Wagamama - Harrogate in Harrogate

Unfortunately we had poor service when visiting here recently. The waitress forgot part of our food order, she then attempted to cover up the fact she forgot part of our order and when we asked again (20mins later) about where it had got to another waitress told us that the fryer they cooked that particular product in was broken and we should have been told that when we ordered our food initially!!! The whole team looked deflated and not interested, we asked for the bill then had to chase someone to pay, I honestly don’t think they’d have noticed if we’d just upped and left. The food we had was good, and whilst I understand how Wagamama’s works, having been a fair few times, I did find it odd that the kids meal we ordered came out last (it was also not what we ordered)! Overall, whilst I normally love Wagamama’s I won’t be visiting the Harrogate branch anytime soon.

Table 371 today. My ramen was extremely salty. Such a shame as otherwise would be delicious. The other meal had tiny bit of curry sauce on curry meal, way too little, nothing like the photo. Bathrooms were very dirty.

Ordered through Deliveroo. Food arrived stone cold and the staff couldn’t even confirm the timings of dispatch. Funny thing is that paperwork in the order did. 45 mins to deliver! The worst thing is that the ‘higher’ management, because the ‘manager’ wasn’t the ‘manager’; simply stated that it’s not our problem! There’s me thinking that if you engage another company in a service then you are ultimately responsible. Poor, poor service Wagamama. Take ownership

Wery good food, reasonably priced. The service was a bit slow and the place could use a it of TLC. Overall, enjoyed our time and dinner.

I'm not keen on the idea that the food doesn't come out per table but just whenever suits them. It's tasty and the servers are nice enough but seriously.... If you order from different sections one of you could be waiting for 45+ minutes while others get their order in a couple of minutes. Tip, apparently, is to ask how long each section is going to be.. but for me, nope you can keep it.

I’ve never been to a Wagamama so I was quite excited. I was greeted by friendly waiter. I awaited my wife and daughter. When changed tables to a ‘booth’ . He took our drinks order, so far so good. Our food order was then taken by an unfriendly lady, quite unhelpful, my wife mentioned she was Gluten Free so the waitress disappeared and came back with a GF menu. This much reduced menu meant that my wife had fewer options and had to make her decision then. It would be good if this was checked as we sat down so she could have longer to peruse. The waitress then said that all of the dishes would come out at different times: bizarre as this is the only restaurant I have ever been in that would do this. My wife’s came first ( the supposedly tricky dish), mine finally came 15 minutes after hers. I was very disappointed with the service from this waitress. The food was good. Not sure if I would return.

It's Wagamama's, if you know what it is, this is a fine example of one of their sites.

Went for lunch with the kids and wish we had gone sooner, food and service was great the waitresses talked to the kids which made them feel all grown up and even help my 13 year old pick a dish has he was going to ordered a very spicy one all the food was great but if your going try the beef buns, roti and duck gyozas which where all amazing and the kids loved them all. Will definitely be going back and I will be trying there delivery next time we have takeout.

Unfortunately we didn’t have the best experience due to having my usual chicken dish which was pink and not cooked properly, this is very disappointing as berm going these restaurants for many years, I don’t like to complain but this is unacceptable and this should be checked before leaving the kitchen

Really enjoyed our meal here. Food was delicious and very authentic tasting. The manager James was easy going and we had a great laugh about where we thought each other came from. Our waitress Kit- Kat was very pleasant and made sure we were accommodated with our order. Service was outstanding. Highly recommend coming here for a meal if you are ever in Harrogate.

How cool to be able to dine at a wagamas again. Being it is no longer in New Zealand which is a shame as it is an awesome authentic Japanese dining experience. James the manager was an excellent host giving us great banter and ideas on places to visit in Yorkshire. As well as our server [Kit Kat] Caitlin was brilliant and fantastic.

Wagamamas is always incredible. They helped facilitate a young family which is always a big bonus

A really interesting menu and the staff were helpful in advising on the choices. Very tasty beef bao buns and duck gyoza for starters. Very interesting variety of main courses - amazing and very tasty spicy miso mackerel, shu’s shick chicken with tasty coconut and curried chicken. Unusual but nice Japanese cherry tea and free green tea. 1 portion of the very very tasty white chocolate cheesecake. A great lunch.

