Akash Restaurant in East Riding of Yorkshire

We contacted the restaurant twice. We were assured that the meal would be with us by 9:20 pm. This was after having ordered it at 7:20 pm. It eventually arrived at 9:45 pm. It was cold, so very disappointing. The whole experience has been nightmarish. We just wanted a nice meal and ended up with a whole lot of stress, and a totally spoilt evening!

Food was absolutely delicious. Will definitely order again.

Food was alright and reasonably warm, but delivery was 2 hours after order. I don't want to put hard working businesses down, but more clarity or honesty regarding delivery times would be better.

This is one of my favourite local takeaways. Every dish that I’ve tried has been delicious and full of flavour. I would highly recommend giving them a try!

Lovely polite staff, very clean, food was really nice and prices very reasonable, there is stairs to get up to reach the restaurant, recommend if your in the area.

Usually a lovely takeaway but on this occasion it came late and the passanda sauce tasted "off" spoilt the whole meal.

The service is very friendly and the food was gorgeous! We enjoyed everything and will only order from here from now on

Food was fine but we ordered poppadoms and pickles. Got the pickles but no Poppadoms. Disappointing.

Poor delivery timings, and I’m afraid the food was only just warm when it arrived. A shame, I usually enjoy the restaurant food. I won’t be ordering again

Have been ordering from lady gate for over 15 yrs but recently had huge problems they were not interested in resolving. Only tried akash twice and fab tasting food delivered early to Walkington both times. Thankyou we’ll be ordering again

Having ordered month ago and had an indifferent experience. Thought I’d try again and was pleasantly surprised. Food arrived hot and ahead of scheduled time a lot.

Disappointing service. Order was 25 mins late when we pre-ordered an hour before opening time. AGAIN no poppadoms so had to wait another 40 mins for them to arrive. 4th time that’s happened in 6 or 8 orders!

As a restaurant we used to use monthly for many years and haven’t had the chance for a couple of years I suggested to the wife we have a takeaway but I wanted it from my old favourite restaurant. Well how wrong was I to do so! This is far from the old restaurant I once loved. The curry is watery and lacking substance, the onion Bhaji was ok but the side salad if you can call it that was a littlebit of pond weed and a slice of lemon. The naan bread was just a flat crispy pizza crust. All out waste of money and a great shame that this place has fallen so far!

Ordered came over an hour late, which was then missing 3 lots of rice. Rang to make them aware and was then waiting a further 40 minutes for the rice to turn up, which by this time the other food was cold.

Missed part of the order from the delivery, I phoned up but they delivered the missing bit an hour later when we had finished the meal.

Amazing good and atmosphere on a happy Saturday night. Hasna is honestly the crowning glory of the evening. She is kind, funny, and provides amazing service with a genuine smile. I’ll be back for the food for sure, but her service sealed the deal.

Just had a fabulous meal. Delicious food, lovely atmosphere and Hasna was the best host - genuinely made us feel so welcome and looked after. She is the star of the restaurant.

We never received our food, when i rang the restaurant up to ask for an update they said it was delivered 1hour before the phone call. That would have still been 30 mins before the estimated time. The driver said he gave it to a young man outside my house but i never received anything. I have asked for a refund but there is no option on this app to request one so i am over £20 down for nothing.

Food was good as always but we had a mix up with the items, korma sent instead of tikka massala and plain naan sent instead of keema naan

Between being told it was on its way and arriving it took 1 hour. Food came piping hot, this was after raising concerns via the app. So the food probably wasn’t sent when the app said it was in transit. Apologised which was good. But 2+hours between ordering and arriving is silly. If they can’t do it then make themselves unavailable for that period, don’t let people order.

Tasty, well presented but spicy hot food just very slow service

My food took 2 hours to come . And when it did come, it was cold, and missing bits of my order had to wait 40 minutes more to get the rest of my order . . . . No good at all

The chicken tikka tasted horrible and the chicken tasted like you were chewing on greseal and the sauce was lumpy and tasted awful.it’s The worst chicken tikka I have had ever. I would like a refund

Thr food was terrible I ordered chef special which was full of lemon and potato and nothing else! It was a lemon and potato curry. Never again.

Food is great but always really late with delivery. Preordered the food and still too more than an hour and a half to arrive.

Ordered at 19.35 food arrived at 21.15, it was cold and unappetising. Second time this has happened and I've only used the place twice, very disappointing.

always a pleasure in akash. go often with family and the food never disappoints, always delicious and always lovely to see the same friendly staff especially the 2 ladies on front of house/bar. they will look always after you, very attentive and sweet. thank you guys ♥️

Delivery driver was unable to find address that has been on google/iPhone maps for 5+years. Delivery driver called and still unable to find address even though was at top of road. Food was delivered cold and ruined the evening. Was promised call back from manager last night this is yet to happen.

From order to delivery it was 1.45hrs! Also app said it was delivered at 1 hr after when it wasn’t and then called restaurant to find out where it was and was told it was out with driver, phoned back 20mins later when still hadn’t arrived (I live 5 mins from restaurant) and still didn’t arrive till 30 mins later. Food was not piping hot and mediocre, definitely won’t be ordering from here again or through just eat as when asked about any kind of compensation was refused out right and told I’d have to go through the just eat app. Appalling all round really

Great food but took 2 hours to turn up

This is a lovely restaurant with a very pleasant and knowledgeable head waiter. she is great with us and our family. The food is so good the draught lager i loved. Good pricing and dish recommendations were perfect.

