Lovely little pub. Service was top notch when I went food is unbelievable and big portions too. Has outdoor seating should you wish to sit outside and it's dog friendly too. Has a conservatory that children are allowed into.

My husband and me had a meal here on 25/9/24 and found it excellent. I had cajun chicken with chips, salad, onion rings and peas, it was as described on the menu - succulent. My husband had the steak and ale pie with mash and peas. We were both extremely pleased with the meal. The portions were large and the food was piping hot (which we both like!!). It was excellent value for money. We will be visiting again at some point.

I booked a table here for Sunday lunch prior to our visit to Withernsea and it's a good job I did!! When we arrived, nearly all the tables were reserved. Friendly lady behind the bar was lovely. The pub was very busy but the service was quick and the food was great, only downside was the beef on the roast dinner was a little tough but the gravy made up for it! Delicious! 2 large glasses of wine, a zero lager, pint of coke, a j20, 2 Sunday dinners, a lasagne a kids meal and a pudding only came to £54!! Amazing value! I can see why it was so busy.

Came away for the weekend, visit Withersea, popped in to The Spread Eagle. Great atmosphere, very professional and welcoming staff. We arrived in between them, serving meals, yet they said we could nip to a takeaway if we so wished and eat it in there which we did. Went in the next day , great atmosphere again. When we left , I had forgotten my gloves , they found them and put them behind the bar and I collected them later that evening. Exceptional public house. Will be heading back up there again.

Very dog friendly inside or outside. Meal for 2 , gammon and cheese salad with jacket spud, beer and pepsi £26. Huge plates of food, excellent value and very tasty. Serves food from 12 till 2pm. Definitely recommend.

We went in at 6.30pm, not realising they stopped serving food at 7 but last orders were 6.30pm so we just made it. I had the hot chicken and mushroom baguette with chips and salad and my friend had the steak and onion baguette, she didn't realise they came with chips so ordered a portion to share. It didn't take too long for the food to come and it was lovely. Big chunks of chicken or steak, nice side salad, fresh. We took our dogs in as well so that's a bonus. We ended up feeding the portion of chips to the seagulls outside, they didn't last long. Looks a bit rough and ready but I liked that, it reminded me of the pubs I went into as a youngster. Overall a decent experience and would go back again.

The Hunter's chicken was so very delish! Tender and juicy with a flame broiled flavor. Loved it! The bartender is very nice and prompt. Will be returning :)

Hard to find a pub serving food in Withernsea so we were left with the Spread Eagle. We had the Steak and Ale pie and their equivalent of Hunters chicken. Both were really nice with generous portions at a decent price Would recommend.

Wow what an amazing restaurant! I really fancied a roast dinner today and we came to the spread eagle. Not only were the staff very friendly and very helpful the food and portions were absolutely delicious.

Normally use here everything we come so gave a 2 because food is normally spot on. We're ringing all morning from 11am and only got answer machine. Walked in and got sat down as wasn't busy at all to be told bookings only even though our friend I. Front got served and didn't book.

The food and beer was first class ,staff were very polite and accommodating. The volume and the language of the local regulars was terrible . Well worth a visit but get as far away from bar as you can

Called here at 9.15 pm .We were told last orders were about to be called.There were around 25 people in the bar at the time and a few calling in when last orders were called.Its a strange concept in Withernsea some pubs state its not worth staying open because of the lack of customers and close around 7 to 8 pm .If you pass during the day the same pubs are empty but they stay open even admitting they haven't seen a customer for 3 hours. How they survive is anyone's guess but one things for sure they won't attract customers shutting up shop when they have around 25 people in their pub.

Great place for a pint and a bite to eat alone or with Family. Quite a few locals use this place and gives it a fun atmostphere as theres often a good level of banter at the bar. Everyone is friendly. The food is well cooked traditional pub food, well priced and pleantiful

Just had 4 meals Breaded chicken Mixed Grill Gammon and Pork chopped all recommended excellent meals staff brilliant polite a could not fault anything. Highly recommended if you are in the area and will be returning.

This place is a hidden gem, friendly staff, really great prices and lots of quality food. Can't fault the place. Less than £50 to feed a family of 7. We will definitely be coming back when we're in the area again

The spread Eagle is a traditional friendly street corner community pub. It is a very lively popular marstons pub. There is a nice grey parrot in the bar. I didn't have anything to eat, so I couldn't comment on the food, although seeing it coming out of the kitchen, it looked very good and seemed very popular. They have a wide variety of beers, lagers, and cider however sadly there is no cask conditioned real ale, so we had a pint of the shipyard, and then went in search of some cask ale. The pub is dog friendly and child-friendly shows sky sports and has live music.

Called in 4pm on Saturday afternoon. Staff rude and told not doing food ! Even though people were eating . If you can turn away custom in these times it’s not good

Food on the day was very good, however when we tried to visit a 2nd time were told that they didn't serve on a Wednesday despite their advertising stating that they served daily.

