A fantastic place, I really can’t recommend enough. We have tried to book for a while and struggled, eventually we managed 6.15 Friday. Already very busy. Great food - we had focaccia and dips, tomato salad, fried chicken, cod, potatoes. The potatoes very incredible. Wine was eclectic - Japanese, Armenian! I asked to try and they were very receptive and shared their knowledge of the wines. The service is excellent, attentive, friendly - a great place and excellent value for money

Late lunch. Both had the quiche which came with a green salad. Exceedingly tasty and delightful. Lovely ladies looking after you. Tables downstairs a little heavy and wobbly but hey you go for the food.

A great traditional pub..homely Jodie and the girls are brilliant the beers are fantastic from traditional beers to lagers and now are serving Peroni. Thai food is being cooked on the premises delicious...plus quiz nights on a Tuesday. Another plus it's a dog friendly pub ...what more would you want...and the locals are accommodating and friendly...if you do not visit you are missing out...

We had a family and friends birthday party here . Many of us had been before in the daytime for food which is excellent. However the event last night was perfect . The food , service and the environment was all first class . I would not hesitate recommending this to anyone who was thinking about arranging a private function.

Maybe the management should explain the word hospitality to staff ….after a good night 7guys having a few beers 08.05.2025 we drink here fairly regularly We were asked to leave at 11.00 then evicted at 11.10 prompt by a disgruntled employee throwing black rubbish bags etc around obviously had somewhere to go and we where a problem so eventually had to wait outside for a taxi not a good experience at all

Great place to stay and eat. Lovely people, lovely landscape, and they even posted something back to me that I forgot to pack! Would definitely stay there again.

Everything ran so smoothly, the planning and preparation, the venue looked spectacular and there were so many complements about how fabulous the food was. The whole experience was everything that we had hoped for, and more, and all our guests were so complementary about almost every aspect of the day. You have helped us create memories with friends and family that we will all cherish and remember forever. Food is amazing and great value. The staff are friendly and the atmosphere spot on.

Breakfast visit and excellent fluffy pancakes. A slight mixup with our booking, think it was a glitch in the system but sorted quickly and friendly. One small point, three lovely and fluffy pancakes with berries but not enough yogurt, ate the last one dry, at the cost a bit more yogurt wouldn’t break the bank.

Booked for my friend who came up to see me and my partner. Location is a little far from Huddersfield town to walk but it’s only a 6/7 mins drive to the town. We played a game of golf and it was very entertaining and was only £10 for the 3 of us. The food is nice and we had some live music outside whilst eating. The room was very clean, and it looked like we had got an upgrade by having a double bed! Will be booking again for the great and affordable price for 3 nights 4 days of just over £100!!!
