Says it’s open 11.30 to 7.30 but we drove there and found it closed 1.30 to 4.30 so suggest you update your opening times on your on Google search

Tonight my mum dad and I had fish and chips from this chip shop, the food was delicious and excellent service

Great fish and chips would definitely recommend a visit. We live local ro the area and it's the best local take away.

Good food, prices are reasonable, one of the best chippies in the area. It's on the main road, so parking can be tricky now and then, but it is what it is. No reason not to go there if great fish and chips are what you're after.

Food very good but the service was very poor they gave my son change in his ld £1 coins that are not legal tender

Great Chippy and the bloke looks a bit like chubby brown. Food is always great and they have outside benches in the sun. Highly recommend

Usually cooked to order as you enter which is always a good sign, staff are nice and friendly and the food is always good. We had a family get together last week and they coped well with the big order and it was enjoyed by all. Portions are on the big side.

Ample sized portions well cooked and very tasty food. Very friendly staff and a real family business which is rare nowadays. Worth the wait for them to put your requested fish into fry. Worth a detour of your heading to the motorway or have just come off it into the village.

I am local to the village of Newport, East Yorkshire and there has been a choose of many chippies around the area, but Johnny Haddocks is consistently the best in both test and quality of chips and fish.

Johnny's has been around for many years and not for good reason the fish and chips are the best around, in fact they are my first port of call when I return home. Haddock is served as a basis so ask if you want cod but why would you!

Back up to friends in Newport for weekend so compulsory visit on Friday for fish n chips! Batter is absolutely the best! Lovey size fish and plenty specials on board! Always busy - not hard to see why! See u next time!

I visit friends in this village so one of the weekend nights we always have fish n chips (and other things too) from here. Superbly cooked, batter is delicious, nice size portions and ever so friendly Johnny at the helm! Def recommend!

We call here from March through to November. Everything is cooked in beef dripping, the fish is cooked to order, and superb, the chips, the best ever, give it a try!! If you're travelling to Brid in the summer, there are tables outside, well worth a slight detour.

Been using Johnny haddocks at least on average once a week, sometimes more, reliable owner & same fryer always, best fish chips and homemade patties you'll find this side of east Yorkshire, we travel 15 mins each way to collect. Even my sister & family look forward to jh when they visit from Lancashire!

The traditional English dish is at its best when bought at this establishment. Good sized portions are prepared fresh, and taste delicious. Certainly the best fish and chip shop in this area of East Yorkshire.

I treat myself to fish and chips from this chippy a couple of times a month. The fish is amongst the best I have tasted, always fresh, not overly greasy, perfect dark brown batter. The chips are nice and crisp and again, not overly greasy. The peas are lovely, lots of flavour and always the right consistency (not too runny).The owner is lovely, always up for a chat!

Reading other review I am a bit puzzled. Working locally I have been here on a few occasions and never had a bad meal.Patties are excellent.

Having been here on several occasions before due to work location , I am always sucked into the feeling that it has to be better than the last time, whether that be price,portion size or quality ,and every time I am left disappointed on all counts , this chippy gets by on its location ie no other fish shop in the vicinity , it's just a pity that the owners don't use this draw to make it worth travelling to ,as it is easy to say its not! If you are starving then it fills a gap and that's about it , and remember , you may be asked to remortgage your house to pay for it.

We call in at Johnny Haddocks maybe a dozen or more times form March to December whilst on our way to or from our caravan at Burton Constable, this only causes a slight detour by leaving the M62 or the A63 at Newport / Gilberdyke.Most of the time I have Haddock n Chips and my partner has Sausage chips n gravy and nothing is left they are always very good,i honestly cannot believe anyone has reason to complain with the food the staff are friendly opening times are o.k they even open on a Sunday tea time.KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK JOHNNY AND YOUR GOOD STAFF.P.S There is seating outside.

Despite being my nearest chippy, I must confess I drive to avoid Johnny Haddocks after 3 disappointing attempts at trying the food. I have been disappointed by the quality of both the fish and the chips. Small, mushy fish and overlooked, luke warm, greasy chips.In its favour, it does still seem to attract customers, but, I notice it hasn't attracted many reviews.

A few years ago this was a takeaway where we were willing to travel 10 miles to visit ..... the walls were once covered with photographs from it's celebrity visitors.....but I believe it may have changed hands now & all of those have gone....That being said, when passing we do still call in for their excellent fish & chips.....very friendly staff & good value.....when they know you have to travel a while to get home they are quick to double wrap your food to keep it warm.Yes it may have lost a little of it's quirky charm.....but for the food it's still worth a visit

We don't eat take-away fish & chips very often but when we do we always use Johnny Haddocks. The quality is superb, the prices very affordable and the cheery service excellent.
