Excellent service from all front and back of house. Food delicious as always. The lads on shift out did themselves today and gave my partner and daughter a wonderful experience. Ben was very friendly and attentive and absolutely should be given a raise along with the chef 👌🏻

Good food and service but the truly excellent thing is the value for money. Make sure you use the Pizza Express app and you'll get very good food for an amazing price!

Haven't been to Pizza Express for a while, popped in for lunch with a friend. The new decor is so nice and despite being busy, we were seated straight away, our waitress was very smiley, polite and attentive, all the staff were. Food was delicious, atmosphere great, will be definitely back! Thank you Pizza Express Harrogate!

Lovely meal with family before the Pantomime. Particularly tasty Bruschetta, one of the nicest we have ever had. Staff friendly and very helpful.

Always enjoy eating in this Pizza Express. Always a warm welcome, all tables that have just been used are usually cleared away straight away leaving the restaurant looking clean and presentable. Nduja calzone and the lasange were wonderful. Promptly served by very polite, friendly and helpful staff. Lively atmosphere with a lot of customers in but still a very pleasant experience. Will be back soon.

Food was really good. We had to wait for plates so we could share our starters. Eventually, after asking yet again, my husband had to go and ask for the plates. He saw the original member of staff that we had asked was sitting down eating his lunch. He had clearly forgotten. They were eventually brought to our table, our starters were on the cold side by then. The female manager's attitude towards us wasn't friendly or helpful at all. She was passive aggressive, when she saw we had birthday and tesco vouchers. She kept saying it was in the small print. We have no idea what she meant or what she was talking about.

I went out last week with a few pals and shared 3 pizzas. Genuinely the best pizza I’ve tasted in a long time! Full of flavour with fresh toppings. The staff were incredibly friendly and wouldn’t see our glasses run dry. Definitely recommend! Very reasonable prices and was left bursting at the seams. Kudos to the managers for running a great team and making sure the quality of food is on point!

Very disappointing. More staff than customers, 4 “chef’s” without counting waiting staff. Very loud, we were at the opposite end of the restaurant and could hear “chefs” chatting very loudly. Halloween decorations were being put up, whilst customers eating. Surely this should be done before customers arrive or after they leave? Food, below average. Chicken Wings to start, which arrived v quickly. To be honest, we believe they were microwaved. Hot on outside, cold in the middle. Pizza’s cold within 5 mins of arriving. Manager needs to sort out body odour issues as when she leaned over the table, it was all you could smell.

Had a lovely time, Roal was amazing especially with my granddaughter. He was very attentive and polite.

It is certainly the case that Pizza Express have raised their game in recent years and the menu is now rather impressive. We booked a table in advance to use some Tesco vouchers and were sat at a great table near the window in what was quiet a busy restaurant (1:30pm Saturday). The waitress assigned to our table seemed rather busy with other tables so we seemed to fall between her attention and that of a very effective and efficient manager. Unfortunately this was a theme throughout the afternoon which led to us waiting for significant periods to order and revive food leading to a 90 minute stay for what was meant to be a quick lunch between shopping. Thankfully, the food, atmosphere in the restaurant and hard work of the manager made up for this. The food in particular was excellent with the new dough ball started excellent and a very tasty and generous burnt ends pizza. Overall, a great meal but denied a 5 out of 5 by an obvious lack of staff which is a great shame really

Had a great group meal here in August. A large party of 9 adults and 8 kids. Service was great and we were all attended to well by the waiting staff. Food was really enjoyable. Would recommend !!

Well, you can't go wrong with PE. Pollo De astra was spot on. The service was particularly good on this occasion. Toilets were nice and clean and cutlery replenished. Good value for money.

Been in for lunch today, and firstly I have to say there’s a good selection of vegan options, which I very much appreciated. The staff were super friendly and the atmosphere was great. I love this restaurant as you can visit any time of day and you still get the same great service, smiley staff and of course delicious food! Ordered for a delivery as a bit of a special treat apposed to our usual Friday night takeaway. When order came, my initial thought was they had handed over two empty boxes, when opened up I did not appear anything like I am used to in the franchise’s restaurants. It was extremely small, barely any sauce or toppings covered the measly slithering slab of doh. Taste was ok but my local pizza pan tastes better. The doh balls were bland and tasteless, resembled chip shop un buttered bread cakes. On a positive note the delivery was quick. For the price you expect a bit more than your average high street pizza place. Will never waste my Friday night takeaway fund on this overpriced disappointment. I am now off to raid the cupboards for additional and substantial food to fill my empty belly.

