Update: I really love this butchers, and oh my, are there soooo many excellent looking BBQ cuts today. So excellent looking pre-marinated full rack of ribs, but also so excellent looking naked ribs; just great looking thin layers of fat, which is precisely what you want 🙀♥️. Needless to say, I had to pick up a pasty for lunch 😹 Original review: Excellent butchers, really friendly staff, and if you haven't tried there pies, you're missing out! Interested in BBQ foods/meat, talk to the staff. They have a great range of meat that are excellent for a BBQ. Though some cuts you may need to ordered in advance, especially if you're not only a "fair weather BBQer" (aka you BBQ all year round) 😁👍

Please stay clear of this shop. Had the intention of going in for a custard slice " which I was told are legendary" & ended up spending over £50 on lamb kebabs, stroganoff, garlic mushrooms, sausage sandwich etc etc. Just tried the stroganoff with garlic mushrooms & added some cream & brandy. Absolutely sensational!!! Well worth a visit. Can't wait to try the rest...

I ordered and received a buffet yesterday from The Deli for my daughter’s baby shower. The food was amazing! Fresh, so much taste, flavour and beautifully presented. Everyone commented on how lovely it was. Just wanted to say thank you 🫶🏼 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I would give six stars if I could. Brilliant products, not the cheapest but you get what you pay for. Steak pies are a must.

I popped into Fields to buy a family meat pie. They’re expensive but my grandson had requested one for tea when they come. I was making my way home so I decided to pop in to buy one on my way back. I had left enough room on the top of my trolley for the pie but it had started to rain so when the lady placed the said pie on the counter in a paper bag it bearly fit into I asked politely if she could pop it into a plastic bag ( as I am often given these pies in one of those plastic bags on my previous visits) and I didn’t want a soggy pie when I got home. She told me they were 20p, to which I decided not to bother as the bags are not the size of a normal carrier ( probably only big enough to fit the pie in) and not suitable for other use as they are very flimsy and nothing like a carrier you would buy in a supermarket. I also have a right to decline. I made no other comment about it but the woman proceeded to lecture me, in a very patronising way, in front of a queue of people, about the law of the land ..about if she went to tescos she would have to pay for her bag etc.etc. I say etc. etc. because she kept repeating herself loudly, as if I were stupid, so that the whole queue could hear. Well I might be elderly but I’m not stupid. I understand the laws of the land in regards to carrier bags. I can chose not to pay 20p for something that I don’t think is value for the reasons stated earlier. So, I’ve told my family that’s the last meat pie from Fields they will eat at my house. In fact I’ve told all my friends who live over in Sutton who I take pies to that I won’t be shopping for them anymore. £8.95 for a pie and a patronising service is not good value. Fields needs to learn about value and how to value customers by teaching staff that are lacking in customer service skills how to carry out their jobs.

Bought some bread cakes to try. They said they are made on the premises. Was looking forward to trying them. Very disappointed they had no taste at all, tasted more like mass produced bread. For home baked bread they should have had a different texture and taste.

Brilliant, when visiting family from manchester, I always go to this gaff, the steak pie is amazing, they have a massive variety of meats, all top quality, there is also a bakery a few doors up, amazing...

Best butcher in town and they do the best custard slices

I heard the rumour of the humongous vanilla custard slices through family and friends. And boy did they live up to there great standards, it was as big as my head and took me three sittings to try and eat just one. They where so yum. Plus the staff were really helpful when I asked about an allergy for my friend, although I would maybe suggest to the company to have a written guide of the ingredients. As we were still a little worried when we left. Other than that lovely staff, and so many options I'm definitely coming back to try some of the stir fry options!!

Very very dry scones I bought two today and there defintely not fresh shame as they always used to be so good!

Best Butcher for miles around! Award winning with a window dressed so enticingly that your mouth starts watering at the sight of it. A huge selection of bbq food, cooked and prepared uncooked meat, savouries, pies and sweet cakes. Often a queue during hot summer days but well worth the wait. If you are thirsty after waiting then pop into the Deli a couple of doors down for hot take away sandwiches and a range of drinks and cakes. Win- win!!

We got two chicken breasts and some bacon. The products were absolutely gorgeous and we would shop there again.

Came especially for the vanilla slice, only to get home and find half the icing missing.. Very disappointed.

You always know you will be tempted to buy more than you intended when you see the extensive range of meat and pastries/pies You pay a bit more for the goods but well worth it.

The shop has always been excellent and I have no concerns about recommending it to anyone, 5 stars all the way. In total contrast, the bacon sandwich I had from the van (I was waiting to attend an appointment at SpaMedica in Willerby) was cold and unpleasant, I threw more than half of it away. I hope this is of help in raising your standards in this area as it is not a true reflection of your main premises.

We went to the bakers/butchers. We ordered quite a few things and a bbq pack everything was good. The bbq pack was ok but have had similar quality and cost less. Vanilla slice and meat pies were great. The only thing that both my son and i commented on was the female staff. They where not very friendly and we did find it a little off putting.

Ordered two buffets on seperate occasions in the past week, absolutely beautiful. Service of the ladies from ordering to collecting is second to none and so helpful. Food and selection is outstanding & plentiful amounts. Thank you so much

I've just received a delivery of an order that I placed yesterday! and can I say how impressed I am with the lady who delivered it. I believe she was on her way home after the order had been overlooked today. ( I dont expect next day delivery although it normally is! so wasnt expecting it today to be fair) Thank you for going that extra mile for your customers. I'm sorry but I dont know the ladys name but she normally delivers to us and that was really nice of her to fetch it out of her way. Just love the selection of food available. Even in these trying times I could browse the selection and choose what I needed. The staff where as always very helpful and polite. Great place and highly recommend.

