The food was absolutely delicious, you could taste the quality and freshness and it arrived to the table hot. The girls were just a little slow getting drinks to the table but it was quite busy and we felt a bit chilly but I’m being picky now. We always enjoy the food here.

Excellent food and service. We had the Sunday lunch, really nicely presented and more than enough to go around.

Menu is small. But everything on it is really good quality. If you want su day dinner ensure you pre book as they often run out. Ossett brewery beers on which is a nice touch. All staff friendly with attentive but not over the top service.

Just had the steak deal, it was very well cooked,.lean but best of all loads of lovely sauce A very pleasant evening out x

First thing I noticed on entering was the smell of sewage which was quite strong.Table of 10, we were seated in the bar area.Drinks were ordered first,sadly the ossett blonde would have been better served in a sarsons vinegar bottle(yes it did taste that bad,and was as cloudy as a stormy sky).This was changed to a fizzy pale ale,with no apology or explanation,just a shrug of the shoulders and a look as if to say you are wrong.The main meals,which we had to pre order came in reasonable time,and I can honestly say not one person enjoyed their food,and the general consensus was it was the worst they had ever experienced.I had a Cajun spiced chicken burger,which came served on a muffin rather than a bread bun,and was the toughest piece of chicken I have ever come across.Hand cut chips they proudly state on the menu.A potato wedges with skin on is not a hand cut chip,but at least attempt to make them look and taste like they have been deep fried.They were under cooked,greasy and tasteless.Suffice to say,we didn't let it spoil my mother's birthday,but will never return,and will recommend people to avoid this place like the plague.

Really enjoyed the lamb shoulder. The restaurant has character. Staff very friendly. Shame it was really quiet on the night we went. But we will definitely be back

First time for Sunday Roast, pre booked as advised, place was full, taken to table, got our drinks and waited for ordering, not waited long, a mixture of roast ( beef n pork) and a roast pork ordered, 15 minutes later it arrived piping hot and then a bowl of veg, plenty of food and gravy, value for money oh yes, I had to help the wife out so no need for pudding, after enquiring they do do a smaller portion if required. We went here for Christmas Day. It was £85 per person which is extortionate anyway but we wouldn’t have mind paying it if the food and experience matched the price. The staff were very rude and kicked us off a table we were waiting at, we were stood for at least half an hour waiting even though our table was booked and just felt like we were in everyone’s way. I had my daughter in my arms who was asleep at the time so this was very inconvenient. The table was not set out Christmassy at all, the crackers that were left on the table were thrown on their as we watched the guy do it. The 3 course meal was average, something I wouldn’t pay anymore than £20 for. I understand at Christmas you expect to pay more but it was not worth £85 per person, we were all very dissatisfied and disappointed. Will not be returning anytime soon!

We came here for an office christmas meal. Even though the place was busy, they managed to get all the seperate courses out at the same time, and that were short waits for drinks. Staff were polite and professional. Food was delicious, but I think there could have been sides with the vegetarian option and the poached pears would have been better hot.

Had 2 family sunday lunches here recently. Its ok but the roast potatoes are not roast potatoes. They have skins on, and are small baked potatoes in half. These are NOT classed as roasties.

Just had two really lovely meals, I had slow cooked pork (beautiful) my other half had cajun chicken burger and onion rings to share, cannot fault service and food was brilliant, we had the two meals for £21.99 which is excellent value haven't been since they revamped the area dogs are allowed much better will be back.

Had Sunday lunch here, and it was great! Would highly recommend. The food was perfect, and came out very quickly to our table of 6. With 3 vegetarians we were very impressed with the number of available options, the only comment on this would be that it was surprising that there was no vegetarian Sunday roast option. Each of our group commented throughout on how good their food was, both mains and dessert, and the generous portion sizes. If we lived closer we would be going back often

We love it here. Honestly, best pub for miles around. The whole experience is amazing. From the lovely staff to the lovely food. And one of the only places to have home made chips. An absolute delight. Four of us walked in, no bother xx

Arrived at the Kaye Arms for lunch on route to Wakefield, we were informed they closed at 3pm but were still serving food. We were seated in the bar area and given menu’s. A waitress came and took our drinks order while we perused the meals on offer. We both selected a dish from the 2 dine for £21.99 deal. We admired the decor as we waited for our lunch, it was rustic and definitely in keeping with the style of the property. Our food arrived, I had gone for the crispy Cajun butter milk chicken burger while my wife selected the grilled chicken shish kebab. Both meals were excellent the chicken was well cooked, succulent and had plenty of flavour, the homemade chips were chunky, skin on and well seasoned. We both enjoyed the food immensely and thought that £28.39 for two meals and 2 coffee’s was very good value. The staff were polite and attentive but not overbearing. We will certainly return if travelling this way again.

