Great value and good size portions.

Always have a lovely meal here, efficient service and really tasty curries, reasonably priced meal deal for evening with 4 elements, poppadom and pickles/starter/curry and rice. Local to us so we can walk down and they have a good drinks selection. Great for couples and larger parties and if you can't finish you meal they will give you takeaway containers to fill.

Rubbish,sent wrong food i asked to make sure no coconut and they sent a coma instead of butter chicken,I rang to complain and they hung up after saying will sort it next time we order like that is going to happen

I'd definitely get a takeaway from here as the food was delicious ...but I wouldn't eat in as there is no atmosphere and the waiter just was missing in action. But oh my..the food was fabulous 👌

This is a very nice Indian restaurant, with some really good meal options and a great value weekday menu. Service is always quick and friendly, and the restaurant is a nice, clean atmosphere. The only drawback is that it isn't a huge space and it's quite full of tables. It doesn't feel cramped or crowded, but it can get very noisy. The two times I have visited, there have been some extremely loud fellow diners which makes it really hard to have a conversation across the table. It's better earlier in the evening, when it's still relatively quiet. This wouldn't put me off returning though. The food and value makes up for it!

Decent curry. We had a couple of lamb dishes. The sauce was good but the lamb was a little dried out unfortunately. I would definitely go back though and try again.

We have gone here for years. The starters are superb, gorgeous onion bhaji, chicken tikka, popadoms and sauces.. we go mainly for those!!. The mains just take it down for us.. not as good as they used to be.. i dont eat the chicken in them and sometimes the curry tastes of stock.. however other times they are tastier. We would like the tandoori chicken off the bone to go back on the menu!. We now have a new go to indian restaurant which is madras.

Bad service, middle of the road food, front door wide open all evening so the place had lots of flies, no atmosphere, there shall be no return.

What ever your doing now its wrong, you used to be the best now it's bloody awful, madras was very watery and king prawns cut in half. You have lost it such a shame.

Me and my wife had a meal and despite some other comments about lack of taste, we both enjoyed our meals which were hot and plentiful, and would go again.

Tried this restaurant as a take away 1st time tonight . Outstanding . Prompt . Food very tasty - best Indian takeaway I’ve had this last year . Meat succulent and soft - sauces fresh - not swimming in oil .. totally will have them as my go to Indian takeaway .. very impressed !!

Brilliant food, great table service excellent value. Only one gripe which is the lack of any hygiene facilities in the gents toilets. Absolutely no soap and not a case of it just having ran out either. The only item provided which resembled soap was an old looking bottle of alcohol gel which isn’t really adequate. The hand drier didn’t work either. The budget for the newly decorated restaurant area obviously didn’t stretch to the toilets which is a shame. This isn’t the first time I’ve noticed the lack of washing facilities in the toilets, it’s a shame this area has been ignored completely. My pal and I will be back again in about a months time for our next curry, I may bring a bottle hand soap with me 😳😊🤣🤷‍♂️😎 Other than that keep up the good work and address the soap issue please. 😊😊😊😎😋

After having food delivered, myself and my other half, looked at me and said it doesn’t taste of anything? I found neither did mine!!!! I rang to explain this and was met by a completely uninterested man who basically said he did not believe me and that no one had ever complained before! I simply thought that something had gone wrong in the preparation of the food. The man added that he would not be giving this feedback to the chef as it was untrue!!!!! So how the hell can he know if he’s made a bad meal? God help you all out there if you dare to criticise the food! Zero out of 10

I ordered two Indian meals for delivery from this place at a cost of £35.95 and when we began to eat it there was no flavour whatsoever! The meals were so bland that we couldn’t describe the flavours! When I rand to give feedback the man who answered was so flippant and said he did not accept our feedback!!!!! Good luck with the business guys that was the worst takeaway I’ve ever had

Unfortunately this restaurant is unable to cope under pressure. We arrived at 6.30 but the volume of takeaway orders meant that we were low on their priorities so an hour and a half later not having received our main course we decided to have them box it up so that we could save it for later as we had another appointment to go to. Their ability to manage customer expectations is sadly lacking. The manager refused to come out to address our concerns as we along with others left before our meal was completed. Maybe this was a one off but after speaking to other people this seems to be a common occurrence. Regards Hawksworth Eagle

Great food and great staff make this easily the best Indian Restaurant in the area. If you order takeaway, the quality doe not drop and the orders always ready and still hot when running late to collect.

First time I have been to saffron lounge and will definitely go again .me and husband cane for our 20th anniversary meal and I was impressed with the food staff was lovely and everything was lovely and clean and comfortable. Would definitely recommend to people who like Indian they won't be disappointed

Enjoyed a lovely meal in the restaurant for my son’s birthday! We booked for 20.30 on a Saturday evening and the restaurant was full to the brim with people enjoying themselves. Great service from the staff and incredible food. Lamb Dopiaza and biriyani were exceptional, as were the breads. The chicken tikka masala was a little sweet for our taste but still good. Well done! You’ll need to book if you want a table earlier in a Saturday!

