Best coffee in Harrogate for me and a great caffe. Recommend highly

I went to Marconi for the first time and was impressed by their panini menu—it reminded me of my time in Italy 🇮🇹 I will be coming back!

Great casual lunch spot and pizza quality and serving is fantastic! Would highly recommend for an informal lunch with friends and family if you’re in Harrogate.

This Italian coffee shop is a gem! Their Italian panini are packed with fresh, flavorful ingredients, offering an authentic taste of Italy. The breakfast here is also top-notch—delicious, hearty, and easily one of the best in town. Perfect for starting your day right with great coffee and a fantastic meal!

The best experience I have had at a café. When I walked in I was instantly greeted by a young girl with a huge smile who asked me how my day was. Unfortunately, I can't remember her name as it was unique but she deserves her credit. She was constantly checking in on me and my friend while doing multiple other jobs. The chef delivered the food to us in person which was a great addition. I had the special panini (tuna) and it was amazing! would recommend it! additionally, the coffees were all double shot (for a regular price) which was amazing as i love my strong coffees. The whole atmosphere was great and am coming a lot more in the future.

I visited this Italian café and was pleasantly surprised! The coffee was rich and authentic, paired perfectly with their crispy chips. The pizza had a thin, flavorful crust, and the panini was fresh with delicious Italian ingredients. A great spot for a quick, tasty bite!

Our go to cafe to chill on shopping trips in town. Good range of food, lovely cakes and decent coffee... But do try the shakes!

Been here many times over the years , Corffee very nice but ordered 2 tea cakes which came with the smallest portion of butter ever asked for more and it never arrived hence dry tea cakes £14 won’t be calling again

Great food at cafe marconi with a good selection of choices and the pizza never dissapoints. The staff are friendly and welcoming and I would recommend a visit if you're coming to Harrogate. Good location a short walk from the train station.

Finally the best pizza in town is back 🍕🍕🍕 Perfect for brunch Very good Italian cakes 🎂 coffee sandwiches all you need in one place definitely I recommend for everyone

Easter Saturday, on a day visit to Harrogate my wife and I decided to drop in here for lunch, it was around 1.45pm. It seemed reasonably busy but we managed to find a table. After getting some menus we decided to get a couple of paninis and 2 teas. Ordering was done at the food counter and I was told food was finished for the day! The kitchen was closed, all food was sold out! It was 2pm! Only cakes and scones were available so ordered 2 scones and 2 decaf teas. After waiting 20 mins the teas arrived then the scones served with packs of butter and a generic pack of strawberry jam. The scones were dry and tasteless. The annoying thing, the bill was paid for upfront and included a 10% service charge in advance. The service was pretty poor. The whole experience and opinion of the place was characterless and cheap yet the price for the scones and tea plus service was far from cheap.

Amazing welcome and friendly service. Great atmosphere and retro music. The coffee was great and smooth. The food was delicious with fresh ingredients. Thanks to Angelo for his lovely attitude and friendly service.

Having visited previously with friends and been satisfied, our visit on 30/03/24 was extremely disappointing. Our food and drinks were ordered within 10 minutes of arrival ..... our drinks order after being taken to the incorrect table arrived 30 mins later, after 50 mins we chased our food order of 3 sandwiches to be told it was in line, after a further 10 minutes a young waiter arrived to tell us our order check had been lost ..... seriously!!! Again, I spoke to the waiter in charge who couldn't explain what had happened .... and that our order was waiting to be processed .... we had been waiting for over 1 hour .... I asked for a full refund and the food to be delivered as soon as possible .... the refund was given. After a further 15 minutes our food arrived .... one of our party had to leave .... the food was not to the standard of previous visits, and the service was non-existent. Very disappointing and will not be returning. One hour 15 minutes for food to be served is not acceptable, given the restaurant was not busy.

When I went back and politely asked for the additional item the staff member informed me that she thought I'd changed my mind mid order and took it off. The additional item was then added and charged for however the receipt didn't print properly. When she gave me a card machine receipt I kindly explained that we'd require a till receipt. Printing this appeared to be a problem for the staff member. When the food came two of the sandwiches had been changed to toasties. I raised this with the server and read the receipt of what I had ordered to confirm and was told 'ok'. No apology or offer to rectify the order. I was made to feel like a problem for raising this. To top it all off the cordial served with my toddlers meal was not diluted at all and the latte was disgusting! The outside area looks nice and the food was ok otherwise it was not a nice experience at all.

