Ann in the changing room - asked me three times why I was there, told her three times I was with my 80 year old mother. Said in a sarcastic voice 'oh you're moving everyone up in the queue. I was full of rage when I left, I was too slow to complain at the time.
This cafe is always so busy, there were 3 customers before us, and we waited for half an hour. It is bank holiday, only two people were serving . Extremely slow service, and every time I come - it is same thing. Do something about it! Where is management? Waiting half an hour for a coffee ? It is not acceptable !
Lovely coffee, lovely service, a little wait but it was very busy, very quick at clearing us a table and cleaning it for us though. Was impressed how well they coped on such a busy day
Early dinner on a Monday evening, I was the first table. Staff were efficient, food was good
Accompanied by a cheeky bottle of ale from the Cold Bath Brewing company next door.
Prêt a Manger has added a new dimension to the Harrogate offer. Central location and usual high quality food and first rate coffee. Its real strength is the staff. Manager Victoria, aided and abetted by Freya and Giuseppe, have created a warm friendly ambiance. Go every morning.

Bland, small, overpriced basic food. Dead atmosphere and very inattentive service! Don’t waste your money or time if your just visiting here there’s plenty of lovely places down the road!
I just for the chicken strips and they were quite unusual.
Much harder than you might expect them to be, not so much that you cannot eat them just crunchier.
Picture probably shows what I mean (which again probably speaks volumes because you can visually see how they differ).
I wouldn't have them again.
The most disappointing place I’ve eaten at in a very long time. The subpar food and lack of attention to detail does not meet the premium prices.
I ordered a bacon sandwich - it was £8. I hoped that given the price it would be amazing, however it wasn’t. It was literally 2 slices of average supermarket grade bread, with 4 rashers of bacon inside. There was nothing else on the plate, just a basic sandwich all alone on a cold plate. And because the plate was cold, condensation formed between the sandwich and the plate. This made the sandwich soggy on one side. After it was served I had to wait before I could flag down a member of staff to ask for some brown sauce. The sauce I was given was the cheap unbranded type in a small sachet.
We’d also ordered 2 bottles of still water. They were £2.50 each for a small bottle. Not 500ml, but smaller. The bottles arrived first and the glasses shortly after. When the glasses arrived they were mismatched and dirty - No ice, no lemon, no straws, no napkins. One of the glasses was soaking wet and also dirty, like it had just been quickly rinsed under a tap and re-issued after the last customer.
The chips, what a joke. I can’t remember the price but it was crazy. Literally less than a handful of supermarket oven chips in a cereal bowl.
The latte and the cheese toastie was average - No real complaints other than the toastie was not commensurate with the price. Both in terms of quality and portion size.
Finally, the soup of the day arrived probably 15 minutes after everything else. It was very watery, flavourless and ridiculously hot. Again way over priced and appeared to resemble something very cheap out of a tin.
I know it’s tough at the moment for small businesses, and I was in 2 minds whether or not to write this. However I just wish someone would have told me how bad it was beforehand, because it almost ruined my afternoon.
In the interest of fairness, the staff were friendly and accommodating. The atmosphere was pleasant and the place was fairly clean. They also had 2 high chairs which were clean and in good working order.
I’m clutching at straws here on their behalf. Just save yourself the disappointment and go elsewhere.
A girl called Dani (?Daniel) was amazing.
Excellent customers service skills
Full of life
Previously, I had average experience but I think the staff has changed.
I hope I got name right

Very RUDE staff.
Minimal items! No jam, no iced tea (just couple examples multiple things unavailable) no signage to make you aware. Met with rude attitude staff.
Poor customer service.
