Family 80th birthday. Food was more than expected and have to admit too many vegetables for me to finish my main which was the Sunday roast. Rest of party mainly had the fish and chips and one the curry option. All empty plates, apart from the two Sunday roasts. Same feedback from. The other person for that too. Enjoy your portions!

This place looked like it had good potential, however we weren't greeted by anyone as we walked in and wandered about looking for a table. The menu actually looked quite good, however we didn't stay to try it. There was a patron in the pub who either worked there or was very friendly with staff and two people sat at their table were smoking vapes. Inside. And sitting at the same table as a baby. Pretty sure it's illegal to use vapes inside, yet not one staff member addressed this. With a small child ourselves we weren't staying. How disappointing

Booked at table Saturday lunch. Table all set up when we arrive. Ordered from the food menu. Food was amazing. I had meat pie others had lasagna, curry, sandwiches, fish and chips. Chips were yummy. Drinks weren't the cheapest. friendly staff. very clean.

I ordered a ham salad sandwich. What I got was a manky piece of gammon what looked like a chicken colour with a strange taste, and a lump of fat which was about 3cm in diameter. The staff were lovely and offered me to get something else, but to be honest it put me right off. I was notboffered my money back.

The food was homemade and it was excellent I had the meat pie it was lovely the staff were helpful and friendly and I would highly recommend this place 10 out of 10

Sadly, no sugar free drinks. Coke zero would have been nice. Just had a rump steak sandwich. Full of gristle. No excuse. Chef should have seen it. Not to be repeated. My wife's prawn cocktail sandwich was mediocre.

Visited recently food nice. Old bald man behind the bar needs customer service training really rude with an attitude. Won’t be going back.

Went on a Sunday. Checked the menu online. Saw some nice sounding dishes, namely sandwiches, that I wanted to try. Got there and on a Sunday they have a limited menu with none of the stuff I wanted to try. Ordered beef. Not a good idea. Tough and chewy. Service was fine and atmosphere was nice. Shame about the menu and food.

Food was excellent fresh vegetables, homemade meaty pie with loads of filling and a nice pint of beer. Great staff friendly and helpful, Altogether a NICE‼️place to go.

Called today at about 5.30, I had steak pie and my wife had scampi. The food was on the table in minutes, and the portions were massive. The steak pie was rammed with lovely tender steak, loads of veg and triple fried chips, all spot on and piping hot. Would definitely recommend. Good choice beers, and polite and friendly staff.

10 of us were staying at nearby Raywell Country Park for a weekend and visited The Duke of Cumberland for Sunday dinner. It did not disappoint. Both the lamb and the beef dinners were enjoyed by all who had them. I had the beef dinner and the meat was delicious. It was surprising how much came on the plate as some things were hidden under others, plenty of vegetables all cooked to my liking including broccoli, cabbage, cauliflower, green beans. It also came with roasties and mash but they'd not put roasties on my plate which was very easily and quickly sorted. 3 had the steak pie and chips and they all enjoyed their meals. Every mouthfull of food was hot so massive thumbs up from me as I can't eat lukewarm food. Plenty of gravy on the plate aswell so it didn't dry up but food wasn't swimming in it. We have all said if we were back in the area we'd visit The Duke again. I will apologise that no tip was left but by the time we were leaving the table we hadn't seen any waiting on staff around us so wondered if it was an early finish on a Sunday? Compliments to everybody will have to be the reward for now.

Everyone else's food was great I ordered the roast of the day gammon, I was rather hungry & ready for my meal, food arrived & gammon is meant to be on the pinkish side mine was more grayish, I asked waitress if it was OK, she took my plate back to chef who told the waitress it was not pink as its kept warm in water & that's why it was not pink, all the chef did was take the grey meat off... hence I didn't eat the meat as didn't want an iffy tummy the next day, I've had plenty of meals there before & not a problem, but if I was to eat there again & there was only the gammon on the roast menu I would choose something different, just a shame as the rest was all OK,

Came for a bite to eat before a Rod Stewart show in the civic hall next door. The place was very busy & we ordered fish & chips & a hot steak & onion ciabatta. Despite being extremely busy the food came out pretty quick & it didn’t disappoint. Great atmosphere & good portions & prices. Well worth a visit

Can only comment an honest review of our local bar & restaurant, bar staff ..manager..landlady 110% , having been in the pub trade in a previous life the keg & cask ales are constantly on top form , highly recommend anybody from the village & all surrounding areas to come through the door to experience the best atmosphere & smiles / laughter you'll experience within the Hu16/Hu17 area x

Had a great meal here today with my Wife and Mother in Law. Three light bites and three drinks less than £37 Service was great, we even got to choose our vegetables. It’s been decades since I visited, it will not be decades until my next visit.