The food is great... the best in the area.. however the ordering and customer service needs a lot to be desired... 2 out of 4 orders have been wrong..including the address, so if you want to eat what you have ordered go elsewhere. BIG SHAME ... need a good front of house...

Visited with a friend on Thursday night with no booking. It was not busy at all. Shame as lovely place. The staff was all very friendly . We ordered their meal mean of 4 courses for £12.95. Our drinks came quickly & so did our food. I absolutely love Indian food & this didn’t disappoint. My friend didn’t finish all hers & they offered 2 box it up for her to take home without us asking. I would definitely look to visit again. Lovely food & good friendly service.

Ordered Lamb Tikka main meal and checked that they did lamb takeaway as a main meal. Once food arrived it was stewed lamb/mutton that had not been cooked for 6 to 7 minutes instead had been boiled in a sauce. Had they said they didn't do Lamb Tikka that would of been fine, I would of Ordered something else, however to try and lie and deceive that it was Lamb tikka leaves me no option other than to report them to trading standards...watch this space

Lovely food, but not a place for a meal for 2 on a Saturday night. Full of very drunk loud people. Will def go back mid-week or a bit earlier than 9pm

Went for a meal with my son and fiance. They have visited before, but it was the first time we had been. I can be very picky about chicken and how well its cooked, but this was a very nice meal. Just the right quantity, very flavoursome. The staff were friendly and the service was good. Two selection of menu, both good value for money. The best curry I've had in a long time. We will be back...

Food was terrible. We've enjoyed Saffron Lounge in the past but this is not the same establishment. Bland curry rock hard naan, no poppadoms for a £23.50 order. Honestly buy a microwave boxset from ASDA or Tescos save your money. Tried to explain to the owner Ash said we could have 20% off our next order. We won't go back.

Food was 75 minutes late, it was lukewarm and even have me wrong naan bread. No apology for late arrival very disappointing will definitely not use them again

Had such a lovely meal, food is exceptional. Unfortunately, the service was really poor. The women waitresses were both really rude, really snappy and not helpful. No service with a smile. Really unfortunate to have poor service when the food was so nice.

Booked in to go one night on an off chance and they had a table for 2 available, the place was full which was nice to see and the staff were lovely. Had a starter and main and both were fantastic! Only 1 thing is staff could check on us a little more for drinks as the atmosphere was amazing I could of had 3 or 4 more drinks.

Booked a meal here for a Saturday night. The service was excellent and we did not have to wait long to order our meals and drinks all night. The poppadoms and sauces were so tasty and our request to have more mango chutney than others was kindly accepted. The curries were delicious - lots of chicken and along with the rice went together brilliantly well. We were shared two curry dishes along with one rice and a garlic naan bread and my wife couldn't finish it and I must admit I was struggling but I couldn't waste any of this delicious food. Top marks to a top restaurant. We will be back!

Nice restaurant attentive staff and great food what's not to like.

Have used this restaurant for years and have always been satisfied. Had a takeaway recently, something has changed, don't know if they have a different chef but some of our regular dishes were different. My partner's dansak tasted different, the spinach and potato dish was totally different, large chunks of potatoes in it and my onion salad had cucumber in which isn't the normal hardly any tomatoes but loads of onion. The restaurant was full when picking up the takeaway but there didn't seem like any social distancing was being adhered to on observation.

Due to lockdown they are only offering takeaways. They now deliver which is excellent, easy to order over the phone or via their new app. We ordered over the phone and paid with a visa debit card. Food arrived after 40 minutes. Everything was delicious, hot and full of flavour. Great news they now have a new menu which has some of the old favourites but also has some exciting new additions that we cannot wait to try. We would definitely recommend.

I've been searching in Hull for a good Indian curry other than any Indian workmate can make. It has taken years and loads of Indian meals... But I've found the best i can find. (Other than Star of India Steakhouse n Grill in Puerto Rica, Gran Canaria. Nepalese chef.) We had Biriani & Mirchi Massalla. Got to try this place.

Second time we have booked a table and they have overbooked! After 40 minutes still didnt have a table big enough to accommodate us in the end we had to leave without eating as they still didnt have a table suitable to accommodate us. Should be honest and say if already too busy and not be greedy and accept the booking!!

First time visit to Saffron and definitely won't be our last. Absolutely fabulous food and reasonably priced too. Greeted by a lovely young lady on arrival and she was attentive all evening. Thouroghly enjoyed my birthday meal. Thankyou Saffron.

Simply the best Indian food you can get

This has become our favourite restaurant. The food is always great and it was on Monday 23 December 19 - the whole meal was excellent with beautiful flavours coming through and as usual the staff were helpful and friendly. We will be back - again!

