Lovely welcome and friendly staff. We called in after a walk for a pub lunch and were not disappointed. Good selection of pies, Yorkshire Puddings with fillings and Ciabattas. Very dog friendly pub.

Stopped on passing for mid-week lunch. Bars nicely cosy and beer well kept. We waited an age for food and having ordered pork and Yorkshire pudding we were told 30 mins later pork was off. The food was like bad school dinners. 'Fresh' veg was definitely frozen and cold and the Cumberland sausage definitely low quality regular sausage. Gravy jelly-like and potatoes cold and overcooked. Ham egg and chips better but still not worth the money. Really poor food. Saved by the beer. Don't eat here!

Beer well kept. Proprietor bordered on rude. Beef sandwich required strong jaws, and the tomato soup looked and tasted suspiciously like Campbell's finest!

Honestly this is possibly the worst food I’ve ever had put down in front of me! DO NOT EAT HERE! Staff are friendly and obviously embarrassed serving the food leaving the kitchen! Ordered 5 roast beef dinners, not one thing on the plate had been roasted! The beef is cooked and sliced at the butchers down the road apparently! Anyway basically just sandwich beef not a Sunday roast. Veg on the plate! All frozen, peas carrots and green beans! Obviously being in Yorkshire you’d expect fresh Yorkshire puddings! Well no such luck just frozen ones from bid food or brakes! Now a meal like this has its place, in a prison I’d suggest and this is where these owners belong charging £19 for that muck. I didn’t even let the waiter put it down in front of me once I saw the rest of the tables arriving! I told him I wouldn’t waste my money on that trash and sent it back to kitchen. Obviously cashing in on the tourist market just avoid at all costs! It’s the staff I feel sorry for as they will all soon be out of a job at that rate

We went to the Rose and Crown at lunchtime today. The boards outside started it opened at 12am. Other people were outside waiting to get on too. We waited till 12.15 then another gentleman walked round the back of the pub where the publican was out the back and told him they weren't opening at lunchtime. Why have boards outside stating they'd be open at lunchtime for food if they had no intention of opening. They should have removed the boards. Will never go back again and we holiday this area frequently!! 🤬

This is an amazing location, right at the heart of the Dales. We love the Dales, but this pub could do with investment and good staff. We ordered a drink, but noticed Dog poo in the entrance. In ordere to stop it being tramped into the pub we mentioned it to Bar guy, who said he would get someone to deal with it. Nice evening so we sat ourtside. Poo remained untouched ... eventually after30 mins. a member of staff moved a triangular sign over it. I wonder what the food hygeine rating is??

Now I know why it was practically empty. Easily the worst meal I've had in a long time and vastly overpriced. Frozen veg, stale dry skinny chips and the "pastry" on the pie was tasteless mush. Clearly the whole mess had just been microwaved. The filling of the pie was ok so I made the best of a bad job, the staff were pleasant but this place is dire.

We booked an evening meal as we were staying local. Gorrr we were very disappointed ☹️ Pub is in a great prominent spot in the village with great views but…….. Once inside and shown to the restaurant area it was dull, drab and pretty miserable looking. We were the only 2 people in. We ordered the last two portions of beef Sunday roasts. A family of 4 then arrived so we didn’t feel so alone in a restaurant. Eeeee!! We when they arrived I was stunned When in Yorkshire I’d hoped for real homemade Yorkshire pudding as it’s something that Yorkshire locals normally pride themselves upon. 2 basics very small Yorkshire puddings, 2 slices of wafer thin beef as you’d get from the deli counter for a sandwich, the mash tasted as if it was packet/maybe frozen, frozen sliced carrots 🥕 4 small roasted potatoes, reasonable portion of green beans and the cauliflower was the very small bits in the bottom of the frozen bag, not 1 decent floret. The gravy certainly wasn’t made with any meat juices, very watery. The whole dinner wasn’t very hot in temperature either. Definitely not worth the £39 we paid for 2 sort of loosely termed roast dinners (£15.75 each) and a lager and a small coke. The family on the next table weren’t impressed either when they ordered the large Yorkshire pudding with Cumberland sausages, and it came with a pork sausage and then they had no more left so gave them a vegetarian one without even asking if it was ok. Which wasn’t eaten. I really don’t know how they can advertise on the board outside “Home cooked food” We very very disappointed and would never return or recommend this pub to anyone for anything to eat…☹️👎

2 hungry cyclists after riding the hills. We ordered pie and mash with extra gravy and it went down a treat. The food was standard but good pub grub. However the best part about the experience was the friendliness of the staff, from bar staff, the waitress, the chef and the landlord. Everyone made time to chat with us and make us feel welcome. I’m looking forward to my next visit!

