A fantastic place, I really can’t recommend enough. We have tried to book for a while and struggled, eventually we managed 6.15 Friday. Already very busy. Great food - we had focaccia and dips, tomato salad, fried chicken, cod, potatoes. The potatoes very incredible. Wine was eclectic - Japanese, Armenian! I asked to try and they were very receptive and shared their knowledge of the wines. The service is excellent, attentive, friendly - a great place and excellent value for money

Visited a friend yesterday with my sister and his Mum. We were treated to a lovely Sunday lunch. Really good food and the chef should win a prize for roast potatoes! Great freshly cooked food and a lovely pub with good service. Thank you to all the staff for making such an effort for my sister, who is a coeliac. Much appreciated 👏

Late lunch. Both had the quiche which came with a green salad. Exceedingly tasty and delightful. Lovely ladies looking after you. Tables downstairs a little heavy and wobbly but hey you go for the food.

We held a party here for my mother's 90th birthday. The event had to be postponed from January to June and there were inevitably a lot of changes between the original date and the actual event. T he staff could not have been more helpful during the whole rather prolonged process and I cannot praise them enough for their service and their cheerful and helpful attitude throughout. Just as importantly the food was absolutely excellent and the atmosphere on the day was just right for the event, We have had nothing but compliments from our guests who spanned a large age range and I am very happy to pass on our thanks. We must now start planning for my mum's 100th!

Great local pub with very good food,served by very friendly and efficient staff.

Stayed over for a new year's eve wedding and it was a lovely venue, everywhere is clean and looks beautiful. Our hotel room was comfy and spacious, comfy beds and fluffy pillows. All the staff were great even though it was new year, even new years day they all had a smile on their face. Food both during the wedding and breakfast the next day was delicious and plentiful. Would have been better if the weather was nicer, especially as the toilets for the wedding part are outside, but the venue did provide some umbrellas and the marquee was very warm. Only criticism I could have is there was a few young children at the wedding but no fruit shoots or similar behind the bar so it was blackcurrant cordial in fancy glasses- we were very lucky there was no major spills or breakages! It also seemed that any time we went to the bar for cokes etc the glass sizes and prices were always different, not a major issue but was a little odd.

Sunday 1st September 2024 Today, I visited this beautiful old-fashioned rural pub near Kirkburton. This old tqlashioned coaching house today was well staffed and had a good local following. There was an ample range of real ales on, and we had a fantastic pint of Abbeydale moonshine, which was,,spot on,, I would gladly come here again if out this way

Only my second visit but it was as good as the first, lovely food and friendly staff. I had to change the table size which was accommodated and was told there another large party after us so there a time limit, which is to be expected on the lead up to Christmas. Yes it was really busy however, it wasn’t a problem and we didn’t feel rushed, all in all we had a lovely evening.

Great breakfast, good portions and top quality ingredients.

Just had two really lovely meals, I had slow cooked pork (beautiful) my other half had cajun chicken burger and onion rings to share, cannot fault service and food was brilliant, we had the two meals for £21.99 which is excellent value haven't been since they revamped the area dogs are allowed much better will be back.

Beautiful pub! Service was excellent, and the Sunday dinner was amazing! Proper Yorkshire puds!!! Meat was fresh, best Sunday dinner I’ve had in a long time.

Booked for my friend who came up to see me and my partner. Location is a little far from Huddersfield town to walk but it’s only a 6/7 mins drive to the town. We played a game of golf and it was very entertaining and was only £10 for the 3 of us. The food is nice and we had some live music outside whilst eating. The room was very clean, and it looked like we had got an upgrade by having a double bed! Will be booking again for the great and affordable price for 3 nights 4 days of just over £100!!!
