The Venue Bar & Kitchen in Kirklees

Booked for my friend who came up to see me and my partner. Location is a little far from Huddersfield town to walk but it’s only a 6/7 mins drive to the town. We played a game of golf and it was very entertaining and was only £10 for the 3 of us. The food is nice and we had some live music outside whilst eating. The room was very clean, and it looked like we had got an upgrade by having a double bed! Will be booking again for the great and affordable price for 3 nights 4 days of just over £100!!!

My husband and I went for the best afternoon tea we have ever had. It was so reasonably priced we didn't know what to expect, but what a fab surprise we had and eventually waddled out stuffed with the most delicious food. Thank goodness I was wearing stretch cut-offs and a lose top! The staff, Caitlin and Aimee were delightful, nothing was too much trouble for them. Well done The Venue.

Good basic clean accommodation in a nice setting if a bit far out. Excellent no frills value for money.

First time visit for lunch and well impressed with food, selection of ales and the overall place.

I had my wedding here at the weekend and I can honestly say that Olivia the venue manager went above and beyond on the day and the planning before this! Olivia and the venue staff helped us with all the decor the day before out of their own free will! In the run up to the months of planning she was always there to help, and quick responses, on the day of the wedding they was so very organised and it all ran like clockwork thanks to Olivia and all the team at the The Venues for making sure it did!.. I can honestly say I didn’t have to worry about anything at all they had everything under control all the entertainment arrivals, guest arrivals, I would highly recommend The Venue and the team to anyone, they work very hard and the next morning everything was already boxed up and packed away ready and waiting for us! Brilliant service and team Thank you so much xx

Me and my family visited The Venue today with relatives that have come to visit Yorkshire. What a fantastic spot and a perfect family environment! We trialled the new menu and the food was absolutely delicious, with special mention to the tacos. We were served by a lovely girl named Grace, she greeted us with a smile and made us feel very welcome. We will definitely be back!

Beautiful food, great menu choices. We all had different meals and they were fantastic. Service was excellent and the staff and manager were very attentive. The venue is a wonderful place in a gorgeous setting. The outside heated pods were brilliant and the entertainment singer on Friday added to the atmosphere. Will definitely be back especially in the summer to make use of the mini golf and take walks in ths woodland.

The entire experience was wonderful, from the delicious food to the attentive staff “We really loved dining at the venue from the moment we arrived until we left, everything was spot on , we really appreciate the team especially Liv who was so lovely and did a fantastic job of looking after us for the night , we loved spending time outside in one of the pods with blankets and a overhead heater , we definitely will be going back .

I went in a Pod with my Daughter and Grandson and the food was, as ever delicious. We have been several times and enjoy it every time. Aimee looked after us very well and has done on more than one occasion. Thank you!

We booked afternoon tea here, arrived over an hour early but it wasn't a problem for them. The Afternoon tea was amazing, the staff were too, Diana our server was so lovely and Grace made us some amaxing cocktails, i wish this place was on our door step because we would be regulars.

I organised a babyshower and the event coordinator was very helpful and responsive. The food was amazing and the staff were very friendly I have had great feedback from the guests who came. To top it all up we enjoyed amazing singing from the other room

Came for the Sunday Lunch and it was incredible I had a two course, was served by Aimee she was lovely, truly service with a smile.

Had a meal.for my birthday food was amazing service was great location is a bit un the middle.of nowhere however was deffinatley worth the visit will return

To be honest I didn't have chance to taste the food and after getting there the actual venue looked lovely and the staff that I met were very friendly, it looked like the sort of place that would be great for wedding receptions e.c.t or an afternoon tea , they actually let me take a copy of the menu and it looked delicious , so I'll definitely be paying it another visit to taste something from the menu and hopefully the weather won't hinder me the next time ! But as I said on first impressions it was well laid out and friendly.

Me and my husband had our wedding at The Venue and I honestly can not thank Olivia and the team enough! The Venue was stunning, they were fantastically priced and every guest complimented the food as exceptional! Olivia put my mind at complete ease and was available whenever I needed her, we decided to have our wedding only 7 weeks before the date and I couldn't have done it without her! She did all the decorations, communicated throughout the whole evening, for example when it was time to cut the cake and first dance! I am so thankful for everyone there, they made mine and my husband's wedding day flawless! Thank you everyone! Would recommend 100%

Me & a friend had the afternoon tea with a cocktail. The food was lovely a little too much sourdough could have done with the piece of chicken and bhaji on its own not on bread but it was delicious food. We had a great server called Grace. Well worth the money. Claire

If you just want the cheapest, then this place is fine. But it's in the middle of nowhere, not very comfortable and too noisy at night.

We dined in one of the outdoor pods which just smelt of damp and the tables were unclean. Bottle of wine had gone off and the pizza was barely edible. So burnt on the bottom and cold uncooked cheese on top. Was so excited to try here but was thoroughly let down. The waitress Aimee was lovely though.