Probably one of my favourite places to eat out especially now that I'm on a high protein macro rich diet whilst staying under 2k cals. In fact the only place I can eat healthy and track my calories whilst still staying in a deficit. The staff are always super friendly and the food always fresh. The food does come as it comes and not all at once but that is the waggers way to keep it all fresh, it's always been like that so deal with it. And Ive got to admit, I love the atmosphere and style of the place with large long sharing tables. Place is always packed full after years and years in town so that says something to me. Price wise even in today's climate I would say it is damn reasonable 😍❤️🔥

The food was lovely and cooked perfectly. The waitress “kit kat” was extremely welcoming and polite, ensuring my girlfriend and I were alright throughout our visit; she even complimented my girlfriends outfit which made her smile a lot. we will be sure to return soon, thank you :)

The worst waga we ever had. Ordered online for 7.40 collection, food wasn’t ready till 8.15. When I came in they told me the food hasn’t been ever prepared yet as they have run out of tofu!!! Then magically they found tofu….. the organisation and management is scandalous, the manager was nice she did apologise. But we still unhappy with this and the food was very very bad, my hot pot didn’t even taste anything like the hot pot I always order, they missed on loads of ingredients, the rest of the food was very salty.

Food average for the price paid. A lot of ingredients unstimulating to the pallete. Seating arrangements can be better organised.

Is this what Brits think rice is supposed to be? My son says it tastes like when you eat off-brand cereal. 😂 It's oddly raw, grainy, but also mushy at the same time. I'm not even sure that's physically possible! I'm wondering if it's even actual rice or plastic. Seriously gross. Flavors are just all over the place, too. No real purpose to any dish. It's just a concoction of random ingredients on every plate. It's actually quite funny that it passes as good here and people seem to like it. If you've lived abroad or traveled and eaten real Asian cuisine this will be a train wreck.

This restaurant is authentic and homey. The food did cost a little more than average but for luxury food, it is worth it. Service for food was quite quick; however, the apple juice wasn't what I was expecting... It appeared to be foamy and a glorious green beverage.That immediately turned an unappetising brown. The server was flexible and fixed it aswell as substituting sauces e.c.t The green tea lacked flavour but was a pleasant thing to just relax and sip...without burning your fingers on the hot,traditional cup. The mains, well, you've got to taste for yourself. The prawn dishes, gyozas, skewers were literally drowning in flavour, without the need to add more. Don't try the 7 spices unless you eat chillies for breakfast. Order a ginger cheesecake thingy and heaven awaits.vWithout the need for apple juice, the wagamamas experience was 111111111/10 Erin 11 yo

Just the two of us. Been to the Ivy and decided to call in at Wags. Ordered food,got the first order and had to wait ten minutes to get my partners meal. Not happy to been kept waiting. Was offered free desert, but wasn't the point. Waitress took finished plate away and asked how the meal was as she walked away and not us giving time to respond! Bit of training needed in customer service.

We went on a Sunday and it was fairly busy. The service was great amd the staff were really friendly until they had a shift change and we were pretty much forgotten about. Luckily we had our food before this happened. Overall it is worth a visit though

one of my favourite restaurants ever. food is sensational

Wow, shockingly bad! We ordered takeaway at 9.15 on a Saturday night. Despite the restaurant being dead (2 diners in) we had to wait almost 30 minutes for ebi katsu and a katsina curry. We took it to our hotel 5 minutes away and it was absolutely stone cold! The chicken and prawns were rock hard, and it looks like the curry sauce was rationed! Won't be back.

Quick stop for lunch whilst in Harrogate .. Waga is always our trusted choice . We were welcomed by the manager young lady that looked after us was super nice and very familiar with what we ordered! The Mackerel dish was one of our choices and it was truly well made delicious with exploding very well layered flavours. We have been using Wagamama for many years at least since the York branch opened, this is in my opinion possibly the only casual dining company that has managed to remain on top and maintain it’s standards of both service and food quality.

Always a family favourite, and because we arrived in a big group the staff gave some people free drinks to move so we could all sit together.

