Really nice food & super friendly staff, you can even take your own booze in so will definitely be back.

We ordered an extra large takeaway while staying in the area. We arrived early to collect, the staff were so friendly and even carried the box to the car for us! Best curry I have had in a LONG time

No better indian food anywhere than here.

Group of 7 came without a booking on a Thursday evening. Compact seating area got rearranged to accommodate us. Poppadoms with sauces followed by Mixed kebab starter The main was Chicken garlic and chilli with 2 tandoori rotis. Bottled water on the table as drinks. Around £30 per head. The quality and quantity of the food was excellent. The service was very good on top.

I have eaten here several times over the last 6 months and every visit has been GREAT!!! The guys are super friendly, the service super and the food is really wonderful. They are not licenced for alcohol but there is a Tescos only 70 metres away and they sell cold beer and wines. The food is perhaps the best Indian I have ever tasted in the UK and the value for money is also excellent, I paid 45 pounds for 2 of us last visit (Feb 2024). GREAT food and folks and value.

I went to daawat with high hopes of eating high quality Asian cuisine. I was absolutely blown away by how delicious everything was! The service was great too and the staff were all very kind. They also had free parking which was very convenient for us. Overall me and my family really enjoyed our time there and I would definitely recommend eating at daawat, it’s an amazing place!

The best Indian meal ever I arrived in Knowle on business so not familiar with the area. I literally stumbled across Daawat India & Beyond and immediately felt welcome. The owner Abdul S was very pleasant and attentive, made sure i was happy with the table setting. The owner struck up a conversation with me leading to him asking me what i usually order and would i be open to trying his secret dish which i gladly accepted. Simple Poppadom and chutney tray for starter and the unknown chicken dish along with boiled rice and chapati and it was delicious. The presentation was first class I asked how i would order this back home in Manchester but he wasn't divulging :-) its a shame i live 100 miles away as this restaurant would be my go to place for Indian cuisine. I will be returning next time i am in town Its also BYO which is a bonus, Rated and recommended LK

Difficult to find fault with this place, you get great service and food that all liked in our party with a nice atmosphere for a Tuesday night. As they are not licensed you can take in whatever you like to drink with glasses and ice provided and this keeps the cost down. Toilets were clean and modern.Takeaway service is quick and efficient too.

Small restaurant but pleasant staff take own drink

We were looking for a good Indian restaurant and were walking by this one to go to a nearby one, but luckily we stopped by Daawat restaurant and decided to give it a try! The moment we got in, the manager and the waitress welcomed us and were very friendly and kind to us. We loved the food, it was spectacular and absolutely delicious. They also gave our kids juice for free which was a nice gesture. Overall an amazing place and experience and I would recommend this place to anyone visiting Brimingham. Lastly, special thanks to the manager Shaheen who took good care of us from the moment we entered until we left.

Not as good as my last visit which was after lockdown ended we had a few takeaway during that period though. Maybe because of the change in management. My favourite giant prawn dish is more expensive, though forgiven due to inflation, but certainly not as good as before. Served in different shape dish. The prawns were 2 x U5 giant prawns then but now I get 4x much smaller prawns perhaps U8-12.! The taste still good but somehow the magic has gone and not as busy as before the pandemic.

Went on a quiet night with friends, bring your own alcohol but they do sell soft drinks. Friendly service and couldn't fault the food, tasty and plentiful. I had lamb tikka starter and chicken pathia as main and both delicious

We visited Daawat to pick up a takeaway and ordered a couple of curries and some sides. The food was so tasty - highly recommend !

5 stars! This has been my go to place for the most authentic and flavourful Indian cuisine since arriving here in the UK. What you see in the picture is the Rezela King Prawns in the most flavourful and deeply spiced sauce. With a side of lentils and fried garlic. Let’s face it. UK is known for its Indian, and there are many great places here, but Daawat really sets the bar, and it’s the place to go to if you’re in West Midlands. Brilliant!!!

Always love the food here. However both the chicken in the dishes we had was stringy and flavourless although the sauces were delicious as usual. There seems to be a move in a lot of restaurants to use alternative forms of chicken. I will continue to use the restaurant and will stick to lamb or fish in future.

The best curries we've ever found! Wonderful food, friendly and warm staff - plus it's bring your own alcohol which is always a bonus. The team are brilliant with our kids, who have been treated to a kitchen tour to see how the naan breads are made, they love it here. Can highly recommend the Zimdani and Chicken Chilli Sizzler Balti

For a night out with friends we had not seen for a long time, it was great. The food was excellent and presented really beautifully. The time it took to come was too long, although the conversation took our minds off the delay. Just for main courses we were in the restaurant for 2 1/2 hrs. The bill was reasonable and kept down as we supplied the drinks. Staff were great, but prioritised the takeout meals rather than looking after the diners. Would I go back, yes, but I would plan to be out a lot longer!!

