The food was absolutely incredible for the price. Much better than your average pub grub! The Barman was lovely and funny. The only tiny downside was the serving staff looked uninterested and didn't really interact with us at all!

Went there with high expectation but left disappointed Food was ok. Veggies not fresh but defrosted They forgot to bring chips with one of the meals which we hadn’t noticed. Mentioned it to the staff and it turns out it was our fault. Turns out the member of staff didn’t have a clue what was actually on the menu. Another thing was that one of the servers had a habit of chewing her nails in view of customers which isn’t the most hygienic Spoke to the guy working behind the bar after being asked how it was, but don’t think he was was too bothered about the issues

The weather was atrocious but we headed for the Humber Tavern at Paul for some nosh. We were blown through the door and into the tavern and immediately had a friendly greeting from one of the staff. We were a group of 4 adults and a little dog. We managed to be lucky enough to be seated in the window area of the dog friendly section and could see people being blown around outside. The pub was quiet and a little cold at first, but soon warmed up. We had the choice of a variety of meals, varying from fish and chips, beef and mushroom pie to sizzling platters of chicken or beef and even halloumi, and other delicious looking meals We chose three lot's of fish and chips, and one beef and mushroom pie, this comes with veg or chips. The fish and chips were outstanding; in the cooking, the quality and the taste. (Best I've had for a long time.) The beef and mushroom pie came with peas, chips or vegetables. Chips were chosen and was equally succulent and delicious. The topping to the pie was like a giant suet dumpling. We squeezed in a pudding as well, and chose a summer fruit crumble all round, with custard. It was delicious. Other lovely looking sweets were also available fruit sponges etc. The cost came to around £20 a head including drinks. (2 Guinness, 2 Lemonades, 1 Tea) We were very pleased with the food and the extremely friendly staff. We will be calling in again. Great value for money.

Food was hot and delicious served on hot plates. Which is unusual in these times. Everything about the Sunday dinner was home made and the atmosphere was spot on . Will be going again definitely, Mark's out of 10 I will give it 50 . Please never change landlord.

Really good home cooked food, between us we had the fish and chips, Braised steak with mash and veg, and the steak and mushroom suet pie which was delicious, lovely light suet topping. The Braised steak was melt in the mouth, all generous portions, we struggled to finish! Good Specials board too as well as the usual menu. The apple crumble was gorgeous, the topping was buttery and crunchy. We will be back!

The service was excellent - all main courses came out together so no one had to wait. Everyone throughly enjoyed the ample portions of well cooked food. We all agreed that we will definitely be going more regularly. The staff were all great and the cost very reasonable.

This is an unassuming place. But wait till you go in. There's on-road parking, and it's located at the end of the street just at the bend. It had outside seating as well overlooking the Humber River. Inside it very quaint, with pictures and usual pub decor. Several large screens are showing sport, and thoughtfully, the volume is off. Background music was playing, and everyone was cheerful. Now, the best bit was the food. There's a small menue and specials board. This means that what they do, they do extremely well. So three of us visited my wife & I plus her daughter. Kim had the Thai salmon, wife & I the roast dinner. A medium and large. Well, when it turned up, we were surprised at the size. They were huge. There is a choice of three meats, and we both had beef. The cuts of meat were very large and thick. Cooked beautifully. Tender and soft. We got a bowl of veg, then another. The roast potatoes were proper, not steamed. A proper Yorkshire pudding, lashings of thick meaty gravy. The daughter had peas and rice plus a salad with her salmon and thoroughly enjoyed it. We had so much food that we had to leave a bit. Next time, we will order a small and a medium instead. Fantastic food, the staff also are great as is the owner, Trev. What a great guy. They have some very nice wine, ciders including a blood orange one which was nice and a couple of Ales on tap. Lots of people were eating and our neighbours go all the time. Testament to the quality (they all have large and puddings). We've had roast dinners in lots of laces, the Railway Inn, Hornsea garden centre, etc, and for the quality, quantity, and price, this place can't be beaten. A shout out to Trev's daughter and her wife, who are the cooks. Absolutely fantastic ladies. We will be back. Oh, there's lots of seating in the main bar area and a large side room, and they cater for groups too.

Been a few times for a meal and the food and service has been excellent, so as a treat me and mum decided to go today. Mum had her usual fish and chips, but instead of what i usual order from Humber Tarverns menu I decided to have something different from the menu. I ordered Chicken Sizzler in sweet chilli sauce along the optio, half chips, half rice. I was so looking forward to it. A member of staff brought it out and it wasn't so much of a sizzler but a cloud of smoke coming from it, it was that bad even the member of staff had to step back as the smoke was going in her face. It smelt as though it was burning so I quickly spooned the food off the cast iron dish onto my plate, but I couldn't take it all off as half had burnt onto the dish. I didn't want to complain so I tried to eat it while picking out all the burnt meat and veg off, I got so far through and I couldn't stand the taste or smell of it anymore. When a staff member came back to the restaurant I explained that the food was burnt and although I tried to eat it I couldn't stand the taste or smell anymore. Her response was well it is a sizzler. I explained that I've had sizzlers exactly like this before and they've never arrived burnt, she said she'd speak to them in the kitchen. Her next response was that it was because of the sweet chilli sauce that it burnt. Again I told her I've had this meal before a number of times at different places and it's never come out to the table burnt. She just didn't want to know. I wasn't looking for a refund, I just wanted it replacing and an apology but didn't get either. So we asked for the bill, we did get asked if we wanted pudding though, the answer was NO. We paid and left very disappointed and me still hungry.

The Humber Tavern is a 16th century former bass Charrington pub. It has a good range of beers including two hand pulled cask conditioned real ales. There is a large bar with a dart board, and a separate room set out for dining. The pub has been altered over the years it was a few small cosy rooms now just two large rooms, the bar is dog friendly. There is a large outside seating area with panoramic views over the Humber. It's a nice pub worth a visit

I would suggest to leave room for dessert the warm chocolate fudge cake with ice cream is delicious 😋 and its all with good service. The only downside is if your going for Sunday lunch then book a table early as its so popular they runout especially the Beef.

If they put their prices online I would have not visited. An Americano and a ham and cheese toastie nearly twelve pounds! For that price I am used to choosing what type of bread it comes with? Sourdough or granary etc but it came on some bread that was just meh, a small handful of crisps and a rocket salad. Nothing special, the coffee was very weak IMO and tasted rather drip coffee. The cakes did look delicious but again the prices were astronomical. Perhaps they’re specialists and cater to a niche market? If you’re planing to go with two or three friends expect to part with fifty to sixty pounds for a coffee and/ or cake or toastie. I didn’t notice how much the jacket potatoes were but I’ll have a guess they’re not reasonably priced.
