Akash Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

Extremely slow service for the meal, 2 1/2 hours, for starters and mains. Food bland, keema Nan looked disgusting. We were a group of 12, but we had booked and paid a deposit, so they knew we were coming. Waitress was very pleasant, but she was on her own. Takeaways must take priority over people in the restaurant. It was also noted, groups of 4 came arrived and had starters and mains, and departed before we had our mains.

We came here with friends for a relaxed catch up and good food. We got both! Having booked our table, we only had a short wait on arrival before we were seated and looking at the menu. Very relaxed, we ordered drinks, and popadoms and pickle tray to start with followed by a selection of chicken, lamb and mixed meat dishes, accompanied with rice and naan breads. The service was excellent, with the staff polite and chatty throughout the evening. Well worth visiting if you haven't been yet, or a re-visit if not been for a while!

11th October 2024 Just visited the Hull Fair, and arrived back in Beverley bus station at approx 6pm. Thought I would treat myself and try an Akash take-away again, to take home. What can I say ... the food quality just gets better and better. The restaurant was busy with table clients and people waiting for take-away pickups, which speaks for itself. A hidden gem of a restaurant, with a welcoming atmosphere. I would never trust a service provider to deliver my order. That's why always go personally and order first-hand, knowing my food is hot and fresh ... and again, I was not disappointed!

Takeaway order took nearly 3 hours to arrive and was cold. Ordered at 6.20pm, said 45 minute delivery time, finally arrived just before 9pm! Rang restaurant a number of times and just told it was on the way. Told the manager would call me back but still waiting for that. Will not use again

I have never received my order. The app is telling me it was delivered at 20.20, it is now 22.10 and I have still not received my order. I have phoned the restaurant 3 times and they told me that my order has been prepared but they were waiting on a driver. They told me to cancel through the just eat app which I am unable to do as I cannot find a way to do it, very frustrating. How do I cancel and receive a refund, please help!!!

Absolutely rubbish service. Just eat is a f,,, ING joke. 10 calls no answer. Never again. Holly was great bless her.

Placed order at 19.40pm for delivery, quoted a delivery time of 21.05pm to 21.25pm. Order eventually turned up at 22.10pm. Both curry main courses were virtually cold

Holly was wonderful and handled our large group well. She’s a credit to the restaurant. Food was good.

Lovely atmosphere. Friendly, engaging front of house staff without being intrusive. Prompt service, no long waits. All the food was fantastic, generous portions and reasonably priced. We had a great evening, well looked after, and will definitely return. A warm welcome and departure chat with the wonderful lady front of house. Highly recommended.

6th September 2024 - I was ready for a take-away this evening, and thought I would give Akash a try. I purposely went to the restaurant to make the order, so I could enjoy a sit-down prawn cocktail whilst I waited for my order. The prawn cocktail was second-to-none "excellent", and the take-away was first class. I had a chicken vindaloo with saag aloo side dish, vegetable Pilau rice, and a garlic naan. Absolutely fantastic food, really enjoyed it! I highly recommend a visit here.

Sent a dried up blackened bitter dish back but was told that's how it was supposed to be! Only eaten it in about a hundred other Indian restaurants but never as bad as that. Owner wouldn't take it off the bill.

Takeaway. Excellent for vegans, no cross-contamination. Fabulous! Food delicious. Service 10 out of 10. Definitely recommend if you are vegetarian or vegan!

The good was gorgeous! Everything still piping hot. The lamb tikka masala was so tender flavours were perfect! Really well priced for the quality!

after stating the order was out for delivery , we requested a update as it was late and the order suddenly had a 35 minute delay. quite clearly they had had a issue and simply delivered it after warming it up . chips inedible, nan bread was soggy in the middle edges rock hard. used Akash often. very very disappointed to have to wait and be subjected to a very poor service and awful food.

We dined here on Saturday night. The waitress was extremely helpful, polite and made the experience amazing. The food was 10/10, absolutely delicious!!

