Beautiful pub! Service was excellent, and the Sunday dinner was amazing! Proper Yorkshire puds!!! Meat was fresh, best Sunday dinner I’ve had in a long time.

Best Camembert ever had! Onion chutney was so good and was so reasonable. Came with plenty of bread and was 12.95. Chicken burger was really nice aswell.

We arranged to meet some friends for Sunday lunch here and I ordered the lamb and when it finally arrived I thought they had brought beef instead as it tasted so overcooked and leathery. Two others in our group also tried it and agreed it was horrible so it wasn't just me. The veg was hard and the Yorkshire puddings were cold. The service was very slack with staff that didn't appear to know what was going on, no check to see if we were happy and when we asked if we could box up the kids pizza they just chucked it in the bin instead. On the positive side the landlord ale and the cheesecake were nice.

Very nice cosy public house, freindly atmosphere, Just sufficient amount of tables to cope with each service needed from the kitchen. A speciality on the menu is very nice indeed steak pie ( homemade ) chips nicely cooked, mushy peas and a lovely thick beef gravy. Other meals on offer are very nice indeed, such as their thie curry, which I have had previously. The hanging kebab ( two skewers ) either with chips or side salad or both if you ask can be offered. Beer has a good selection of hand pulled ranges, and they keep a very good Guinness. All in all a nice meal for lunchtime on this occasion, worth a booking and a visit..

Lovely pub! Staff were attentive, food was absolutely delicious, I ate till I couldn't eat anymore!! Foo fighters and some red hot chillis playing in the background. Perfect!

Quick visit. Very pleasant sitting in the beer garden overlooking the higher ground. Interior looked attractive without being overly manicured. A Tim Taylors pub. Big plus was that they also had local Bradfield Bitter Farmers Blonde

The Sunday Dinner Is Absolutely Amazing! Home Made Gravy & Huge Yorkshire Puddings! The Cauliflower Cheese Was Exceptional! Lovely Rose Zinfandel Wine, Cocktail & Fudge Cake To Finish! Highly Recommend A Visit! Only Bad Point I Would Say Is I Sufferer With Migraines & The Lighting In The Lower Room Is Awful, So We Sit In The Bar! It's the first time we have tried this pub. The reviews for Sunday lunch were superb. We booked Sunday lunch for 14:15, a few people in but not too busy. Our starters were extremely good and hot. The main course, I had roast beef and my wife turkey. Two main issues, the food was luke warm at best and the Yorkshire pudding was so large it took over the plate. I only saw one person eat it all, what a waste of food. It shouldn't only be about the quantity of food. It doesn't make business sense. Half the size of the Yorkshire pudding would be sufficient for most people.

Decent pub. Stopped here on the way home from Yorkshire Sculpture Park for a bite to eat. Good selection of beer, tasty food and a lovely beer garden.

Went for dinner and had a corner table facing the wall. Overpowering smell of bleach as we walked in. Penang curry very watery and very average. Chicken salad covered in unnecessary oil. Service ok but difficult to get a second drink.

Lovely place! Dog friendly! They even have treats on the bar! The guy who served us was lovely and offered to take stuff outside for us. Will definitely be popping in for a drink in the sun more often.

Food was nice, but the hanging kebabs were really salty. The young lad serving us did really well, his 5th night in the job. A little bit too eager, asking us if we had finished while we were clearly still eating and then asking us if we wanted the bill whilst clearing our plates. Overall really nice, the garden area is beautiful. Hopefully we will be back when the weather warms up for an afternoon in the beer garden.

An excellent Sunday Lunch today. Fantastic service, our waitress even remembered I was gluten free when it came to dessert. Delicious food and the largest Yorkshire Puddings we’ve ever seen!

Just been for lunch here, had to be sent back twice, we ordered the festive skewers. As soon as the food came out I could see that the turkey was not just pink but completely raw. The table staff were very apologetic and took the food away not one but twice to be cooked further. We were charged and paid full price for a terrible meal and experience. Be warned before trying here, we could have been very ill from eating raw turkey, basic food hygiene/knowledge.

I’ve eaten here a few times now and the food is always delicious. A lovely little gastro pub with a few cask ales on the bar, warm and friendly atmosphere open fires and a lovely setting. Quite pricey I feel £84 for Sunday dinner for 3 with starters and 4 cokes. I will go again though soon.

Our car broke down in their car park, the staff were very kind to us. We also had some food there while waiting for the mechanic. The food was great. I really enjoyed sitting outdoor.

A quiet countryside pub with gentle music in the background. 💺 Seats are both indoors and outdoors with large parasols when the 🌞 sun is prominent. The architecture suggests it is an old pub and adds to the character of the village. Wheelchair users might find mobility a bit hampered here. It is well maintained, clean and welcoming. The toilets 🚻 too are clean. The bar is stocked with a variety of alcoholic drink 🍸 and other beverages. I spotted several shades of Kraken and Dead Man's Fingers as well as Appletiser, Old Mout to mention but a few. And a coffee ☕. Do order chicken 🐔 wings. Not spicy or chilli but nicely seasoned and enjoyable. Great for couples, a family or small groups. Recommended!