The quality of the food is honestly impeccable. Yes it's pricey but the quality honestly does live to its expectations which imo you can't put a price on! The customer service is amazing. Definitely shopping here for my meat rather than supermarkets from now on. Also been sending my partner to go to the deli for me for the ham sandwiches because of pregnancy cravings and honestly no words, would eat everyday if I could but isn't good for my bank balance lol. Shop local, it is so worth it!

I've been a customer at fields of anlaby for some time and would have always recommended them but over the past few weeks they have been absolutely fantastic quickly setting up a website for people to order online and next day delivery in most cases!! they have stepped up when many havent during this time of crisis and i would like to thank you very much. keep up the fantastic work xxx

Received my order on Monday delivered to the door by very friendly staff. Due to being self isolating I rang an order through rather than visiting the shop . Had my fix of meat pie and quiche already up to now. Pork pie just amazing as always. Thank you well worth the money as always

We regularly visit Fields as I still always maintain they make the best coffees of anywhere I’ve tried.I’m also a sucker for the steak pie and mash which I love.Always a great selection on the menu with the addition of specials.The added bonus of stocking up the larder with superb quality meats and meals from the butchers next door

I tried the New York pastrami sandwich, which was very tasty, but very skimpy with the meat. Unbelievably fresh bread! So many choices on the menu, so I would like to return.

very disappointed ,i was meeting my son in Anlaby and suggested here the counter full of buns and pastries always look scrumptious...cannot say the same for the food served to us ,very poor on all counts

It was my first visit today and I was looking forward as I expected good things. Although my food, the Whisky barrel smoked bacon and Eggs Benedict was delicious, my friend struggled as the Gluten Free choice looked to have been removed from the menu. As she had been on numerous times previously, she asked a member of staff if this was now available on a separate menu only to be told that they don't do GF now as it wasn't making any money! She decided to order the lighter breakfast and only eat the items she could. I don't think it was the best day to visit as comments were made about a chef being off resulting in other patrons waiting for orders. The staff looked unhappy and tables were left uncleared. I expected so much more from what I considered to be a long established business.

Had their pies at a wedding. I'm still thinking about them! Just incredible!

Was once a loyal customer who enjoyed coming into your Deli Brian for both food and drink dining in. That all changed due to your miserable staff member. She always ends up serving me, even though I try to avoid her as I cannot tolerate the quality of service she delivers. She doesn’t greet or thank me for my custom, let alone look happy to serve. It’s a convenient for her to serve customers. It seems like she doesn’t enjoy working for you or her job. I don’t want to keep experiencing below standard of service. I would place her name down here but unfortunately every time I received a receipt from her there is a different name on it! Also, as much as I would like to complain to your face Brian, I get the feeling you dislike criticism and expect everyone to think highly of your business. I have already had this with you previously from being short changed twice and you didn’t deal with it professionally, yet I continued to visit. I’m done.

Really enjoyed our visit here! Staff was super friendly from the minute we walked in, really helpful and made conversation with us while paying attentiom to other customers. Had everythjng ready super fast and price was amazing for what we got! Sausage rolls were to die for.

Visited on 5th August Took 10 minutes for young lady to take the order (she kept making mistakes). When it arrived one meal had butter when we asked for non, the other meal was undercooked. The only toadt was dry at the edges and wet in the middle and as they had to remake one lunch it meant we ate seperately. When we were leaving i asked to make a complaint i waited several minutes for the chef to come to speak to me. He apologised for the errors and for the poor quality of the food but did not offer any recompense. He said he had no authority but he could write it all down and seek approval from his boss and told him not to bother but that i would be writing a negative review. Poor poor poor on all accounts, will not be going back.

Rang to book afternoon tea and told no need to book as it was a Monday, advised we had one vegetarian in our group which they said was fine. On arrival the menu clearly stated that vegetarian option was available for afternoon tea but when we ordered, we were told there was no alternative for pork pie/sausage rolls. There were various quiches etc on the menu but we were told all pastry was made with lard. In the end, the veggie option included tuna sandwiches and a bit of salad instead of pork pie. Really. Cake was also not vegetarian, nor was the jam served with the scones. Not acceptable, it should say 'vegetarian option NOT available' as clearly it isn't! Overall non veggie option not good either, shame as had heard good reports.

Called in here Saturday afternoon - 06/07/2019 for coffee with my wife and her sister, the downstairs was busy so we went upstairs to the lounge.

The best pork pies i have ever had. The meat is expensive but worth a try. The black bacon (cured in molasses i think) is amazing. But take you full wallet you will need it as so much on offer. I want to try it all.

Amazing pies, friendly and informative staff what more could you ask for?! Lucky enough to have the Fields Van at work during the week and also amazing food with down to earth staff.

Woah... Just got a Greek Lamb stir fry from them. I could smell it when I was frying it but it wasn't until i tasted it that I realised the meat was 'off'. £10's worth of food, straight down the toilet. Upon reflection when buying it, out of the 3 varieties of stir-fry's I could see on offer, it was the least popular due to the full containers on display....Word to the wise.... if you can't sell it, throw it away. Don't continue to present it and charge a premium price for it. Before you respond with whatever sales pitch you can muster to save face.....I know what bad meat tastes like. An apology will do just fine to remove the post.

After a brisk woodland walk we visited Frydays for our evening meal.

Excellent service. Good Quality meats. Everything you need from a butcher. Very friendly staff.
