Gianni's Brio Restaurant & Pizzeria in Harrogate

Love this restaurant! The best lasagne I've ever eaten, no question, I'm still thinking about it a day later. Polite and friendly staff, great with the kids, top quality food and ingredients (it is Harrogate so between £16-£19 for a pasta dish) but absolutely worth it. Extensive wine list, can even get an Amarone by the glass! Will always book when staying in Harrogate. Thanks guys!

Last minute booking on Saturday night they just managed to squeeze us in, staff were fabulous and the food was beautiful, we took 2 desserts back to our apartment as we couldn’t eat anymore and they were amazing as well. It was a bit noisy with lots of children but I guess if we had been organised and made a booking for later this wouldn’t have been such an issue. Nobody left a bit of food so you don’t need to say anything else really do you.

It was a wonderful evening. My friend's birthday. The service is wonderful. Very tasty food. Everything was simply amazing and very beautiful. Thank you very much for such a wonderful welcome

Gianni's Brio has, for around 7 years now, been our traditional stop for Saturday lunch on an annual visit to Harrogate to attend a convention over the road. I am never failed to be impressed by the maitre d's ability to recognise us and greet us warmly, despite the intervening months. And I am equally, consistently, impressed by the restaurant, its service and its food. It is everything one could want in an Italian restaurant - delicious, fresh, pasta dishes (the eldest always dives into the lasagna, the youngest attacks the ravioli branzino with relish, whilst I demolish spaghetti with vongole and gamberi. Combined with a few starters - the gnocco frito are crispy, fluffy and plentiful, and the pizza breads are heavily-topped and disappear from the plate within seconds of landing on the table amidst a flurry of hands coming in from all directions - the portion sizes mean that we rarely have room for dessert, but on the few occasions we have partaken in them, over the years, they've topped off the meal perfectly. The only downside is that, unless, travel takes us to Harrogate again in the near future, we have to wait another year before we can go back!

Last minute decision to try this restaurant as we were staying at the Crowne Plaza. The place is great, friendly service, nice ambience and the food was wonderful. I must give a heads up once you place the meal order they bring out a basket of bread which was delicious. We had ordered a starter of pizza bread and unfortunately it was huge and a waste as we couldn’t eat it all.

This is as perfect as it can get with lovely surroundings and atmosphere with the addition of such professional staff. The food really is gorgeous, well presented and as authentic as you can get, what more could you want on an evening out? Perfection every time!

Absolutely awful service last night. Rushed and made to feel unwelcome from start to finish, dishes taken away before we had finished eating them and constantly reminded of how long we had left before they needed the table back. I have never experienced such rudeness when eating out. To add insult to injury we were told to keep a toddler’s music down to be considerate of other guests, when the restaurant was so loud we could barely hear it or each other talking! The cherry on top… I felt extremely unwell after the meal! Edit after response: Let it be noted that I also rarely feel the need to leave a review, but felt so upset and disappointed by the way we were treated. It seems your establishment believe respect and consideration is a one way street. We completely respect that the table may have needed to be returned by a certain time, although we were not made aware of this until 6:15, but there is a way to communicate this without being rude and pressurising, which is unsettling during an evening out. In order to improve on your efficiency it might help to ensure when the table is booked for a party including a baby, that you provide a high chair and not spend 10 minutes trying to attach a booster seat, provide a kids menu and more than 1 drink menu. Additionally, when asked for food to be unsalted, ensure that the food does not arrive with added salt and not need to be returned. It might also be nice to check on whether everything was to satisfaction during the meal and not just add on a £35 service charge after providing less than acceptable service. Not once were we asked if everything was ok, just constantly told to hurry up, have unfinished dishes removed from our table and asked turn things down! The very loud groups next to us were not asked the same thing. It is interesting to note that we observed you being friendly and accommodating to plenty of other guests and it seems the noticeable difference here was that we were the only table in your establishment that had a majority of people who were of colour. With regards to helping clean up the mess I would have been more than happy to oblige and actually planned to however we were pretty much stared at and made rude remarks about by your staff standing over us, before I could even gather my things. No offer from yourselves to even finish our mostly full drinks at the bar!

