Worst KFC meal I have had - tables dirty, cold in the seating area due to air con and the meal really wasn't great- our tower burgers had a dark coloured hard, greasy, crunchy overcooked coating with dry chicken inside. Perhaps it had been sat too long waiting for it to be sold? It certainly wasn't fresh. Would be wary about eating chicken from there again. Not had this experience in a KFC before. Maybe someone higher up should be checking in occasionally to check on hygiene/food safety standards......

Not disabled friendly. Beware 2 hour parking limit - stay beyond that and you will automatically be hit with a £60 fine that doubles if you don’t pay quickly. Spent over two hours in the services (which was dead anyway with very few customers) so that my disabled father could have a rest and ended up with a fine. This is supposedly to stop people from overloading the carpark for the hotel but when there is an abundance of space I don’t see how this applies. Avoid these services. Poorly maintained, overpriced petrol, rats running around the bins and then on top of that you will be fined if you spend too long there. Head to the nearby towns for a much nicer experience.

During a drive from Ayr to Mildenhall on Friday 21st May 2021 we had what can only be described as a near-death experience when a lorry we were about to overtake violently and unexpectedly swerved across our path (we think the driver nodded off). It was lucky that the lorry actually stayed upright let alone regained control! Needing a swift change of underwear and a cleanup we stopped at Scotch Corner services and got a stiff coffee and some lunch and calmed ourselves down. However on leaving, and with what could have happened still on our minds, I forgot to pick up my leather jacket. This is a jacket that has sentimental value to me, given to me by a good friend who suddenly passed a few days later. It wasn't until arrivcing at our destination in Mildenhall that I relised the jacket was missing, and fearing the worst of human nature didnt for one minute believe I'd ever see it again. Amazingly it had actually been handed in (unfortunately I don't know who by as there is no record of that). My faith in human nature is restored! I spoke to a Louise from (I think) Burger King over the phone and she couldn't have been more helpful, although it was apparent she was having some difficulty understanding my address details. Because of that I called the next day but the connection wasn't great and again information was not satisfactory to the staff at the services. I received several return calls and messages but due to work commitments couldnt answer. Finally, one of the managers, Debbie H, left a message and her personal phone number for me to contact her to reiterate my address. The jacket is a heavy item and I knew postage costs would be high. But today the jacket has arrived back with me in perfect condition having been packed well and clearly addressed. The service by ALL staff at Scotch Corner was friendly from the outset, but I am particularly knocked out by their determination to return my jacket safely to the correct address, which had been initially incorrectly written. I was more than happy to cover the costs of the jacket's return, but Moto company policies are such that this cannot be done, and I am therefore exceeding the cost of the postage with a donation into a charity of Debbie's choice which I think is the Moto charity of the year, Help For Heroes. Full marks to all involved and particularly Debbie who went above and beyond by giving out her personal phone number to make it all possible!

These services include Costa, Greggs (open 6am until 6pm), the West Cornwall Pasty Company, Burger King, Marks and Spencer Food, WH Smith (open 24 hours), toilets, ample parking and an Esso petrol station that has extortionate fuel prices but a cash machine (free-to-use) and Spar store. There is also a Travelodge which has a separate car park but you have to register your car number plate. There is also a couple of spaces for electric cars for to recharge though this perhaps isn't enough. The one thing the services lack is a proper restaurant though there is one down the road in Middleton Tyas - the Shoulder of Mutton.

Got to Burger King to find it full of screaming kids. On their tops it said Edinburgh Diving team. The noise was awful and I am a teaching assistant so I am well used to being in a room full of excited kids but some of these kids were squealing at the top of their voice with the adults with them doing nothing. There must have been 30 kids at least. They took up all the tables with some kids only sitting two to a table when they could have easily all fit on less. The staff did brilliantly serving the adults the food to take to the kids. The adults were really rude and got a cob on when there was one drink missing. They were up and down demanding different things after they had all got their meals with no consideration for the other people in there. The staff would be serving someone else and they would butt in rudely asking for napkins etc Then the kids started throwing the free toys around (luckily they were soft) again the adults with them did nothing. There was one lad especially who was fantastic and deserves real praise. It was a real shame as he and the other staff started getting flack from other customers who had to wait. This was no fault of the staff at all. I am guessing this team just turned up and expected quick service without actually letting Burger King know. Then they all went to the toilet on mass after they had eaten (would have made sense to stagger it really) and the noise in the toilets were unbearable. I should imagine staff and customers alike breathed a sigh of relief when they left. We certainly did.

Stopped at scotch corner services today on the way back from a short break to refuel the car and ourselves. Was served by a patient and friendly lady in Greggs who tolerated my indecisiveness with a smile. Between us we (partner)managed to spill one of our mochas a little (lot) at the sugar table, but the other staff member working was so forgiving despite the tragic mess that we created for her.. we would have mopped most of it up had there been napkins there, but she said that they’d been non stop since 6am and not had time to refill them. We were given a new mocha despite it being our error and there being a good three quarters of the drink left. Overall they’re doing a grand job there and we apologise again for the mess!

Stopped off here on our way up North, not very well sign posted from the A1M north but found it. The car park is small and tight so be wary when trying to park, the layout of the shops and eateries is a little sporadic to say the least being scattered over the site. A little outdated for me needs a revamp we stopped off in Costa which was fine as costs coffee is costa coffee. Conveniences were clean although a few were out of action. If it’s a necessity to stop these services are ok but I would not plan them on any future route up North.

Nightmare. What should have been a 20 minute stop took over an hour. Most of this was getting on to the actual car park and this was with at least 3 stewards visible. Access to part of the car park was coned off so cars couldn't get parked. The steward then had nowhere to send the in traffic as no one could move due to the out traffic not moving. Only when another person arrived to help did traffic begin to move anywhere. Once we were parked there were plenty of spaces free. Needs better organisation of traffic on busy days. Our stop was about 15 minutes in the bay and 45 minutes in the queues.

This little chef restaurant was next to the Travelodge hotel where I stayed the night before. The breakfast was tasty and well cooked but not to include coffee in the cost of the breakfast was a real negative for me, so when adding a cappuccino coffee to the bill made it quite pricey. The beer here needs looking after by somebody who cares, even the Guinness tasted foul. The diners got all the attention, this is obviously more important to the landlord. He wasn't very sociable either. The pub itself is a lovely old place, very aesthetic, but spoiled by the actual product. I suppose this is a captive audience so maybe no need to try. The prices were well over the top too. A pint of foul tasting John Smiths bitter and a half of coke came to £5:25p. I often drive by here and that's what I'll do in future too, Drive by!!!

You get a toilet, shower, washer and dryer, all for free and just donation based. There were even laundry pods.
