Always value for money and good food. Pleasant atmosphere and friendly staff. Very popular and at times better to book a table.

Very nice ambience, great service and a super choice on the menu. Had the 8oz Rump steak medium rare and was done perfectly. A good selection of drinks both alcoholic and non- alcoholic.

I visited the Wildwood for lunch on Tuesday the 11th of February The atmosphere inside was welcoming and friendly and the restaurant area was well laid out and spotlessly clean. I had a gammon meal which was delicious perfectly cooked and well presented. All the staff were pleasant and very helpful particularly Jan who helpfully opened my sachet of ketchup for me. Thank you all for making my lunchtime experience so enjoyable

I went to the Wildwood on Friday 31st Jan for my son's birthday. As I was let down by another venue I contacted the Wildwood on the day looking to book for 9 people. Although they were very busy, Amanda who I spoke to on the phone made an effort to ensure that we could be accommodated and said she would re-arrange some tables. I was initially worried that we would be 'crammed' into some corner, however I was surprised to find we were in a great spacious area near the windows. I ordered via the app as I could see that the bar staff were very busy, being a Friday night. This was efficient and worked well and all orders arrived quickly. One thing that stood out was the quality of the food, this was outstanding and everyone was very satisfied and commented on the quality and how well the meals were cooked. I had the Chicken Gyros Flatbread, and I would certainly recommend this, it was cooked perfectly and the salad was fresh. This pub has been recently refurbished, and I tend to find that pubs loose their friendly atmosphere when this happens, but this is not the case here and the atmosphere was great, there were a mixture of people just having a drink and others having meals, it was very busy but not too loud or intimidating that you sometimes find especially at weekend evenings, and although they were very busy the staff were very friendly and made time to talk to us and make us feel welcome. Overall, we all had a great experience and will certainly be returning again and looking at the Wildwood as a first choice for booking future family events such as birthdays.

Been going to this pubfor years.. went boxing day 2024 with brother after being savered several drinks and also buying several drinks for bar staff known to manager was told couldn't order any mymore drinks....this place is corrupt and unsociable.....do not go here

After many years of cooking the dinner on Christmas Day, we decided to have our Christmas dinner at our regular local. What a superb decision. There was a great atmosphere, all the staff where in a great festive mood, the table was ready, for us to use as soon as soon as we went in, it was dressed with gold covering with the wine glasses laid out. Service was second to non. We booked our dinner for 1.30, we were asked about 5 minutes before if we were still OK for that time, nice touch. The 3 courses were great well cooked and presented, plenty of roast potatoes, and a large serving of veg. superb parsnips. A great day was had by all. We will be doing it again for sure. not fair to just mention a few staff names, but Chris, you have a great team working for you, they are a credit to yourself and Sizzling Keep up the good work.

Christmas Dinner at the Wildwood....First Class !!!! Brilliant atmosphere. Lovely table settings with all the trimmings....crackers etc. The staff actually made you feel welcome and joined in the festivities whilst still doing a brilliant and professional job as usual. Food up to normal standard and HOT. Another enjoyable occasion . Thank you all at the Wildwood. And hope you all get to enjoy Christmas,including a well earned rest !!

Would like to mention Reiss who when taking my order very patiently explained (several times) what choices I could have with the chicken. Fabulous table service again from Teresa. Thanks to the chefs, Dan and Carly for great food. Bar service from Farrell as always is fast and efficient. Definitely recommend The Wildwood. Tip: book a table as it can get quite busy.

Called in for lunch and decided we would try the two meals for £11.75. Ordered Sausages and mash and Fish and chips. Large portions and great value for money. Restaurant was very busy but the service by Teresa and Jan was first class. Always made welcome. Will call again when in the area.

Met up with friends who hadn’t been here before. We all ordered the Sizzling Tandori skewers, 2 with rice and 2 with skin-on fries. Food was definitely sizzling when delivered to the table by a very friendly Claire. I had had this before so I knew what to expect, the others really enjoyed it and all skillets were clean when finished. We didn’t have room for a dessert but one of the party had a baileys coffee with cream, made by Amanda. So nice she had another! Great service and a nice atmosphere. A shout out for Farrell behind the bar who looked after us with drinks.

Had a great night again. 8 people, no food complaints from anyone. the staff, as usual, were attentive, and friendly, making you feel very welcome. This is the norm for this much improved local estate pub and eatery. The atmosphere is the best it has been for a long time. Just visited on spur of the moment for a spot of lunch. We both had chicken gyros served with skin on fries, I had a complimentary gin and tonic off the app and my husband had a pint of doom bar. The food was hot and fresh. Great relaxing atmosphere, polite staff and speedy service. Definitely recommend and we will be returning very soon.

Booked a table which meant we sat in the restaurant area and happy we did as it was quite busy. Having just relocated to the Stafford area, we called into this pub for lunch. It appears to be well run by the management, with everywhere clean and tidy, and the staff are very friendly. Ordered from their discounted menu and the food arrived promptly and was good quality for the money. It's definitely on our list of places to pop in for lunch in future.

