Star Inn in Rushcliffe

An extremely busy little village pub. Full of atmosphere. Clientele of all ages. Darts match going off at the time but had a really nice time.

I visited today I had a drink would of had food but they didn't serve food in till 5pm

This was a great experience I was visiting with my family, we stopped to eat something, the guys on this pup are so lovely, helpful I felt very welcome here, I would definitely advise The food is great, we had a set menu of 3 dishes Start, main and dessert. It is a must visit if you are around

A really friendly atmosphere service good food good

Above average pub food and good value. Limited menu, but the presentation and quality was excellent. We were a party of 8, including two small children. The belly pork and beef hotpot were particularly good. A mistake in the order was dealt with very generously - no charge for the meal and a compensatory drink! Very friendly staff, who were also sympathetic to the demands of children. We will be going back soon.

Had really nice veggie Sunday dinner nice fire going food and staff very nice and a couple gave me a lift back to my broken down lorry all in all ten out of ten

During my last day at this beautiful village Gotham I stopped by The Star Inn as it was recommended by my new found friend from Gotham called Big Gazza who runs the “G” restaurant a few minutes away from here. Wow the food is amazing, I ordered small fish and chips and wow! I have to say the portions are big, I am getting a lot of fishy bang for my buck, I believe the fish was at least 4 pounds in weight. I will definitely visit this establishment again on my next trip to Gotham, I hope Big Gazza will still be around.. he seems to be going through a lot. If anyone in Gotham knows Big Gazza, please look out for him.

First time going in & it seemed like kids were running the place to the point they were playing their own music. Felt quite uncomfortable if I'm honest

Large back garden with BQ facilities, plenty of benches. Inside is quite nice but lacking atmosphere, perhaps because lack of drinkers? Still worth a visit, I like pubs that make you feel welcome and a valued customer, sadly on this visit I didn't feel welcome at the Star, something this pub should focus on and gain more visitors not just the usual lone drinker sitting at the bar. Come on pubs start welcoming drinkers back or you will close down!

We waited a long time until we got out drinks order taken and was seated at a dirty table. other than that it was good atmosphere and a good selection of drinks

Ordered a takeaway from this pubs new Korean inspired menu last night and was very impressed. Food was really nice, only a few vegetarian options but the ones we ordered were really good and the staff were really friendly. Would definitely recommend and will eat here again.

This place has just undergone a change in management, gone down hill is an understatement! Clientele is not good-its attracting the wrong type of people & the food is not right for a small village.perhaps this will improve ??hmm

Great pub hindered by another greedy pub company making life almost impossible for the hard working tennants to make a living despite working their rocks off.

My Mum and I popped into the Star Inn for supper instead of cooking ! So glad that we did! We both had scampi and chips accompanied by mushy peas and bread and butter. Great sized portions with plenty of sauces! Very well priced food and a lovely looking desert menu which we were too full to take advantage of. Really nice welcome from the barmaid and both land lord and land lady. So nice to sit by a real log fire on a cold and windy Wednesday Highly recommend!

I turned up late on Sunday, having been stuck on a train back from Oxford. Well past serving hours around 7.30 pm. Tired and hungry, I cheekily asked the landlady if there was any chance of some food. She was clearly tired after a long Sunday service and relaxing with customers. To my surprise she mustered up a full meal, great steak pie, vegetables, potatoes and gravy to take away.. Wow.. That doesn't happen often.. Highly recommended. Great food and even better service..A brilliant local pub😁👌

Stopped here before a PNE away trip to Nottm Forest, only a slight diversion from the route. Good menu and excellent choice of beer, well-kept. Very welcoming landlord, who obviously takes a pride in his pub. Will return next season!

Great little pub. Warm and welcoming.

Today was my 1st visit to this traditional pub but it won’t be my last. We had a delicious roast dinner and were made very welcome by the girls working and the owners Chris and Lisa. And they have goats in the garden, Batman, Robin & Joker! Highly recommended

We received a warm welcome from the landlords of this lovely pub when visiting as part of a walking group made up of 16 hungry walkers. The food was served very promptly and was excellent. Having also enjoyed an excellent pie night experience we can confirm that the food here is delicious, plentiful and largely homemade. The pub is warm and cosy with a large garden and 3 very cute pygmy goats (Gotham equals 'home of goats' in olde English). Strongly recommended.

I've just moved into the village and The Star is my local pub When you walk in you get a wonderful welcome The food is amazing whether it's a Sunday lunch or lunch time meal They also do a Pie and Fish night on a Wednesday and a Thai night on a Thursday If you are a Gin lover like me they have a great selection And if your into your beer Chris shows his passion for it having a great selection of different ales Also Chris and Lisa like to put singing acts on once or twice a month which brings the pub to life. carry on the good work chris and Lisa x

A good village pub on the main road into Gotham with good car parking to the rear. Visited the pub again on Sunday gone 26/08/18 with parents when I was visiting Gotham again & have to say the Sunday menu was exceptional they did Roast Pork, Roast Turkey & Roast Beef dinners as well as Nut Roast for the non meat eater of our group. The decor is exceptional with a good selection of drinks & add to all this they have fabulous beer garden to enjoy on a pleasant summer's day. Parking is available from the rear but can be limited.

