Have eaten at the Friaridge twice recently as attending clinic appointments. Food is very good for a hospital cafe and very keenly priced. Choice of dishes is not magnificent but it serves very well for what it is.

A gap between appointments meant initially a cup of tea, however, having seen the menu and portion size we had toasted sandwiches with real hand cut chips....lovely meal and the staff were great. Will call again.

l was working at FHN Hospital and had the most amazing meal, Chicken Pie and leek with the great chips (mans chip) not fries, chunky chips. The lady behind the counter were so polite and the portions are so excellent l will not need to eat for the rest of the day (farmers portion) that's what l call them. If ever you are visiting the hospital or even Northallerton i would highly recommend you eat here, great food fantastic portion and amazing value for money.

Again visited Cafe Plus after an appointment. Had a large bacon butty and cup of coffee. Plenty of filling served by very friendly and helpful staff. Prices at this cafe are very reasonable. Well worth a visit.

Doing locum staff cover here, so tried both the lunchtime menu and the full breakfast. Chicken & leek pie with proper homemade chunky chips...yummmmmm. Breakfast was enormous, good quality bacon, eggs done to order. Only a small canteen/coffee bar size, but the cooking is second to none. Service is efficient and wonderfully obliging and friendly. Friarage have made the right choice in not contracting this service out!

Visited cafe after treatment and can highly recommend the Bacon Bap. Four good sized rashers of bacon in large bun served by friendly staff. Only available mornings until 11am.

Needed a cup of coffee while waiting for an early appointment and found an ideal venue with happy and friendly staff who even tempted me into having a great slice of toast and butter. The coffee is excellent. I may try a juicy bacon sandwich next time.

Was visiting a family member in the hospital so decided to get a quick lunch. The food was surprisingly very good. Quite a good menu with a decent choice and very cheap. The quality of the food outweighed the cost. I would even consider popping in just for a lunch and not visiting. Presentation was not the best but after all it was quick and easy.

For a small kitchen they produce good home cooked food. A choice of two hot mains a day or salads or sandwiches. Hot & cold drinks available. It is usually busy at lunchtimes which says a lot about it's popularity. Dessert or fruit available.

On a visit to the hospital decided to have a full English Breakfast. Good value for money served by friendly staff. Breakfast consisted of bacon, egg, beans, tomato, black pudding, and fried potato slice accompanied by brown whole meal toast. Very filling.

Hospital food at its best. Have eaten there three times this year and enjoyed a bacon butty and cup of coffee. Freshly made at a reasonable price served by friendly staff.

Was visiting someone in the hospital and decided to have lunch here. The food was enjoyable, very busy when I first arrived about 12.45pm but was quieter by 1.30pm What struck me was the prices, so cheap! £1.20 for some home made soup (sweet potato and ginger) and they do fresh pizzas as well. Hope I don't need to go back to the hospital but if I do I will eat here again. Oh yeh and fresh Lavazza coffee £1.50 a mug!!!

For a hospital cafe/ canteen, the one situated at the Friarage Hospital in Northallerton is second to none. From homemade triple cooked chips to fresh soups made on the premises (regularly served with homemade soda bread), fresh pizzas, lovely home style fresh dishes lunch and evening, toasties, paninis, sandwiches and daily specials (the Aberdeen Angus burgers are a must) they're is something to suit all tastes and requirements. Breakfast is also served from 8am until 11am, and all the usual is available. Also they've started doing battered fish on an evening and as resident of northallerton I can say the fish is the best in town ( and the cheapest) . They also serve amazing coffee, on a parr with other high street coffee houses but half the price, they even have a loyalty card. The staff are courteous and friendly, no request is too big or small and all will be done to accomadate. The seating area is okay, although some outside seating for summer and soft seating would make it better. All in all, a great little place to dine if you happen to be at the Friarage in northallerton.

An absolute gem of a place! We highly recommend it to anyone coming to York for a holiday or short break. Only a short drive from the city centre. The carriage rooms are really snug, warm and cosy, the bed was really comfy. The food is fantastic. The staff were friendly and professional. Thank you for a unique & wonderful stay!
