes and ice cream . Service if friendly and fast with plenty of seating

The cupcake is nice place to sit outside on a sunny day with a flat white coffee and a newspaper.I also meet friends there on the high street and catch up on the local gossip.

Had a late impromptu lunch here last weekend with my mum and sister. We were just passing and decided to pop in for some soup. The soup was delicious and we all had a sandwich or toastie to accompany it - would highly recommend the cheese and caramelised onion toastie! We all had hot drinks too and it was very reasonably priced. Staff were very friendly and efficient. On a separate but related note I also went to one of their evening events earlier in the year and LOVED it. Will definitely be back!

This is a lovely place..there are 3 different places you can sit ..one is like an American diner and also seats outside ...great for when the sun is out ..hahah ...they have lots to choose from ..also you can have a take away as well ..the staff are lovely and very helpful ..well worth a visit ..it's situated almost at the end of the pedestrian percent on the High Street ...

Good in parts. Nice atmosphere. Friendly staff who make effort to provide something a bit better than elsewhere. Let down by Purple WiFi which keeps on dropping and is a pain to get reconnected. They should change supplier. I also found that they use tinned food. I asked what kind of Thai soup they had. Staff didn't know that there is more than one type of Thai soup. Sad that they don't seem to take an interest in what they offer. Soup is soup. A car is a car. Why bother about which kind of car or kind of soup.

The good feeling you get from all the staff plus the service is 1st class plus Simon's cakes are to die for

I dont go to these places very often so when i do i seem to be disappointed in what i get, the kirkcaldy shop missed the mark.