Great coffee, amazing food. Got a vegan curry, one of the nicest ive ever had. Very clean, quick service and very lovely staff. Its a shame i dont live here or else id be a regular! Got 2 coffees for £6 and 2 main meals for about £23 together. Worth the price 100%

The Christmas decor had a lot of time spent on it so nice to see however the v loud guy at the bar that everyone had to listen to spoilt it. He was vaping at the bar too, bit inconsiderate.

Absolutely terrible the bar staff especially the chap with the beard was more interested in watching the tv instead of serving the customers and the food was terrible just microwaved terrible food

Staff are absolutely shocking.. ordered a vodka coke. As the staff member turned his back he said Pepsi, without giving us a choice or asking. He refused to fill my tiny glass up with more Pepsi because of the ‘pubs costs’ and he would charge us for more Pepsi. Overall the interactions we encountered was rude.

The Duke of Cumberland in Cott is a great pub, and I had the pleasure of running into an old friend here. The beer selection was decent, and the warm and friendly atmosphere made it even better. The pub's appearance also added to the overall positive experience.

Call I.this pub most weeks. I meet up with a small group of friends. Last Wednesday evening we had our Christmas dinner get-together here. It was excellent food and service, plus great value for money. £25 per head for three courses. Christmas menu. Could not fault the food. Huge portions. I elected for the homemade soup ( delicious ) with. Soft roll. For mains, I had salmon with fresh vegetables and a tarragon white sauce. Christmas pudding but many went for the cheesecake. The decor in the pub is amazing with fabulous Christmas trees and decorations everywhere. Highly recommend.

Great old pub in the centre of Cottingham. Good food at reasonable prices. Good prices and friendly staff. Dog friendly. Nice outdoor area with a BBQ on special days, also great for families.

Highly recommend this pub for food. We use this pub for a family lunch a couple of times a month, usually greeted by Stan. Wayne the chef is a brilliant chef and we always enjoy the food that he produces. Deb is fantastic and goes out of her way to make sure we have everything we need. My uncle has a brain disability and she goes out of her way to reassure him and make him feel comfortable. Brilliantly run, Local pub.

Speedy drinks service with lovely attentive staff. Ordered food for 2 adults and our 2 year old son. Great pricing, especially for the big portion sizes. We all loved the food and will definitely be returning regularly. Fantastic atmosphere and so cosy with the log burner.

Great atmosphere that was it, waited over 50 minutes for a roast on a Sunday, paxo stuffing, piping hot veggies (clearly been microwaved) and took over 50 minutes, the meat was like rubber would not recommend at all ! Also asked for lamb got beef !

This was our first visit and first impressions were good.Food and drinks order taken quickly.Food menu is pretty standard for this type of establishment but it seemed highly priced.When our food came it looked appetising and the steak pie was stuffed with meat,good start.Alas the vegetables were only shown the hot water for a few seconds.Now I know everybody says veg should be crunchy but some cooking is required.For us the meal was let down by the uneatable veg.On informing the lady who cleared our table she basically told me “that’s how the chef does it so hard luck”.What happened to customer satisfaction?For the undercooked vegetables and the poor attitude of that member of staff you get a 3 when with just a smidgen of care you would have got 5,☹️☹️☹️

Dirty glasses, covered in lipstick, given same drink just poored into another glass. Given ice when not even asked in another drink. Staff were lovely though. Chap that served us was new to be fair. Will visit again. 😊

We’ve been for dinner and always enjoyed the food, but either they’ve now got a new chef or he’s forgotten how to cook! I ordered a curry and tbh sundered how it could have been called ‘a curry’. The chicken was over cooked and dry. The onions were crispy as if they’d been thrown in as an after thought at the end. There was also bits of bacon which seemed so out of place? The gammon my husband ordered was extremely fatty and the chips looked and tasted as if they’d been left over chips from yesterday that had been fried again today. They were dry and burnt. Considering it cost over £40 with one drink each, it was a disappointment. Enough to put you off returning.

Was going to give a negative review only problem went a few weeks ago was really nice but today was awful chips was like scraps salad was very dry cheap condiments steak pie was poor. Sadly the problem with pub food it’s so hit and miss

Are here with 4 friends last night, we all ordered the same, steak pie. One of the best pub meals we have had. The pie was full of meat & the pastry was lovely & soft, the chips are also very tasty.we will return

I really wanted to go to try one of King Billy's Pizzas from its new menu. But was settled. I cheekily asked if I could have one delivered and to my surprize was told no problem - Which one would you like? Around 20 minutes a later arrived what I can describe as the best Pepperoni pizza I have eaten. Well done to both teams for delivering such great service & quality.

Very popular pub in Cottingham, usually pop in here when we visit this area. Well worth calling in for food & a beer! We didn’t eat on this occasion but from previous visits I can say the meals are very nice!
