Lovely friendly landlady and staff very welcoming

We popped in for a couple before a meal in town. It's a traditional small pub with a great feel to it and lovely bar staff. The surprise/gem Is what they have done with the outside area. Big marquee, outside bar, entertainment area and plenty of seating with under cover and open air. Cracking venue and apparently the outside area is available to hire for special occasions including catering. They have now re -vamped the toilets so much better. Still not tried the food, but it looks good.

Visited with friends and ordered a pesto and olive Pizza, it was lovely, but also had sundried tomatoes and capers on it which I was not expecting! Would be great if all the ingredients that are going to be on the pizza were listed? Could do with some salads on the menu and a bit mire variety, otyerwise a lovely and friendly place to visit.

I'm only giving a 4 star on food because they don't offer a xtra xtra large carvery with loads of meat lol jokes aside the food is really nice price is reasonable and staff are friendly 👌

I’ve dined at this authentic Japanese restaurant multiple times, and each visit has been a memorable experience. Every dish is crafted with care and precision, and the flavors are consistently exceptional. The salmon sashimi is particularly delicious, with fresh, high-quality ingredients that stand out. The Tsukemono-salmon sashimi , seasoned with Beetroot, is another must-try—it’s a unique and flavorful choice that I highly recommend. The seasonal menu changes add a nice variety. During my recent visit, I tried the sashimi, which was incredibly fresh and cut into perfect, bite-sized portions—just right for savoring. The mix seafood tempura also a must try option. The staff here are wonderful, always friendly and patient. Despite a few clumsy moments when I dropped my chopsticks, they were quick to help and made me feel welcome and comfortable. Overall, my dining experiences here have been fantastic. Both the food quality and service are outstanding. I highly recommend this restaurant to anyone in Portsmouth, whether you’re a local or just visiting—it’s definitely worth a stop! I will come back again !!!

After 3 weeks of travel a big breakfast was what we needed. If you are after fine dining then this place isn't for you. For those wanting a big breakfast at a good price with a great coffee you cant go wrong!

Great restaurant, brings a different atmosphere to wombourne. Both the owner and the host were lovely and seemed to genuinely enjoy being there, the food was amazing and fresh (you could tell it was made with passion).

Staff were very welcoming, room was clean and comfortable ,bathroom with walk in shower and bath. Cooked breakfast was gorgeous and we have been served by Ivana ,she looked after us all morning