This was a " spur of the moment" decision drawn in by the aroma during an early evening stroll around an empty Beverley town centre after a first visit to the lovely Beverley racecourse... Get to the point, as my wife would say, Service...excellent, front of house lady and waitress first class. Took the recommendation from waitress of Chicken Jheera ? Not disappointed. Quality of chicken and sauce great Nan and rice also hit the spot. Good atmosphere, ( it was a quiet Tues evening) but full marks for aan unexpected and thoroughly enjoyable meal. One wee note, my wife reported toilet could do with a bit of TLC..

My husband and I went to The Akash for a wedding anniversary meal. Holly served us and was friendly throughout our visit. She was very knowledgeable about the dishes and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent. We enjoyed the pickle tray so much we even took some home with us. For delicious food and agreat atmosphere we highly recommend eating here.

Really not a good Indian. Thought we’d try somewhere new but alishaan in cottingjam is so much better. The food just tasted artificial. Such a shame!

Puri was cold, only 2 very small pieces of prawn, onion bajis were charred black burnt, un-eatable. Curry was ok.

Gorgeous food and piping hot when delivered. 10/10!

Had a takeaway order, ordered a vegetable dhansak curry however once dished up at home starting to eat it we found a large piece of chicken. The pieces of potatoes in the curry were all black. Being a vegetarian and ordering vegetable curry for that reason I didn't expect to find a chicken in the curry.

Absolute shocker. 6 of us went for sit in meal last night, waited an hour and a half and food still wasn't served. The place wasn't even busy! We had to leave without eating. It felt they prioritised takeaway. Would not recommend. To anyone. Ever! Ruined our evening

Food was good, went in to collect and was waiting 30 minutes over the pick up time. When ordered it went through and within minutes the time was pushed back by 30 minutes too

Food was delivered more than an hour late. The rice was lukewarm and the curry wasn't much warmer. Not a great first impression and certainly not value for money.

We dined at Akash on Saturday night and what a pleasant experience we had. When we arrived we was told there was a wait on food but our starters came out swiftly and the mains not long after. The food was absolutely delicious! The flavours in the curries were spot on, all 4 of us thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The service was fantastic, the staff worked very hard given how busy it was. The only thing was there was a big table which we overheard complaining to the young lady who was on the bar, they were very loud, but we couldn’t fault the lady, she handled them very well and apologised to us even though there was nothing to apologise for! Service was 10/10, delicious food we will definitely be returning.

Food and service was amazing! Sat down quickly by the lady on the bar, and served us poppadoms & drinks, swiftly. Our food was brought out to us not much later, and was absolutely amazing without any doubt. So much depth of flavour. Chicken was so tender and juicy. I had the keema rice, which was a nice addition along with the cheese and garlic naan, which was definitely the best I've ever had. Will definitely be back and 100% recommend anyone to come to this hidden gem 🙏👏

Called in on spec with a fellow veteran whilst it was late and quiet the restaurant staff made us very welcome..... The food was good, very tasty and just enough 😋 thank you all 🙂

One of my absolute favourite Indian Restaurants. Holly is amazing and the food is sooo good. When we're lazy and don't feel like going out we order home delivery and it's just as awesome. Totally recommend

Bad customer service. Rang to say missed main part of meal. The tandoori chicken. Had the sauce nann bread rice chips. Rang to say they said they’d send chicken out I said everything else is going be cold by time get it. And 25 mins later arrived. And yes everything else was cold. No offer or refund. Very disappointed

We contacted the restaurant twice. We were assured that the meal would be with us by 9:20 pm. This was after having ordered it at 7:20 pm. It eventually arrived at 9:45 pm. It was cold, so very disappointing. The whole experience has been nightmarish. We just wanted a nice meal and ended up with a whole lot of stress, and a totally spoilt evening!

Food was alright and reasonably warm, but delivery was 2 hours after order. I don't want to put hard working businesses down, but more clarity or honesty regarding delivery times would be better.

This is one of my favourite local takeaways. Every dish that I’ve tried has been delicious and full of flavour. I would highly recommend giving them a try!

Usually a lovely takeaway but on this occasion it came late and the passanda sauce tasted "off" spoilt the whole meal.

