Both curries arrived watery and bland with no flavour, garlic naan had very little garlic on. Won’t be ordering again.

It was expensive. We felt totally rushed to finish and get out even though it was only 6.30pm on a Sunday and they wasn't busy.

Love this place! Great food and a great atmosphere. The staff are lovely as well!

Had a takeaway as we are new to the area. We had a rogan josh and a bhuna and they were completely lacking in flavour unfortunately. Delivery was very timely.

A place to visit when in Cott. Staff very helpful, food very tasty and prices are ok on the wallet.House red nice at the price (£19). They even provided extra salad plates for a shared starter, first time ever.

Visited this evening. Beautiful food, service efficient and beautiful warm friendly staff. Definitely visit again.

Came here recently, asked for a king prawn Madras, which should be a rather hot thick curry sauce, I ended up with a very watery mild tasteless gravy with 4 prawns. The bottle of chardonnay wine was £22 which we could have picked up from Aldi for a £5. Was frowned upon for not ordering a starter or popadoms and dips as were not big eaters. Think that night we went the chef had a night off and the cleaner must have taken his place. From the slop bucket.

Went for a meal last night here. The plates where nice and hot. The food was delicious. Service was very good and the food was on our table very quickly. Also filled the drinks all the way to the top. 2 free chocolates at the end. What more do you want. Would recommend it here and would definitely return 👍

I have had 2 takeaway now and each time have been told collection times 40 mins , delivery an hour to find I am waiting an hour. They are very busy but should be truthful about the wait for collection.

Saturday evening in January. We had booked but they didn't check. The main course arrived 1hr40 mins after we arrived. The restaurant itself was packed with a nice buzz about it but when the food did arrive it lacked flavour. It seemed very popular but maybe because it's the only curry house in Cottingham. The prices were ok. I won't be going back.

Booked for 6 people on 20.1.24 at 7. We arrived on time and then shown our table. We couldn't even sit in two rows of 3, one had to sit on the end of our table. This we were told because of another table of 8. Very poor start. So we ordered some beer and 2 bottles of wine. They hadn't got our choice of wine, so we picked a different one. Only to be told they only had one... Really. What's going on. Ordered our food eventually, after they took table of 8 orders, even though they arrived after us. Food was very late in coming, excuse was, very busy. Well sherlock Holmes it was a Saturday night. Be prepared. It just seemed total chaos. The foods good, not brilliant. The service is rubbish to say the least. I won't be returning.

Had looked on google and looked at menu decided to go for set menu for two price differed on menu in restraunt £8 more, wine was more expensive too. Food was poor chicken tikka masala very poor uneatable that left lamb dopiaza was just ok, veg curry no taste. Ate little but nobody asked if everything was ok. Paid and left £50 for poor Indian, have been before and was always good, what has happened and please change prices on line!! Did not complain at time, I would have done but my husband is not a complainer just won’t go again😜🥵

Had a cheeky post NYE catch up with a friend and decided to head to Alishaans. We hadn't been for 10+ years, but we were not disappointed! Great food, good service, nice decor, fair value! The Chicken Chat starter gets a special shout out, it's my go to starter no matter what Indian I order, but this one trumps all others! I will deffo be returning soon, keep up the great standards!

Easy to order online. Today 1/1/24 Food delivered time I wanted it. Food hot and loads of meat in our dishes would have fed 3 of us not 2. Food was so flavourful Tandoori mixed grill. Asked for my sauce to be madras hot wow it certainly was Free poppordoms was a nice touch. Friendly staff Would highly recommend

Very nice food. Tender and well spiced. Customised our order. Was very quiet for a week day. Would recommend if you like a good curry. Food came out quick and hot. Was in and out with the hour for a relaxed meal.

We hebben hier samen met onze zoon en schoondochter gegeten. We werden erg vriendelijk ontvangen en werden naar de tafel gebracht. Ieder heeft zo zijn (hierarische) taak. Ze kwamen snel met de kaart en we kregen er goede uitleg bij. Het eten was heerlijk gekruid vers en goed bereid. Het hoofdgerecht was allemaal genoeg. Een dessert was niet meer nodig. Ik heb één tip: wanneer het interieur aan vervanging toe is, dan iets grotere tafels aanschaffen. Deze tafels zijn erg krap voor 4 personen en alles wat op tafel komt.

