Great service and a lovely place to hang out. Made to feel welcome and valued by staff - especially Izzy Smith who went out of her way to make sure we had everything we need.

I visited Spark today with work colleagues for a business meeting. At lunchtime, I discovered that food stalls display a sign advising that you notify them if you have an allergy. I mentioned my minor nut allergy and they politely refused to serve me anything. I tried the next stall only to find it displayed the same sign about allergies. Apparently you aren’t allowed to eat if you have any allergy. I won’t be going back.

Love this place. It's a mix of indoor / outdoor space. We went 2nd week of November so it was cold, but upstairs there are heaters to keep you warm. The toilets are frequently cleaned. There's a great selection of food vendors. I loved the fact that you could sit down at a table, scan the QR code to order and pay with your phone, then thr food gets delivered to your table. Amazing!

Great spot with lots of people so lots of atmosphere. The choice of food outlets and options were brilliant.

Went here during a weekend in York. Lovely place. It was Oktoberfest so they had loads of different German beers on tap which were well kept. The staff we spoke to were friendly and helpful and more than happy to make recommendations on what beers to try. We had some food from the chicken place on the first floor (can't remember the name) but it was delicious. Definitely a great way to spend an afternoon.

The atmosphere here is amazing. Loads of little food places and lots to choose from. We had pizza at Rad Pizza Shop and it was delicious !!

Ate here both Friday and Saturday nights of my weekend in York. We had Souvlaki from Sasa on Friday. The grilled meat was absolutely beautiful. On Saturday we had an amazing pizza from Rad's. Loved the atmosphere and the inside/outside vibe. Thought it might be difficult to find somewhere to sit especially it being the weekend and very busy but it wasn't a problem. I wasn't expecting to find a place like this in York!

My daughter & I visited Clucking Oinks, our absolute favourite for a quick meal. The chicken is the stuff of dreams, I had the pesto burger, 1st time, & it's amazing!! Sun- dried tomato mayo, buffalo mozzarella, the aforementioned chicken strips & the freshest, greenest, tastiest pesto ever. Loved it. Daughter had the strips & fries. Best chips in York by a country mile. Spark has its roof on for winter & despite the gloomy day we were toasty under the heaters. Very friendly & efficient staff. Lovely vibe to the whole place.

Our first re-visit in 3 years. Absolutely awesome place. We've tried multiple of the food and drink establishments here and enjoyed them all. Easy to order, great atmosphere, service and facilities. The kids love it too! 😍

A great place for a break from sightseeing and a full variety of food in one place.

A container food area is a combination of many shops, offering a variety of food and alcoholic beverages. The seats are almost full, and every table is full of drinks. It can be seen that everyone is enjoying themselves! Today I ordered the grilled chicken and hamburger set, which was really full of flavor. The common feature is that it is very salty. It is so salty that it is addictive and delicious. It is very suitable for pairing with a glass of beer!

The pizza stall was to busy to take my order at the counter so he said didnt look busy to me been coming to spark for 2 years now you can stick your pizza up your arse i wont be coming back clearly you dont need tbe money

Well worth a visit, quite a few similar places popping up around the country. Good selection of restaurants and bars. Mostly undercover and partially heated.

10/10. Tried loads of food from different vendors and cannot fault a single one. Each dish was unreal. Would 100% recommend and return. The amaretto sour is possibly the best I’ve ever tasted!!

Great location, good selection of good and drinks. Only complaint is that the place opens early but all food vendors don't open until midday ish and none advertise opening times.

Wow came across this place by accident after having lunch at the shambles. I wish we came here first. They do table service and the choice is great they also have great music playing. We will eat here again.. and again and again.

I’ve been to spark multiple times now and everytime has been a great experience. There is a great range of foods across the stalls, as well as a variety of drinks you can order. You can order via a website from multiple stores and your food is brought to your table. There are plenty of tables spread across the food court, and also shutters if it rains which is always useful! Definitely worth a visit if you are in the area

What a brilliant place. Great choice of food. Good choice of drinks. I loved the basic layout and simple furnishings. The atmosphere was lively but friendly. I also love that using the app you can order from different outlets and just pay one bill.

Nice place for a drink and vegan junk food

Fabulous food and drink in a relaxed atmosphere. Visited on our break in York and wish we had something similar in portsmouth. We will definitely return.

Street food but spoilt for choice from several vendors - reaĺly popular so maybe plan your visit to make sure you can get a table

We popped in after eating in York so only had drinks. Quite busy and decent atmosphere. It was quite a nice night so nice to sit out but would be a bit more miserable if raining and cold. Heaters help though. I had a good pint from Piccadilly Tap but the wife and daughter were disappointed with their Pimm's and cocktails from Spritz

A lovely place for dinner with an incredibly unique vibe and variety. There is definitely a little bit of something for everyone here. Wait times can be long and you may struggle for a table at times, but this just goes to show how much the public appreciate the space of Spark.

I assume each food vendor is independent? We had some lovely food from an Italian place, and also some Asian food (2 dishes) one was ok, one was great. It's a great venue, I guess weather dependent. It was lovely when we were there We're tourists, the only reason we won't be back any time soon to try the other vendors!

I love places like this. Food good, service good, location good, everything good, even the toilets. Everything is perfect, you can order and then sit comfortably.

Pretty cool place, very niche food to get all in one central hub, all quality and lots of drinks served all outdoor seated.

Worst burrito I've ever had. Aranchini was okay. Pistacho tirramasu was banging though.

A touch on the pricey side, most food is decent enough but only seems a viable option on warm days as limited shelter. Great for a meal without booking or for fussy eaters requiring many options. Good service too.

