Pizza Express in Harrogate

The pizza was burnt round the edges and was cold. Couldn’t fault delivery driver he was friendly and polite. I ate some of the pizza, because I was hungry. But for pizza express, I was surprised, because it’s normally very good.

We arrived at the restaurant around 1pm after a walk to town in a rainy weather. Me and my two kids were very well looked after by Raul, his service was amazing and he was very friendly with my kids. All three of us had pizzas and dessert. The pizza was cooked perfectly and the honeycomb cheesecake was absolutely delicious. Thank you very much for such a lovely experience on a cold day. Ramona

Ordered a margarita 11” pizza. Chef created a masterpiece, hand on heart possibly the best pizza I have ever ordered in 10 years. The dough had the perfect thickness with the perfect crunch. I would recommend to all.

Although this is part of a large chain, the atmosphere here is just like a family restaurant. The five guys manning the ovens were a joy to watch as they worked tirelessly to fulfil our orders. But what really made our evening were the serving staff. Sarah in particular made sure that we were made welcome and all our needs were met. She made sure that she addressed our disabled daughter by name and laughed and joked with us throughout the evening. Lovely pizza, salad and desserts. A very enjoyable evening. Thank you.

I fully understand that a restaurant is busy during weekends, i have worked for several years in the industry. The whole point of this app/service is to enjoy the food hot and fresh when it arrives, not to turn on your oven and reheat the pizza's as they are stone cold. It might be the delivery part that wasn't good, it might be the restaurant, i am not sure, but i am not impressed with this occasion.

Had a great time at Pizza Express in Harrogate! The food was tasty as always, and it came out really quickly, which was a plus. The staff were lovely and made the whole experience even better.

Really poor quality pizza that tastes nothing like any pizza express pizza I've ever had. The dough balls were poor quality too. just don't waste your money on such low quality fare.

Nice quality but missing H G peppers ... a key ingredient. Salad had 2 tomatoes chopped in 2. Very stingy when you think of the cost. Free delivery is a nice incentive.

One of our favourite family eating out locations. The Harrogate Pizza Express is not only great food and excellent personal service, it's above all a place to enjoy and celebrate with friends and family. I've been coming here for 20 years and never had a negative experience.

Horrid.. pizza bland .. lasagna was £15.00 pounds and was like a pound ready meal .. utterly shocking … how is this chain of restaurants still going ???

We had a lovely trip to Pizza Express in Harrogate on Monday 19th August. The starters and Pizza’s were delicious and the lady who served us was delightful!

Order cold. Last time I mentioned about getting a cold order, it came piping hot and delicious. If I wanted a cold pizza, I would cook one earlier in the evening and eat it cold when I wanted to eat. Let’s get this right next time please 🙏🏻

Popped in for a quick lunch, great Pizzas quickly delivered, lovely staff, great value.

Amazing service, we came along fairly late in the evening having travelled throughout the day, and despite the verge of closing they were able to seat us and serve up some great food, decent tip deserved

Not very impressed with the Halloumi bites could of been a little bigger for the price. Pizza was nice.

Our go to place for meals out with the young kids. Staff are always lovely and really accommodating. We've brought plastic plates and cutlery with us a couple of times and they've even offered to wash them for us which is really nice.

Ordered BBQ chicken pizza , there was no cheese base what so ever barely any chicken on it. Definitely won't be ordering again.

Wanted some nice lunch before work ended up going to work hungry pizza and calamari arrived after I left.

The food was lovely, but lukewarm at best. I think it must have been sat there quite a while before being given to the courier.

Food was as expected I travel about for work and visit a few of these branches but the waitress was over attentive to the point it became irritating. I’d have a glass 3/4 full and I’d been asked twice if I wanted any more drinks, tried to clear my table 3 times while I was still eating and before I’d even unfolded the receipt I was being attacked with the card machine. Probably seems a little harsh but while trying to read it did ruin the visit a bit.

Great friendly place for a quick family dinner. Kids live it.

Just back from taking my kids birthday and I he kids had a great time, the food was great as always and the service was fantastic! Some of the best I have had in any restaurant. Thanks again for looking after us so well

Solid. Have not been here for a few years. Quiet lunchtime. Pleasant room, pleasant service. Menu slightly bigger than I remembered. Pizzas fine. Bases rather lacking in ‘rise’. Must be fashion as I’ve met this elsewhere. Toppings were ok. Could have done with more garlic in my prawn and garlic pizza. Wine pricey but ok.. Still a lot better than many chains.

Cold food, according to the app the driver was waiting at the store over 20 mins. Time it came out of the kitchen 1849, didn’t get to me till over 30 min later

When the food finally arrived it was stone cold. Chicken was like rubber. It’s was actually disgusting. I threw it out. Only edible thing was the chocolate cake. Never again

Friendly helpful staff but you go to a restaurant to experience decent food. Not here. My grandson was twice (they tried a second time after we complained) given pasta that was just not cooked properly. I (and the other grandfather) had Caesar salad, or at least that is what they called it. Limp lettuce, minimal Parmesan, no bacon, awful chicken, worth about 25% of what we paid. Never again.

Good reliable pizza, unfortunately too expensive for what they are.

We took the family for a meal to pizza express in Harrogate, we were instantly made to feel very welcome, lovely quick service with recommendations for what to have. The food was delicious and the children loved their dough balls, pizza and dessert too. Highly recommend

We had two tables at lunchtime today, one for adults and one for the children. Our waiter was fantastic, he really looked after us and made our meal easy and enjoyable even with a load of children! We didn’t catch his name, he was Italian and a credit to Pizza Express.