The "medium" lamb curry was merely fruity and not well cooked

Ordered delivery. It took two hours to arrive and when it did it was... just not very good food. In particular the flavours were poor. There are other, better options in the area.

Best Indian in East Yorkshire - that’s the question You would need to put Alishans in the debate for the longevity of the restaurant and the consistent high quality of the food service and menu We have a group that visits a Indian every month and Alishans is always talked about as always being in the groups top three I suppose you need to try it out to see for your self - one things for sure - you won’t be disappointed Top in East Yorkshire - let’s have the debate

Perfect in every respect. A very wide range of dishes and for the second time I chose the vegetable Chandari, which I've never seen in any other Indian restaurant in our area. Absolutely delicious!

The most awful food I ever had with lots of red food colouring, which is already prohibited in UK. Even the chana dhal was red, vegetable curry was red, prawn curry was red!! It didn't taste Indian at all, it didn't have any taste at all and there was no hint of any Indian spices in the food, not even turmeric was used in the preparation of bindi bhaji. The paneer we had was so hard and over fried, chicken was and so on. There should be some rules prohibitting the sale of such third rate food in the name of Indian food. So sorry for the people who dine here thinking they are having good Indian food.

First time we have been back in 2 years. Used to almost live in this place, it was our favourite go to. New owners, very strange. Although food tasted nice we have been violently unwell within a few hours of leaving this place. Avoid at all cost a huge waste of £60!!!!!!

Sorry to say but the food quality has declined over the years and also have a tendency to miss parts of your food order when delivered,which is most annoying especially as it may go with another part of your order so no they definitely are not as good as they used to be shame !

Terrible Indian food with no pride taken. Onion bahji was stodgy and probably from frozen. Nan bread was awful (I spat it out), chapati was poor. Ordered 3 curries via takeaway and they were all below average, clearly from the same base.

We ordered from this takeaway and they were able to travel with our order which was amazing! We could not fault the food, we had a chicken korma and a lamb rogan josh and the meat melted in our mouths it was amazing!! Would highly recommend to anybody in the area! Best Indian we have had in ages. Thank you!

Beautiful italian restaurant, the spring rolls were amazing and the hoisin duck was a little overcooked but other wise amazing. They did play some slightly annoying japanese music in the back but otherwise, it was a very pleasant experience!! Would much recommend!!

Lovely food but I'd recommend taking it away as the restaurant is very cramped with tables way to close together.

Ridiculously expensive takeaway now. WARNING it’s 95p a popadom and over £10 a main course. Very hit and miss on quality depending on the chef. Raised prices massively to subsidise just eat and and Uber eats. It’s a joke.

Worse restaurant ever. Waited 45 mins to get drinks and when we asked where they where we got a rude reply. We then ordered 14 pompadoms for our table of 11 and 40 arrived. We waited 2 hours for food and when we finally got our plates they were dirty and we said to the waiter they were dirty and he said okay and walked away and was very unhelpful. My curry tasted bland and the rice didn’t taste it much either and the naan bread was super greasy. The staff was rude and the owner was clueless which I really felt for him. I don’t usually leave bad reviews but I was so disappointed from start to end.

Alishaan was our best indian restaurant. We was looking forward for our night out. But last night we was disappointed. The food was tasteless and cold. The place itself was very noisy. We paid for expensive meal we didn't enjoy it spoilt our night out.

Had a take out tonight, got it home was still hot ,I get the same dish every time, eat in or take out a rogan gosh which really like,but this one tonight was very taste less, the best thing was the garlic nam bread, will try again but if no improvement will be lucking for some where else to get my Indian food from.