Upon arrival, there was a small lunchtime rush on. Placed my order at 13:23- a simple caprese panini and a Coke Zero. My 2 friends ordered immediately after me (2 paninis, 2 coffees and 2 cold soft drinks). After 25 minutes we were still awaiting our drinks. My friend got up to remind them we were still waiting. They said the drinks were just coming. A couple who arrived after us had received their drinks and their food. After 40 minutes we were still waiting for our drinks. I took my receipt up to the bar and said we had been waiting 40 minutes and had already asked once. At this point, the cafe is very quiet compared to our arrival. The (many) servers who were stood behind the bar rummaged around for our tickets which had been buried amongst others. After another 5 minutes we finally received our drinks. We continued to wait another 20 odd minutes for our 3 paninis to finally arrive. The 3 paninis were disappointing to say the least. The salami panini had about 3 pieces of salami in and 4 rocket leaves, the mayonnaise nowhere to be seen. The paninis would be bearable if you’d had waited 10-15 minutes, but waiting over an hour for them is quite frankly shocking. The table next to us, a family of 6 with small children, had a very similar situation. Service not up to standard with the amount of staff working. Food not up to standard and it’s quite hard to get a panini wrong.

We’ve been here before on a few occasions and had superb food and lovely staff, oh how that has changed during our visit today, staff couldn’t have cared less, we ordered the goat cheese sandwich, hardly any filling and looked like the sandwich had just been thrown together, no delicious pizzas, no chips, menu terrible no choice at all, hardly anyone in so you’d have thought the service would have been quick oh no had to chase the order, 35 minutes for a sandwich, needless to say we won’t be going again, why change things when it must have been a goldmine that lovely little basement cafe and now it’s totally wrecked, well done whoever had that great idea, reading the reviews I don’t think you’ll be trading much longer, what a shame!!!

This fantastic cafe hosts our Harrogate ladies group,every month. We cannot speak highly enough of the incredible, professional staff ,the ambience and the delicious food and drinks. The best americano outside Italy, my favourite place to pop in with my husband regularly, what a gem for Harrogate.

Cafe Marconi used to be one of our favourite places for lunch in Harrogate, with a good varied menu. Unfortunately they have suddenly changed the menu and it now consists of cold sandwiches and paninis, they no longer even do chips as a side order! I’m not sure if they no longer have a proper chef or have just simply installed a panini maker (as mentioned several times on their recent instagram posts), certainly it looked like the waiting staff themselves were making the paninis when we visited the other day…I had the chicken and bacon panini and while it was reasonably tasty I’m afraid it wasn’t a patch on the same club sandwich they used to do, the filling was rather watery and not overly hot…service seems to have taken a hit too as it was rather slow and there seemed to be several people complaining…hopefully things will improve but I’m afraid we won’t be visiting as often now unless the old menu and service returns…shame

Nice enough place, put waiting 35 minutes for food - 2 sandwiches - is not acceptable (2 other tables walked out before their food came). Staff food came out before lots of customer orders. For those wanting gluten free, they do gluten free bread but it is the very cardboard like . Genius' bread.

What a great little place for breakfast! Food is fab, the coffee is strong and waiters lovely and friendly. Try the bacon sandwich you won’t regret it! It does get busy though so book ahead.

Wonderful little place. Menu had great variation/options available. The only thing I critique is the automatic 10% service charge. I'm more old fashioned and prefer to leave a cash tip after having the food/drinks, not before experiencing the goods and services.

Caffe Marconi is somewhere I have to visit every time I am in Harrogate. It serves proper Italian dishes but I am always tempted to have a coffee and one of their gorgeous cakes. Their staff are curtious and attentive. A great place to visit. Sit in or out.

Been coming here for years but disappointed in the experience now. Service was slow, other diners served before us, and didn't have what I wanted from the menu. Two of our three meals were overcooked and dry. 10 percent gratuity added to bill but not deserved in my case. After paying there was resistance in giving me my receipt. Not good! I've enjoyed this cafe in the past but won't be back anytime soon.

Marconi’s was always my favourite place however the menu now is smaller and the individuality it had with its lovely crockery has now all been replaced with cheap alternatives. Portions are a lot smaller and my sandwich was so dry and tasteless (club). Such a shame

Disappointing food, sent back but dealt with promptly and refund given without any fuss.

