The best restaurants in York Yorkshire and The Humber

Non vegan writing this: I was possibly a little apprehensive about visiting here for our friends birthday. But I needn't have been. The food was amazing. Genuinely blew my mind that they could make something vegan taste so much like meat! Will definitely return and would recommend to anyone!

An excellent vegan and vegetarian cafe.The 4 of us are a mixture of vegan and non-vegans. The food is fantastic. We can recommend the Goji vegan brunch and we went back later for the vegan and vegetarian strawberry cream tea. The fruit scones were better than non-vegan ones - so light, fluffy and super tasty. Will definitely revisit.

PERFECTION. We went for Sunday Lunch. We arrived half an hour early but were made welcome. The food was exquisite with unique tastes and combinations of flavours BUT sensible quantities. And a very reasonable price given the quality.

Popped in for some late afternoon food and to avoid the weather. Staff were so friendly and attentive. Value for money was really good and tasty. The atmosphere was a little quiet for us but not in a bad way. Thank you so much for the food and hot drinks!

Disappointing meal out in York having eaten at Bab Toomi in Leeds and loved it. Tired and not the cleanest interior and although there was loads of staff milling about the service wasn’t great, interspersed with the manager shouting at the staff from right by our table and seeking flustered every time people arrived (despite not being full). The food was nice to be fair and flavoursome but the rest really let it down. Could have done without seeing staff vaping in the kitchen too.

Cracking taproom, it was extremely busy and noisy upstairs but downstairs was a bit more chilled! Love this place

We arrived at 5:30pm and they let us order without informing us that they're about to close. 20 minutes later they asked us to leave 🤷‍♀️ what a waste of money!