I visited the Star on local election work and met the landlord chris and landlady Lisa the Wellcome was superb and the food looked even better I will be back very soon for food and drinks with the family . My pint was superb even if I did get some stick from a local who said he would not vote for me 👎Stuart Matthews

Perfect in every way beef was lovely tender so was my pork cauliflower cheese hot day so after dinner went into garden pleasant relaxing the goats they have are so cute a lovely relaxing aft

This is a beautiful village pub, well decorated and very welcoming. The landlord keeps a great pint, with and the landlady makes a mean mixed grill, will Locally sourced meat!! A huge rear garden, plenty for the kids to run around...even a pigmy goat enclosure! A must if you're in the area..a must even if you're not!

Great pub! Excellent landlord, keeps a bloody good pint too! Often has a different guest ale on. Food is great, very good VFM. Try and get in on a karaoke night...the locals let their hair down...it's a blast! Well worth a visit.

Lovely, friendly country pub. This pub has a welcoming atmosphere and does great food. You will never, ever go home hungry as the portions are generous and homemade food is definitely a bonus! Fish and chip night on a Wednesday is a must! Ive been in several times for it and it’s great.

what a great night out I went with my family and we all really enjoyed it. Chris and Lisa are doing a fantastic job. The entertainment that was on last night was excellent I have not laugh so much in a very long time and it was so good to see my dad enjoying himself. It was just the tonic that we all needed after loosing our brother over Easter. Not tried the food yet but I have heard that it is great food at a great price using fresh local products.And it is dog friendly too.

We went here as a family for Sunday lunch. Food was tasty and plentiful at a good price. Service was friendly and efficient but unobtrusive. The pub is welcoming with a nice log fire and good choice of drinks. Highly recommended. A proper traditional pub for all the right reasons.

My family came here for a Christmas Day tipple. What a fantastic atmosphere!! Locals all said hello when we entered and then wished us a happy Christmas when we left. It really felt warm and inviting. Nice choice of beers , wines and Gins!

Warm and welcoming. Open fires for the winter and huge garden for the summer. Lovely friendly hosts. Sunday lunch is plentiful and delicious. Just had a Thai evening and it was just fab! A place you can relax in and chat to anyone. Live singers, which we have yet to see, are reportedly brilliant too. Just a lovely pub to spend time in.

Have had the pleasure of going to this pub on a few occasions now. Chris and Lisa the landlord and landlady are very warm and welcoming. Nothing is too much trouble. Guinness is excellent and the food, cooked by Lisa is amazing. You must visit here for food and drink. It's wonderful..

Very friendly welcoming place with Landlords and bar staff who create a great atmosphere. A Proper outside area for children to play with a car park onsite and other parking nearby. It has now started doing food at lunchtime which is fantastic and great value. Sunday lunch's are brilliant! I stopped coming to this pub when the previous landlords had it but what a turnaround the current landlords have made. The pub had a good mix of people: all ages and all professions. I don't understand how anyone can rate this place as anything other than excellent! As my mother would say even the toilets are the best! It is by far the best pub in the area and well worth a visit.

Been to this pub on a few occasions since under new ownership and the transformation is amazing.... The beer is really cared for, the food, cooked by the landlady is very tasty (especially the meat pie) and the atmosphere has been friendly and accommodating every visit with regular entertainment laid on. Also shows whatever sport you fancy. Highly recommend a visit.

Was not allowed in the bar with my dog, however other people had their dogs in the bar. Don’t understand!

I am local to the village but have not used this pub for a while! However Chris and Lisa have turned this previously poor pub into an absolutely wonderful place to be! The beer kept to perfection and the food....OMG!! Delicious!!! I wish them all the best for the future and thank them dearly for making this pub a great place to socialise wether with friends or pipping in solo there is always a friendly welcome.

We visited this pub last night which happened to be its launch night as a new landlord and landlady had taken over.

New owners moving in on 12th July 2017 popular singer (Landlord) and good cook (Landlady), sounds like a breath of fresh air.

Returned here for a Saturday evening with friends after enjoying the Sunday lunch a couple of weeks ago. Had the best evening meal out for a long time. Really good to see a menu with some fabulous classic home cooked dishes supplemented by a good choice of specials. So many dishes I could have picked. We all had something different and every dish and course was presented beautifully, the portion size just right and the food absolutely delicious. Spot on service too. Really couldn't fault a thing and would highly recommend a visit if you've not been before or not been in a while. Looking forward to visiting again soon.

Had one of the best pints of beer in a long time. Unfortunately decided to eat here as well. Had one of the worst meals ever from the rather limited menu.
