Amazing italian food, really well priced, lovely staff, lovely atmosphere. Went there twice on our stay at York, really would recommend and would happily go again! I had the fillet steak one evening and it was hands down the best steak I've ever had, melted in the mouth! Really Really happy with this restaurant not one bad thing to say about it!

Lovely restaurant just over the bridge. They have a good menu with a nice seating areas & well staffed. You can order from the main menu / daily specials or the set 2 / 3 coarse house menu. All was perfect until I decided on the house menu giving me a soup & lasagne . Asking if I could have the meat instead of vegetarian [50p extra on main menu], I was told unfortunately not, as the computer system would not allow it. Ordered the meat lasagne anyway & unfortunately not able to have the starter included with set menu. Just goes to show how sad it is these places just want your money & offer no real customer service.

Wow wow wow. We had a group of 29 of us for my sister's hen and with a mix of dietary requirements. Thank you Tana and Charlotte for all your help, we had a delicious meal and a wonderful time. The food came out hot and well timed. The staff were all friendly and made sure that we had everything we needed! I'll definitely be coming back.

The service was amazing but the let down for me was the lasagne they're was no layers and I had been looking forward to a good lasagne. The crazy thing is I've had better supermarket ones which is sad as everything else was fantastic. The ribeye steak was of good quality and my wife said she enjoyed her pizza.

We stumbled in here and had the loveliest night. Delicious pastas and seafood - special mention to the mussels. The wine was flavoursome and delicious as recommended by the host who was so inviting and friendly. Can’t wait to go back.

Spur of the moment visit - was not disappointed. Very busy. Good serving staff who were well organised in a very busy but cosy dining area (apparently there is an extra room upstairs). Excellent authentic Italian food. Our choices of belly pork and sea bass were top notch.

Found this place by accident. Don't go into York often. Couldn't believe the prices for set menu, especially in York. Hubby and I had starters. Only MINOR thing for me was too much olive oil, but that's me. Mains were delicious. Staff aware of everyone and, thankfully not coming up after a mouthful asking, everything ok "guy's". Hate that. Glad we found it and definitely will be back.

The restaurant was lively and the service and food excellent. Good value for money. The only problem was that every time the door opened there was a cold draught.

Fantastic evening meal at Enoteca, great selection of foods to please any palate. Choice of a fixed or al-a-carte menu’s. We had the 10oz Rump steak which came perfectly cooked and the chips were nicely seasoned. Definitely recommend if you want a lovely meal.

Dined for mothers day. Unfortunately we had issues with one of our meals, it was supposed to be vegan but came out as the none vegan version. Usually I would deduct a star for that at least, but our host was so accommodating and kind that I absolutely cannot fault it. The food was delicious, great value, and issues handles fantastic! Would absolutely come again. Thank you x

Fantastic meal! We had the set menu which was varied and good value. Brilliant steak in particular. Quick, friendly service (the couple next to us complained that their bolognese came with rigatoni and not spaghetti when the menu had clearly said rigatoni… the staff didn’t bat an eyelid and got it changed..!!). Great to see it so busy on a Monday night.

Deceptively spacious as there's three floors! Service was friendly and super super quick. Great set menu £22 for 2 courses. I had the special aubergine starter and I could've eaten a huge bowl of it, it was delicious. Highly recommend. Partner has the steak for an extra £4. Also very good and cooked perfectly. Would recommend for sure for a simple but super tasty meal

Excellent service and good food, nice atmosphere inside

I’ve experienced Italian food in many place over the years, including in Manhattan’s Little Italy, but the food here at Enoteca is quite simply the best I’ve ever had. I’m not a huge eater and I usually can’t finish what I’ve ordered. Not here though! It was so good I consumed it all.

We popped in for a saturday lunch. Very friendly staff and lovely ambiance. The food (I had lasagne) was wonderful. Highly recommended.

This place was lovely. A very warm welcome from the front of house and the waiting staff. Lovely people. Food was excellent. We ordered bread and olives and were given a lovely surprise of a really warm flatbread, and plenty of it too. The olives were very enjoyable as was the ramekin of olive oil and balsamic. Main courses were the Sea Bass oven baked with a lobster sauce and vegetables. A big plate of food but absolutely delicious. We also had the Linguini Carbonara with chicken. At first I thought it was a touch bland, but the flavour of the sauce really grew as I ate a very hearty plateful. Superb. Dessert was just for one of us, and I had the Chocolate Tartufo. It has always been a favourite, and it did not disappoint. It was absolutely beautiful. The smells coming out of the kitchen were amazing, and we saw pizzas arrive in the table next to us. They looked delicious and we're huge! Definitely for next time! Last nod of appreciation is to the wine list, which was dull.of Italian gems and well thought out. I had a beautiful glass of negroamaro. My only comment, the smallest size glass was 175ml. I'd have preferred a 125ml. Just a small comment. A real 10/10 place.

