Ordered takeaway from here, arrived very quickly and very hot, delicious and cannot recommend this place enough 10/10 ☺️

Ordered through Uber eats but it was the restaurant staff that were supposed to deliver not Uber. Our food was late so we tried calling the restaurant many times and they never picked up. It said on Uber it was on its way but it should have taken 3 minutes to drive as it's round the corner from us. About an hour after it had been due to arrive I contacted Uber instead and they tried to contact the restaurant and couldn't get through either, we cancelled the order. Awful service.

Really good food and big portions, always love this place. Never used any issues before but delayed delivery over half an hour after no communication from themselves until we asked about it 20mins after expected delivery time

best vegan Chinese ever needed more nation wide

Had alright experiences in the past with take out from here, however tonight my boyfriend bought us a takeout and we ordered a pudding which is meant to come with some kind of custard thing. The custard was MOULDY. Hard with green mould growing all over it. We also ordered mains, both of which just tasted like their sweet and sour sauce but super spicy, even though we didn’t order sweet and sour! They were bright red and were just a few chunks of fake meat and onion swimming in overly-strong sauce. Don’t think I’ll buy from here again which is a shame as it’s hard finding all-vegan Chinese restaurants. :(

Im not vegan but my friend is and she recommended this place. I cannot describe the cognitive dissonance of eating this and it being vegan, it was amazing. The menu was like you would find at any Chinese restaurant. Massive portions. Food was incredible especially the fake chicken. Salt and pepper chips were spicier than expected but really tasty.

I’m intolerant to fish red meat & eggs so wish I’d have tried this place sooner. It was all amazing so I will be a regular customer from now on.

Really great Chinese. Lots of options and so far have been super tasty. Dude behind the counter was also really helpful with all the question I had when deciding what to get. Highly recommend the salt and pepper pita bread. Haven't come across it at any other Chinese but it's great.

One of the best takeaways we have ever had. The food was so tasty and you get a lot for your money. Finally I don’t struggle to find good Chinese food as a vegetarian! Even if you are a meat eater, still give this place a go.

This food was the best vegan Chinese I have ever had! I couldn't believe the textures of the mock meat and the flavours. Delivery was also quick after ordering. I will definitely be ordering again!

Used to be one of my favourite places but the last two times I ordered it, it was highly disappointing :( and we regretted it completely! Wish they would go back to the good old days!

This was my first time ordering from Wawin. Excellent stuff. All the kind of thing you'd expect from a good chinese takeaway. Lots of different meat alternatives but I prefer good old fashioned tofu. The "egg" drop sweetcorn soup is also great.

I put my collection in for a certain time and I ended up being 15 mins early. This was no problem at all for them and they got my order ready for my straight away! Food is always 10/10. Could have the satay sauce with literally every meal.

Lovely as usual just a shame the vegan chicken pieces are different as they were really chewy and totally different to the normal ones that we’ve had before from here so a tad disappointed😞

There is no better place to get high quality, amazingly fresh and original vegan food. I’m a regular and we’ve never been disappointed, ever. The service is second to none, polite, rapid and tip worthy. Long may they continue in York and beyond.

Wawin is my go-to for a takeaway now. The food always arrives on time (or earlier than expected) warm and delicious. I’m not vegan but I’d choose to eat the salt & pepper vegan chicken over real meat any day, it’s sooo good. Delivery guy is always very polite too!

I order to take way via the Deliveroo app for the second time. First was two years ago and I was very pleased with this place. But I ordered again this year and I was so disappointed. The food wasn’t very tasty and the quality not great. Also the delivery was more than an hour with no informations. I wont order again unfortunately.

It is so rare to find a Chinese takeout that can do gluten free, let alone vegan and gluten free together. Every time i’ve ordered from Wawin i’ve had lovely food with plenty of choice - rare for a celiac vegan!

Delivery on time. Food was hot. Veg was swimming in oil. Blackbean sauce was just oil with flavouring. Had to mop oil off veg.

I had a takeaway and I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was, I’ve had vegan Chinese before and it didn’t quite hit the spot with it being vegan but this take away is the best Chinese take away I’ve ever had! The food was amazing! I picked it up and I asked for it for a certain time it was bang on with the timing and it was still hot when I got home, the best Chinese in York!

Lovely vegan Chinese near the city centre, the food was really good though on the pricey side. I would also say that some of the meat alternatives were a bit too chewy, but the sauces etc were yummy!!

Literally the best Chinese I’ve ever had. The special combo box is insanely good and really good value for money too. The crispy seaweed is incredible also. 10/10 every time and all the people working there are really nice too.

Unfortunately the past few orders have been wrong or inedible.no consistency of tastes. The dishes tastes different everytime, and the over salting is unbelievable with salt n pepper items. The staff are quick to rectify but don't listen and I have now given up with this place.it really has changed the past few months and dishes are smaller and certainly not worth the cost.bearly any veg in dishes and gave up speaking to last person when order was wrong yet again on delivery .it's a shame as I have been a customer for nearly 2 years

This was disappointing to be honest. Wawins has been my favourite takeout for the past 2 years! However, recently the quality and style of the food has changed dramatically. I’ve been disappointed with my last few orders and am wondering if there has been a change in management?

Hands down the best Chinese I’ve had in years. Catered for allergies, very helpful staff when I called and 24h later and I’ve not had a single twinge of discomfort! Highly recommend. My partner thoroughly enjoyed his meal and it was hard to tell there was no meat. Will definitely be ordering again soon.

As the prices are around 50% more than my local takeaway which also gets a 4.5 score on Google I expected the food to be a notch above the rest, sadly not the case...... Sweet and sour tofu: sauce was watery and pretty tasteless, the tofu was rubbery and chewy, mostly accompanied by onion which was undercooked. Braised aubergine, maybe I didn't read the description well, was expecting a wider variety of veg in this dish, what I got was a container full of pieces of aubergine stuck together by a gelatinous sauce with a few bits of ginger and garlic, the taste was ok but its monotonous consistency was overwhelming. The sides of rice, chow mein and spring rolls were ok. I have eaten some combination of this meal probably 50 times, from 4 or 5 different places, this one compares badly to the rest. Disappointed as I was thrilled at the idea of vegan takeaway.

Ordered takeaway from here tonight and it was amazing! I've never seen such a varied vegan offering from a Chinese takeaway and it was really tasty. The delivery was also really quick, only took about half an hour from ordering to delivery. Really impressed, would definitely reccomend!

I have an egg allergy so often order from/eat at vegan restaurants as it takes away the risk of anaphylaxis. I ordered dinner and suffered an allergic reaction after eating the food. All food ordered was listed as vegan and even the rice was confirmed as "fried rice (egg free)". It is disgraceful for a place to advertise there food as vegan when it isn't, EGG=NOT VEGAN. Disgraceful and disgusting, won't be ordering from here again.

Food was divine! I loved everything. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. We were going to the orchid but they were too busy for us and rude about it, so glad we didn’t, your food was by far superior to theirs and I will never seek a table at that establishment again now I have found you. This review would've been 5 star, but DO NOT ORDER DELIVERY! Collection is a great idea, the food is nice and is usually ready as you arrive. However.... the past 2 times I've decided to have food delivered: first time food was over 2 hours late. Second time,we ordered food to be delivered around 11:30pm and it arrived around 9pm (2 hours early). We then rang and essentially said we had lied, when it's a technical error. Order to collect, don't get delivered. £4 delivery for it to be miles away from specified time is unbelievable. Not even an apology for a technical error. Do order and collect it!!! Please do,it's good food. Just do not order delivery!!