Ive eaten at many of Hull's indian restaurants and Saffron lounge really is worthy of a special mention. The food is consistently delicious and prepared to a standard which just has the edge over what other restaurants can do. The staff are always very knowledgeable and polite. There really is nothing nothing to complain about here.

Visited here last night for the first time & thought it was lovely. Was in a big group of 12 but the staff weren’t phased by this & everything was bought out swiftly. Everyone of us enjoyed their meals & the manager adapted my sons & husbands meals as I explained they didn’t like some of the ingredients. The were also very attentive & we didn’t feel rushed to leave. Will definitely return!

Absolutely fantastic food, rich flavours, just totally banging! Staff very polite and speedy service with drinks and food. My only complaint is that staff were turning over the table cloths after people left and reset the tables. Sorry but this needs addressing!

This is one of the best Indians around. Have been many times to this place, food is great, staff really good and next to two great drinking places. Menu has lots to offer - spot on place and heading back soon.

The chicken Korma is creamy and coconutty, one of the best ones I've had, same for the chicken tikka masala, the chicken is really tasty, recommend the keema naans also :)

Vegetable jalfrezi was very good indeed. Spicy and fresh chillis made this a pleasure to eat.

Another delicious meal, always full of spice and flavour. Our personal favourite for a takeaway, great price and always ready when we arrive to collect.

Last minute decision to go for a curry, and what a great choice. Piping hot food,delicately flavoured,served will care by staff who new what they were doing. Wonderful selection of fragrant dishes. In a word,the best Asian food I’ve ever eaten. Lastly...great value for money.

Thoroughly enjoyed a recent midweek visit to Saffron with a couple of friends. Did book but probably didn’t need to. Service was great throughout, having that balance of being attentive but not pestering you too much. The quality of food was fantastic - great pickle tray, rich flavourful sauces for the mains, particularly the vegetable dopiaza, and fabulous, fresh naans. Choosing the set menu gave amazing value. Saffron is definitely worth visiting.

Set 3 course menu for £12.95 was great value and offered a wide choice of popular dishes. All the food was tasty and the service excellent. Will definitely be visiting again. Thanks

My partner and I came here for valentine's day as he had visited many moons ago and reccomended it. I have to say, we have had many curries in Hull but this is going to the top of our list as the best curry house. We ordered the Golabi and the Garlic Chilli Korai - they were both full of flavour with just the right amount of spice and the chicken was really tender. We also ordered a bottle of the Chilean Merlot and was pleasently surprised at how well balanced it was as our past experience of ordering Red wines from Curry houses has left us with a bad taste. The only small downside (that didnt really matter to us) is the spacing of the tables as you could hear conversations that were being had 3 tables down. It can make you feel like your sharing your meal with strangers however we came here for the food and it was scrumptious. The staff were also lovely and 0we will definitely be returning.

I visited with a friend on a Friday tea-time. It was our second visit so we knew what to expect. We had booked a table in advance though probably did not need to at that early time. The decor is pleasant and the seats quite comfortable. There was a steady stream of customers collecting take-away meals. We ordered a pickle tray and 2 popadoms as a starter to share. There was mint yogurt, mango chutney, onion salad and mixed pickle which was too hot for us to try! We are not very adventurous!

We visited on Wednesday early evening and the restaurant was quiet busy.

We where looking forward to our visit a couple of weeks ago (our 1st visit since the refurb) however we where a little disappointed, the decor was ok and refreshing but we thought the seating layout resembled more of a works canteen with no 'intimate' areas. The food was ok but we thought no better than on previous visits. I dont think we we be rushing back again.

Wonderful meal! We staff where brilliant - one of the small children on our table ordered chips and then asked for some tomato sauce and the waiter say they didn’t have any but he went out to a nearby shop and specially bought some. Would definitely recommend and I would definitely come back.

Under staffed that led to poor service

Visited for a family meal (early dinner) on Saturday. The decor, atmosphere and service were all good and the staff at first very friendly. We ordered our food with no fuss and all was well although the menu didn’t have the usual array of choice. Starter (mixed kebab) was good but our supposedly flavoursome chicken dopiaza was watery and bland. When mentioned to the waiter was coldly told it was ‘standard’ and usually full of flavour. Could have been a lovely venue but the food quality was just not there. Will try again another day but needs to improve.

Three of us went on Friday and it was very busy. The staff were fantastic, even though they had some issues with the beer stock. Really friendly and helpful and offered good service. The food was good all round but I think the meat could be a bit better quality (it’s not bad). The rice, naan and sauces were really good. The starters were good but some of the lamb was tough and the chicken a bit over cooked. With a few changes this could be really good. Very impressed with the young staff here.

Why do places that we go to insist on playing loud music, I am there to eat not to attend a disco. To noisy, food was okay just, but wont go again I couldnt enjoy my meal because of the noise, couldnt wait to get out.