Lovely place food was okay but beef on the sizzler was tough. Had to go find a waitress for the dessert menu but otherwise good.

Delightful dining experience. Very smart, atmospheric interior. Lovely friendly service & most importantly delicious food. All very realistically priced. Definitely recommend.

Stayed overnight in motorhome quiet spot lovely food

Exceptionally tasty food- particularly the chicken breast burger with impressively large chunky chips- simply cooked to perfection. Very lovely and friendly ladies who provided excellent service. The decor of the pub was beautiful and very presentable- even the toilets were squeaky clean. Atmosphere was also very pleasant and we felt very comfortable. Even the lady I spoke to on the phone who I booked the table with was extremely pleasant- what else could you ask for?! 🥰 I would definitely come back here and strongly recommend to anyone to dine here at the Kaye Arms 😁

Would highly recommend food was excellent and there was plenty

Just got back from a lovely meal @ the kaye arms, really good value for money and a great setting for an enjoyable mid-week treat. We had braised pork, with green beans, mushroom mash potato with gravey. The second meal was a vegetable thai green curry. Both meals where really nice and the service was excellent, would definitely recommend! 😁

Beautiful Guinness, professional poured by experienced staff. Meal was excellent, and great value for the money. A lovely clean place, well worth a visit. Staff and service was exceptional, will be calling again. Table was booked by Mick Brooke.

From the first we walked in until the minute the staff were excellent. The food was top quality and of a great price. All the staff were happy and pleasant with a great sense of humour. I would without doubt go again and recommend the restaurant.

The price has increased by c. 50% since COVID but the food quality has remained static. This is a good pub but it has become rather pricey again

Went for a meal with the walking group, (pre ordered before we left.) On arriving back we got our drinks sat down and not long after all 16 meals came out at the same time. Everyone enjoyed the food. Can't wait for the 2 of us to go back for the £21.99 deal for 2 meals.

Excellent all way round really enjoyed it

Fantastic new menu and the new decor is brilliant. Rump steak was great at under £20 and the Sizzling Rump Steak was absolutely delicious! The dessert menu is small but beautifully formed and mouthwatering. The staff & service were exceptional.

Visited today to celebrate a big birthday. Tried to book online no joy,phoned to book but the phone just rang and rang and finally cut off but undeterred we decided to go anyway. When we arrived we were asked if we had booked and when we explained was told the right side of the restaurant was fully booked but we could go in the other side which was empty. It was very cold in there. Tables were set but cutlery looked grubby. Drinks were ordered and delivered but no one came to take our food order. From our table we could see other diners kept arriving,were seated and orders taken. Atmosphere in our cold, empty half was zero. We felt ignored totally and so decided to leave. Very disappointed. It is advertised as a pub/restaurant which is misleading as there is no indoor bar area to sit at as such and all tables are set for food with waiter service only so it is in fact just a restaurant . We shall not be returning and would not recommend.

We love this place staff are so kind to our grandaughter who has special needs.

Called in today without a booking and was seated straight away. The menu isn't overly big but still a good selection. Both the wife's and mine lunch was well cooked and presented the sauce was that nice I nearly asked for a slice of bread 😉. We won't hesitate to go again hopefully next time have a beer too

Can not fault anything at The Kaye Arms. The staff were lovely and helpful. The food was excellent, and it's a really cosy atmosphere. Will definitely be back, and I've been recommending the place to everyone.

Really nice welcome and the food was wonderful, short notice booking and they really pulled out all the stops and got us seated quickly and efficiently. Cannot speak highly enough of al the staff there as they went above and beyond to get us sorted. Will be making it much more of a regular lunch destination

What you would expect, nothing at wrong with it, country pub fare, mid range prices, decent food. EXTREMELY amiable and helpful staff, nice relaxed atmosphere. Lost a star as it was freezing on the evening we went and despite booking a table a week in advance we ended up on a table right next to the door. Unfortunately, we all ended up eating wearing our coats. Mentioning how cold it was at the bar simply resulted in a "Yes, we know it is freezing in here today"?!?! The fire was barely smouldering, and asking if they could lob a couple more logs on it just seemed to cause confusion as to who could actually carry out said task.....