Well, just over the road from the hotel I was staying at (Crowne Pazza). The service was brilliant, the food superb and the atmosphere just perfect. I was with my daughter Crystale and my granddaughter Fifi and Shamus a friend of the family. This restaurant made our special evening very special. Thank you!!!!

Had a great meal here with my family 2 weeks ago. I mentioned I was gluten free, a sin a I know in an Italian, but the staff were amazing! They immediately sent a senior member of the team over and discussed my options with me. They were very accommodating and made me feel totally normal, sometimes when asking for GF we can be made to feel like we are being difficult just for the fun of it! Each individual server was clearly also made aware and so as each course was brought out they double checked I was the person needing GF, and even commented not to steal any of my partners chips as those ones were not GF. All in all INCREDIBLE service that made me feel very confident in what I was eating. Not to mention the gluten free pizza was incredible! My family even commented they couldn’t taste the difference when they tried it! Makes a change from the usual cardboard pizzas that’s for sure! Thanks so much to all the team!

The best pizzeria in Harrogate 👌🏻

We have been dining at Gianni’s for nearly 40 years with our children, family & friends. Despite moving up north 10 years ago it’s always a pleasure to go back. The staff are always so welcoming & of course, Gianni a legend.

Excellent food, fantastic service and a warm atmosphere

What a find and just one minute from our hotel. The most friendly service and nothing was too much trouble. A real, authentic Italian run family restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious. My wife had lasagna and I had the spaghetti with prawns. Both had the homemade tiramisu to finish. Couldn’t fault a thing and would highly recommend this place. We will make sure this is on our list when we visit Harrogate again. Thank you for a lovely dining experience

Sure this Saturday wasn't typical, but because they crammed as a any people as possible into a small space, the service was slow, the room exceedingly noisy and one of the main courses was unpallatsble due to excessive saltiness. 1 hr before we put in an order, staff under pressure due to crazy number of diners crammed in. So disappointed Martin and family

We are regulars at this restaurant and on our last visit we were especially impressed to the point I thought I would write a review. We receive friendly service from waiters who always remember us, and the food is consistently delicious, with sufficient variation to the menu. My favourite restaurant in Harrogate by a mile

The food was simply superb in every way and the staff were efficient and extremely helpful. The liver was perfectly cooked, pink and simply delicious, the halibut and the sea bass were also perfectly cooked and could not have tasted any better.

Requested not to be sat near the door and this was accommodated. Was able to try 2 wines before purchasing. Staff helpful and attentive. Food was extremely good. I did feel prices on the high side but overall excellent

Last minute booking just before Christmas with 2 adults 2 kids Paillardi di Pollo was the best chicken dish I’ve had at an Italian restaurant. Italian Sausage Pasta and Margarita Pizzas were also fresh and delicious. Timely service, good wine. Honestly this was absolutely brilliant and one of the best Italian meals I’ve had outside of the country. Well done !

Food was lovely and delivered on time. Have ordered from here in the past but stopped on price rises. Had a voucher from just eat so used again. Food is great but ay overpriced. Would order again but only with a voucher. Too expensive on normal price

Is this the best Italian in England? Quite possibly! Service is exemplary and the food is brilliantly "curated" and perfectly prepared. They manage to create a family run feel to this large venue and all the staff have smiles on their faces and make every customer feel special. Nothing is too trivial and there are no problems just opportunities for superb customer service. Waiters know their product and are happy to offer advice on ingredients etc. Gianni's has become our "go to" eating place when in Harrogate and long may it remain so. We'll see them soon