I’m not sure what’s happening to this PE.. in the previous months the service has become quite poor. Staff just don’t seem bothered. Maybe they feel bad about losing some custom to the guys next door but on my last three visits, from being seated we’ve just found ourselves sitting about waiting, either to be served initially, when asking for help and even trying to pay the bill. It’s not because the place is too busy either. Real shame and sorry for the generalised criticism, I just hope it improves.

Firstly the positives - just the one, the staff were cheery. Now the negatives. Friday night at 6pm and there must have been about 6 kids parties going on which is great if you like kids parties, not so good if you don't. Why don't they make a section of the restaurant a "childrens party zone" so that grown-ups can eat without the cacophony of noise?? The food was pretty mediocre and straight off the production line as befits a chain restaurant, poor value too. Drinks ridiculously overpriced - over £3 for a cup of lukewarm filter coffee? 30-minute wait for main course which was unacceptable. Couldn't wait to get away and won't be going back. Did we complain at the time? No - completely pointless, would have fallen upon deaf ears

Pizza express is great as you know what to expect food wise, I just wanted to thank our server - I’m so sorry I didn’t catch her name but she is the lady with short hair who has been there for years!! Everytime we visit, whether as a couple, large groups, girls night out or like this afternoon with our toddlers she is fantastic, welcoming and knows how to work the group. The service really took a hit when she left work this afternoon after finishing her shift, she is an asset to the place! Thanks!

You know what to expect with Pizza Express and it was good!The menu is now available online - fantastic solution for covid without creating unnecessary waste with disposable menus.The vegan mezze and doughballs were really good (and neither used vegan cheese!) The service was quick, the waitress incredibly friendly and attentive.They may not have partitions or visors like other restaurants, but the measures in place made a safe and friendly environment which was enjoyable to spend time in.

Awful! Tables too close/no screens & some chairs actually touching chairs from other tables. Table we were on was opposite the kitchen & was really in the walkway to the kitchen & toilets. Not possible for anyone to get through with a gap as they had placed a table ‘ for social distancing’ at the section of the kitchen that was screen off... meant everyone was funnelled against our table & along past the uncovered food & unscreened area of the kitchen. Half way through we started counting how many times someone past close to the table- we stopped at 40 & left. Appreciate staff need to get the food & people need to use the toilet just don’t put a long table in that section & zone off the kitchen so people don’t walk close to it. Table at end of our table for socially distancing serving hardly used by staff & if used they touched shoulders with us. Food not put there as per their own guidelines but leaned over us. Side plates dirty; cutlery had big thumb prints on the knife part.No masks or visors. No one way system or different entrance/exit although have 2 doors. No social distancing from staff with customers or each other. Stood breathing over people’s food whilst waiting for their customers order. Never saw any staff wash or sanitise their hands. Dispenser on entering weak & hardly used. We have been going to PE Harrogate since they opened but won’t risk it again. Went to Falmouth PE 2 weeks ago & excellent approach to Covid. Felt very comfortable there. In fact we have felt comfortable in every other restaurant apart from this one. Harrogate PE your competitors are taking Covid seriously- please can you take it seriously too.

We booked a table in advance for 2 adults and 2 children. No menus, due to Covid. It took 15 minutes to finally register and view the menu. The waiter finally arrived and we asked for two different types of pizza from the menu - both unavailable. A total waste of time. We went to the restaurant next door and got exactly what we wanted. An absolute waste of time and it would suggest that the pizzas are pre-prepared and frozen. Not good ☹️

We went here after lockdown restrictions eased and it was disappointing that few safety measures had been put it place. The staff sat another group very close next us, within touching distance and without a partition screen like other restaurants. The staff themselves although nice and very efficient were not wearing masks and visors, which is surprising since the visor protects them as much as it protects me. When washing hands the water was freezing cold and never got up to a warm temperature. Further, the hand sanitiser by the door was clearly watered down. The food was fast and still classic pizza express standard, however some things have been taken off their new smaller online menu.

We were in Harrogate having booked before lockdown and wanted a safe place to eat with the hotel not offering any food service. We like Pizza Express usually good quality and in our opinion the best of the high street chains. Things were well organised, well space tables, felt airy, the staff were jolly and as attentive as they can be with all the precautions for Covid. Food didn’t disappoint and they do have one of my favourite beers!! Well done Harrogate branch.

