Hidden Gem. Food and Service was Awesome. Very Friendly Staff, very Reasonably Priced, Very Well Presented Food. Well Worth a Visit.

It was good probably a 3.5 the staff and service were good and overall the food was quite nice. The bad things were drinks were warm and all curry’s were spicy there was no mild ones.

We are from neighbouring towns and didn’t quite know where to eat. So glad we found Masala. The staff were very friendly and the food was tasty and good. Couldn’t fault any of the dishes and I am very fussy how I like a garlic chilli chicken! The wine was a bonus too as it didn’t taste bad…Great for any occasion. All came out piping hot and fairly quickly.

We called into restaurant without a booking. They were busy but after 15 minutes managed to get us a table. The service was awful, we had to twice call over staff to order, unable to give us cutlery because it was in dish washer? Anyway the main course was really good, boy it was spicy so whereas I normally order hot the garlic chilli chicken was on cusp, chappattis fantastic, wife enjoyed her veg dansak. So it’s all about the food which was very good. Starters were ok, lamb a bit tough, kebab dry but that’s not uncommon.

Gorgeous food, great service, lovely atmosphere, would definitely recommend this restaurant if visiting Bridlington

My 2 friends and I went to Masala for our evening meal after seeing them rated #15 on Trip Advisor for restaurants in the Bridlington area. We had the restaurant to ourselves as business seemed slow, likely due to the miserable early September weather. The restaurant was averagely decorated, and somewhat understated with the restaurant being set lower than the road, however our experience was extremely positive. Our group hail from Bradford, where Indian takeaways are world renown. Comprised of 1 English man, 1 Indian gentleman, and 1 East African man; we have very varied tastes. We have visited several top restaurants in the area, but all 3 of us agree that Masala is amongst the best, if not #1. The food was amazing, it is the best restaurant curry we have experienced outside of our hometown, and easily beats most all of the other restaurants in the Bridlington area for taste and food quality. The Karahi that I had was recommended by one of the service staff, and it certainly did not fail to impress. My friends gave similar glowing reviews of their dishes, both of which I tasted and was equally as impressed by them; a Madras and a Bhuna (I think). The staff were very welcoming and helpful, especially Taabib. Thank you for a great evening meal.

This is a great restaurant. Really fresh well spiced food cooked with care. Would highly recommend the fish dishes. The service was so friendly and eager to please. The restaurant beautifully decorated and we were pleased we had made such a good choice.

Don't be fooled. Found this restaurant using TripAdvisor, sounded promising. Pulled up outside to be really disappointed by how it looks, very run down and dirty. Went in to ask about allergies and awareness as our son is coeliac, I was very impressed with their knowledge. So we took the plunge and ate here despite how it looks. We were not disappointed, the food was absolutely gorgeous!!! The best garlic naan I've ever had, loads of garlic!! The knowledge around gluten allergy and what our son could and couldn't have was great, gave us real confidence. So despite it's run down appearance which almost put us off going in, the food is authentic and really good!!

We use this restaurant every time we visit Bridlington and it never fails to impress with tasty food fantastic selections. The staff will always try to put a smile on your face with great service nothing is too much for them. Will be going again when back in the neighbourhood

Came in to silence and surprised not the usually enjoyable ambience of a little Sitar. Food clearly cooked much earlier - tikka type dishes very dry. Curries appeared very similar and although spicy lacked depth of flavour Breads were undercooked. King prawns were small. There were skips and rubbish outside. Little engagement from the staff. All in all not great. Rice was OK.

First time visiting Bridlington and so the first time we've been to this restaurant. We went early so we weren't surprised to be the only ones in the restaurant. The owners son showed us to our table and waited on us. He was really helpful and friendly. We were happy to chat. The food was incredible, definitely the best Indian food we've ever had. We would definitely recommend this place and if ever were this way again, we will return.

Excellent food and friendly service, lamb really good quality, much better than you usually get in this proce bracket. Sag Paneer very good too.

This is by far the worst Indian restaurant I have ever been to! The below bad review is correct and is a real review as I was one of the party. If the owner doesn’t like a review he clearly just states that they are lying. Trip Advisor is here to advise other members on their experiences and for this owner to try control that says more about his terrible food & service than it does about the reviewer. Avoid at all costs!

Visited for first time with friends. Staff very friendly and took time to talk through the menu of dishes we hadn't tried before. Service was prompt with pappadums and pickles and drinks served within a few minutes. We all chose different mains - mine was too hot and was swiftly taken away to be cooled down - whatever they did it worked!! We arrived early, around 6pm and be the time we left around 7.30pm the place was buzzing!! Don't be put off by the exterior - Masala is in the basement of an old Victorian Building, but inside it it lovely with wonderful staff. We will definitely be back soon