Went to this Italian restaurant and ordered from Specials Ravioli with beef and tomato sauce....I got a plate of tortellini instead with only tomato and onion sauce...taste was good but there was no beef in it and pasta was tortellini...how does this happen in an Italian restaurant which people say has a good reputation!

My wife and I ate here while visiting York and we were so happy that we did. The restaurant and staff are extremely charming, and the food was absolutely delicious. If we visit York again, we will certainly stop back here for dinner.

Food was very enjoyable with good sized portions. The children's menu was good value for money, with pizza and pasta options, a starter and dessert. There was only one waitress when we visited, but she was attentive and helpful. The ground floor restaurant area is quite small so easily becomes cramped with chairs backing onto each other. Upstairs looked fairly spacious.

Went for lunch with my mum, food was delicious and very reasonably priced for how full we were after! Our waitress Tana was also lovely and very attentive! I’m so happy that I decided to stop by and have an early dinner. I ordered the lasagna and let me tell you, it’s the BEST lasagna I’ve had. It’s cheesy, flavorful and made with love! Highly recommended restaurant if you are in York!

The food and service was excellent. My only disappointment was we was put in a room upstairs, which we felt wasn't used a lot. Hence the lighting and decor was a little poor. However other than that it was lovely

Visited York last year for the Christmas markets etc and found this place by chance as it was round the corner from our apartment and we really enjoyed it. Came back to York this year and looked for this place straight away for the excellent food, even more impressed this year! The owner remembered us which is such a nice touch, we definitely remembered him too because of his excellent hospitality. Food and service in this restaurant is second to none. Any time we visit York in future this will be a must and would recommend to all. We have already booked for the second night of our stay in York!

Small business that delivers a big punch The welcome through to the coffee at the end was a pleasure The staff are a credit to the owners didn’t catch the young girls name at front of house but what a lovely person Polite,funny and nothing too much trouble Kitchen staff produced an excellent meal that all four of us enjoyed I had the minestrone soup followed by belly pork (extra crispy) and the the lemon tart off the specials board Mmmmmmmmm Will definitely call here again when visiting York ❤️❤️

One of my favourite restaurants great food lovely staff brilliant atmosphere

4 of us ate on Saturday evening. Arrived at 8.30 straight to our table on the 2nd floor - no lift! Was tricky as ive had a hip replacement but i managed with support of my family! Thankfully there was a loo on the same floor!! Food was so delicious and the service was great. We were in York for a weekend but would definitely return and would recommend. Five stars!!

The restaurant feels like a small cosy place. The service was friendly and attentive. But unfortunately the food was very disappointing. The antipasti tasted fizzy and the risotto was all cream no flavour. They were having a bad day with a glitchy oven so perhaps if we had ordered pizza it would have been better. But we will not be going back.

Starters were good. Main course was average at best and we left hungry. My partner was given the wrong dish I then had to wait with my food going cold. There was no offer of a good will gesture and the waiter who got the order wrong even asked for a tip at the end. We did the two courses ‘deal’ which actually cost us more than the standard menu.

Best Italian, super amazing staff and a very authentic feel. Can’t rate highly enough!

Went for dinner with a friend to celebrate our birthdays. I had the spaghetti meatballs and these were fine (although surprisingly spicy). My friend had the truffle raviolis and was very disappointed. She could not taste the truffle as it was drowned in tomato sauce, and the presentation was not great; it looked a bit like canned raviolis just thrown into a plate. I recommend the Tiramisu though, very tasty.

Very good and kids mean was a great deal.

Lovely restaurant and amazing service, staff were so friendly, helpful and welcoming! Food and drinks were quick to come but great quality, everything was brilliant. Very accommodating as I had dietary restrictions, couldn’t recommend enough!

We visited Enoteca on Thursday evening after it being recommended by the staff at our hotel. We called in in the afternoon to book a table for later that night, when we arrived to dine we were greeted warmly. Service was speedy without feeling rushed and all the staff we're lovely, in particular the manager/owner whose name I didn't catch and Lynn, one of the waitresses who served us. We were a table of 3 and all ate from the 2 course set menu, all of our starters and main meals were delicious. Next time we're in York we'll definitely be heading back!

Quiet mid afternoon late lunch with wife and son. All three of us enjoyed the meals and would come again. And because our son was with us, we got the student discount.

It was very enjoyable, a nice place and made you feel warm, and the staff were nice and smiling and quick to place your order even though it was full. Great experience and the food tasted great. We were six people, but the price was a little high, but I think it was worth it.

We visited Enoteca By L’uva on October 13, 2023. We both ordered the two course lunch. She ordered the tomato-basil soup and vegetarian lasagna, me antipasto and Diavolo pizza. The service was great (Soofyane), the atmosphere perfect, the staff attentive, yet not rushed. Superior ingredients, a lovely setting, an incredible meals.