I'm a bit surprised to read some of the other reviews for this pub. It's certainly not pretentious and full of poseurs and frankly if you're looking for that sort of pub you would be disappointed. We had two fabulous meals there ( extremely generous portions and a proper filled meat pie!) Very reasonably priced and the locals were friendly and welcoming. I loved the fact that it was the sort of old fashioned pub that rarely exists today.I enjoyed the homely atmosphere and found it very refreshing that there was not the paranoia about COVID which seemed to prevail in some of the other pubs in the Yorkshire Dales. Very good value for money and I found the landlord very friendly and accommodating.

We came here for a meal last December a very friendly welcome, and we found the food to be wholesome, tasty and great value, so had to come again. There is nothing pretension about this place and to be truthful the decor is set in a time warp. Medieval meets Fawlty Towers just about describes it. But that is where the similarity ends. Dogs are allowed in the restaurant and ours was treated to a bowl of roast beef, followed by a bowl of ice water. All the meals here are HUGE and I everyone said that they wouldn't finish it, but they did. Except me, I had leave some chips. The food is traditional fare and as I said plenty of it.Definitely a visit to see the beautiful tiled hallway floor and the carved wood furniture. You can imagine Oliver Cromwell staying there. But, don't go if you had a huge lunch or breakfast!!!Love Bill (the chef) to bits, a great character. Will be going again.

What an eye opener! So on arrival we got to our rooms, lovely furnishings and welcoming staffArrive to our rooms and the shower for starters - it was like dribbles coming out. Whatever you do- don’t flush the toilet prior to having a shower or you get intermittent water coming out! Food - expensive for what it is and the quality isn’t there Bar area - no heating, beer selection is bland, beer tasting like tatty water.Bar staff - friendly but they don’t seem to be firing on all four cylinders Towels - so we have 3 random towels and one of them is like a skirt - after speaking to other guests- they have the same but not a clue what it’s for All in all, I can say I won’t be staying here again but if you’ve stayed here before then you would understand what I mean by faulty towers. Bank holiday weekend was busy in the Dales. We booked early for the Rose and Crown as it was conveniently located. We were welcomed by very friendly staff who were very patient and we felt very comfortable with the arrangements. The decor is a little tired but its not the end of the world. Our table was spaced well away from others. All good so far.Good choices on the menu and a good choice of specials. The homemade pies are to be recommended.... they are generous and possibly the best pie I can remember. The roast was had by 2 of our party and was also very good. The desserts were very good too... just what you want after a long day! Prices are reasonable. The staff were really kind and our 2 year old grandson was treated like a king. Many thanks to the Rose and Crown for a great meal. I will return next time we are in the Dales.

Saw Rose and Crown from outside during a walk through Bainbridge and liked the look of it. Greeted by very friendly welcoming staff (if a little quirky in manner). Ordered home made vegetarian pie and Chef Bill came to ask if we'd mind waiting 15 minutes as it was just cooking. Great sign - obviously fresh home made. It was lovely and came with fresh mash, vegetables and loads of vegetarian gravy. Finished meal with latte from coffee menu (again quirky - with choices of latte, cappuccino or "normal"!!!). Venue is in obvious need of update but Bill explained that his priority as new to role was to get food up to standard to get people back through the door as previous reviews were very poor. Think he deserves a chance as food was so good we went back again and Bill made vegetarian lasagne especially for us. Good luck in the future Bill and team!

The lamb pie had good chucks of lean lamb and the sticky toffee pudding delicious. Having visited the Rose and Crown in the past this visit was to be our last. The young waitress, who had great difficulty with the English Language. was the only person doing all the work. at the very busy bar, taking orders, and clearing tableswhile the Landlord didn't do much apart from giving orders. Our meal was brought in by a very strange man who almost threw our meals at us in a a very unpleasand ignorant manner. I dared to ask him if I could have some mayonnaise since there were no condiments on the table. He muttered something, glowered at me and eventually returned with it. The young waitress came over and apologised for his behaviour saying that he was in a very bad mood. Our meals were not up to standard and over priced for what they were. We asked several times for our bill, the Landlord said he couldn't do it because he couldn't read the waitresses writing. I told him we had to leave then and eventually he did do it. An unpleasant atmosphere in the entire place and most people were appearing to be of the same opinion as us,.I agree with previous comments as we too remarked at the time, that it was like visiting The Adams family. Bainbridge is a lovely village, what a shame about the awful pub.