Where do I start here?! Passing and looking for somewhere to eat, we saw the restaurant located in a cellar and unfortunately I was out voted by my five friends to go. On arrival we were greeted in the bar area by the manager and advising us someone will be with us to take us through to the seating area shortly, a short time later the waiter arrived and showed us to our seats, to everyones surprise we were the only people there at that point. The waiter offered us some poppadoms and took our drinks orders. The poppadoms and drinks of cobra arrived and that’s as good as it got. Starters arrived, burnt, rock hard onion bhajis, flattened like space ships hard to imagine I know. Mixed Sizzler was also a choice served on a hot plate which looked and tasted like packet meat from the super market, the hot plate nearly burning the wife’s head as the waiter couldn’t be bothered to walk to the other side of the table, he stated ‘ I could do with some extendable arms’ we all just sat there shocked. We then were provided plates with the waiter saying nothing, I moved my plate as he placed it hanging off the table to nearly lose my finger tip, the plate was not warm but scolding hot. Main arrived ,Garlic Chilli Chicken, never have I been severed a curry with such small pieces of hard, dry meat. Onion rice as a side with burnt onion and dry rice most likely cooked a week prior to our visit, chips size of tooth picks and again warmed through most definitely. I was then put off eating, the waiter stood in the corner chopping on his finger nails and spitting them on the floor, picking his nose and eating it (Photos attached as the owner will deny) photos don’t lie SIR. At that point, I visited the toilet and found it to be a bathroom from the 1960’s with a damaged seat, urinals not flushing and a tap constant running. I attempted to escape the dump finding myself locked in as they was no handle on the back our the front of the door to enter / escape the gents. I returned and requested the bill three times before walking out to the bar to get this from the manager on bar. We then found the poppadoms charged at £20 for 15 and the curry charged incorrectly we made him aware and he changed. I’ve requested a copy of the bill for some strange reason he torn the VAT and registered business name of the bill. I would recommend one thing to resolve all this, SHUT THE PLACE DOWN.

What a find, down in a little cave like restaurant serving delicious food. Fresh and hot at an excellent price. The garlic nan is the best ever! We both thoroughly enjoyed all our courses.

Very disappointing meal. Was looking forward to dining here after reading reviews. Unfortunately, we (4 of us) all had lamb dishes and the meat was as tough as old boots, the service was erratic, to say the least, and the whole experience was underwhelming.

Food was lovely and there was a great atmosphere. This cosy restaurant is a must try for anyone who loves authentic Indian food in the Bridlington area!

We got a takeaway from here as we were staying in the area and fancied a curry. Don't be put off by the appearance of the building...the staff are friendly and the food was really good. We had four curries, breads, rice and sides and it was all delicious. The only thing I'd say was that we could have done with a little bit more chicken in the curries but that's just me being picky! Would definitely eat from here again if we are in the area.

I would definitely recommend going here. Staff were very friendly and took our order quickly. The curry I chose was absolutley delicious! Best curry I have had yet , vegetable korma. Lovely atmosphere and family friendly. Lollies and complimentary chocolates at the end. All very clean and delicious. 10/10 would definitley go again!

We didn’t book on very wet Saturday evening and the restaurant was very busy but they managed to fit us in. We came last year and was very impressed and tonight’s meal was just as good. The staff are brilliant here and great with kids our eight year old was loving being nickname lemon king by the manager 😂 Highly recommended

Don’t be put off by walking down the steps of the unassuming entrance…we had a great Sunday evening meal here. The staff were friendly and attentive and the food was really good. Had poppadoms and 5 dip pickle tray, but no starters. Chicken tikka main that came with masala sauce on the side with pilau rice, lamb biryani - tender meat, rice nicely spiced. The accompanying veg curry was good and potato heavy, which I like. Also had a side dish of the saag paneer which tasted a bit sweet but the flavours were balanced. Drinks were reasonably priced. Would definitely return if back in Bridlington

Not a Bridlington local but now here a lot more often having bought a static caravan. Masala is the 3rd Indian takeaway I’ve tried and so far the best. Undoubtedly my preference tends towards Punjabi/Kashmiri restaurants as that’s what was local to me growing up in Scotland . The vast majority of restaurants in the UK tend to be Bangladeshi as I’m presuming is Masala. That said I had tandoori lamb chop starter , they were well cooked and nice and tender and the chutney they came with was probably one of the nicest I’ve tasted. Personally I’d have liked them a bit spicier. For main course I had Keema Bhuna Madras, mushroom pilau and peshwari Nan. The Keema was lovely , spicing level was spot on as was the taste, rice and Nan were good. Will definitely be giving them another try and maybe go for some of their specials, the Jay Lamb looks interesting 👍

I had a super meal at Masala tonight. It was highly tasty and very quick and friendly service. The positive reviews are well deserved.

Starter completely inedible and the main was the same after a couple of tastes. Both they and half the naan went straight into the wheelie bin. The only enjoyable bit was the complimentary poppadoms and condiments. Waste of money and very disappointing.

Brilliant personalised service. Really friendly lovely food. We always have take away from here but don’t really get out with there being 8 of us. But this was such a nice change and definitely will be doing it again. They made our double birthday night...

Outstanding, we have been to a lot of Indian restaurants on our travels this is in my top 3.. the food was delicious and so tasty, portion sizes were fab, it was pure luck we found this gem of a place. Defo recommend 👌

After enjoying a couple of take aways from here, we had the chance to go for a sit down meal and were not dissapointed, wonderful food and friendly staff, lovely evening we will return on our next trip to Bridlington.