Gianni's is possibly the best Italian Restaurant in England! There are smaller more intimate places but even they struggle to match the family atmosphere that Gianni's deliver "in spades"! It can get noisy but you can still converse comfortably without raising one's voice Great and varied menu and a very sound wine list with some excellent cheaper offerings ( the Sicilian Merlot is brilliant) All the staff work with smiles on their faces and are very well informed about their products, so they can advise on flavours, alternatives, ingredients, etc. If in doubt they'll go and find out. Nothing is too much trouble for them. The food quality has to be seen to be believed! The fish sharing platter was large enough for 4 and the mains were beautiful. I had liver which was as good as I've ever eaten. The 3 pasta mains looked and tasted great according to the benficiaries. Looking around everthing foodwise starts as an "artform"; the kitchen philosophy must be, it looks good and tastes even better. This is a class, bustling eatery and at weekends is very busy. Make sure you book your table, there is a limit to how accomodating they can be. If you can't walk to Kings Road get a cab, as parking in Harrogate can prove challenging. Taxiprices are very reasonable It is rare that I cannot find fault when writing a review and I wish I could here, as I know that in correcting/improving it Gianni,s would manage to make their customer centred offering even better. Whenever we visit Harrogate Gianni's is booked long before we leave Bedfordshire. IT IS OUTSTANDING IN EVERY WAY

Loved every dish we ordered and ai strongly recommend to visit.

We visited tonight having had it recommended by someone local. Service was great from start to finish. Food was all spot on. Crab and aubergine starters were amazing. The gnocchi was nice but not amazing. Mains of saltimbocca, chicken and sausage pasta were lovely. Large portions. Fresh ingredients. Couldn’t fault it.

This is a gem of a restaurant. Glad we booked because it was very busy. An energetic buzz of people enjoying themselves. The food is outstanding. I had sea bass ravioli, exquisite. My husband had calzone which he asked to be different from the published menu. It came exactly as requested. It was huge and delicious. If you have room for dessert then the raspberry crème brûlée cannot be faulted. Efficient, friendly service. We would return to Harrogate just to go to Giannis.

terrible restaurant with terrible food, nothing Italian really. ok staff but the Italian owner very arrogant and nervous area, typical of a gambler or something. absolutely not recommended.

Popped in for a steak dinner and had a great night just me and my son. Delicious starters of dough balls and calamari then 2 outstanding ribeyes with fries veg and zucchini fritti, knock out! Service was great, even my 11yr old said “these guys are amazing, Gianni and Marco the owners working the tables to say hi! Proper Italian family restaurant! Grazie, tutto bene 👌 Just visited again tonight 18th Nov and had a great time with family. Awesome food and the team there are just the nicest bunch, talk to children like they are paying customers, can’t do enough for you! If we lived closer we’d go more often. Well done..again

Gorgeous little cafe in John Street. I pop into this place regularly. The coffee and the food are top notch. The staff are lovely too. Just be aware they are closed on Mondays.

Didn't include free Item which just eat allows you to apply to the order when you spend over the required amount at first. Until I showed that it was on the receipt online and I spoke to driver and pizza kings themselves via drivers phone. They then made the item and then delivered it separately after me making the complaint and valid point of the fact just eat allows you to request and add the free item after spending the required amount regardless of what you order.

Always a great experience. Staff is amazing, as is the food.

Prices have increased quite a bit and for what you get it’s not even worth it any longer.

I like this place but they are now too expensive for what you get.. sorry I won't be ordering again

Popped in after a show and were given a table. Place was packed. Buzzing atmosphere, delicious authentic food. Like nights out used to be. Fantastic!

Pizzas were lovely, cheesy chips were pricey for what you got, portion should be double the size for the price. Food was on time as per the delivery slot but 60-90 minutes is ridiculous when it’s less than a mile away!!

I set delivery for 18:30 and it arrived at about 18:34 maybe so pretty much spot on. The meat was nice and hot, chips were hot and crispy and salad was fresh and chilled. I asked for specific sauces in my notes and I got them, overall nice and would order again

The waitress has zero percent in personality, it really felt like she did not want to be there. She's always the same, every time we go. Food was very bland, needed more seasoning. Hadn't been for a few years but thought we'd give it another try, won't go back. There are other Italian restaurants in the area that have much better food and better staff. The whole venue could do with a refurb too.