Food was very late and cold plus items missing, was told they’d send replacement out which they did but it was a dish that was only a. Starter and £10 cheaper than what we’d actually ordered. Curry was watery also

We have been after a new Indian Takeaway for years after our last one closed. Never fancied trying anyone else, then tonight we fancied a balti but hubby didn't want to cook. So after 30 mins of reading various reviews, we settled on Alishaan. Ordered two chicken balti's, pilau rice, nans, onion bhaji's, popadoms and the pickle tray, (the usual expected accompaniments). It was delivered piping hot, no complaints what's so ever, delivery was earlier than stated and the food was absolutely scrummy although we did leave a bit (generous portions). Looks like we have our new takeaway 10 out of 10 for us.

Lovely place to collect a order from or dine in as done both a couple of times each now, top quality food at reasonable prices great staff quick turn around your not left waiting in between courses but then at the same time you don't feel rushed great place

Been a few times now and found friendly staff and good food.

1 Star, or less for tonight. Previously and for nearly 20 years this has been an awesome restaurant, unfortunately tonight was beyond disappointing. Our Rogan Josh sauces were not only tasteless, they were actually watery. With a curry the sauce is so important. Sorry Alishan, I don't want to risk this occurring again. I will be trying elsewhere next time.

I went here with 2 friends on a Thursday evening to celebrate my birthday. We had a lovely evening and the food and service was OK but we had a few issues which they didn't compensate us for at all. They only had one bottle of the rose cider (which I didn't want in the first place but was talked into trying it as it was the only one they had cold and I liked it!) And my friend ordered the lamb curry but got a duck curry! she didn't want to change it as the food all came together. We ordered 2 poppadoms and they brought 6! We would still go back there though but just make sure we get what we ordered!

What a lovely place this is, we enjoyed everything about it. The staff are very attentive, nothing is to much trouble. I suppose the main event is the food, and that again was truly lovely. We will be returning very soon,. Thank you Alishaan, you made us very happy 😊

Hadn't had Indian food for ages and someone then highly recommended this place. Went early evening on a Thursday. Good choice on menu and excellent service by friendly waiter. Had king prawn puree - good idea to have the puree on the side then not at all soggy - followed by curry with duck. Lots of lean and tender meat in the curry. Peshwari naan was nice and light. Overall good value and will be going back.

Delivered within the time specified but it was cold, dry and limp. Not even a tandoori sauce came with the tandoori dishes ordered. Ordered a garlic naan but got a plain naan and the garlic mushrooms were the worst I've ever tasted. Won't be using again.

We ordered a delivery. It arrived piping hot and a few minutes early. Food was amazing - lamb madras, chicken jalfrezi, tandoori king prawns - all were really good. We’ll definitely order again. Highly recommend it.

I ordered tonight and I'm wary about ordering Indian meals from other takeaways as there is one across from where I live with is gorgeous but I've got to admit tonight's meal blew it out the water it was gorgeous, we had chicken korma and chicken rogan josh,definitely recommend

We ordered a family takeaway for New Years Eve which was extremely disappointing. Firstly our order was wrong as we had a portion of rice missing! (this is not the first time this has happened) Secondly the food was cold and the chicken did not taste of the best quality. We have had takeaways from here in the past and we feel the service and quality has diminished. We will not be ordering from here again.

Ordered from here twice, first time everything was fine apart from the naan breads badly burnt, but everything else was nice so it wasn't a massive issue. Ordered the 2nd time, food had leaked all over the bag, food was cold and burnt naan bread again! I wasn't going to complain as they are minor issues although disappointing. We sat down to eat, few forkfuls in and my husband discovers a big piece of what looks like mortar from a brick wall in his food! I rang up and explained, they told me they would send me a free meal next time I order, I said no this full food has gone to waste because I am not going to carry on eating after finding that! Then they said they will send 2 free meals next time! I told them I would like a refund, which they agreed but he was rushing to get me off the phone, not even an apology! I never received a refund so I called a week later to ask about it, I was told I was speaking to the manager but as soon as I mentioned why I was calling he told me ring back tomorrow after 12 because that's when the boss will be in. I rang back the next day and multiple times since and no answer. I have left a negative review on Just Eat to which they have replied to accusing me of lying to get a refund! Extremely poor customer service! My order came to £18, do you really think I would go through all this effort for an £18 refund? My first order came to more than that, if I was doing it just to get free food would it not of made more sense for me to do it for the first order? I was happy with the first order other than the naan bread been burnt
