Brewers Fayre Catterick Garrison in Richmondshire

We were on holiday in Leyburn and decided to visit the Brewers Fayre for Sunday Lunch. Very pleasant staff greeted us and we had a very enjoyable Sunday lunch. Good variety of roasts and vegetables. Would suggest booking for Sunday lunch

Breakfast service and food was nothing special. Never felt so unwelcome in any place I have ever visited. Arrived 9.50am for breakfast and there was 90% tables that said reserved so expected to get turned away but no, we paid for 2 breakfasts and off we went to hunt for a table of 2 or any table that didn’t have a reserved sign. Ended up sitting at a table to 8 which we never do but this was the only option. 2 staff on the floor, who really did not seem to want to be there. No smile, greeting or warmth. Breakfast items, well where shall I start. Eggs sitting in the fat cooking away, mushrooms drowning in their dish of water, beans drying out. Black pudding touched by a flame and then served up and no sausage. Now I know before we walked in it could have been busy so I appreciate there is always an opportunity to replenish but with so many tables reserved I very much doubt this had been thought of. Only when I asked for sausage for breakfast did a tray come out. As we sat on the biggest free table, more families and couples came in Hunting for free tables. Paying for breakfast first and then searching for the treasure of a unreserved table. One gentleman even asked the young girl while he was holding his full plate to be told ‘there may be some at the very back’. Like a say, it felt like we were all an inconvenience. Such a huge amount of space but clearly no one can run the section and actually speak to the customers and take control of service. If you want the business then welcome your customers and be hospitable. Be visible and mange the service!

A lovely hotel that we use a lot when travelling from Norfolk. It’s location is a great stop over point after a long drive from Norfolk if you are then driving up to Scotland 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 or borders or indeed into Yorkshire 👌 The staff are always friendly the hotel is clean and we have never found it to be noisy. It has it’s own bar and restaurant attached for extra convenience 👌 It has a large carpark beside it with a lot of stores scattered around. Absolutely awful cavery today, overdone parsnips, potatoes you could pave a drive with & dry stuffing! Will not be having a Sunday lunch there again

Excellent service. Stayed in attached Premier Inn. All staff excellent. Our waitress, Jennifer, attentive. Couldn’t do enough for us.

Visited with family for tea, we ended up taking things off of our meals when ordering and when there is 6 people all wanting to change what the meal comes with as standard it must be frustrating but the lady who served us on the bar was fantastic she was extremely patient and re read our order back to ensure it was right. Another lady came with sauces again she was fantastic. It’s such a warm and welcoming place. My son really struggles with new environments and was instantly calm when we walked in and remained calm throughout our visit. The food was lovely I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, the portion sizes are generous. We were served by Jam Jam, Sadie and paddy who were all extremely pleasant, understanding and welcoming. Will definitely be back again thank you 😊

My partner and I dined at Brewers Fayre over the weekend while visiting family and I must say the staff Sadie,Abbie, Caz, Emma, Jenna, chef Cumist and Charlie were absolutely amazing. The place was bright and inviting nothing was too much trouble and the food was outstanding hot and flavoursome. I would recommend going down and enjoying the food and the staff company. For such young staff they proved their weight in gold with their service skills and all with a positive attitude and smile to welcome you.

Food gone downhill. Used to be amazing when it first opened but now it's gone to the dogs. We've been 3 times in the last 2 years and after each visit we've either been sick or had other stomach issues. Breakfast this morning not worth the £9.99 each we paid: bacon, black pudding and fried eggs not cooked, scrambled eggs watery, hash browns overdone and mushrooms greasy. Think we'll stop trying. The 2 ladies working the floor were lovely though and can't fault them.

Amazing service from Jennifer one of the staff members she very polite and helpful 👍. The food was good for what we paid for, topped with the quality service to make our evening enjoyable.

Family lunch all had carvery and was lovely fresh and tasty the staff were lovely and helped us with everything we needed, Caroline on host was always happy and Jamie-Leigh who was on the bar was very chatty and polite

Was really good drinks, the cocktails were very tasty although slow, could do with more than one member of staff making them. The food was good but felt a but tight with the sauce so may need ti ask for extra in the future. I would say main thing that impacted us was the the waitress Jennifer, she was really into shouting everything and slightly intimidating until she wanted us to leave her a review where she was a more toned down and nicer towards us. Our other waitress jade was amazing and always cleaned our tables whenever anything was finished and asked if we needed anything else, overall she was very accommodating and welcoming.

Lovely food and drink and also music to sing along too (could be louder ;) and such a lovely waitress Jennifer, always making sure we were ok.

Emma, jade, paddy and Bryony were all attentive and kind. Jade and Emma were funny and polite when you first walk in and when ever you order at the bar, paddy and Bryony were attentive and kept themselves busy. Charlie, baz, John and Crystal did a great job with food.

