The best restaurants in Stafford West Midlands

The service was very poor. We gave up waiting for a dessert menu, and explained that's why we were leaving, but the person who took payment just smiled! Two of us are gluten free, no problems with cross contamination. However, the salad bowl was very overpriced and the salmon was very pale and lacking taste. There is no point in eating out, if I can make something that simple better myself.

Having a catch up with friends arrived about 4.30pm not many people in ordered regular carveries no complaints at all plenty of meat Yorkshire puds were homemade unlike other places no faults with staff always like it here

Lovely meal. Atmosphere was great. Lovely to see it being busy and so many enjoying their evening out. Also lovely to see the bar area busy. Good food and friendly staff. Would definitely recommend. Thank you Emily for your expertly on the menu.

Took the children for an Easter treat and it was shocking. Ordered 2 unicorn monster shakes which should have been strawberry and bubblegum and a Eton mess monster shake. Both were flavourless and over priced glass of warm milk with Mr Whippy ice cream which I could have made at home for less money and I would have put some flavour in. When asked if they are supposed to be strawberry milkshake and strawberry and bubblegum we were told yes. I told them they weren’t and all the young lad said was “oh right” and walked off.

We visited for dinner there was 10 of us we were all very happy with the food and the atmosphere was so relaxed and friendly, toilets were spotless and smelt lovely, generally a lovely tradition pub with polite friendly staff

Dreadful breakfast. Ordered eggs benedict got hard boiled eggs dried parsley and a foul hollandaise sauce. Hence to say inedible. The only good thing was it was clean though we were the only ones there and it was early so unsure why we also had a 40min wait probably explains the hard eggs!

First visit Busy friendly welcoming Great value and service will definitely return Lovely menu with lots of good value choices

We ordered a takeaway last night and we're really disappointed with the curries . We ordered 3 different curries and they were all the same apart from one had large pieces of onions and my chicken balti had a few sliced mushrooms, maybe tinned ? All three curries were bright pink so looked like chicken tikka with a few changes but they all tasted the same . Such a shame as I used to love the Chicken balti .

Called in today for a lunch , usually I have a morning Cappuchino and delicious teacake but today went for a Cappuchino and Cheese and onion toasty which was delicious! Came with an ample pot of Coleslaw and salad Lovely Crusty bread, I also had a "small" glass of the House Ros which was one of the nicest I have tasted and fully complemented the meal.

The manager is rude and arrogant- will never visit the Royal Oak again No wonder pubs can’t keep customers ————————————————————————————————————————————————————————————

Excellent real ale combined with great staff. Best Sunday Carvery in Stafford. Lovely fresh baps daily if you want a snack. Would recommend the Cheese and Onion there delicious.

Great Lunchtime stop here. Today was made even better than usual by the manager, Chris, he really makes a difference. Always enjoyed a Nando’s but today it felt like more than a fast diner! Good food too, with lots of help getting GF service as well as extra effort to provide “Vusa” peri peri sauce! We’ll certainly be back and hope Chris is on shift. Thanks

Appalling £6+ for two cups of milky hot water. I requested two regular americanos with ONE hot milk on the side. I received two huge mugs of hot, milky water but was far too short of time to request a refund. Even a brief request about my order was met by two faces with blank stares. A never to be repeated experience.

Cake lovely and not badly priced for the size of the slice, shame your cafe / ice cream shop girls are miserable as sin - they need to be taught some customer service skills, eye contact, interact with your customers and most importantly look like you want to there and SMILE!

Room on arrival had a soaking wet floor, absolutely stank of damp. Very basic. Bathroom had mold patches in between tiles. No Prosecco in room on arrival, as paid for and arranged. Very disappointed had a two night stay. Spa is very dated, never been to anything like it before. Pool was crammed with kids. Our package was booked for a couples spa weekend. Food was ok nothing special.