Dreadful. I had a sausage sandwich which I paid £7.95 for. Very hard bread and only one sausage! One sausage! The Mrs had an egg muffin for about the same price, no butter, bone dry solid muffin that could not be cut. She was offered a steak knife! For a muffin! We got a refund for the muffin and so we award one star for that. Never again.

Nice Italian cafe tucked underneath offices on Princes Square. Good coffee. Food options included sandwiches, paninis, soup, sharing bites and salads. The bruschetta trio and Marconi salad were good. They also had a large selection of cakes and pastries which looked good.

Exceptional service 👏 in all aspects. Italian coffees, the breakfast is so delicious and with a high quality of fresh ingredients. We go regularly in weekends to enjoy our breakfast. I strongly recommend it to all.

Always great for coffee and a sweet treat or a lunchtime sandwich. Do miss the lunchtime pizzas, though... They were outstanding but sadly absent from the menu after what appears to be a sudden and quite dramatic change in the faces running the place... Guessing a change of ownership, but the current operators are certainly trying hard. A relaxed favourite when in Harrogate, and the outdoor seating on a hot day is very pleasant.

Looks like a nice place. Popped in for a quick drink (teas and hot chocolates) just before they closed. Teas could have been hotter at the time of serving, but it did mean that we were able to finish and get away timely. The staff are nice and helpful, if you need a quick refreshment break and you are in the area, then give it a try 👍🏽

Staff very friendly food and coffee very good

They serve some of the best coffee I've had. Also lovely ice cream and a great selection of cannoli and Italian pastries. If I didn't live 120 miles away I would definitely be a regular. If you're in Harrogate please support this independent coffee shop and café.

Lovely caffe. Don't let the name full you. They also do food. It's an in between a caffe and a restaurant. Had a lovely pizza which I recommend with mushrooms, mozzarella and goat cheese. Base was nice thickness and not chewy. As it's an in between don't expect fabulous drinks, but we recommend the menabrea on tap.

Half hour wait to be served . Music far too loud unable to have conversation. Coffee great ,cakes excellent. Quite sad really as let down by the service.

We had a fantastic lunch here - I had the gluten free diavola (very generous on the pepperoni - my type of establishment!!) and my other half had a normal margarita. Both delicious but we were particularly impressed with the quality of the GF pizza which was superb. Staff very friendly too - thank you!

Coffee is always a test of a good cafe and here is high quality coffee combined with warm friendly service, and great cakes too if you want them. The outdoor area is lovely to sit in and offers you the chance to be outside with some weather protection from the walls and umbrellas.

Coffee, pastries & pizza to die for! Well worth a visit. I can personally recommend the quattro stagioni.

We were super lucky and managed to get a spot in the morning sun and drink coffee and est pastries. That's really not a difficult life. Almond croissants were flaky, tasty and melted in your mouth. The pastries were something I have had before and wasn't a bad choice to go in there for a second time. Chilled and relaxed atmosphere

Lovely lunch felt bit over priced

Managed to get a table inside after we asked and staff were all very welcoming.Service was good.Inside was clean and all staff wore masks.Marconi club sandwich was very nice.Only negative was one in our party didn’t want garlic Mayo and this was stated on ordering. It did arrive to the table with garlic Mayo. Staff was informed and was no problem to have it re done.So just a genuine mistake.Pizzas were excellent and very tasty.

Brilliant out door birthday meal on a cold, blustery day. Best gluten free pizza I have ever had and really lovely staff!!!

My husband & I had a coffee and a sandwich on Bank Holiday Monday. Whilst the coffee was good, the food was not at all up to the usual standard there.The Avocado & pollo sandwich at £5.95 consisted of tasteless chicken, pureed avocado served in STALE thin white sliced bread.The salad garish had wrinkled tomatoes and undressed leaves. I was not asked when paying if I enjoyed the food and had to mention to the waitress how unhappy I was, only to be told you should have said earlier and then she would tell the chef and nothing more was said and nothing offered to compensate. I left feeling extremely disappointed and the visit was definitely not to the usual high standard.

It claims to have vegetarian food, but it does not.WhenI mentioned this to waitress no offer was made to offer me eg goats cheese salad.I ended up eating rocket salad and chips.No protein.

Ordered 3 pizzas for takeaway. Ready on time even though very busy. Turned out there was an early bird offer, which meant I only paid for 2. So tasty. Had 3 pieces left to take home for supper. Very friendly staff.