It's the only pub/restaurant in this small village. We were the whole day discovering stunning Yorkshire Dales, tried in many places to have an early dinner but we found that many pubs (especially in smaller villages) don't serve meals before 6 or 7pm or don't do meals at all. So we decided to have a dinner at his pub/restaurant. Free car park is on the back of the premises. We came sometimes after 6.30pm and already nearly all tables had reservation. We managed to have one of two free tables which was near to the back entry. As it was cold day we ordered soup of the day as a starter, as a main meal I ordered Hunter's chicken with fries and my husband steak and kidney pie and we had also glass of beer. We did wait a bit as it was really busy but we didn't mind as the meal was good and warm. The staff was very friendly. Bainbridge is very much visited with tourists who use this place as well as locals do so I would recommend to make reservation if you know you want to have dinner there.

Not the place to try traditional Yorkshire fare. The food took 45 minutes to arrive, we lost our hunger waiting so long. I thought I'd give the big Yorkshire pudding as go. What a waste. Bainbridge is such a lovely setting and this old pub has so much potential but the meal we just had was like a caricature of everything bad about school dinners and mass catering. The blackboard said “pies galore” as if they were a speciality. My steak and ale pie was like a piece of carpet, dry and stringy and almost impossible to cut. A combination of baking then freezing then reheating somehow had left no moisture. Veg was boiled to mush and chips were flabby with an ugly brown hue from old oil and its residue. Other dishes looked equally grim. The beer is fine, the wine basic but fine. Talking to locals and reading other reviews it’s clear there is a problem with the management of this place. I hope to return to discover that someone new has arrived and turned it around. Such a waste of a great building and location.

As reportedly the oldest Inn in the Yorkshire Dales at circa 1445 there’s no doubting that the Rose and Crown is a fine example of centuries-old English pub architecture; cosy nooks and crannies, beams crossing at seemingly irregular angles and a huge fireplace. So why then would we stay three nights in the Village of Bainbridge and end up seeking alternative refreshment on our third evening?

Sunday and Monday we frequented this pub spending at leat £300+ On Monday night Albeit it was10.30pm on a tab for food and drinksFrom about 6.30ish we were x 6 treated with the upmost customer service by a lovely young lady. Nothing was too much trouble. Everything we asked for was no trouble at all. We were having a great family get together. Never laughed so much in months. In an instance this lovely lady vanished and all of a sudden we were confronted with a middle aged man who wanted to settle up the tab before 11.20pm, and if we didn't comply he said the transaction wouldn't go through. This certainly changed the ambience making our party all feel that the middle age man really wanted us gone. After spending a tremendous amount of money we didn't feel that we were appreciated or welcome. Hence we never frequented this pub again and went to Asgrigg or Hawes to avoid the inhospitality of this man with no manners who had no rapport with customers. It is a shame as it is "The only pub in the village"

I don't know what some people are after! We stopped after a long walk, really wanting a bite to eat on our long drive home, just the two of us and our rather large lab/collie cross. I have to say we were made very welcome. The girls (didn't see any male staff) were very friendly and efficient, yes one was a little more direct but definitely not rude. We got the last table in the 'snug' I think and following a pint of bitter shandy, wine and lemonade and a bowl of water we chose the steak and ale pie and Cumberland sausage in a large Yorkshire, both with 3 veg, chips (the proper kind) and the most glorious gravy I have tasted in a long while. The food was so hot, tasted very fresh and was just what was needed. The other guests didn't mind the dog. We topped it off with a single helping of summer fruits crumble and custard. Absolutely fab meal. We didn't stay long as we wanted to get back on the road but would definitely either stop again or recommend it to others. I was in the mid price range I would say - not cheap and cheerful but worth the price and no stinging on the portion size. The building is not modern, of course it was built in the 1400's, I would love to explore a little and see more of the history. All in all a great little find.

A smaller, cheaper option should be available My "quick lunch" took over an hour and cost nearly £20 (including two excellent pints of Blacm Sheep). I enjoyed it but needed a good nap afterwards.