Tried to order food online but the payment would not process, so called and a really helpful guy took the order. Delivery was quick the balti was delicious and flavoursome. Our new favourite Friday night treat.

Not exaggerating, the lamb sizzler was probably the best curry I've ever had.

Ordered a delivery and I chose the lamb dhansak. Of all the Indians I've had in the last 20 years this was one of the best for taste. I'd love the recipe but I'm going to order it again for sure!

If in Knowle, or near-by this is a little gem. Bring your own booze, the food is tremendous, the staff are very friendly and create a good ambience.

We stumbled upon this restaurant by mistake when we went to the cash point at Tesco. Thank goodness we did! Honestly the most delicious, fresh and flavoursome food. Best curry ever, and great service. We will definitely be back

Very disappointed with the delivery service tonight. Ordered food worth £63 tonight at 20:30. Food arrived cold 2 hours later despite living just 2 miles away from the restaurant. Won't be ordering off them again.

Very disappointed... Arived at 7.30pm and by 8.45pm - after repeated assurances that the starter would arrive shortly - we got up and left with an empty belly and a wasted Saturday evening. Over an hour and a quarter is not an acceptable time to wait for your starter, especially a tandoori sharer that should be a straightforward dish to cook. We weren't the only ones complaining either, others were also waiting a ridiculous amount of time for their food. However we saw lots of takeaways coming and going in the time we sat at our table waiting, and so takeaways seems to be the focus of the business - at the expense of the restaurant customers. On tonight's experience, I cannot recommend...

First time here, was v v busy Friday evening, service friendly and efficient, food was delicious the best bhuna I’ve had, naans were fluffy and light, I would definitely be back, could have done with a window open now and again tho! No air circulation at all and it was v stuffy as it was full to capacity. BYO alcohol btw

Amazing chefs! Very flavoursome and you can tell freshly made. I personally love their fish dishes, as someone that usually opts for chicken or lamb. Wouldn't go anywhere else now. Great customer service and also delivery. Have passed the message in to friends etc to try Daawat. I don't post reviews usually, but when credit is due, done.

They had gone the extra mile to make it easy for us to serve, bringing it in larger containers and dividing naans etc. It was very much appreciated. We use the restaurant and takeaway regularly and the quality of food and service is always excellent

Daawat did not disappoint! We had it delivered so the chips were on the soggy side but the rest of the food was amazing, curries were still piping hot and the best curry I've had so far 🙂

I've been here a fair few times in various groups. The fact it's unlicensed and you can bring your own alcohol makes it so the bill is always ridiculously cheap to the point it's actually shocking. But that's the tip of the iceburg here. Even though I would not class it as the best curry house in the sense of taste in Knowle, Dorridge and Bently Heath (although it is close 2nd out of the 10+ available). I would say that the atmosphere, portion sizes, prices and especially the staff are second to none for the physical size of the place (it's rather tiny). Staff put up with a lot; are always calm and the manager is always incredibly welcoming, the place is incredibly clean and is always our go to as we know the staff will never turn their noses up at people. Which can be a common occurance in the area. The combination of pricing, service & non licensing makes this place unique to the area. To put things in perspective I personally have been there 3 times in the past 1 1/2 weeks since we knew another lockdown was coming just to make the most of it. 5 stars from me lads. Pray you stay open.

I was slightly dubious visiting Dawaat as there are so many good Indian restaurants in Knowle however I was not disappointed! It is a cosy non-fussy restaurant. Its quite small in there but this adds to the atmosphere. Staff are brilliant and very knowledgable with the menu which I think is always a big positive. The staff were helpful and happy in recommending dishes. The food was delicious. Generous portions with high quality produce. All three curries were so tasty and had a nice kick. Rezala and Tandoori Spice were lovely 👌 It is also bring your own drinks which is great. Will 100% be returning.

Got to be the best one in Knowle.

Have eaten here in the restaurant and then takeaways during lockdown. The food is always great and even during takeaway delivery there was a quick friendly wave and chat at a distance. Looking forward to going back to the restaurant when it opens

Just had our first taste of Daawat and it wont be the last, the food was lovely and plenty of it, was ready for collection at the time it was supposed to be. A lovely first experience and look forward to trying your service as a restaurant experience once all the restaurants are up and running again.

We've had a few meals from Daawat recently, all of them have been great. Have recommended Dawaat to others and they have become regulars too. A great range of options for vegetarians. Current NHS offer is very generous!
