The best restaurants in Richmondshire Yorkshire and The Humber

Called here for a few drinks at 8:45pm on the way home to the caravan park. Upon arrival door was open and lights on, to all intense and purposes a welcoming pub. However to our disbelief we were turned away in a rude manor as by an obnoxious man at the end of the bar, who was the landlord, To be told abruptly that the he had cashed up the till and only had one person in. We were left to our own devices outside the pub in the pouring rain while we had to ring a taxi. In this time the landlord let two people out of the venue and stoked up the fire! Even in troubling times times this landlord does not want custom. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

We tried the carvery at the Cricket Club after googling around for a decent carvery in the Catterick area. When we arrived the whole setup was very reminiscent of a school dinner. All the meat was already pre-carved, so that the whole thing works as a one big conveyer belt. The quality however is very average and most of the ingredients are clearly made from frozen. I’d recommend a Toby carvery over this. But it was edible.

Visited while having a weekend at our sons, the staff were very friendly and welcoming, seating was good, and there was a good choice of food on the menu, starter's were ok, the wild mushroom bruschetta was really nice, but the crispy chicken not so good, mains were large, the trio of pork was very tasty,but unfortunately the fish and chips was very greasy and was sent back. Would return though because of the staff.

I think this pub is closed now .it was very bleak but what an amazing place we had a drink with the owner. His mum had passed .

Called in late afternoon after a long journey. The place was freezing cold inside ! Ordered the delicious sounding homemade lemonade but was told quite bluntly no, no one ever orders it! Also ordered a homemade scone and asked for it to be served cold but was rudely told that they had to be microwaved from frozen. Wouldn’t recommend or go back but it did provide us with a bit of Fawlty Towers type entertainment! Sadly, judging by other reviews this wasn’t a one-off.

We honestly thought we were on the set of Fawlty Towers. Or an episode of candid camera. A very bizarre evening with one disaster after another - one we'll remember for all the wrong reasons!

Warm welcome today, lady serving said they were new to the pub , her husband was in the kitchen. We ordered from menu which was adequate for lunch , hot beef sandwiches with fries, hot and delicious. We wish the new management luck in their new venture and hope people will give this pub a chance. We will be back.

Worst KFC meal I have had - tables dirty, cold in the seating area due to air con and the meal really wasn't great- our tower burgers had a dark coloured hard, greasy, crunchy overcooked coating with dry chicken inside. Perhaps it had been sat too long waiting for it to be sold? It certainly wasn't fresh. Would be wary about eating chicken from there again. Not had this experience in a KFC before. Maybe someone higher up should be checking in occasionally to check on hygiene/food safety standards......

This coffee wagon/cart is situated in Richmond Park. More specifically near to Pen Pond. Although there is seating outside, the whole ambiance is not that special. Nor are the items on offer. Very expensive items too (I guess if you’re there, you’re a captive audience!!!)

Poor dot com can’t fault the staff very helpful but sandwiches should be made fresh we waited 30 mins to be served so please consider visiting

AVOID. Certainly the worst Chinese take away I have ever been to. The food was verging on inedible. Half a bag of prawn crackers just topped it off.

Great service with a smile from a Scottish lady. Shame they don’t do sprinkles on their ice cream. And why oh why do they only accept cash. Everybody uses contactless and card these days. Will visit again.

Llegué a un bar lleno, ya que había una fiesta de bodas en. Solo 2 camareros en edades tan esperadas para conseguir bebidas. Deje que el restaurante sepa que estábamos en el bar para que pudieran llamarnos cuando nuestra mesa estaba lista. Nadie vino a buscarnos así que entramos en el restaurante cuando llegó nuestro momento . Me sorprendió descubrir que éramos la única mesa comiendo esa noche [un sábado]. La camarera encantadora tomó rápidamente nuestros entrantes de pedido y la red principal. Después de un tiempo ella volvió a notificarnos que algunos de los suministros ordenados no estaban disponibles. Había 8 platos principales para elegir en el menú. . . . Tres de ellos no estaban disponibles, y éramos los únicos que comíamos. Esperamos más de 30 minutos para los entrantes y finalmente perseguimos a un camarero para nuestra comida. Nos dijeron que la comida estaba lista pero no tenían a nadie que llevara la comida a la mesa. Cuando llegó mi eglefino smk arancini solo estaba caliente en el medio, así que no sé cuánto tiempo había estado sentado en la placa caliente de la cocina. La red eléctrica era pobre. Tenía pescado y patatas fritas y las patatas estaban frías. Si un hotel no puede hacer frente a una mesa de 6 cuando hay una boda, entonces cierre su restaurante. No volverá.

Our first trip to Leyburn ruined by this cafe experience. Went with my you family. You need a pin to go the dingy toilet, there are signs everywhere telling you not to do something, it says it’s dog friendly but it definitely is not children friendly, the menu is overpriced, the staff are rude, it is called a cafe and does not act as a cafe, the old male waiter needs to be let go as he makes unkind comments that make you feel uncomfortable. I only stayed as we were very hungry, but really should’ve walked out and got a meal deal from the co-op. I will not be returning and urge all to not bother in the first place. I am surprised that it is even open.

As we were in store topping up our groceries it was convenient to call in the cafe. Couple of cappuccinos and a couple of cheese and hsms toasties served up promptly, efficiently and very tasty they were too. Nice friendly staff and a spacious and clean dining area.