A very nice village pub. Good beer, clean and comfortable. Pleasant staff. Can sit outside on a nice day. As always outdoors tends to be dominated by smokers, but that is just a fact of life nowadays.

Went here just for a drink in March17. The sign outside stated 'a warm and friendly welcome every time'. We certainly didn't find this at all. The bar staff were quite rude and we wanted to tell her to tell her face she was happy! Won't be going back which is a shame because it's the only pub this lovely village has. It could be a good earner in the right hands.

Seeing some previous reviews I am surprised as we had a wonderful experience. The staff and chef where friendly and nothing was too much trouble. We both have soup to start which was just delish I then had the gammon with plenty veg and my hubby had the Cumberland sausage and mash with plenty veg. Highly recommended. Portions are huge.

We stayed in the village and this being the only pub we had dinner there.we were welcomed and our dog was no problem for the host .The pub had a annual dinner that night, so the chef was pushed but managed to cope with the demands and the meal was hot and ok.

After walking we arrived quite late in the afternoon, and were surprised to find out that they were still serving, what a blessing. What huge portions. They were serving huge Yorkshire pudding filled with meat. My partner chose a roast dinner, with vast amounts on his plate. I had salmon fishcakes which tasted good.Although it was not very busy being late Sunday afternoon there was a nice atmosphere with other walkers eating and drinking there.

We enjoyed a fantastic "surf and turf" which was freshly cooked and extremely tasty. The log fire was very welcome on a cold night in January too. The staff were all very welcoming and friendly. Looking forward to returning in the summer when, we were told, the pub is a lot busier and booking is essential. The kids will love playing in the park on the village green opposite too!

We stayed a few minutes walk from this pub at hazels roost , cannot stress how helpful they were . We enjoyed a few drinks on our arrival day (drinks very reasonably priced) and booked a table close to the beautiful warm open fire for an evening meal . Unfortunately we had to cancel later due to my partner being ill, however I rang and asked about take away which they do not usually do, but under the circumstances they were able to accommodate me. Wrapped and plated up, I collected and enjoyed a lovely homemade cheese onion pie at my B&B I returned the cutlery the following day . We were then able to eat there that evening My partner had a sirloin steak said it was one of the best he had eaten !! I had steak pie which was delicious, however a very very large portion for me so wasn't able to eat it all! Dog friendly too even whilst your eating ! Would highly recommend this pub if your visiting the area . Thank you to the staff and especially the Chef for being so understanding

Went to this pub after a walk in the area, and chose it due to the signs outside proclaiming that walkers and dogs were welcome. The local idea of welcome must be different to mine, as the female staff member was so disinterested it had to be seen to be believed. After having no acknowledgement other than a scowl, we took it upon ourselves to look around for a table.I have never been in a pub where a staff member has stood behind a bar, with no other customers, and made no effort to serve me.For the first time in my life, I left a pub without a drink, meal or a regret. There are other pubs in other villages, I suggest you try one of them, it could hardly be worse.

We recently stayed in the village and had booked a meal here however after calling in for a drink on our first night and the very rude manner of the man, don't know if he was the landlord or the chef but after his attitude towards customers we decided not to return for a meal.

We booked our large family of 14 people into this restaurant for a meal on Boxing Day 2016. This pub sits overlooking a village green. It has a roaring open fire and a dining area. We were staying in the village over Christmas so we were thrilled to find such a lovely place to eat so close to our holiday home. We cannot fault this restaurant. From the start the staff were lovely, Very accommodating and friendly. The chef could not have done anything more to make our day special. We had 7 children in the group and a vegan. Although the pub did not have any vegan dishes on the menu the chef kindly said he would make something extra for her on the day.The food was faultless, tasty and there was plenty to eat. We all left empty plates. The staff were brilliant with the children and we were made to feel very welcome.Excellent value for money. I would certainly come back.