Clean and friendly environment. Service was good. We ordered at the bar and took our drinks to the table. Bit of a wait for the food but we were in no rush. My friend's meal was wrong, this was sorted quickly however when the correct meal was served the small gravey pot had a large chip out of the rim. This was pointed out to the staff member when they cleared the plates. The food was nothing special, it was hot and tasted OK and of a standard to expect from a pub chain and nothing to get excited about. There was no rushing us out which was nice and we sat and chatted for a while before leaving.

Caz was really amazing and lovely, she brought joy to the table and made me and my friends feel very welcome.

Well up until the pudding the serving was good but after finishing my main course and sitting there for a hour waiting for dessert would understand if they was busy but It was dead with only about 10 people in the complete place

Good food and service, had a slight hiccup on the bill but the manager put it right immediately. Got very busy at lunchtime so keep this in mind if you visit here

Went for a carvery today it was a total let down this time the orange stuff that I took for mashed carrots was very tasteless and veggies that was on offer needed to be cooked for a little longer as cauliflower was rock-hard not very tasty either so felt let down thus vist ..

The food was terrible, had fish and chips major mistake. The fish on my plate was so rubbery had to leave it and my wife's wasn't much better. Chips were OK but nothing spectacular. Staff were friendly enough and very apologetic. Second time in ten years we've eaten there and both times not pleasant won't be going back for a third time ever.

Can't fry an egg! Seriously. Runny yolk and firm whites, how can't you do this? Also floppy black pudding! Is this a thing? I've always been led to believe it should be fried.

Had a work meal for someone leaving the company. Came during the day and the food and service was 1st class. The food was very good and worth the money Abbie & caz made sure all was well. Will return.

We went here last night for a quick bite to eat and a drink or two. From the moment we went it was amazing and so so friendly , especially Emma who took our order for food and drink. Got discount on blue light card so that was nice . Food came was lovely couldn’t fault it at all . Then ordered cheesecake and brought to our table by another very friendly member of staff. Was a lovely dessert too . The hungry horse was our local but as of last night brewers fayre will be our local as so so much better standards . Great for breakfast. Buffet style all you can eat for £9.99 which includes hot and cold options. Not the usual cheap food, good quality sausage and bacon, only downside is no fried bread!

Had a Sunday Carvery that was delicious. All fresh and hot and the meat was moist and tasty. One of our family is in a wheelchair all her accessible needs were met. We'll definitely be coming back for more in the future! Caroline made us feel so welcome even though it was so busy she still had time to acknowledge us.

I have been here multiple times over the year with work, we have always had a good meal here and the staff have always been welcoming and friendly, served by Caz majority of the time we have stayed and has always been a friendly face and a good laugh.

Well organised party that was very inclusive for all the kids with plenty of games and prizes. Food was great and quick and the staff were spot on.

I came to brewers with friends and family and I can honestly say the service was the greatest I’ve experienced in a long time, Caroline, Jenna, Emma and jam jam were amazing, they made sure we felt at home during are visit and the food was incredible so thank you curt and Charlie, will 100% come again

We were served by Emma, who was very welcoming and accommodated us with consistency. The food was fresh and lovely. We tend to have this regularly when not at peak times.

The service was excellent, very friendly staff and helpful. The food was good, tasty and great value. The steak in the mixed grill was perfect and the fish pie had plenty of fish. Overall a great experience and nice to be back.

Went at 4pm on Sunday, after having driven for 40 mins to get there, specially for the carvery, the website says available from 12 to 6. Arrived to be told the carvery had now finished for the day? The lady behind the desk clearly bored of her job and cocouldn'be bothered with even an attempt of customer service. A far cry from my previous visit. Will probably be my last visit. Walked across the path to the Fox Glove and had Sunday dinner there instead Very disappointed

I want to say that the breakfast was good value and we enjoyed the food. I feel that the staff need some training in welcoming and engaging with the customers. My husband has an expression about 'I have a job but I don't really want it' and that certainly how it felt. It was the same the previous evening with someone else, such that we left and went somewhere else to eat.

Started quiet with no bottled water and ok food. No upgrading sales or additional food ideas from staff who was very friendly. Started getting busy later. Usual Brewers Fayre toilets being unpleasant decor and stank of wee. Looked old and dated with friendly staff.

Stayed here for 3 nights, the staff are lovely. We had great treatment from the staff here, all beit minimal. The breakfast buffet provided by Brewers Fayre was very well cooked and tasty, with great quality considering its mass cooked food. The room was fine to sleep in, but it's very worn around the edges and needs some minor decoration to improve it. The Air Con system was undergoing repairs and caused a lot of disruption to my sleep, specifically. So even when switched off, it made drainage sounds every 5 mins lasting 40 seconds. It did this 8am to 1am the next morning each night and then changed to permanent electric motor whirring sound that was faint, but I could still hear it. It's not worth £300+ for the 3 nights because of this inconvenience. I wouldn't stay here again with the state of the room and air con problems. If these are fixed, then I would consider staying here.
