OMG yes I highly recommend this eatery. I think I ate dinner here 4+ times out of the week. The employees were friendly and attentive.
I tried different items off the menu, but I must admit I always went back to the pizza. That dough and the way they hand make it were stupendous.
They also offer gluten-free penne and spaghetti.
Great location and the prices were reasonable, hence the multiple trips there.
Oh oh they make their own beer, I had multiple Hopo Lagers. I believe they have 4 that they craft.
Great choice for lunch or dinner. You can join their rewards program too and receive discounts, just mention it to the servers and they will adjust the bill.
Only good part of the experience was the food. Burgers were great as usual, but service was shocking. When we looked around, every single table was sat with empty plates waiting to be taken away, despite it being quiet with a reasonable amount of staff on. No one came to check on us after we got our food, and when we were finished, we wanted desserts but eventually gave up as clearly no one was coming, and all staff looked disinterested in helping. We didn’t feel a tip was necessary for the service, and when the waitress saw we didn’t tip, she gained a cheeky tone. Would not recommend.
petit restaurant typique , jolie salle sympathique mais environnement surprenant
cuisine traditionnelle de qualité
service très sympa
portion correcte
large choix de plats

We had three different gins. Unfortunately, the first one we chose didn't exist. However, we received a recommendation for a similar gin. The gins come to the table on ice so that the tonic water can be dosed yourself. For each gin there is a recommendation of a tonic water and different garnishes. Mainly gins from the UK are on offer, but also one or two from outside the island. We also had a “butter bread” and tortillas with cheese dip. Both are highly recommended in terms of taste and attractively arranged.
The atmosphere of the bar is unique and very cozy.
We were very lucky to turn up and get a table as this place was almost fully booked. It has an interesting menu and the food is very tasty and well presented. It was just what we needed after the walk to the beautiful beach.
We were there for breakfast and it was very tasty 😍 The combo with French toast and bacon was something new and was surprisingly good. We'd love to come back 😍

nice cozy pub with an affordable 3 course lunch from 4£. i recommend getting the scotch pie. also, the lady that served us was so nice and welcoming :)
We regularly have breaks in Cowal and have been going to the Oystercatcher for years as we love the location. Having just recently re-opened we decided to give it a try for dinner, and were not disappointed. Good selection of dishes with a focus on fish and local ingredients - we selected oysters and seafood tagliatelle which were both excellent. Reasonably priced given its location. Would thoroughly recommend and wish the new owners/managers every success.
