We visit The Old Wharf a lot so time to give a great review which starts with the lovely lovely staff. Always beautifully looked after by all of them. Today one of our family was delayed in joining us, so we asked if his hot meal could be taken back inside as we were outside. No problem at all and when my son arrived and went to fetch it - they warmed it up for him without him asking. Lovely lunch, great coffees and we shared a ‘treat’. So glad to enjoy our walks and The Old Wharf tearooms too. Thank you everyone x

We often frequent this cafe & have recommended it on numerous occasions, but that stops now. Today we arrived at 3:53 having treated an 80 year old aunt to a lovely meal at a nearby restaurant. We declined the dessert course in favour of takeaway cake from the Old Wharf. As I approached the counter a member of staff said we’re closed. I replied what even for takeaway pointing at the cake I wished to buy. We stop serving at 3:45 was his response. According to the website the kitchen closes at 3:15 & the last drinks order is 3:45. We just wanted £20 worth of takeaway cake which, by the way was still on display.

Great selection of cakes but little for diabetics. I would have a cheese scone, but without the chives or caramelised onion, what is wrong with a plain cheese scone? We will just have tea and then move on to another cafe.

A great spot for a quiet stop off in the heart of the Belvoir valley. A decent attraction for the village of Hickling with the canal right on the door step and licensed fishing spots. The food looked so nice and tasted even better. We only got round to having coffee and cakes but we found there to be a really good choice. The blueberry muffin tasted like the Costco ones but I’ll let them off because the Crunchie slice was pretty nice We will be visiting again!

Delicious, charming, tasty & relaxed waterside dining. Popped in for a late breakfast on a summer Sunday morning after a lovely stroll along the canal. This place is a total gem and deserves its many plaudits and fine reviews. We opted for a veggie and non-veggie breakfast – which were both stunning and swiftly served. Hard to pick out a highlight as all the components were cooked to perfection and delicious (although I think the eggs were especially perfect!). Drinks were good too – an exceptional range, and special praise here for the mocha coffee which was easily among the best I’ve ever had. Top this with fast, efficient and friendly service and you’re onto a winning combination. All this plus an amazing wharf-side view of the all the wildlife, and a range of uncovered, covered and indoor seating to choose from – what’s not to love?! Thanks to the whole team for a great brunch experience – we shall certainly be back!

Our first visit, recommended by one of my colleague. We stopped for a breakfast. Great location of the tearooms as along the Grantham Canal, perfect stop if you walk or bicycle along the canal. There are plenty seats and table outside where you can enjoy nice views and greedy ducks may keep you company so be careful. If may be busy so make sure there is a table available before ordering. More table available upstairs. Great choice of breakfast and lunch, cold and hot drinks, ice creams and yummi home made cakes, scones and muffins. The staff were very attentive, friendly and helpful. Our breakfast was served within 10 minutes max. Great coffee! The meals were presented in nice way, good one and the portions were decent. I missed a little bit of flavour in smashed avocado, bacon was OK. The bread, sausages and tomatoes were really good. So the food was correct, I missed a little bit of taste twist. The inside decor is nice, and cosy, very clean. Toiles are located outside. What I really like about the place is the wall pictures by local artists you can buy. I am still giving 5 starts with a credit for delicious-looking cakes I am going to try next time as I will definitely be back.

Good quality offerings, but not so good value for money. Over a number of visits the food and drink has been consistently good quality. I understand that rural businesses have higher costs, but the 75p extra charge for oat /soya milk in your drink are bordering on the extortionate. I would hope that this policy can be reconsidered, as does not seem justifiable in this current era of lost cost, widely available plant based alternatives. The outdoor covered area is enlightened addition and well used by patrons.

expensive yesterday , over £20 for two lattes and two baps. the latte was a tad weak and the baps were dry, no salad nor anything else on the side. I feel there may have been a MISTAKE on the charging, for such a nice place a little more presentation with a few bits of salad and less cheese would make things much better. Perhaps some mayonnaise would help?

Wonderful gem discovered on a bleak day after a damp, cold canal walk. Log burner roaring and warmed us through nicely. Quaint restored old building. Very Quirky and charmingly refurbished. Value for money food with excellent choices. We were advised all products are locally sourced wherever possible and the bread is collected daily (still warm) from a local independent family bakery. Staff very welcoming and attentive. Rarity these days! Certainly on our list to visit again with the family

Beautiful place , great service. I had a bacon cob, a few weeks ago, and the cob was dry, only 2 slices of bacon, the bacon was over cooked, and I was charged £5.50 , I am really sorry but I was very disappointed. The same happened again today, the cob wasn't as dry, but it wasn't a fresh cob I think you are over charging, for what size the cob was.

It does state on their website that it closes at 4pm, so after travelling 20 miles and arriving at 3.46pm to be told last orders were at 3.45pm you can image we were not at all pleased. No sign that they were even a little bit remorseful. Clearly they have enough custom without ours. I wonder how they’ll feel when the days get colder and only a handful of people turn out in the winter months. Never mind we went across to The Plough and were greeted by a warm and friendly landlady who was more than happy to provide us with tea. It will be a long time before we choose to visit The Old Wharf again. There’s a lovely chocolate Tea Shop, Sarsfield's Chocolaterie just down the road that we’ll be visiting instead. P.S. I appreciate your reply but 3.46pm one minute late? Please!!! Have a heart 🤷♀️
