Amazing food and kids get starter, main and dessert for £1 which is unbelievable. Mixed seafood linguine was one of the best I’ve ever had.

Excellent family Italian restaurant. Obviously very popular locally, but it's still easy to get a seat. The food is really very good. I've tried both their pizzas (as good as any I've had in Rome) and their Lasagna. Both are wonderful. The staff are attentive without being intrusive.

Had a nice meal here last night. It was nice and busy with a good atmosphere. The service was good and I thought the set menu was really reasonably priced.

Nice atmosphere. Smiling staff. The food didn't excite me, it was tasty, but nothing out of the ordinary. The salad has perbord and mustard. A dirty glass (with lipstick) was placed with the beer. In my opinion - EXPENSIVE (pasta, soup of the day, salad and beer) - £44. NOT worth the money!!! The rest is for everyone. I won't come back here again.

From the outside, this looks like a stunning little restaurant. The service was very good, and the atmosphere was very good. What let it down was the food, Friday night never the best time to eat so really should know better, the bread and olive starter lovely home made bread. But then the mains came I had sirloin steak with Diane sauce and chips and my wife had the sea bass branzino (without the prawns), the steak came on a wooden chopping board, so no pouring the sauce over my meal and it was warped so spent a lot of time trying to keep it on the table but it was a poor cut with so much gristle that made up a third of the meat, but chef cannot be held responsible for the meat itself. The sauce was OK, but far too many onions , so this was what it tasted of and not brandy or french mustard. My wife's fish was overcooked, making it dry and the sauce was in no way creamy just a tomato style sauce which was heavy with far too much chillies covering the fish head to tail making it impossible to actually taste the fish, the asparagus (all 3 of them were hard and undercooked). This was really disappointing as the staff and ambience of the restaurant were great, but having ourselves been in the industry for over 25 years, we felt a long and detailed review was needed as this is only going to improve the quality of what is on offer. I must also comment on the cocktails, which at £12:95 each were truly rubbish, having made 100s of these in my own restaurant. Putting that much ice in is just wrong! Would return, but maybe we should stick to pasta, pizzas and beer, which most guests seem to be enjoying.

Looked good based on the reviews. Expected good things. Was a little disappointed in the carbonara the pancetta definitely was crispy. Mix up with one of the mains which can happen and ok. Rectified within a decent time so not holding that against them. Had better Italian felt quite rushed together. The roast potatoes just felt microwaved warm as the onions were not crispy either. Wouldn’t maybe have left a review if it wasn’t 16 for a carbonara and wasn’t really a big portion either. Could have just been our dishes but won’t be back to try again

Great italian food and service. They pack you in though so if you prefer a bit of space or don't like going up and down stairs then you may want to try elsewhere. You'll be missing out though.

We were so happy to have a lunch there! The food was very delicious, we liked chef's special aubergine, carbonara, pizza - everything was great! Drinks were good as well. The stuff was super friendly, the guy even played with our son =D This visit made the whole York experience amazing for us on this day!

Such a small but beautiful restaurant. I have no idea how the servers go up and downstairs all day, especially with food! Our server, Krissy, gave my partner and I some exceptional and kind service that made our last meal of the holiday extra special. 11/10, would recommend!

Lovely little restaurant that was very busy for a Sunday night. The food was excellent - we both had a starter and a main each and we couldn't fault anything put in front of us. The service matched the food, the team were lovely and even the crockery was really nice! Our per person spend includes wine.

We were staying in York for the weekend and decided to give this place a try as it was close to our accommodation. We're very pleased that we did. The food was first-rate, quality ingredients beautifully prepared. It was a busy Friday night, but the service was excellent, friendly, efficient, and just attentive enough. If you're looking for a great Italian restaurant in the heart of the city, look no further. We will certainly be back the next time we are in York.

Just had one of the best meals in a long time. Absolutely top notch, seafood risotto was so tasty, packed with seafood. All reasonably priced, great value! Excellent, highly recommend.

Proper Italian food 🇮🇹 we had some appetisers, the goat cheese salad and pasta (with sea food and pomodoro) everything was very good. I did not like the salad that much - although the goat cheese was delicious! The atmosphere and the service were great!

This was a lovely find in the centre of York. We only had 2 nights here so we went on TripAdvisor and found this place. The food and service were very good, with a fixed price menu, a specials board and an A La Carte menu. The 2 servers, Charlotte and Srujan were friendly and chatty without being too intrusive. We would definitely go back if we were ever in York again.

Nice Italian food with cocktails and wine! We all had the 2 course menu which was tasty and good value.

Second time visiting York and eating at this restaurant. Charlotte helped me to get it all organised as there was 13 of us for this booking. So thank you to Charlotte and also the rest of team for looking after us on the day. What I did find which was a little ungreatful and not nice was that when I went to say bye to Charlotte and thank her at the end of the night one of the managers with a grey jumper had a go at Charlotte in front of all the customers because she was talking to me and just saying a quick goodbye all because other customers were not getting served. Managers need to start treating their employers with good care and respect. Charlotte actually made the restaurant a lot of money especially with a 12 people booking for one night so definitely think a apology needs to be made by the manager who had a go at her. Thanks again

Focaccia and olive to start was great, the service was fast and friendly.. However, the main meal food was poor. Margarita pizza was soggy, chicken dish was bland and, we're both big fans of garlic, but the pasta bake my wife had was aggressively garlicy.

Good Value for money and equivalently good service. Great details to eye and attention staff. The chef's clearly know what they are cooking and they have a wide variety of wine as well which is a must for an Italian Restaurant. Nice and warm atmosphere as well.