Nice food, great priced, 2 mains for £19.99, loads of choice We got a homemade steak and ale pie, which was absolutely lovely and a chicken shish kebab. Chicken was rubbery in places, but i still enjoyed it, Thank you. We will definitely visit again Would give a solid 4.5 if i was able to. It was only the chicken that let it down for 5 stars

Good place to eat and real ales too drink

We dined from the 2 for £19.99 menu which is served Monday to Friday, The sea bass which I had was plus a £1.00 supplement but it was well worth it, my partner had the Burger with really nice chunky chips, both meals were good and the portion size was ample, the vegetarian choice is as good as most places,the place was busy with a nice buzz about the place, service was quick and the staff are attentive, would definitely recommend.

Fabulous Sunday Lunch, perfect portion size. Great service. Only thing that stopped it being a 5 was very undercooked vegetables. I like them still firm but they were bordering on not cooked.

Booked a table for 8 Arrived Woman was very rude and awkward to talk to. Building was freezing had to eat with coats on. All drinks were 80% water very very flat Pint glasses were all different sizes Food was not worth the cost Lemonade Not fizzy tasted of water Pepsi Don’t even sell coke Just watery Pepsi Plenty of room for improvement The 4.4 star is not true Just a family run buisness with all locals giving 5 stars cause they know them

The Kaye Arms is a great dining experience. Food is cooked fresh so expect a bit of a wait, but it is well worth it. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and there is ample car parking space.

Average pub food, not too expensive if you go for the set menu. I choose the sirloin beef meal too many potatoes and sloppy leeks on the plate but beef was enjoyable. Wasn't keen on the starter and dessert I chose, queen scallops and salted chocolate tart. Service was very slow only one young woman taking and serving food orders.

11 of us went yesterday for Christmas lunch what a disaster, staff were run of their feet as the pub was full. My roast beef was wafer thin and very rare my friend had the lamb which was just a pile of fat and she left the whole meal. My beef and some others went in a bag for the dogs. Put us off ever going again, we were given coffee for free but we should not have paid for poor quality. Sorry Kaye Arms

I wanted to bring to your attention a recent experience I had at your establishment, Kay Arms. As a long-standing customer who has always enjoyed the delicious food and the opportunity to try new dishes, I am writing to express my disappointment with a recent visit. During our most recent visit, my family and I ordered the chicken pie, which came with gravy already poured on top. However, when I took a bite, I immediately noticed that the gravy did not taste right. Curious about the flavor, I approached our server and asked her to inquire about the type of gravy. She later returned and informed me that it was garlic gravy. Unfortunately, the garlic gravy did not meet our expectations. It had a peculiar taste at the end that was far from enjoyable. What added to our disappointment was the lack of response from the server. She did not offer any alternatives or acknowledge our concerns, leaving us with no resolution to the issue. This experience had a negative impact on our evening, as it was supposed to be a special occasion for us. On the menu didnt state garlic it said Gravy. Which is disappointing. Which I don't like galic or I wouldn't of asked for normal gravy. I must emphasize that Kay Arms has always been one of our favorite places to dine, and it is disheartening to have encountered such a letdown. As loyal patrons, we have come to expect a consistent level of quality and service from your establishment. Thank you for your attention to this matter. Had a lovely lunch, we were greeted with a smile and staff were happy to help us, nothing was too much trouble. The food was wonderful, the chicken satay was out of this world! Then the fish and chips for main, massive and full of flavour! Would have liked to see homemade tartar sauce… but never mind! The exquisite fish made up for it!

Just had a lovely meal at this pub. Would recommend chicken and chorizo starter and the chicken kebab main. Chicken very tender and tasty. Ladies who looked after us were friendly and helpful. Not overpriced and quick service. Dog friendly too in the bar!

Me and my husband just been here today what a lovely place warm welcome from the 2 lady's working today food was amazing well presented mostly homemade to we will definitely be back here more often now definitely recommend

We recently went here for an evening meal. Plenty of parking and level walking to the door which is important when taking older relatives out. Once inside Very friendly and efficient staff showing us to our table It was quite busy so I would suggest to book Our food and drinks were fantastic and well portioned. The price was extremely good especially for the portion I really enjoyed my desert We have been several times over the years and it's always great 😃 A small note I love gammon and it's not on the menu 😃?? Definitely 5 stars from me and we will come again soon I gave this venue a mention on my Instagram account jafthegardener as I thought it was that good

Fantastic meal and staff. We have been lucky lately on the pubs we have visited, The Kaye Arms is the next level for the meal we had. They have a special £19.99 for 2. We ordered thinking as it is a special they would not be great, we were so wrong, beautiful meal and generous portions. Credit to the cooks. We are in a Motorhome, so we’re able to park down the back of the car park, and go inside for a meal. The staff are attentive and friendly and make you feel welcome.