Excellent pizzas! Busy early evening restaurant in the town centre. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

We had a good service, very helpful staff, food arrived soon after ordering, tables were clean, there were some colouring pens and drawing paper for children, the waiter was very attentive and friendly, prices were ok.

Food order time get getting changed as no driver was available. It states food won't be repaired until a driver was assigned. Driver was assigned after 40 minutes of times changing sur to no driver. Delivery was 5 minutes from the final confirmation and food delivered was cold, clearly food was prepaired much earlier to driver being assigned and sat waiting going cold cold cold

Good food and service but the truly excellent thing is the value for money. Make sure you use the Pizza Express app and you'll get very good food for an amazing price!

Haven't been to Pizza Express for a while, popped in for lunch with a friend. The new decor is so nice and despite being busy, we were seated straight away, our waitress was very smiley, polite and attentive, all the staff were. Food was delicious, atmosphere great, will be definitely back! Thank you Pizza Express Harrogate!

Lovely meal with family before the Pantomime. Particularly tasty Bruschetta, one of the nicest we have ever had. Staff friendly and very helpful.

Always enjoy eating in this Pizza Express. Always a warm welcome, all tables that have just been used are usually cleared away straight away leaving the restaurant looking clean and presentable. Nduja calzone and the lasange were wonderful. Promptly served by very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Lively atmosphere with a lot of customers in but still a very pleasant experience. Will be back soon.

Food was really good. We had to wait for plates so we could share our starters. Eventually, after asking yet again, my husband had to go and ask for the plates. He saw the original member of staff that we had asked was sitting down eating his lunch. He had clearly forgotten. They were eventually brought to our table, our starters were on the cold side by then. The female manager's attitude towards us wasn't friendly or helpful at all. She was passive aggressive, when she saw we had birthday and tesco vouchers. She kept saying it was in the small print. We have no idea what she meant or what she was talking about.

Sadly we ordered our food at 6.38 and didn't receive it until after 9 pm. Couldn't get hold of anybody regarding this as they didn't answer the phone. Also, the food had obviously been waiting along time as it was rock hard and cold. I wouldn't have minded, as I totally understand things happen, if the driver had at least given us an opology or received a message from the restaurant with an apology or explanation. We will not be purchasing or visiting pizza express again.

I will not be ordering a takeaway from pizza express again. I don’t mind paying thirty pound for a pizza and two sides if you are eating in a restaurant but not for a cold pizza and cold garlic bread and dough balls. Very expensive and not worth the money even with the delivery charge from just eat

I went out last week with a few pals and shared 3 pizzas. Genuinely the best pizza I’ve tasted in a long time! Full of flavour with fresh toppings. The staff were incredibly friendly and wouldn’t see our glasses run dry. Definitely recommend! Very reasonable prices and was left bursting at the seams. Kudos to the managers for running a great team and making sure the quality of food is on point!

The order app updated to show delivery drive waiting at Pizza Express just before 1pm. At 1:40pm it had not been updated and showed him still waiting for the order. I called Pizza Express who confirmed the order was ready for the drivers arrival and there was no wait time. The app updated just before 2pm to say he was on his way. He arrived at 2:10ish over a hour after picking up the pizzas. They were cold! He explained he had been to pick up another order on his way to deliver the pizzas to Orchard Care Homes. No apology. This was a large order of £193.19 for the works Christmas lunch. I would like to raise a complaint for a refund.

Order never showed, restaurant disinterested in resolving the issue and said to apply for a refund.

Not as good as previous visits. Very noisy with kids. Food OK but not the best we've had here.

Very disappointing. More staff than customers, 4 “chef’s” without counting waiting staff. Very loud, we were at the opposite end of the restaurant and could hear “chefs” chatting very loudly. Halloween decorations were being put up, whilst customers eating. Surely this should be done before customers arrive or after they leave? Food, below average. Chicken Wings to start, which arrived v quickly. To be honest, we believe they were microwaved. Hot on outside, cold in the middle. Pizza’s cold within 5 mins of arriving. Manager needs to sort out body odour issues as when she leaned over the table, it was all you could smell.

Pizza was incredibly dry, meant to have béchamel sauce on, I only ate the spinach, literally it was far too dry to eat and that’s such a shame as they are normally amazing

It is certainly the case that Pizza Express have raised their game in recent years and the menu is now rather impressive. We booked a table in advance to use some Tesco vouchers and were sat at a great table near the window in what was quiet a busy restaurant (1:30pm Saturday). The waitress assigned to our table seemed rather busy with other tables so we seemed to fall between her attention and that of a very effective and efficient manager. Unfortunately this was a theme throughout the afternoon which led to us waiting for significant periods to order and revive food leading to a 90 minute stay for what was meant to be a quick lunch between shopping. Thankfully, the food, atmosphere in the restaurant and hard work of the manager made up for this. The food in particular was excellent with the new dough ball started excellent and a very tasty and generous burnt ends pizza. Overall, a great meal but denied a 5 out of 5 by an obvious lack of staff which is a great shame really

Well, you can't go wrong with PE. Pollo De astra was spot on. The service was particularly good on this occasion. Toilets were nice and clean and cutlery replenished. Good value for money.

Had a great group meal here in August. A large party of 9 adults and 8 kids. Service was great and we were all attended to well by the waiting staff. Food was really enjoyable. Would recommend !!

Always so well looked after by this delightful and very accommodating team especially Eva and Brig. One of the best places to enjoy a meal out with children in Harrogate. Really fun place to celebrate a birthday party too.
