Wow...... amazing.....polite and friendly employees, the atmosphere is very homely and interesting design......the coffee is incredibly tasty....I recommend it

Had a madras tonight and the young lad who made it was very friendly when I spoke to him. Very nice curry, full of flavour.

Didn't stay there, I'm staying locally. Tried to book a table for Sunday roast but was told that they no longer serve meals. Also their website shows a menu and no mention of food no longer being served. We did stay for a drink and the atmosphere was friendly. It is a child and dog friendly pub.

Lovely warm welcome on a cold November afternoon. Coffee was really good - not burnt like a lot of 'chain' coffee shops. Had cake, which was also good. Very friendly staff. They have a garden for those sunny days. Dog friendly, clean and well laid out. We'll be back.

We had Christmas tapas. Every dish was delicious. The sticky toffee pudding was possibly the best I've had(and there's been a few). Service was great, lovely friendly staff. Would highly recommend, can't wait to go back.

Food was good but 2 things to criticise: the heating was turned up way too high plus the portion sizes of the deserts were considerable small considering the price.

What can I say, an amazing place. We have only just moved to York and was recommended The Crooked Tap as the best place for drinking We were not disappointed, fantastic choice of beers and good wine choice too. The staff, Jimmy in particular, are outstanding, we were made to feel welcome the minute we walked through the door. We were really made to feel a part of the community and the locals were lovely,chatty and friendly.Quality beers, good prices, fab staff and humongous bags of monster munch...what more can you want? I love The Crooked Tap and as a woman I ould feel safe to go and have a drink there on my own. Cindy

I got a bagel and a coke here to have on the train. I ended up waiting until I got home to have the bagel (hence the plate in my photo). Was glad I waited, because wow! Classic case of misleading fillings. That is a *pathetic* amount of gherkin and sauerkraut - pretty pathetic on the sauce as well. Made for a very bready bagel sandwich. No thanks, not for six quid.

My only criticism is the instant coffee! However I did see a coffee machine, and suspected it was out of order. Everyone was pleasant and cheerful, and the kitchen welcomes motorcyclists.

Best fish and chips in York by a country mile.

This was new find for us earlier this year, after eating many, many curries over the years and sampling most indian restaurants in York this is my new favourite, great food, very tasty, excellent breads. In my opinion you can't ho wrong eating here, and the takeaways travel well too.

Lovely little place, cosy, fabulous deco and cocktails were great. The atmosphere were lovely and the live music was such a pleasure to listen to. If we come back to York we will definitely be back.