Ordered a Deliveroo last night, we got the small portion of doughballs, polenta chips and a margarita pizza. It took 71 minutes to arrive, once it did, was stone cold and WET! It wasn’t the riders fault either as he took the right amount of time to arrive, we’re only a 5 minute journey if that away from the restaurant. The polenta chips were completely inedible. The dough balls tasted raw and the garlic butter accompanying them was rock hard. I think the food must have been sat around for a while before it was delivered. It was literally the worst meal I’ve ever ordered. The food was swimming in water, to the point it had actually started to turn to mush. Polenta chips are supposed to be crispy!! My partners pizza was also disgusting. Flavourless, bland, cold and soggy! Any Italian chef would have had a heart attack! Not good enough, especially not for £18! This restaurant has seriously gone down hill. Will NEVER be returning!

No point coming to pizza express looking for an independent romantic restaurant, but you know what you are getting from this chain. Service is always good, and although the Harrogate branch is noisy it’s always got a good atmosphere. We usually go for the same menu as the two course deal is a winner. Love the tomato and mozzarella salad....be better if removed from the fridge as it’s always freezing. Then La Reine pizza, I could eat this all day!

Not a good chain of pizza express. Staff not at all welcoming and carried out the most basic service possible, it was not even busy. The pizza was so bland, oily and heavy. Not at all pleasant and completely flavourless, it’s quite hard to get a margarita pizza wrong but I can honestly say it’s the worst we’ve ever had. Myself my mum and my son left over 3/4 of our pizza and no one bothered to enquire either during or at when taking our plates to see if anything had been enjoyable or allowing us to complain. A very expensive mistake that won’t be revisited, a real shame.

I looked at yre menu and got a shock at yre prices for pizza, the same pizza where I live is 3 times cheaper, where do you find yre prices, is it cause its harrogate and you all think yre millionaires...

We went here for our sons 18 birthday as a family and although we had pre-booked we were placed in the really noisy part of the restaurant and we couldn’t hear each other.The meal was ok and I had been sent a discount voucher from the App but I had miss read it and there is no discount on a Friday which we felt that it wasn’t good value for money.

Had a lovely meal with the hubby and kids on a Thursday evening. Booked online about an hour before our visit and were welcomed by a lovely lady when we arrived, who ushered us to a cosy booth.Food was excellent and the incorrect starter that was delivered to me by accident was dealt with swiftly, so no problem.Atmosphere was great - quite loud with chatter but just added to the overall experience.It is quite expensive (I swear the Leggera pizzas are smaller and thinner than they used to be, and yet cost more) but we used the Tastecard so got a decent discount. Plus, the food is really good so don’t mind paying a bit more.All members of staff who dealt with us were really friendly and attentive - would definitely visit again the next time we’re in Harrogate.

I’m really surprised to see a couple of negative reviews regarding the service at this branch of Pizza Express. We recently went again and had an excellent and friendly young waitress called Evie. She was bright, new the menu, recommended a couple of things and was attentive the whole time we were there. Evie was polite and we would definitely return there

We have to say in all honesty that this is the worst Pizza Express restaurant we have ever had the misfortune to frequent. Firstly, come the starters (change of waiter since our order was taken) no dough balls arrived for our youngest. Secondly the quality of our main courses. Never had pizzas like it at a Pizza Express. Wet, soggy dough, tasteless and mediocre - any self respecting Italian chef would be appalled. The salad was smothered in what tasted suspiciously like Heinz Salad Cream and the children's food was just awful. The Pasta Bolognaise claims to be beef and tomato but there's no beef present and the tomato is simply thick smears of pizza base. We alerted the waiter who didn't know Bolognaise was a beef based sauce. The Manager arrived but what can you do? The food is awful, we certainly didn't want any more of it. Our daughter ate a few mouthfuls but couldn't stomach anymore.Thirdly when we went to the toilets we found the vestibule floor covered in dirty toilet tissue - maybe this had just happened, we don't know but it was certainly in keeping. To be fair, the manager refunded the cost of the children's meals but really this isn't the point - we want quality food that we can enjoy, not rubbish that comes free. Today our daughter is ill in bed and my wife had a bad night on the toilet. It's hard not to put two and two together. Never again for us here and it'll be a long time before we risk going into another Pizza Express. How the mighty are fallen.

We were greeted pretty promptly, and sat down relatively quickly. However, once sat down it took 10 minutes and the Manager (who initially seated us) to notice that we had not yet been served, not even asked about a drink. I haven’t even had the food yet and it will more than likely be mediocre - that is if it is any better than the service up until this point.