Have been ordering from lady gate for over 15 yrs but recently had huge problems they were not interested in resolving. Only tried akash twice and fab tasting food delivered early to Walkington both times. Thankyou we’ll be ordering again

Having ordered month ago and had an indifferent experience. Thought I’d try again and was pleasantly surprised. Food arrived hot and ahead of scheduled time a lot.

As a restaurant we used to use monthly for many years and haven’t had the chance for a couple of years I suggested to the wife we have a takeaway but I wanted it from my old favourite restaurant. Well how wrong was I to do so! This is far from the old restaurant I once loved. The curry is watery and lacking substance, the onion Bhaji was ok but the side salad if you can call it that was a littlebit of pond weed and a slice of lemon. The naan bread was just a flat crispy pizza crust. All out waste of money and a great shame that this place has fallen so far!

Disappointing service. Order was 25 mins late when we pre-ordered an hour before opening time. AGAIN no poppadoms so had to wait another 40 mins for them to arrive. 4th time that’s happened in 6 or 8 orders!

Ordered came over an hour late, which was then missing 3 lots of rice. Rang to make them aware and was then waiting a further 40 minutes for the rice to turn up, which by this time the other food was cold.

Amazing good and atmosphere on a happy Saturday night. Hasna is honestly the crowning glory of the evening. She is kind, funny, and provides amazing service with a genuine smile. I’ll be back for the food for sure, but her service sealed the deal.

Just had a fabulous meal. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and Hasna was the best host - genuinely made us feel so welcome and looked after. She is the star of the restaurant.

We never received our food, when i rang the restaurant up to ask for an update they said it was delivered 1hour before the phone call. That would have still been 30 mins before the estimated time. The driver said he gave it to a young man outside my house but i never received anything. I have asked for a refund but there is no option on this app to request one so i am over £20 down for nothing.

Food was good as always but we had a mix up with the items, korma sent instead of tikka massala and plain naan sent instead of keema naan

Between being told it was on its way and arriving it took 1 hour. Food came piping hot, this was after raising concerns via the app. So the food probably wasn’t sent when the app said it was in transit. Apologised which was good. But 2+hours between ordering and arriving is silly. If they can’t do it then make themselves unavailable for that period, don’t let people order.

Tasty, well presented but spicy hot food just very slow service

The chicken tikka tasted horrible and the chicken tasted like you were chewing on greseal and the sauce was lumpy and tasted awful.it’s The worst chicken tikka I have had ever. I would like a refund

My food took 2 hours to come . And when it did come, it was cold, and missing bits of my order had to wait 40 minutes more to get the rest of my order . . . . No good at all

Thr food was terrible I ordered chef special which was full of lemon and potato and nothing else! It was a lemon and potato curry. Never again.

Delivery driver was unable to find address that has been on google/iPhone maps for 5+years. Delivery driver called and still unable to find address even though was at top of road. Food was delivered cold and ruined the evening. Was promised call back from manager last night this is yet to happen.

From order to delivery it was 1.45hrs! Also app said it was delivered at 1 hr after when it wasn’t and then called restaurant to find out where it was and was told it was out with driver, phoned back 20mins later when still hadn’t arrived (I live 5 mins from restaurant) and still didn’t arrive till 30 mins later. Food was not piping hot and mediocre, definitely won’t be ordering from here again or through just eat as when asked about any kind of compensation was refused out right and told I’d have to go through the just eat app. Appalling all round really

This is a lovely restaurant with a very pleasant and knowledgeable head waiter. she is great with us and our family. The food is so good the draught lager i loved. Good pricing and dish recommendations were perfect.

Ordered from here consistently over 4 years, most recently been extremely let down by the quality of food, delivery times & missing things off my order.

Must have been the best curry I've ever tasted, I got a Korma and a Bhuna to take away, the staff was very friendly and it's clear that the chef is passionate about giving his customers the best food he can make! I highly reccomend this place, I came all the way from nottingham to give it a try and I was not disappointed. I also highly reccomend the garlic bread, will drive all the way back for more as soon as I get the chance.

Still no food after 2 and half hours

Ordered at 18:33 and arrived at 21:08. And how dare I question it to the driver !!! He was actually put out by me saying how long it took ! A record wait for me with this one.
