The food didn't come. Please refund my money.

Ordered and wondered why it didn’t show up - checked other reviews to find out the place is closed. Trying to request a refund now

I havent recieved this order it's over an hr late. I have tried to phone the restaurant a number of times but nobody answers.

Wawin used to be the best vegan Chinese in York. Now it’s bad review after bad review. Really wish I’d have looked at reviews before ordering tonight. No food has been delivered. Will be asking for a full refund and will not order from here again. Shame.

Order didn’t arrive and restaurant doesn’t answer phone to pursue a complaint.

food not delivered..twice in one week. very disappointed, rang the restaurant but no reply each time. last order I received was 2 hours late. I love this restaurant so what has happened?

Order never arrived despite saying it was delivered.

Food did not arrive. No delivery tracking, just marked as delivered after over an hour of 'we have your order'. No communication from the restaurant. No one answering the phone.

Never arrived, no response or update from the restaurant, spend 30 mins trying to call after 2 hours and it still had not arrived

DO NOT ORDER Restaurant is temporarily closed!!! I was waiting 90 minutes for my order to arrive and nothing. No answer. Didn’t think to check reviews because I know the food is good here. Called the Leeds branch who just casually said York is closed and to ask for a refund…. Not happy!!

Ordered food, payment took, food never arrived. Called restaurant many times with no answer.

Driver rang at the wrong address then left the bag on the ground and only called me when she was about to drive off and blamed me for not answering! I had written the door number on the order so there is no excuse

The best vegan chinese food restaurant in York. If you are into Vegan foods then this is a must try. Every item we have tasted here has always been upto the point. Very good taste and portion size. Must try for anyone in York or coming here.

I absolutely love this place! Despite the fact I am not a vegan myself, I prefer Wawin Chinese to the standard. The staff working are always super polite ( front of house staff and delivery drivers) I honestly couldn’t recommend this place enough! 🍜

Gorgeous food I’m allergic to prawns so having the vegan prawn curry is amazing. If you order a small starter there is easily enough for two.

Ordered through Uber eats but it was the restaurant staff that were supposed to deliver not Uber. Our food was late so we tried calling the restaurant many times and they never picked up. It said on Uber it was on its way but it should have taken 3 minutes to drive as it's round the corner from us. About an hour after it had been due to arrive I contacted Uber instead and they tried to contact the restaurant and couldn't get through either, we cancelled the order. Awful service.

Really good food and big portions, always love this place. Never used any issues before but delayed delivery over half an hour after no communication from themselves until we asked about it 20mins after expected delivery time

best vegan Chinese ever needed more nation wide

Had alright experiences in the past with take out from here, however tonight my boyfriend bought us a takeout and we ordered a pudding which is meant to come with some kind of custard thing. The custard was MOULDY. Hard with green mould growing all over it. We also ordered mains, both of which just tasted like their sweet and sour sauce but super spicy, even though we didn’t order sweet and sour! They were bright red and were just a few chunks of fake meat and onion swimming in overly-strong sauce. Don’t think I’ll buy from here again which is a shame as it’s hard finding all-vegan Chinese restaurants. :(

Im not vegan but my friend is and she recommended this place. I cannot describe the cognitive dissonance of eating this and it being vegan, it was amazing. The menu was like you would find at any Chinese restaurant. Massive portions. Food was incredible especially the fake chicken. Salt and pepper chips were spicier than expected but really tasty.

I’m intolerant to fish red meat & eggs so wish I’d have tried this place sooner. It was all amazing so I will be a regular customer from now on.

Really great Chinese. Lots of options and so far have been super tasty. Dude behind the counter was also really helpful with all the question I had when deciding what to get. Highly recommend the salt and pepper pita bread. Haven't come across it at any other Chinese but it's great.

One of the best takeaways we have ever had. The food was so tasty and you get a lot for your money. Finally I don’t struggle to find good Chinese food as a vegetarian! Even if you are a meat eater, still give this place a go.

This food was the best vegan Chinese I have ever had! I couldn't believe the textures of the mock meat and the flavours. Delivery was also quick after ordering. I will definitely be ordering again!

Used to be one of my favourite places but the last two times I ordered it, it was highly disappointing :( and we regretted it completely! Wish they would go back to the good old days!

This was my first time ordering from Wawin. Excellent stuff. All the kind of thing you'd expect from a good chinese takeaway. Lots of different meat alternatives but I prefer good old fashioned tofu. The "egg" drop sweetcorn soup is also great.

I put my collection in for a certain time and I ended up being 15 mins early. This was no problem at all for them and they got my order ready for my straight away! Food is always 10/10. Could have the satay sauce with literally every meal.

Lovely as usual just a shame the vegan chicken pieces are different as they were really chewy and totally different to the normal ones that we’ve had before from here so a tad disappointed😞

There is no better place to get high quality, amazingly fresh and original vegan food. I’m a regular and we’ve never been disappointed, ever. The service is second to none, polite, rapid and tip worthy. Long may they continue in York and beyond.

Wawin is my go-to for a takeaway now. The food always arrives on time (or earlier than expected) warm and delicious. I’m not vegan but I’d choose to eat the salt & pepper vegan chicken over real meat any day, it’s sooo good. Delivery guy is always very polite too!

I order to take way via the Deliveroo app for the second time. First was two years ago and I was very pleased with this place. But I ordered again this year and I was so disappointed. The food wasn’t very tasty and the quality not great. Also the delivery was more than an hour with no informations. I wont order again unfortunately.

It is so rare to find a Chinese takeout that can do gluten free, let alone vegan and gluten free together. Every time i’ve ordered from Wawin i’ve had lovely food with plenty of choice - rare for a celiac vegan!

Delivery on time. Food was hot. Veg was swimming in oil. Blackbean sauce was just oil with flavouring. Had to mop oil off veg.

I had a takeaway and I wasn’t expecting it to be as good as it was, I’ve had vegan Chinese before and it didn’t quite hit the spot with it being vegan but this take away is the best Chinese take away I’ve ever had! The food was amazing! I picked it up and I asked for it for a certain time it was bang on with the timing and it was still hot when I got home, the best Chinese in York!

Lovely vegan Chinese near the city centre, the food was really good though on the pricey side. I would also say that some of the meat alternatives were a bit too chewy, but the sauces etc were yummy!!

Literally the best Chinese I’ve ever had. The special combo box is insanely good and really good value for money too. The crispy seaweed is incredible also. 10/10 every time and all the people working there are really nice too.

Unfortunately the past few orders have been wrong or inedible.no consistency of tastes. The dishes tastes different everytime, and the over salting is unbelievable with salt n pepper items. The staff are quick to rectify but don't listen and I have now given up with this place.it really has changed the past few months and dishes are smaller and certainly not worth the cost.bearly any veg in dishes and gave up speaking to last person when order was wrong yet again on delivery .it's a shame as I have been a customer for nearly 2 years

This was disappointing to be honest. Wawins has been my favourite takeout for the past 2 years! However, recently the quality and style of the food has changed dramatically. I’ve been disappointed with my last few orders and am wondering if there has been a change in management?