Myself and my family (14 in total) booked a meal for Boxing Day as we were staying in a cottage nearby. From the moment we booked we could not have asked for more. Bill the chef was brilliant. He was so helpful and friendly and went out of his way to accommodate us. He shared with us lots of local things that were happening in the pub in the coming days. I am a vegan and bill was lovely and offered us so much help with our meal choices etc. There was nothing on the menu for a vegan but Bill offered to make me something which was really good of him and not something many places would do. We felt very welcome when we arrived and the food was gorgeous. My son said it was the best burger he had ever tasted and my husband loves his meat pie. The staff were so lovely. We had 7 children with us and the staff were really good and patient with them they all had a lovely night. I would definitely recommend this place for a good family meal in a beautiful setting. Big shout out to Bill the chef as he really could not have done any more. We will definitely return

We should have turned round after first entering the Rose and Crown as the strong tap room type smell first hit us. But having made a reservation we proceeded to the small bar area where 5 tables were set. A friendly couple also dining made us feel at home. Our meal was large, the steak was poor quality , and something on my plate tasted of sausage fat. Nothing nice about the presentation either. If it hadn't been for meeting some delightful people our evening would have been a let down. Wouldn't go back. What a shame for such a pub in a prime location.

I booked my overnight room by phone well in advance and, when I was in the region, dropped in to try to book a further room for a family member, only to be told that though they had several rooms available, thy might get a better offer than my 'one- nighter' so they were unwilling to let me book. I was less than charmed by this response, and considered cancelling the booking I had made. I had also read several reviews before booking, and local people I met said they would not have recommended staying there, but, on balance, I had a deep hot bath, a comfortable night's sleep and a decent breakfast, with largely pleasant and friendly, if not very polished or effective service. The real issue for me is that this pub/hotel could be so much better! It has a lot going for it in terms of the charming old building, its prime position in a very attractive village in the heart of a National Park, lots of nooks and crannies and lovely old furniture, BUT it's in desperate need of updating to match what is generally available in pub accommodation these days, and to live up to the expectations modern customers will certainly bring with them. The rooms are basic and dated, the carpets are worn, old-fashioned and look grubby, the doors don't fit properly and the bathrooms are simply old and past it.In my room, the sash window opened but wouldn't stay open, the carpet was frayed and badly fitted, a double socket was hanging off the wall and the one lamp provided kept flickering off, as it apparently had a loose connection. Both curtains and towels were washed-out, past their best and need replacing. Not sure I would stay again, despite the practical advantage that the pub is close to where I want to be based. It was adequate for bathing and sleeping, but lacked the comforts and extras I like to find when staying away from home.

We were looking for a typical dales pub to stop and have lunch with the kids. This place looks stunning from the outside so we decided to stop. Inside, the first waitress huffed when we told her there were five of us. The other woman who served was equally vacuous and indifferent to customer service. No pleases or thank yous, let alone a smile. The menu was basic but we order three burgers for the kids, steak and kidney pie and a lamb rack with mint gravy. The two adults' meals were served with dry butter beans, ameamic cauliflower and instant gravy. My wife left most of the lamb as it was flab, not meat and even my five year old said his burger was disgusting! The happiest member of the family was my dog, as he got to finish the burgers. A real, real shame.

We popped in for lunch as we were passing through Bainbridge. There was a limited choice of beer, but the Black Sheep ale was very nice. The roast beef sandwich was very tasty as were the chips. What lets this place down is the dated decor and the staff!

The Rose and Crown is in a great location for the village. It is very local, us outsiders were kept in a separate room and the door was kept firmly shut. If a local did pass through this door, it was shut again quickly before anyone else could go through. The food is cheap, big portions, but not what you want if you want a decent meal. There were big smelly dogs in the main area too. It's fine to pop into, but if I could've gone anywhere else I would have done.

This is a really lovely, traditional Yorkshire pub. We both really enjoyed our meals. My lamb casserole was served in a giant Yorkshire pudding with mash potato, it was really delicious but a little too large. First time at this pub, walked in and should have gone by my gut instinct and walked out.l thought l would give it a chance. Firstly the staff are mostly foreign and have poor English skills. It was hard work ordering food and felt uncomfortable. The food arrived within a few minutes and looked if it had just been thrown on the plate. It was all precooked and warmed up in the microwave. It was tasteless and poor quality. We decided that we would leave the pub and take a pint outside, in the end we paid and left, as the staff member could not understand our request. Totally unacceptable and frustrating for a Yorkshire village pub. There was no welcome, there are clearly staff and management issues. It was quite frankly one of the worst dining out experiences l have ever had.

What you would expect of a Yorkshire Dales pub.Accommodated 10 adults and two children easily for lunch. Landlord a real Yorkshire character, food 10 out 10, try the pies you won't be disappointed, good Yorkshire portions. So impressed with food and atmosphere we intend to return soon for a short stay.Thank you Rose and Crown

Ordered from the 'Home made pie' specials board, pie was good however vegetables were very tasteless & chips were dry & hard - like they had been cooked a week ago! The toilets had carpets (even in the loo cubicle) and the carpets were stained & messy. Plaster coming off the walls & no hand drier or towels. I will definitely not go back!