Food very tasty and plentiful at a very good price, would certainly recommend.

A fabulous place to eat , friendly and very accommodating. Food prices were excellent for the quality and quantity. Can honestly say its the best Lasagne i have eaten anywhere. Fantastic choices on the menu to tailor everyone, so good we are back again tomorrow for sunday roast. Don’t judge the outside appearance of the venue as a bit tired , its whats inside that counts. 😊

We went in spread eagle today for dinner fantastic food and service the amount of food you get it's puzzling how they make any profit. I had a mixed grill and had to leave some as I couldn't eat it all .definitely be going again 100%

We stopped there for lunch after visiting the lighthouse museum. I had large English breakfast which was large and tasty. Others had jacket potato, mushroom omelette and ham & cheese toastie from kids menu. We have to wait for our food a little bit longer, but it was nearly full inside, so that was understandable. It worth mentioned that this place is dog freindly and dogs are allowed in whole venue.

Nice spacious pub serving good food at a decent price. Staff are nice too. There is a beer garden, so you can sit in or out.

Good pub, great bar staff. Got there early to watch a live band called Tin Soldiers, only to be spoilt by an idiot couple who decided to stand directly in front of me & block my view. Anyway, they left after the first set so ok now!

Booked for Fathers Day, 7 of us. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Freshly cooked, so you wait a bit longer, but would rather have this than ping n ding. Will defo he back next year, when on holiday in Withernsea

Forgot to take a picture of the meals. Sunday dinner was plentiful, the beef was spot on. Hubby had gammon and chips, the gammon was nice and juicy, mixed grill was also ordered and all the meat was cooked just right. Best meals we have had in a while.

As a family group, we wanted to go for a meal. We also had a young child with us . We walked in, then straight back out ! Full of very drunk men using unapropriate language one star as it was dog friendly.

Unbelievable portions at a great price,you can't see it in the photos ,but the gammon steak goes all the way under the egg.The baguettes were filled to the max,really,really good.

Food is really nice and very well priced staff friendly & it’s also dog friendly . In the middle of Withernsea we also went on the bank holiday & they wasn’t serving food but aloud us to bring chip shop food in.

The first time we came it was absolutely brilliant, super friendly staff, really kind and helpful. Really great food at good prices. They're dog friendly too so our puppy was able to come with us. The second time, their cook wasn't available so they weren't serving food, but they said we could buy fish and chips and come eat it in their dining area!! I bought drinks and we ate. How lovely is that! Definitely above and beyond in my book. Definitely recommend going!!

We visited here as a family of 6 (4 adults, 2 children) and a small dog. The pub is genuinely dog friendly, with well behaved dogs allowed anywhere within the bar or restaurant area. It’s a traditional worker’s pub, but serves excellent pub food. The portions are decent, the food is tasty and it is excellent value for money. My only criticism is that a couple of the tables in the seating area were dirty and there was food on the floor. It doesn’t take much to wipe the tables and sweep up between guests, so this knocked it down a star for me. However, I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it for a good value, good quality family meal.

They do very nice meals there, try the Sunday roasts..you won't be disappointed excellent value for money, friendly and helpful staff well worth a visit.

Came before we set off home having spent weekend at Sand Le Mere, wish we would have eaten here every night. Having spent over £50 for meals out in the restaurant in the holiday village (2 adults one infant), this was a fraction of that price. I got the mixed grill, was lovely and a lot more food on the plate than I thought for the price! My partner got the steak pie and she loved that too. The kids meal are what you expect. A few people moaning about swearing, it’s a pub… not a Michelin restaurant. Exactly what you’d expect for pub food and well worth the money. Shame we didn’t come here on our first night!

Fantastic tasting food with a massive portion at a good price

Visited here for a drink on the Wednesday night. They were not serving food due to the owner/chef gone to the races but said we were more than welcome to bring in fish and chips inside if we liked while we had a drink. Great. The next day we booked for 6 people at 6pm. When we arrived it was quiet. Sat down to look at the menu and went to the bar to order. First thing was I asked for 2 hunters chicken, they only had enough for one...so changed to a lasagne... Then asked for the beef and gravy baguette...no beef. So changed my mind to the steak and ale pie.....ran out of that aswell! So in the end we ordered one gammon and egg. 3 lasagne 1 hunters and my mum didn't fancy anything else so didn't order. After waiting for over 50 minutes for it to arrive I was livid. The lasagnes were microwaved with a pool of oily water pool in the soggy middle. The chips were cold and chewy and the limp salad just made the whole plate look sad. The hunters chicken came out and the chicken was that dry my teenage daughter couldn't even cut through it. The Gammon was the only thing that was cooked ok but the two fried eggs where that hard and over cooked my son just laughed at them. I went to the bar to complain and the girl just said sorry and il let the chef know... Didn't see her again. We left starving so ordered a kebab. Gutted due to it been our last night of my family's little break away. Maybe the chef was still hung over from the races but they really shouldnt advertise fresh cooked food when they are serving that rubbish.