Always great quality meats, well flavoured curries and the rice tastes amazing. Ordering for 2, there is always enough to share 😊 Definitely our go to takeaway/restaurant!

Must have been the best curry I've ever tasted, I got a Korma and a Bhuna to take away, the staff was very friendly and it's clear that the chef is passionate about giving his customers the best food he can make! I highly reccomend this place, I came all the way from nottingham to give it a try and I was not disappointed. I also highly reccomend the garlic bread, will drive all the way back for more as soon as I get the chance.

Ordered from here consistently over 4 years, most recently been extremely let down by the quality of food, delivery times & missing things off my order.

Still no food after 2 and half hours

Ordered at 18:33 and arrived at 21:08. And how dare I question it to the driver !!! He was actually put out by me saying how long it took ! A record wait for me with this one.

Excellent meal friendly staff with a layed back attitude not rushed the place was buzzing at 7pm best Indian meal we have had my only problem was I had Chiken Biryani and it was huge you cannot fault the meal portions great night had by both of us Thank You

Nice dinner and pick up time was accurate. The saag paneer was amazing! A bit small rice portion in my opinion but otherwise great!

We booked an 8.15 table and arrived at 8.05 We were shown to the table and 20 mins later nobody had been to see if we would like to order drinks. We asked a staff member who apologised and took the drinks orders. On delivering the drinks to the table we ordered food. After half an hour poppadoms arrived and at 10pm we still had t had the starter! When we spoke to a staff member we were told “we’re short staffed” If that’s the case then DON’T TAKE MY BOOKING! If I wanted to eat after 10pm I’d have booked later. We got the bill and left. Too late to eat and past it. If they’d have explained earlier we may have understood but we were only spoken to when we complained. Terrible service. Poor half attempt at an apology. Been before but never going back.

DO NOT ORDER TAKEOUT Ordered at 8pm told 60 mins, telephone after 9.10pm told our order was been packed and ready for delivery, telephoned 9.30pm told it was on the way. Finally arrive 10pm. Shocking customer service 😡😡😡😡 I will never order again, I would of cancelled the order if I was told the truth in the first place. Didn’t expect to wait 2 hours for a takeout.

No food yet and waited 2 hours for delivery

We waited an hour for our food. Then it tasted horrible! The masala was way too sweet and the butter chicken had a very strange taste to it. Like extremely strong onion bhaji. Would not recommend and will not be going back.

Fantastic as usual... However, we didn't get our Chapati's... but not a problem, well remind the young girl in the restaurant next time.

Delivery a bit late but food excellent.

Not up to usual standard. Starters dry and bland. Main course lacked flavour and spice. For a Jalfrezi it tasted more like a korma - no kick - no spice - little flavour. You are better than this which is the most disappointing aspect.

First time here but others in our party had been. Holly was great - we were about 5 minutes late, but we were seated immediately and drinks and poppadoms arrived in blink of an eye. Great starter - lamb chops, followed by King Prawn Biryani, veg curry and a side of tarka dhal. Good sized portions and food was lovely. Holly apologised for the delay in getting the food, but that was fine and no apology needed! Nice atmosphere and will return for another treat.

We have order many meals from Akash and have enjoyed them. Unfortunately the meal tonight was not up the usual expected standard. The chicken was tough, the food had little taste and was watery. A pool of watery fluid had formed at the adage of my meal. If this meal had been served to me at the restaurant, I would have no hesitation to send it back to the kitchen.

Amazing food! I have used akash for a while now and I have never had a problem! Always amazing staff on the phones or delivering and amazing food to go with it! I’d highly recommend this as the best curry house in Beverley! Never disappointed:)

Good food but small portion and late delivery.

We went on Saturday night and had such a good experience at Akash. The restaurant was busy and the atmosphere was buzzing. We had a tandoori mixed grill and a chicken bhuna. The mixed grill was sizzling on arrival and the meats were absolutely delicious. It was very good value for money, accompanied with salad, rice, naan and a sauce. The bhuna was delicious, one of the best we’ve had by far. Think I’ve just found my new fav Indian! The service was brilliant, very friendly and attentive. We can’t wait to visit again! Would definitely recommend

Went to Akash last night on a Saturday night and honestly one of the best Indians I’ve ever had. The Desi Handi was absolutely delicious and the chicken shashlik was so tasty! Such good value for money, the staff were so friendly and we received good customer service. Can’t wait to go back again x

Do not order from this takeaway, it is absolutely disgusting! No flavour in any of the dishes, the butter chicken was like a watery korma and the chicken was hard. The king prawn tandoori was burnt and they were tiny - not king prawns. When we phoned to complain, the customer service was shocking. They made out we were lying and said they would only refund us if we took the food back. It was 9.30pm and we’d had a drink, hence ordering a take away, so this wasn’t an option. Very disappointing, they were rude & not prepared to do anything other than say “I’m sorry you feel that way”. Avoid this at all costs!!
