Having not long moved back to the village we used the Grove as a starting point when we were meeting friends. The place appeared very run down and is in need of serious renovation. The other customers looked in need of renovation too Our friends could not park, we were told the car park is for management and people staying. In a village where other establishments are making a real effort the Grove is letting the side down

Visiting family in Skelmanthorpe and stayed here over Christmas. Room was recently decorated, clean, comfy and provided water, tea, coffee, biscuits. No need for snacking in view of the gargantuan breakfast each morning, come very hungry and be very full after.Bill's hospitality is amazing and he also provides newspapers to accompany your meal.We also enjoyed a drink at the bar on Christmas eve.Thoroughly recommend it.

Stayed with the fiancée for a night. Room was warm, tidy, clean and cosy. Nice. Breakfast was lush! Wow. Fruits, cereals, breads, pancakes and an English breakfast. Felt gutted we couldn't eat it all.. Will definitely stay again in the future. Brilliant.

Really nice coffees made just how I like it. Nice selection of cakes too. Loved the seating courtyard outside. Highly recommend.

Just moved to the area. I wanted to have a decent brunch. On the Corner had very good reviews. Called them asked if they had a table for one. Arrived , they were full but had reserved a table for me. One star. Cafe is very clean and staff friendly, two stars. Given the menu, chose the big breakfast. My meal arrived piping hot and well presented. Cuppa tea served with milk in a separate little jug so I could make it to my preferred strength, three stars. I enjoyed my breakfast, cooked just right. Asked for extra napkins and a glass of water, arrived instantly, good service, four stars. Finally I paid with all my loose change which the manager was really happy to take. They prefer to take cash. The best part was that the brown sauce came in the biggest packet I’ve ever seen. ( how often do we have to open half a dozen tiny packages of tomato ketchup or HP to get enough for your meal ?) All in all, a great little cafe which will be my go to Sunday Brunch place from now on. Highly recommended. Five stars

Great selection of craft beers, always changing. Highly recommend 'Neck oil' when it's on. Loads of choice for non beer drinkers too. Not tried the food since it's changed, menu looks good though. Really friendly and helpful staff.