Great little pub the Sun at Flockton. Fantastic food, a little cramped inside the bar area but apparently a refurb is in the pipeline. Great to sit outside in summer with a tipple of your choice. New owners are lovely people, and is one to definitely recommend. The best Sunday lunch around, bar none.

Went for Sunday lunch and the choice was great with the biggest Yorkshire pudding I think I've ever seen. The vegetables were all fresh and very tasty. The pub itself is very warm and welcoming. The staff are very friendly. I would recommend you book in advance as it was very busy at lunchtime.

The only pub I recommend people use for Sunday lunch. Menu has developed a little more but you cant beat their roast dinners - Superb! Good range of ales, lagers etc plus large garden area. My advice? Don't think about going, get yourself there!

We only popped in for a drink but the place had a good atmosphere and the staff were friendly. Looking at the menu we will be back for a meal another evening.

Called in here today on the off chance we could get a table as I'd been told about the Sunday dinners.... Managed to get a table outside as all the tables inside was reserved - I now understand why.... Everything from the food down to the atmosphere of the pub was brilliant. Customer service was brilliant... Very polite and friendly. We had the trio meats dinner (beef, gammon and turkey) My mother in law had the beef - she isnt the easiest to please when it comes to Sunday dinners 😂 but we was all very impressed and will certainly be back. Thank you for a lovely experience...

Tasty food and a very cool outdoor seating area, some of which is protected from the elements. There are also outdoor burners for when it gets cold. The chips are served with “chip spice” which is a paprika flavoured salt that I know only from my days in Hull. Very surprised when I found out because this is the only pub I’ve been to that has served it in about 15 years!

We visited here for the first time last week. I have passed the place numerous times while working and the pub looks inviting, given its location and outlook over Emory Moor. We weren’t disappointed with anything the pub / restaurant had to offer. The food was beautiful and the service was welcoming and friendly. Given the superb weather we’ve had of late we hoped to sit outside and enjoy the views. Typically is was a cooler and breezy eve, but on a nice summer’s evening I imagine this place hard to beat for dining Al fresco. Although it’s situated on a main road, you can barely hear the traffic when sat at the rear of the pub which also boats a large undercover de king area along with the beer garden itself. Well worth a visit and we are sure to return.

Nice place with beer garden and lovely outlook around the back. Three hand pulled Timmy Taylor's on offer which was nice to see (Landlord, Bolt Maker & Knowle Spring). Couldn't try the beer today as I was driving but will return and report - ended having a coffee which to be honest wasn't the best (tasted like powdered milk) but I suppose we are spoilt for good coffee shops these days!

Food was amazing and reasonably priced. Good choice too. Staff so friendly. Def go back if not barred. Had a good birthday celebrations and even had complimentary drinks for the birthday girls.

Food not very nice Sunday lunch

I’ve driven past this for seven years and never been in before. Called in for lunch. Really surprised by the good menu choice and great food. Good choice of beers, food menu was good, staff excellent and the ambience was lovely too. Well worth a visit and I won’t be waiting another seven years to pop in!

Lovely environment - well presented highly tasty food. The lamb was somewhat lost in gravy though. May be best to have separate gravy boat. Sadly insuffcient time allocated at table for 3 course meal for our table of 7. We were shown the dessert menu and told that they needed the table in 5 minutes as the next party were waiting! An alternative was not offered though on one of the other empty tables as it could have been for the short time needed.

Excellent meal on Saturday lunchtime: Not visited previously but circumstances dictated we had to move from where we had booked (due to power failure) and The Sun was recommended. It didn't disappoint. Lovely friendly staff and food quality was super, hot and tasty! Can certainly recommend and we will return in future.

Had Saturday lunch yesterday and it was spot on. Lovely home cooked food with excellent service and warm, cosy surroundings. Perfect !

Very Poor service man with glasses behind bar was extremely rude and didn't show good customer service at all. Treated me and my family like a joke refusing to serve us because we had official O2 vouchers.

Expensive, tables only 2ft away from next table. Not good considering what's going on in the world right now. Food OK but nothing special. Ordered hanging chicken and chorizo kebab. Only 2 chunks chicken and 2 half pieces of chorizo mainly veg. Would not recommend.

The Sun Inn hosted lunch for our family group of 12 including 2 children today. We were able to pre order. Food was well cooked, served hot and was well presented by lovely staff. Nice atmosphere and warm environment, which was clean and covid secure. We will return for more visits. Thank you.

ABSOLUTELY DISGUSTING PROFESSIONAL SERVICE. We'd had a booking with them for a while for Monday 16th August 2021 for a party of 16 family members for a 70th birthday ..... absolutely DISGUSTING that they phone up late on the Sunday evening the night before, less than 24 hours before everyone was to arrive, to tell us that they hadn't checked their reservations so hadn't seen us booked in and they couldn't accommodate us now as the Landlord was going on holiday which would leave just one chef and a couple of members of staff to work at the pub - no proper apology, nor even a token gesture of a discounted meal at any point in the future for the fact that they were the ones letting us down. Definitely WON'T be using this establishment at any point in the future, nor recommending it for professional service for obvious reasons. You should be ashamed of yourselves.
