I was a chef in the Army for a long time and this was the best tasting value for money in Withernsea, I have tried every where in Withernsea that provides breakfast!
After booking a table we walked from the seaside camp site in red hot weather and two little dogs with us to be totally ignored by 2 young girls I had to ask several times were they would like me to sit and there response was anywhere
There wasn’t much shade but I did find a table out the back (not the best)
I then had to go ask for a menu and tell them we’re we were sat
Minutes later we did get the restaurant menu that looked very nice but wanted something lighter so again went to ask for cafe menu
Waited because it does say table service
Then told order at counter.
Again was totally ignored no one seemed to want our business
When I did eventually order they didn’t have anything left what we wanted so we walked away very very unhappy with the experience and definitely disappointed
( one last thing I hope the lady I think the manager managed to sell one of her pieces of art because she seemed to be more interested in that than serving people )

The staff are always friendly and polite and the food is always delicious. I appreciate that they take extra care with dietary requirements. My girlfriend is vegetarian but I'm not, so they either prepare hers first or change their gloves, knives etc after preparing mine. They also have a decent selection of choices too.
I called in with my mum for a sandwich which they make to order, I’ve been before mainly for bread and sweet baked goods which have been really good. We ordered 2 chicken and bacon salad sandwiches, one with mayo and one without because I hate mayo. Got back to my house and sat down to eat and I discovered there was mayo in my sandwich. I took it back and complained to the same lady who served us, she did not apologise and refused to give me anything else to eat claiming they had no bread rolls left (no mention of any alternatives) and short changed me by 60p on the refund. I left hungry and annoyed.
Never usually have fish and chips unless I'm at the coast, they are very often a disappointment. The King Fryer is an exception!!! The fish and chips are delicious, the batter is crisp and not too thick. The fish, firm and white. They also make fish patties which are gorgeous. The owner and staff are lovely and the shop is immaculately clean.
The staff were nice and the actual cafe is not bad but the barista yesterday let the milk froth on its own ??? so it was just screaming through the cafe and it was painful to watch. Please teach your staff how to froth milk, it shouldn't just be left on the machine to froth itself. It's like rule number one.
We visited on a sunny day so we sat outside where they have a nice set up near the entrance to Saturday market.
Both girls working the outside tables were lovely and did their jobs efficiently and well.
Had a Bridlington crab sandwich which came with a really nice quality salad and a couple of hot drinks.
Really nice setting and will visit again regardless of the weather being favourable.
We booked the venue for my mothers 90th birthday. Communication with the owner, Alison was first class. Nothing was too much trouble. Food on the day was lovely and inventive and the ambience of the place couldn’t have been better. Thankyou Alison, regards Sarah