Very Disappointing experience. I found the manager to be a little rude and arrogant. The food was bland and dry. The meal seemed to have been microwaved and not prepared fresh or cooked freshly that night.we politely pointed out that the pepper shaker was empty and it was taken to filled up but never reappeared. Initially when I was served my food I was immediately asked is everything ok with the food to which I replied it’s ok because I was hungry was still hoping to enjoy my meal. But unfortunately I left half my meal as it was terrible. And when I mentioned this to manger upon our plates being collected he aggressively asked why I hadn’t said anything to him earlier. Manager need some training in customer service.

I came with my family for lunch, after about 20 minutes we received appetizers that were really delicious. After another 35 minutes, we received second courses, while other guests who arrived later than us received their food much earlier. It is clear that locals are served first, not tourists. The pizza was OK, but I've had better ones. I received pasta carbonara which was so bad that I asked to exchange the dish for a pizza. The carbonara sauce tasted like powder and the waiter asked him to add salt, which resulted in pasta with salt and plain bacon. Because there is no other way to call it. There was a stain in the dough of my pizza. My brother had the same pizza, which tasted much better than my quickly made one. The waiter was really nice, but the service and the waiting time for LUNCH were a disaster.

We ordered lunch for 6 people. We got the appetizers quickly and they were delicious that’s why 2 stars We received the main dishes after 35 minutes of eating the appetizers. So, we end eat 65 minutes after order - it’s not lunch. The carbonara was not with pancetta but with regular bacon, plus it was poured with a tasteless sauce. The waiter said that you should salt yourself according to taste, thanks to which the dish tasted like pasta with salt. The second carbonara was moved back to the kitchen, for pizza, which was ok. Pizza was delicious

We’ve come here a few now for dinner and loved it every time, even though we’re students we genuinely think it’s worth spending the money on (and it’s not ridiculous price wise.) The best and most authentic Italian in York by far. Highly recommend the Rigatoni al Manzo Piccante in particular. Staff are all super friendly too and the food is insanely good. We come here whenever we’ve had a particularly rough week as a pick-me-up and it’s never disappointed 😊

As another reviewer said earlier, and Oasis of calm on a race day weekend. though not booked we managed to secure a table for an early dinner. After being led upstairs to an intimate dining area we were seated and ordered quickly. Pizza was excellent, wine choice quality and good value, and service both friendly and helpful. We will certainly return and try some other traditional prepared dishes. Good value and highly recommended.

A busy Saturday in early September, a packed city centre lunchtime with early signs of hen parties beginning to build up momentum. We popped in here (without booking) for lunch and it was a miraculously relaxing experience, a welcome contrast to the growing maelstrom outside. The food was amazing and arrived promptly. Service was attentive yet unhurried. Would definitely return for an evening meal

We pre booked for 7.30 but were kept waiting for about half an hour for a table in a very hot stuffy upstairs room. When we did eventually get our table it was in the middle of a tightly packed part of the middle floor dining room and the staff couldn’t get round us to serve the other tables. They did move us after starters but I think that this was only so they could split our table up to allow more diners. The starters were ok, about what you’d expect, the mains were a bit bland and I’m pretty sure that the lobster ravioli was mixed with crab it was a paste inside the ravioli and no meaty lobster chunks so was hard to tell. Definitely tasted more like crab than lobster. The bolognaise was tasteless and the chicken and mushroom had very few mushrooms was under seasoned and was on the menu with crushed potatoes. There was just one small potato. Altogether for 2 courses plus drinks came to £130. For 3 of us 3 beers and 1 bottle of wine would mind paying that for a meal if it was worth the money. On the plus side the staff were great.

The margarita pizza was very disappointing more like a flat bread very thin dough on base and hardly any topping Changed the pizza and apologised but still not a lot of topping Far too expensive when other Italian pizzas are much better value and less expensive Went here a year ago but as said very disappointed this time .

Excellent recommendation from Find Me Gluten Free. Lots of gluten free and vegetarian options. Very tasty and soft pizza bases. GF bases are often hard or shop bought, but these were nice fresh and doughy. Lovely atmosphere, staff very friendly and knowledgable. Highly recommend.

Had a lovely meal at Enoteca last night. Loads of GF choices, even for me as a Veggie too! Scrummy Bruschetta to start, pizza (chef made his own gf bases fresh) and chocolate fudge cake, followed by coffee and Limoncello shot! Best of all as someone highly sensitive to gluten cross contamination - no side effects today! 😃😃 Two other tables near us were ordering GF meals too and the whole place was really busy. Can recommend it and will definitely be back!

We ordered a starter, some wine and mains. We received our wine and starter but over an hour later our mains still didn’t appear, even though people who were seated after us received their mains. Not good.

The service was good but the quality of the food was bad. We had pizzas and lasagna and we were quite disappointed. The ingredients were as if they had been in the fridge for a long time and the flavour was almost tasteless.

Had a 4 day City Break in York and this was the first restaurant I went to on my first night here. Just had to make another booking here for my final night, as the quality of the food, staff attentiveness and the general experience was 5 star. A definite recommendation.

OMG if you are ever out in york this place is a must to go to Myself & my wife booked here on a Monday evening 7pm When we walked in we thought we aren’t going to get a table the room was packed we got taken upstairs only 1 table left then realized there is even more tables up another level We had the mussels to start with I then had the belly pork it melted in your mouth so delicious i even ate my greens with it My wife had the seabass she loves her seafood and wasn’t disappointed We made room for some cheesecake as well So stuffed so delicious when we come back to york we will definitely book here again The service as well is brilliant and we never felt rushed while we was in there absolutely brilliant

One pizza missing and restaurant "too busy" to help, so not enough to feed all of us. Very poor customer service. The pizzas that arrived were cold and small - certainly not worth the money. Very disappointing. Would have been better with supermarket pizza for a third of the price. Would definitely not recommend.