Called in for Breakfast on Saturday, it was served quickly and hit the spot, prices were great and you can help yourself to as much filter coffee as you want.

Dreadful avoid like the plague there was four of us and only one person was able to eat their meal as it was disgraceful shame because it's a nice atmosphere just been refurbed stuff were not very helpful quite rude at times and they didn't offer us a full refund which I think they should have under the circumstances will not go back

Three of us visited this place for lunch. We ordered 1 x ribeye medium cooked 1 x rump well done 1 x fish and chips but you had none so scampi instead. What is the point of asking how you like your steak when it comes well done no matter what you ask for. The ribeye was ordered medium and came well done. Its not hard to cook as ordered. The skin on fries were a bit soggy but tasted ok. The skillets and the wooden holders are tatty looking. The scampi says it comes with tartare sauce but you have to get it yourself. The bar staff were nice to deal with and were friendly. The toilets are nice too. Overall an average place to eat. A bit more care with the food would be appreciated.

I visited the recently refitted Wildwood at lunchtime - the changes that have been made are very impressive creating a modern welcoming interior space and extending the outside seating area which is sure to be a big hit in the warmer weather! A very warm welcome awaited me from Lisa and the team and I was tempted into trying the new menu which is both comprehensive and inviting - my hot dog was delicious and very efficiently served by Jan who checked who check I had everything I needed and satisfied with the quality of the meal It’s great to have The Wildwood back in action!

Called in on Friday for lunch. We were seated quickly. We ordered Jerk chicken with rice and garlic prawns with chips. Chicken was succulent and prawns cooked perfect. Teresa our waitress was very attentive and helpful as usual. Will definitely call in again.

The hunters chicken was served without bbq gravy but when we asked they gave us a pot of bbq sauce. They also messed up our burgers. A bit more care needs to be taken on making sure the orders are correct.

What can I say. Arrived was greeted by a lovely member of staff who explained the track and trace policy. Downloaded both NHS and Sizzling pubs app. Was asked if I was ok to use App to order food and drink or table service. Explained I would like to try the app, was told if I needed help not to hesitate to ask for assistance. Ordered food and drink via app and both arrived pretty quickly. Food was piping hot and presentation was amazing. Will definitely be visiting again.

Went for a drink last week. The good, it felt clean and well laid out in the current circumstances. The bad... Service. Had a couple of beers, then last orders were rung (21:20). Eventually managed to collar a waitress and asked for another pint. She said they were busy and it would be about 5 mins... Fair enough (it was still before half past) so I waited, waited and waited .... Bar closed and I still had no drink, not even a visit from the server, just ignored. They need to sort out table service if you don't have their app.

We are locals and use the Wildwood often for drink or food. The food is mid-range; fills a gap and is pocket friendly. Just don't expect gourmet dining - this is a Sizzling after all! They've done really well during Covid - introduced a great app so you can order drinks and/or food from your table...should have done this years ago! It will make me come back again.

We ordered at our table via the companies App and food and drinks were delivered promptly. Tables were adequately spaced and staff very Covid aware and masked and gloved when delivering food. We felt very at ease eating here. Food was lovely and great choice.

Ordered Italian chicken for lunch via the app as waited 30 minutes and no one came to the table as promised. Waited another 30 minutes for a very sub standard meal. Chicken was dry and hard, hardly any sauce and I think there must been some kind of potato shortage, one potatoes worth of chips.

First meal out since lock-down and surprised how safe we felt. Very clean, plenty of space between customers. Asked to sanitize hands on arrival. Excellent prompt service. Good sized meals that were well presented and delivered and hot and cooked to a good standard. Would highly recommend and will be visiting again in the near future.

We have been going to The Wildwood pub for meals 4 or more times a week this past month since we first dare venture out post-lockdown. The place feels safe with customers being greeted at the door and asked to sanitise hands on arrival , taken to tables with a sanitised menu, well spaced out and a good system for ordering meals and drinks at the bar. Sanitiser on each table as well.Meals have been REALLY good each time so far , tasty and well cooked. Served hot and well presented on plates rather than skillets due to the Covid rules. We have taken advantage of the 'Eat out to help out' scheme , as well as dining here lots of other nights when that offer hasn't been on as well , and meals have all been equally as good each time.All staff so welcoming and can't do enough for you. A really nice atmosphere in the pub.We have pre-booked our tables each time , which is advisable as getting pretty booked up . Noticed new customers being so pleased with their first visit and meals that they have re-booked whilst there as well.Thanks to all the team for being very, very welcoming and making our visits really enjoyable.We're already booked in for a few more evening meals !

Went in today for food, pub wasn’t busy at all, food took ages to come to the table. I ordered a sizzling steak skillet for my meal and was at no point told that skillets are no longer available so was very surprised when it arrived on a plate. To say I’m disappointed is an understatement. Chips were Luke warm and had obviously been reheated as they were soggy and tasted disgusting. Onions were burnt and stuck together. The steak was the worst I’ve ever had and the not even hot peppercorn sauce was the only saving grace as it disguised the disgusting taste of the rest of the meal. I’m guessing that the meal also sat under a heat lamp before it was delivered. Will neger eat here ever again.
