Went there for the first time last week. Going back again tonight hopefully. Small place with a lovely atmosphere and great food. Can’t fault it

We had an exceptional stay at Gray's. We stayed for 3 nights and came specifically to experience Chef lan Doyle's food in the Bow Room - which was incredible. There are some a la carte options but highly highly recommend the tasting menu for the full experience. The food was incredibly memorable - such a sophisticated use of ingredients and subtle flavours. The hotel itself is extremely charming. Our room was comfortable, quiet, warm and very clean. The social areas in the hotel are lovely - the long bar is especially nice and all of the beautiful original features have been complimented with new soft furnishings to create an elegant environment. A special word for the staff who were all extremely helpful, friendly and genuinely lovely.

Wow…….what an amazing cafe, food a level above anything I’ve previously experienced and the staff are really friendly. Can highly recommend

Lovely afternoon tea. Great value for money! The fillings in the sandwiches were flavourful, chicken mayo had garlic and fresh herbs, Smoked salmon was very plentiful. The scones looked a little over done but had a lovely home made, fresh flavour. Beautiful creamy Cheesecake. Decor is slightly plain / functional

Didn't stay there, I'm staying locally. Tried to book a table for Sunday roast but was told that they no longer serve meals. Also their website shows a menu and no mention of food no longer being served. We did stay for a drink and the atmosphere was friendly. It is a child and dog friendly pub.

Every time I go to York, I always come to this cafe. Everyone who works there are really friendly, and they also have a dog menu ! I would highly recommend this cafe to anyone who is visiting or lives in York.

Wow. Fantastic pub. Wish it was my local. Sat in the sun in the sheltered beer garden. Didn't have food as already eaten, but smelt and looked great and no one was complaining as they left!

Un gran grupo familiar fue a una celebración de la Boda de Rubí, incluido un niño de 9 meses. Todos estábamos alojados en el jardín mediterráneo, que tenía un ambiente encantador para el evento. La comida era excelente opciones vegetarianas y comidas de carne. Los postres, todos calientes excepto el helado - estaban deliciosos. El servicio para un grupo tan numeroso, 31 comensales, fue insuperable, nada demasiado problemático, muy eficiente, atento pero no asfixiante e incluso se disculpó cuando saltaron las alarmas de incendio. Algunos de nuestros huéspedes han dicho que volverían de nuevo. Nosotros también volveremos a visitar, hay más en el menú para probar.