Food and drink options could be better

Lots of seating, huge range of food and drink options available, good place to catch the sun, easy ordering system. Unfortunately the quality of the stall we ordered from, Boho Mixologists, affected our experience. Margarita tasted like watered down lime juice, glass was only half full, drink wasn’t cold, served with a wedge of browning lime in the drink, no salt rim, smudge and make up marks around the glass. The stall wasn’t busy, staff were spending time chatting to their friends on other tables. Probably the poorest cocktail I’ve had.

Great food selection and a lovely setting on a nice day! Ordering is done on your phone by scanning a QR code on the table, so you can browse the menus for all of the vendors before deciding, and order a selection from one or many of them. I had food from herbivorous - vegan mac & cheese and seitan chicken wings - which was lovely. Service is quick and the staff are friendly :)

We hired the event room for an event with about 25 people. The room is fine, functional, nothing special, but everything was easy and everything around - food, drink, general atmosphere - worked really well. Staff are incredibly helpful and friendly.

We didn’t have food on this visit but the drinks and staff were amazing. Definitely returning when we visit again

Went to Vovo Brazilian Cantine and had Argentina-Picanhe £16.50 for a tray of cheap fries with some bits of steak on top that we couldn't chew at all..

We just stopped in for a drink. There was a great atmosphere, the drinks were tasty & everyone seemed to be having a good time.

The best place to hangout for food lovers. So much variety, you will feel like travelling to places... Every food is amazing and the people and atmosphere is next to none. Worth a visit, not just once but a lot of times.

Exactly what you'd expect from a container village style food hall, similar to those in London and elsewhere around the country. Really easy to order using the QR codes on the tables, and the food arrived quickly (but be aware if you order from multiple vendors, food will arrive at different times). Seating is all outdoors, but is covered and heated. I recommend this if you're wanting something relatively quick, and don't mind not having a restaurant experience. The quality of the food isn't in question, and I'd recommend the Pistachio Arrancini if you're looking for something special.

I absolutely love this place! 1st place I'd recommend in York! I would recommend trying any of the food stations, never had bad food!

Came to York for a week on holiday and ended up coming here for 3 of the 5 nights for dinner as there was so much to choose from. The atmosphere was incredible and the food was amazing. You could order to your table from any of the options using a QR code which was also so useful.

Our first time at Spark and there were plenty of choices for street food and drinks. As with many of these types of places, grab yourself a seat and either order from a kiosk or from the app using the QR code on the table. Service was quick and reasonably-priced, and the atmosphere was good, despite the rain that day. Not all seats are covered so get in there quick if it’s drizzling!

We have visited twice in recent weeks as a group of adults and teenagers to watch the England games,both times we had a brilliant time. Super helpful staff & lovely food, making it a great fun experience!Thank you!

Lovely place, tried Voco cantina, was really good. A lot of the seating places were wet because of the rain, better umbrellas or easy to remove ceiling would be better

Came with my 5 year old child and the wouldn’t serve her a guiness. Instead they threw holy water at her and started praying. Other than that class time 10/10

Always love to visit here. Great selection of food and beer. Relaxed atmosphere, strangers becoming friends. I believe we now call this "vibing" ? Dog friendly to boot. Perfect for a relaxed evening with friends or a loved one.

Great place for catch-up with friends, it was busy but everything was really well organised! Everyone found a place to sit and eat unlike Leeds Trinity Kitchen where it's a free for all.

I went to SPARK with some friends during the weekend and we had a really nice time. I had walked past here many times and always meant to go in and I'm very glad I did. There is a nice variety of food and drinks available, and while I didn't eat on this occasion I will definitely be back again to try out some of the food. Our drinks were brought straight to the table very quickly which was nice and the general atmosphere was really vibrant and positive. The toilets were clean and there were many stalls so even though it was a little busy there was not much waiting involved. A lot of places in York can blend into one but SPARK is definitely unique and worth a try whether you live in the area or are just visiting.

Great atmosphere! You order on the app and they deliver to the table. Food and drinks were great and they were even showing the euros on the big screen

SPARK is an amazing, eco-friendly institution which helps new businesses make their big break. Many places which you may know from around York such as Doner Summer and Clucking Oinks started out in SPARK. There is a large variety of food at great prices and the atmosphere is always fantastic. If visiting York I must recommend checking it out.

Good place to eat, came with our small children on a Tueaday evening and the atmosphere was nice. The play area is a bit run down and my son got stung by a nettle.

This seems to be a very unique and interesting place to pickup a bite to eat within York. Very young, hip and trendy. Try it

Thought I'll give this place a visit clean with WC went on bank Holiday Monday to packed unable to find somewhere to sit so unable to try the food will go back in the week later on.

Pizza and drinks were good. Not much shelter from rain during summer. Roof was leaking in parts. Good selection of drinks

If there is a heaven, spark will be the first thing you'll see. Happy, chilled atmosphere and amazing restaurants. Definitely coming again

A really cool space to hang out with friends and enjoy some tasty food! There's lots of seating, and a variety of food options, from Italian to Indian. Prices are a little on the higher side, but the quality is very good. The Rodeo burger from Clucking Oinks is genuinely the best I've ever had! Spark York is dog friendly. There are some stairs to climb if you want to sit on the upper floor, which are slippery when it's raining. Will definitely be coming back! The whole vibe is one that's very relaxed, and it's easy to talk to new people and share the experience together.

The real shambles. Weak, overly sweet cocktails. Bland arancini, missing the advertised pistachio pesto. Pizza that was black burnt underneath and at the same time had uncooked dough on one side it was also so thin in the middle it was impossible to pick up a slice, just a mess. Serving staff who have never encountered numbers before, several instances of staff trying to give us other people's orders when everything is clearly numbered.

Really nice place to sit and eat with friends. Lots of options, including for veggies. Really great when the sun is shining :)
