Beautiful, fresh chop suey with bean sprouts instead of noodles. A wonderful local find and reasonable price and portions. Highly recommend.

I came here with a family group of 6, we came for a late lunch at 2pm and stayed until 6pm! The majority of us had the Sunday roast of pork loin which was pretty much a traditional roast with a few little twists, such as the carrot purée which was delicious. It came with plentiful vegetables, huge Yorkshire pudding and the most amazing red wine gravy-they gave us large jug of extra gravy! My niece ordered a variety of tapas style dishes which she thoroughly enjoyed. We also had the salted caramel tart with clotted cream ice cream. Plenty of wine was ordered and some mocktails which were delicious. Plenty of choice for vegetarians, vegans and those with dietary requirements. The staff were very friendly, service impeccable and we were not rushed or made to feel we were outstaying our welcome which was great as we had come from London to visit family. I would highly recommend this restaurant and am looking forward to my next visit to try some of their tapas. I thought the prices were very good for the quality of the food.

Ordered a bacon sandwich and poached eggs on toast with bacon. The sandwich arrived with 2 rashers and the bread didn't cover the rashers. The two pieces of salad garnish were yellow and slimy! The 1 rasher of bacon added to eggs on toast cost £2.50! I asked for the slimy side garnish to be removed and larger bread. A muffin bacon sandwich returned with no garnish at all the muffin wasn't big enough to cover the palm of my hand. Pot of tea served with no milk. Bettys has premium prices and the size of portions has shrunk beyond reasonable. After discussion, the cost of the ba on sandwich was removed and an apologie was accepted. Calling at the cake till, we were charged £4.50 for a takeaway custard slice. We will not be going again. Bettys is no longer the premium establishment, it's daylight robbery.

Our second visit to the Wellington for lunch. We all had fish and chips, one of the best ones we have had. Delicate thin, melt in the mouth batter and lovely white haddock. The mushy peas were great too Portion just right, not overkill with too many chips and the haddock was a decent size. All beautifully presented and served by friendly attentive staff. We love this great little pub, it was busy, with everyone enjoying their lunch, relaxing cosy ambience with their two wood burners on, on what was a very cold Saturday. Booked in again for another evening meal in Feb 😊

We've been coming to the Crosby for our Christmas dinner for a few years now. This year we attended and all had turkey which came with a massive home made yorkie, roast tatties, parsnips and stuffing. We also each got a bowl of veg - sprouts, swede mash, carrots and mashed potato. We asked for extra gravy and this wasn't an issue. I had pre ordered and when it came to desserts I had made an error and ordered the wrong dessert for one of our party. The staff happily changed it with no grumbles. An excellent meal - roll on next year.

Our favourite place to eat when we are in Northallerton. My husband is vegan so it is rare to find somewhere to satisfy us both. We always have the cooked breakfast - my husband having the vegan option, while I have the builders breakfast. The food is cooked to order and always delicious. The staff are very friendly and the cafe clean and welcoming. We will be back again soon.

Have eaten at the Friaridge twice recently as attending clinic appointments. Food is very good for a hospital cafe and very keenly priced. Choice of dishes is not magnificent but it serves very well for what it is.

On our way to Greggs but passed by here, cheaper sit in and great pleasant waitress service. All round a chance stop but well rewarded.

Situated in a lovely location behind the church the Oddfellows Arms is a really nice traditional pub, and certainly one of the smartest in town. Service was welcoming, there was a nice atmosphere and our beers good.