Another great visit to The Venue. Menu changed since last visit and was even better. Served by Caitlin, she is a very pleasant young lady. The young guy who also helped was very pleasant. Well worth a visit. Go for a walk around the grounds and finish off with food and drink here. You won't be disappointed

We held a family Christmas event in the private dining room in December. From my first e-mail enquiry to the end of the event itself, the service and customer experience was first class. Beautiful room, lovely rural setting, wide variety of good quality and reasonably priced food, friendly staff both front of house and behind the scenes - couldn't find fault even if I tried (and I don't want to!). Hope this business continues to flourish in 2024.

We arrived today for a two course meal for two We were greeted with a warm welcome and really friendly service. Caitlin was the lady who looked after us and was very attentive and service was with a real smile 😊 We really enjoyed our meal here and would very highly recommend to anybody Thanks Mark and Millie

We went here last saturday night, there was a great atmosphere, the staff where absolutely lovely, the food was served quickly and of a great quality as well as value for money. Would not hesitate to go here again☺️

The menu had a variety of different foods and drinks to choose from that were all reasonably priced. The staff were very kind and patient whilst we ordered and the atmosphere was perfect. The pods that were outside of the restaurant were spacious enough to fit all of my friends in and were really fun to experience being inside of.

Held my daughters baby shower in the private dining room. What an amazing place for a party the whole day was amazing. We opted for the afternoon tea option. The food came on little picnic benches in the centre of the table all of this was delicious and beautifully presented. All the staff were extremely helpful and nothing was to much trouble for them. A special mention to Amber who helped the day run smoothly. I would highly recommend the Venue for a party.

The room we had for the baby shower was lovely and very clean. We were able to set up in the morning. The staff were extremely helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The tables were set up beautifully and the afternoon tea was delicious, varied and plentiful. Many thanks to the wonderful staff for a fabulous afternoon!

Forget about all the negative comments on here, the food was simply amazing. I was bought a Groupon voucher for a game of mini golf and a meal for 2 for my 70th Birthday. We came yesterday and was given a Pod outside for our meal, it had a fantastic outlook overlooking the fields and woods and with the sun behind us. The menu is fantastic something for everyone, for starters we chose a bowl of nachos, came piping hot with added dips, one of the best we have ever had (enough for 4 persons). The mains well say no more I chose the Beef Brisket Tacos meal and was not disappointed even the spicy chips I give 10/10. The wife went for the Lamb burger, what a delight it was, full of flavour one of the best she has had and she is a burger fan. We enjoyed it that much that we inquired about Sunday lunch to bring the family. All the staff were amazing and asked the waitress to pass on to chef how good the food was. Yes it does have a Uni feel about the place but it is clean, modern and with seating inside and outside it made this afternoon summers meal 10/10 for us.

Lovely venue and vibe. Staff were all lovely and India in particular was very helpful and served us swiftly upon arriving. They had live music which was a lovely touch to ending our evening. Menu isn’t large but still found a few things that I liked from it. Will be coming back for sure.

Absolutely a hiden gem, the food was tasty and well presented, staff very curtious especially Grace. Food average cost £10.00 but it is good quality and plenty of it. The surroundings are industrial inside and kitted out very vell, there's a pool table, table tennis and crazy golf, somewhere to sit comfortable on sofas. Would we recommend definitely, would we return definitely and there's rooms to book also if you require to make a night of it. Thank you to all.

Absolutely fantastic food and drink at very reasonable prices. All 5 of us chose something different and each dish was as tasty as the others. No room at all for dessert so can’t comment on that. Waiting staff and Manager all lovely. The only slight criticism is the volume of the music playing; it is too loud for the size of the venue and worse still when the live sets play. It’s a shame as this does spoil it a bit in terms of being able to eat, chat and stay on for additional drinks. Sort this out and it’d be a firm 100%. Would still highly recommend if you’ve not been before.

It was our first time visiting The Venue about a week or so ago and I couldn’t recommend it enough! The restaurant is lovely inside and out, the food and cocktails are excellent, and all the girls who worked there were so friendly too. Me and my partner shared the nachos and the prawn and mushroom starters. I had the jambalaya for my main which was full of flavour and my partner had the venue burger. We were served by Grace who was very attentive and welcoming! She also recommended some cocktails to us - which are all on an amazing deal 2 for £10-12 which I thought was great! Hoping to come back soon with my mum and try out the brunch menu 😁

Food was excellent. The Aubergine Parmigiana was tasty and soft, the salad crisp and fresh. The Peach crisp was inspired and delicious. The sponge was light and flavourful. Service was friendly, efficient and polite. Catlin took my order and delivered the main meal. India checked on the order and served me the drinks, coffee and dessert with a smile continuing the excellent service. The customers were friendly as I was dining alone, and background music pleasant and unobtrusive. Would highly recommend.