Recently stayed for 1 night in the Rose & Crown whilst attending a wedding at the Yorebridge House Hotel. Was not sure what to expect after reading some of the reviews. This is an old countryside pub and yes the décor was a little dated but what do you expect for a pub in the middle of the Yorkshire dales that obviously welcomes walkers/bikers and day visitors. There was a slight issue with our room as the bin had been emptied. This was quickly resolved by the bar staff after we reported it to them. I ordered the steak 'n' ale pie from the 'homemade pies galore' menu and I have to say it was packed with steak and a rich thick gravy which tasted delicious. The chef and bar staff are very friendly and welcoming. The price of the room/food & beers was reasonable and what a lovely location.Would I stay here again the answer is yes. If you are expecting fine dining and 5 star accommodation then you need to look at the hotel just down the road (slightly more expensive).

We were a little concerned seeing so many mixed reviews, but we ate there on 2 successive evenings and thoroughly enjoyed it. The pies are home made, and obviously so; no commercial pie maker would fill a pie so generously. The beef in a giant Yorkshire pudding was (so I'm told by my partner) absolutely delicious. No complaints from us, good food at a very fair price.

We called in on saturday evening in hope they had a table free for us to eat there. We was very lucky and given the last table available,we was made to feel very welcome by three very friendly ladies.drinks were served promptly,we chose to have pies off thier specials board. The food was served piping hot, with fresh perfectly cooked veg. The chef a very friendly guy came out to check we was happy with our food. The lamb and mint pie was beautifull. My partner had steak and ale and his was also very nice indeed. We would defiently visit again, all the food coming to over tables looks fantastic and great value for money. The pub its self is rustic, traditional and how you would expect to find a old country pub hidden in a rural village! We loved it..the food was top notch..yours pies are amazing..thankyou ☺

We popped in on a Monday night as all the pubs in the immediate area that we usually go to don’t open on a Monday We arrive at 5:30 opening time and were hardly greeted by Shannon We hadn’t booked, but she found us a table There was a lovely selection of beers and wines and an amazing menu with specials of the day On Mondays they do a night where you can get a sirloin steak for £12 with all the trimmings They also specialise in seafood and there were a number of dishes this included prawns lobsters, monkfish et cetera Who made soup of the day was courgette and sweet potato and this is delicious Between us, we had a steak and kidney pie and there’s also an option of a steak and kidney pudding and two of us had prawn and lobster Thermidor, which was delightful There is a very nice atmosphere in the restaurant. The staff are lovely and the toilets are clean. Thank you, Shannon to you and your colleagues and we very much look forward to our next physics

Ok for a coffee but the staff were terrified of any customers. Not allowed to use the toilet. Long wait for coffee. Shouted at to wear masks we were already wearing. Seemed paralysed by fear - I would avoid even trying to sit inside. They were happy for people to sit outside. Though it was raining hard. Such a shame as a delightful village and would have been a nice break from our walk.

Tried this lovely pub for the first time earlier this week with friends for an evening meal off the weekday menu. I had Scampi which was wholetail, light batter , served with the best chips I’ve had in ages . Others had chicken and burger, all were beautifully cooked and quality ingredients. Eaton Mess was spot on and the sticky toffee and custard had us drooling ! The atmosphere was what you’d want in a lovely cosy country inn, the owners were very friendly, service friendly and quick without feeling rushed. They also accommodated our 2 large dogs offering a nice treat and water. We loved it that much we’ve just returned from Sunday lunch !! Prawn cocktail starters were excellent, more prawn than salad 👍, soup, black pudding and bacon , all served with a warm crusty roll, all were very good. 3 of us had roast beef dinners and one roast pork - the veg was cooked perfectly, as were the mash and roast potatoes. Yorkshire pudding were just right. None of us could find space for a pudding but the menu has something for everyone. We shall most definitely return again.

Excellent place. Clearly this last year has new management as this was a very good experience for 10 of us for lunch en route to our long weekend in Leyburn. Cosy log fire. Welcoming hand pulled cask (theakstons) pulled properly. Food excellent so to the service. Kerb side from road hides a super set up from the back and inside.
