Heaney Catering at the Crown Inn in Richmondshire

Called here for a few drinks at 8:45pm on the way home to the caravan park. Upon arrival door was open and lights on, to all intense and purposes a welcoming pub. However to our disbelief we were turned away in a rude manor as by an obnoxious man at the end of the bar, who was the landlord, To be told abruptly that the he had cashed up the till and only had one person in. We were left to our own devices outside the pub in the pouring rain while we had to ring a taxi. In this time the landlord let two people out of the venue and stoked up the fire! Even in troubling times times this landlord does not want custom. Avoid Avoid Avoid!

We did some travelling round the Yorkshire Dales and visited quite a few pubs, but The Crown in Brompton on Swale made us feel really welcome. We stayed close to it at The Brewery Station and enjoyed every minute of it.

Last minute stop for a drink on way....why did we bother ?Landlord rude and miserable which appeared to rub off onto the regular customers.Reminded us of pub from American Warewolf in London.If you like a pub that offers a welcome and a smile then I would urge you to give this one a miss.

gosh such a large portion, the yorkshire pudding was huge. but with the right ammount of gravy it worked. loved the veg. so much veg. a very good price paid for this sunday lunch. gosh i am still thinking about it. wow . and the staff. so well mannerd and so very uniform turned out. thankyou kind people

Came here after passing by while in the area.On entering the pub the place was nearly empty. Not a problem we thought. Ordered our drinks with the bar man . Not the best customer service. Quite rude when i asked about food. When food came . (I had a special) it was awful. Over cooked chicken in a sauce .On the positive the drinks were good. Popping in for drink - great .

This was our second visit to the Crown. My wife, daughter & i just popped in for a quick drink on a warm evening. The place smells awful when you walk in, stale beer & sweat basically. No greeting from the guy behind the bar & our daughter sat on the bar stool to see what drinks they had, he finally spoke saying “You shouldn’t be sat at the bar.!” We were all thirsty but won’t accept manners of this kind & left. Live nearby & drive past most days, but will never return.

My wife and I had a hard day at work and went to a near by pub for tea and a pint.orderd drinks and then food only to be told drinks and food were seperate bills??. then, CASH ONLY!!??. No cards accsepted. The food arrived and you could smell the old and over used cooking oil that had been used to deep fry everything. My wife had Cajun chicken and chips. It was just cajun seasoning on very dryed up chicken, no sauce at all.I had Surf and Turf, the Turf was Scampi with chips cooked in old oil and nearly cold and the Turf was a very over cooked steak, very dry and no sauce. The salad that came with the meals was just choped up salad with no dressing at all.We WONT be back, I could even taste the line cleaner in the carling.

Sólo el mes pasado aquí en pooped con mi esposa para almorzar entre semana.Vivo bastante cerca, pero esta fue nuestra primera visita. Operación gracioso como el bar es un negocio por separado desde el catering en la corona, nunca visto antes, pero no afectó nuestra opinión sobre el lugar.Mi esposa tenía el pescado y patatas fritas, tuve el sobresaliente. La mía era una buena porción de patatas fritas y ensalada, gran fresco. Pescado seco de mi esposa y parecía un tipo supermercado/congelados de cosas.Esa fue la única decepción.

Excellent Sunday lunch. Fantastic value and good Yorkshire food. Very friendly staff will defiantly eat here again ..

Después de pasar una semana caminando en Arkegathdale con nuestros dos Terriers y Foster hijo, en condiciones congelación, paramos en negar la posibilidad de que nos dejaron muy necesitada de una comida caliente en el camino a casa de Lincolnshire.La casera era acogedor y amable, la comida, (bistec y pastel de hongos, patatas fritas, y verduras) compara favorablemente con los pubs Dales variados que habíamos comido durante toda la semana. Tamaño de las porciones mejor, y el precio £6, era impresionante, ya que había pagado casi dos veces esta mucho durante toda la semana en los valles.El carbón y leña clamoroso fuego también nos ayudó a descongelar , los perros no estaban interesados en venir desde su lugar en frente de la chimenea cuando nos fuimos.

Justo a la salida de la carretera A1, esta posada ofrece un lugar acogedor para descansar y llenar con grub sincera de pub. Había una buena selección en el menú para todos los gustos. Los precios eran £6 a £12. El personal era muy amable y servicial. El servicio era bueno y la comida era de buena calidad. Las patatas fritas eran excelentes.Sin duda alguna que otra visita si estamos en la zona de nuevo