It is a few years since our last visit and it didn’t disappoint.We didn’t have a booking and it was a Saturday evening but the staff kindly managed to find us a table.The service is brilliant.Speedy delivery of food and very attentive.The food was delicious and plenty on offer for vegans.

Had a lovely lasagne followed by 3 enormous profiteroles with a rich chocolate sauce. Everyone was very happy with their food and the environment and staff was warm & friendly. Plenty of delisious looking option to chose from and the complementary bread and black olive & garlic tapinard were really nice. Lots of family groups as well and almost full which is always a good sign.

My wife took me to Brio for dinner on 26th Aug for my birthday. Quality of food 10/10! We had the calzone (with some extra chicken) and also the veal. Wonderful. Wine wise the bottles of red start at around £30 we shared the merlot and it was light and refreshing and for us went perfectly. Thank you, we will be visiting again!

Gianni’s is an amazing place to go for some italian food!! All staff are incredible and we had a really friendly welcome. Having lived in Harrogate for almost 10 years, we decided to try a different Italian Restaurant. We decided on Gianni's Brio on Kings Road. It was a pleasant surprise. The staff welcomed us and were attentive. We had Pane Speciale to start, it was delicious. I had Polla alla Crema - The roast potatoes were outstanding - Just like my mum used to make. My partner had Pappardelle Romagnola, he said it was amazing. We don't normally accept the added service charge (10%) but we felt on this occasion it was worth it. We will be back.

Superb authentic Italian food, excellent Seafood pasta, really flavourful. The owner is a character and takes time to come and chat to all the diners. Service is good - friendly but not intrusive, and fast and attentive. Very good value as well.

We always come here when we visit Harrogate and it never disappoints, the service is excellent and the food is delicious, my only negative would be that it was all too quick, only just finished the starter when the main arrived, I think there should be a small break between courses. The restaurant was very busy but a nice atmosphere.

I had not been to this restaurant for a couple of years and now I've rediscovered it I will definitely be going again because the main course and dessert I had were both delicious. I arrived at 7pm, the restaurant was already, at least, two thirds full so it is obviously very popular and I can understand why. The menu is very varied and offers prices to suit most people's pockets. I had half a lager £4.90, a pasta main course £18.95 and a dessert £7.30 so total £31 good value for money for excellent dishes. The interior is attractively designed, the staff were welcoming and super efficient. We didn't have long to wait for our food and the waiter brought us a couple of jugs of water on request. Everyone in the group enjoyed their food.

Although the price was on the expensive side, the food definitely was worth that price.

The best italian in town, quality food with great portion sizes. The array of options is a testement to the skills of the chefs with every dish being delivered in an excellent fashion. Been visting with family and friends for a long time, its always reliable and a delight. We love visiting Brios.

Best pizza in Liverpool, better than dominoes and Pizza Hut! Garlic bread is like nothing I’ve tasted before, unreal food. Always piping hot and tastes fresh and put together with care, will order again and again

Shared an amazing meal as an extended family of eight, including two boisterous children aged 9 and 5. Was made to feel extremely welcomed from the moment we entered the resturant. The waiting staff got the right balance between being very attentive, but not stifling. Each course was brought out at the right pace, so the whole experience was unhurried and crested an at home feel. We really enjoyed this resturant and would definitely return. Would have taken photos of the food but was too busy enjoying eating it and the company of loved ones.

Absolutely amazing! The service was second to none and the food was superb. We will definitely be back as there is so much to choose from and the staff are wonderful.

Great restaurant with outstanding waiters and food. We visited with 2 kids who enjoyed their meals, one had the kids menu whilst the other had a pizza. Garlic bread to start was really good, we then had lasagne and pasta again which was outstanding. Waiters went above and behind to make everyone feel comfortable. Highly recommended

I have been using pizza kings for the past few years and they are constantly good , my wife is a very fussy eater and she can never fault the chicken n lamb kebab. Pizzas are always excellent 👌 well done guys