The food was very good, the service was a total shambles. Missed dishes, ridiculous wait times and the bill being wrong. The girl who served us was very apologetic and very nice. But all in all...the service was an absolute disaster

Attended here for lunch post Christmas shopping. A warm welcome at the door was appreciated. Service was speedy both in taking our orders and serving food to our table. Lovely atmosphere and food. The food was delicious. Ample portions. Served fresh and hot. Being able to pay via the app at the table made life easier with not having to wait for staff to sort out our bill. Would highly recommend.

always a lovely visit at wagamamas;the ramen never fails to be nothing short of perfection and the service is always incredible.Went in the other day with some friends who never tried Wagamamas and as a frequent visitor i am extremely happy at all how impressed they all were with the food.Shoutout to our waitress el who was the absolute loveliest <3

A first visit for my family, we had a 11 month old and the manager so kindly provided us with a bowl of hot water to heat up her food. The staff couldn’t be any more helpful. Food was quick and delicious. Will be returning

First visit to Wagamamas with my friend Food was great but didn’t come out together? Nice relaxed atmosphere. Friendly staff. The benches are definitely not for short legs very uncomfortable need some steps for the shirt ar… 😜

Great staff (Thomas we loves ya) and management (Rob we loves ya too!) who do everything they can to make you feel welcome. Food consistently good/above brand standard BUT £7.80 for less than a pint of beer???? £6 for a regular pop can size of yuppy beer (although tasty) or a not-very-nice & also expensive for 440ml ipa thing.. This is where they lose a star! Beer price rip-off is essentially the only complaint they really get here apparently. They can’t do draft on site. An actual pint of Arsesahi in Westfield London Waga is £1.60 cheaper. Essentially £8 for a bottle of Asahi cooking lager is as ridiculous as it is insulting. An own goal. So let’s finish again on the wonderful staff (Thomas and Rob and Chefs), tasty food and warm welcome and have a glass of water on the side instead. And “boo yah sucks ya Scrooge!” to the franchise owner/Beer monitor.

Enjoyed our teppenyaki and donburi, but was surprised to find that the ramen contains dairy which meant we couldn't have it. We don't often visit this chain, but I'm sure we used to be able to eat ramens and that the menu was more extensive. The staff were very good, as usual.

Most disappointing meal I’ve ever had at Wagamama’s. Not only is the Gluten Free menu a joke, take a look at the photo but the Grilled Chicken Ramen is like a washing up bowl with some noodles, flavourless chicken and some spring onions floating around in it. Totally tasteless. I wouldn’t call this a meal. I mentioned this to staff and their response was “it is the most bland meal they do”.

Wagamama doesn't disappoint as per usual. Harry our server was excellent took time to chat and make our experience warm and welcoming. Well done and thank you, look foward to coming back.

Do not venture to this place, the toilets were disgusting where everyone was eating. Walked out Didn't order any food. Saved been poorly next day

Chicken katsu curry was delicious 😋 our server Asura was very super attentive and helpful, staff make a difference to the atmosphere of a restaurant and he deserves a medal serving a table of 7

I have not visited this place as usually I try to avoid chains. However, I was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed the food. I had gyros which were tasty. One of my daughters had Thai curry and rice which was delicious. I am thinking that I might go back there again. 😀

You know what, the service was brilliant and the staff are great, food flavour was ok not as good as any other wagamama and I would have loved to give a flawless review however.... The steak soba was a little lacking or dull in flavour but The duck gyoza didn't taste or look very good and think they may have been the reason both me and my wife added up with food poisoning, it was the only thing we ate and last night was shocking, so as much as we like the place and the staff as I said are brilliant the food just kicked the daylights out of us last night so will stick to a different wagamama in future.

I always go to wagamamas in Harrogate if I'm here work and sometimes a meal for one is daunting but the staff are so friendly and chatty it makes all the difference. I had the kare burosu ramen and its the best I've ever had. Packed with flavour. Couldn't recommend it more.

The best meal I've ever had at Wagamamas. The Kare burosu ramen was absolutely insane, the flavours were 10/10. The coated mushrooms were soo good too! Emily was great, really friendly and when you have a meal for 1 being away with work it makes such a difference. I could recommend it more :)

A better wagamama in my view. Food was delicious. The mushroom buns some of the best and the sticky vegan ribs delicious and not overly spiced. Had the vegan Karen lomen for main, slight more kick than I liked but with some of the sweeter soy sauce from my wife's vegetarian gyōza it was perfect. I have to mention the 'chicken' in the kare lomen. Seriously it tasted like bbq chicken. Was awesome. Slight delay on our juices, some issue with the apples but the staff were super attentive and kept us entertained. Had a great night, good atmosphere with it being busy but not so full that you felt overwhelmed. A great night for us and thank you to the staff who made the night along with some tasty food 😁

Rude server. My order had been already given to another customer who was returning it as we entered...the food was shockingly poor. Old, miniscule portions and the server was not polite or friendly

A bit overpriced for the amount/type of food and service. Seems like a fun place for kids. It is very noisy with bad music, though few customers. They have a gluten free menu which is very helpful for people with food allergies and makes it worth a visit.