We came for a family lunch at the Harrogate branch of Pizza Express and it had such a lovely feel to it. Really friendly attentive staff, advice on the items on the new menu and really good service. The food was excellent. Our waitress was called Zuzana and was really friendly, bubbly and non intrusive, a credit to the Harrogate team. Would highly recommend this branch.

We visited as a family of 7 on Sunday afternoon and arrived in the heavy rain. We were nicely welcomed and shown to a large table in a quiet corner. The waitress went over and above to look after us and explain everything - even making a fuss of the 3 children in our party.

Visited Pizza Express tonight, service was excellent. The food was served very quickly and was lovely. We would visit this restaurant again.

We visited this evening (05.10.19) as a family and had Nikola as our server. The food was good and came hot, however our service from Nikola was beyond terrible. Her English was questionable and she lacks basic customer service skills. She seemed to mutter and rather smile and ask ‘can I get you any drinks’ she just appeared at the table and hovered over us. She did not smile once, she was also so slow clearing up we ditched my daughters pudding that was included in the menu and just asked for the bill. Again bill was presented without a word or smile spoken to us and again when we paid. Our servers are normally lovely here, but we were let down tonight.

I had lunch recently with my friend and 6mo child. There was plenty of room for the buggy and it seemed very child friendly. The staff were attentive and helpful. The food was really good and they let me take home what I couldn't eat there. I will dine here again.

I took my daughter and children to the pizza express for tea and to end a special day out! We asked for a table away from other diners and explained that the youngest child had additional needs and we didn’t want to disturb other diners! We were shown a table next to the door and right next to another family! We asked if we could sit in a booth which would be more secure for the youngest child! We ordered meals for the children and coffees for ourselves! We asked for a jug of water and the children were given glasses we asked if we could also have a glass!

The food was good but the service was rubbish, there was loads of waiters around during our starters but by the time our mains came there was almost no one around, when we wanted to order some more drinks we had to go to the kitchens to find someone, same with the bill.

We went to the restaurant at lunchtime on a Sunday. There were very few customers. Our order was taken promptly by a waitress who was very clinical and did not engage with us (she looked fed up!). Despite the lack of customers, our food took ages to arrive - about 20 minutes. My wife ordered Roasted Veg and Ricotta Romana, but got Leggera Vegan Roasted Veg! Rather than wait another 20 minutes, we accepted the pizza. It was tasty, as was mine, but the promised Gran Milano cheese was missing - assume they had run out, but they did not bother to explain.

A clean, nicely laid out, clean restaurant with a good range of choices on the menu. And good options for kids. The service was very efficient and the food was more than acceptable and reasonably priced. An enjoyable family meal in pleasant surroundings.

After arriving and being informed that there would be a maximum wait of half an hour we ordered 2 pizzas to share between 4 of us and 2 portions of doughballs. We waited for 50 minutes and when asked about our food we were told 8 more minutes. 15 minutes later our food arrived. But not before we watched a waiter stand next to us and pour a glass of wine back into a wine bottle.. How professional. Overall friendly waiters but very slow service and food definitely wasn't worth the wait.

We went en famille to this Pizza Express and the service was slow and disinterested. We were more than 2 hours. The table was left and the staff came nowhere near us.

Tonight we went to pizza express for a girlie meet up me and 5 friends when we arrived we were shown to our table we then given menus to see what we wanted on looking at menu the waiter was wanting to take our order we asked if we could order drinks first and if he could give us a few more minutes to look at menu, we order our drinks then when he came back we order food food arrived and it was lovely could not fault it at all after mains then waiter came back and asked if we wanted to look at dessert menu we said yes we would he brought them over and we were looking but within minutes he was back to asked what we wanted we asked him if he could gives us a few more minutes cause we had not decided if we wanted one or not he returned 25 minutes later to asked what we wanted we all declined one as we were full and he mutted something about all the time we went and we decided no, Then on finishing our drinks i was watching a waitress setting the tables back up that had been used and her face said it all she clearly did not want to be there she was banging the glasses down i surpised she did not break one, we then asked the same waitress for our bill and she said she was going to get it 15 minutes later and still no bill so we asked the waiter who brought it within minutes we then asked the waitress if some of us could pay by card and 15 more minutes went by before she came to us to say we need to go to the till to pay then the waitress is messing around on her phone when she should have been more professional the whole experience was so very poor will not be going back there again

Went in today at lunchtime and after reading other recent reviews was wondering what the service was going to be like. All I can say is that the pizzas were the best we’ve had from Pizza Express and the staff were lovely.. couldn’t fault them thanks..