Came here for a late dinner because not much else was open and was reminded how good a Wagamama is. We enjoyed yaki soba and pad thai and got our own table as it wasn't busy. Service was good too.

Oh Wagamamas what would I do with out you. Lovely, food, service and atmosphere. Staff especially are fantastic. My only gripe is that I'm still Mourning from the loss of Chickem Itame....been years but I'm still not ever it.

I had a takeaway of prawn firecracker. And it was actually a firecracker. I just loved it. It was so flavourful and spicy and yummy. They also gave me extra chilli oil and sichimi powder. 🩵🩵

I love wagamamas but have never been to such a poor chain as this one. The staff were lovely but the food was nothing like in other chains. Dry noodles, very oily food and chilli added when requested no chilli. Avoid this Wagamama and head to york where you’ll get much better quality food.

We noticed that there was a Wagamamas while eating at the Ivy the evening before. We love Wagamamas and don’t have one anywhere near us so we decided to stay a bit longer in Harrogate to make sure we could have lunch here before going home. It did not disappoint. The children’s Katsu was great, reasonable portion sizes, they really enjoyed it. My husband and daughter had the tantanmen beef brisket ramen dish and I had a chicken katsu as well (I love this dish here and can’t seem to branch out when I get chance to visit). We all really liked our food and the manager was lovely to chat to. Telling us all about his upcoming trip to Japan and being very thorough making sure my dish was suitable for my nut allergy. A very pleasant experience and a perfect end to a Bank Holiday stay in Harrogate.

The was the first time we'd eaten at a wagamama restaurant. Staff very helpful, lovely atmosphere and lots of choice on the menu. I'm dairy intolerant so it can be a challenge sometimes. My only gripe is that both mine and my partners main course and dessert arrived about 5 minutes apart.

Our first visit, the food was amazing. Staff were friendly and helpful and meals were delivered quickly and hot. Unfortunately, two of us went but meals came separately, even the dessert. I think it would help if you both order the same. I would go again though.

Not been to Wagas for while, quality has gone way down. Not bad food but just average and way to expensive for the portions. Service left a lot to be desired, it was just bad and none of the staff actually seemed to give a dam.

I had the shushiok jackfruit and it made me smile. Even if it was a little on the small side.

This place is the best! We came here a few weeks ago as it was my first time having Wagamama's and it really didn't disappoint! The food was amazing and the staff were so dedicated to their customer service from start to finish! Big shout-out to Lucie and Leigh for being so sweet and making it a lovely experience. Definitely will be back💗

Used to love Wagamama but tonight our delivery was mediocre at best. We ordered kimchi, only 2 small bits arrived. I ordered extra curry sauce, hardly any in the pot and hardly any sauce in the main dish. Still tasted good but portions were shocking!

Food was perfectly cooked very fresh and vibrant. Staff were friendly and welcoming. Plenty of room for my wheelchair but I did feel very low down to the table.

Always good food but please be careful and avoid paying directly to Wagamama via their QR code on the menu,we did and the transaction was intercepted by scammers.

Very impressed.. it was a very busy night and all the staff were extremely kind and helpful. Food was delicious and the overall experience was fab! Definitely recommend.

Food was great(as always). The waiter was pushy and unwilling to provide us time to decide what to eat.(just stood at the table til we decided, awkward) He also proceeded to write all of our order on one of the mats which caused us massive confusion when trying to order extra starters. Based on this the party that accompanied me and myself will not be going to this site again.

Friendly service and a varied menu with options for vegetarians and vegans. I think the food has gone downhill in the past few years. It looks like the kitchen is trying to cover a fairly full restaurant and dozens of delivery orders. My meal lacked flavour, apart from the ginger on the top. I struggled to find any mushrooms, despite it being the key ingredient. There were crispy bits that just seemed to be burnt bits from the wok.
