Staff got some good manners Rocked up got my pint was very pints had the right colour Food was cooked and consumed Pudding was good chocolate cake tasted like chocolate was very surprised

Made an impromptu visit today 13/08/24 granddaughter was hungry. Found a table no problem. Bar service was very good and knowledge of the bar staff on food was brilliant. We didn't wait to long for our food and when it arrived it was delicious.My granddaughter who is 6 had the all day breakfast and my goodness what a bargain. Well done to I think it was Andrea on bar and Spike in kitchen.

I found there was no soap in the gents loos on one occasion. I mentioned this but was told by a staff member it would be refilled the next day. It's vital to have soap at All times to prevent the spread of bugs. Especially in a restaurant. Hand washing is esential especially with Covid on the rise. Disappointed with the reply about no soap by member of staff. Not really good enough. Good food usually good. Service is fairly quick. Reward system is good and the vouchers

Place looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a while, saw some dead flies on the window sill, bartender charged me for 2cocktails when I asked for the 2for1 special. Then other staff chimed in after I queried this and both gave different stories. Was quite off putting. Waiyed a while for food, but the Fish was delicious... that's about it. Not sure if I'd go back :/

The food was great and absolutely delicious. Probably cooked. I came here 5 years ago, it was the first time I think it's just the way I wanted to go out for lunch in a day and tea in a night. Maybe even occasionally I celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, leavers, wake receptions and more. Including live music.

I ordered a steak, which was cooked correctly, however the meat was mostly consisted of fat and rather chewy. The service was good.

Came to this pub for food, service was excellent. There was a lady Angela running the floor who made us feel really welcome, and made sure that we had a clean space to eat despite how busy the pub was. I would eat here again, service was friendly and professional particularly by the lady on the floor (Angela)

Came here for a family birthday meal. Lovely tasty food came out nice and hot. Staff managed well considering pub was very busy.

Always use this pub, whether its just for casual drinks or going out for a meal. Staff and management are absolutely lovely, good selection of food and drinks, cocktails are beautiful.

Most money hungry place ever. Charge different prices depending on the person, especially the tiny small man owner who will charge extra especially. Why are you charging £7.5 entry to a rubbish country pub? Also wont take card for entry (suspicious if you ask me 😉

How this place has an over 4* rating is absolutely beyond my understanding. Food was bland and totally lacking any flavour or seasoning. Tried adding salt to enhance flavour, but with the food lacking any flavour, it really didn't help at all. Best part about it was the Pepsi instead of Pepsi Max I ordered. 0/10 would avoid at all costs.

Clean place and courteous staff and best service. Separate dining area if preferred. Pool table facility. Parking spaces all around the pub. It's a sizzler pub and menu is quite delicious. If around that area give it a go. Advance table booking is available. Today there was a small gathering after the funeral which was booked. Today had most delicious lunch there. Still the best. Albion home match quite busy, still the best pub. Order a takeaway and have it delivered, pay a visit and enjoy a warm welcome. It was Sunday lunch time beautiful Sunday lunch with all the trimmings. Best thing it was full.

Beautiful food and staff I'm going again

Visiting from out of town made the mistake of passing by this pub for a meal before our long journey home. The food very poor. Ordered the fish and chips with a cappuccino. Cappuccino disgusting asked for an Americano instead, just as bad. The fish was barely warm in the middle. Chips were hard. The grilled chicken on the salad was burnt. The girl serving looked bitter and cold. Total attitude and thats before i ordered. Won't be stopping by again.

Ordered gyros style chicken wrap. Was served cold with literally few crumbs of chicken. Less than a once of chicken, 3 slices of tomato and some lettuce for £6,29.

My partner and I came here for a meal and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We arrived and got seated, drinks order taken. Then a few moments later our food order was taken. Within 10 mins the food arrived, piping hot, perfectly cooked, and the waiting staff were excellent. We would defo come here again if in the area (we are from Exeter).

Been here today for food again with my partner cant fault the place we never have a bad experience here.The mixed grills were absolutely delicious and presented well . We found out they were cooked by Gareth.Top chef !! Cooked to perfection , The bar staff liz and Andrea are lovely too, always friendly and helpful and willing to go the extra mile. I would highly recommend this pub for eating or drinking . Great atmosphere.well done guys !!

I would totally recommend the Crown and Anchor for food and a fun atmosphere at the weekend. It was happy hour until 11pm too which was a bonus. The staff were so attentive and really friendly. We will definitely be coming back next year for our works party.

I get offers by email every month. Update a glass of dry white wine from £6 upwards. It's cheaper to buy a bottle at Tesco

Went there Saturday 4th November family of six , just like to say service was fantastic really nice people , also food absolutely gorgeous , definitely recommend family / friends. also come again .

Drinks were a good price and the £5.00 off voucher was very welcome when used for the food order. The food was good and plentiful, however the seating was not the most comfortable our table was between a pillar and the kids vending machines which made people coming past us awkward and a bit off putting.

It's a big pub with not a lot of character due to it being part of a chain, however the beer is kept well and they do have a Monday special day where most of the selection off the pulls are a lot cheaper than normal. The app is a nice touch and allows you to order from table side or scan at the bar for free stuff. The toilets are run down and only just adequate for use in my opinion. I have not eaten here in a very long time due a few bad experiences in the past with food being burnt (yet cold) or just slapped on the plate with no real care given. The staff that work here are friendly and helpful, bit as with most big pubs there is never enough staff to cater for the amount of customers.

I tryed the Sizzling salmon ,it was ok my husband had steak.Maybe try the 2 meals for £10.99 next time.

Unfortunately not a good first experience for delivery. Decided to have food delivered and give it a try. My 2 burgers came without chips which I paid for. Rang up the pub and was told there's nothing they can do unless I go there to collect my chips. I don't drive but its 5 mins in the car so surely someone could have dropped them off for me. Left feeling hungry with half a meal and down 31 pound for 2 burgers and some salad. I emailed just eat but will take 3-5 working days to respond. Unfortunately I won't bother ordering for delivery again

Really could do with a refurb in the toilets, think about Wetherspoon toilets and use that as a template

First time visiting this pub. The sea bass was absolutely superb and beautifully presented. My wife had the chicken curry which was also delicious. The homemade chocolate brownie with custard was a nice treat. The staff were friendly, and overall we really enjoyed our visit. Will definitely come back here when visiting Stone.

The bar staff were pleasant, polite and helpful. The meal came promptly, it was hot well presented and delicious, the waitress was polite and checked if everything was ok with our meal.

Andrea and Freddy were so helpful and friendly. The food was superb we will be going back

I visited as a party of 16 people to celebrate my mom's 60th birthday. The booking was easy to make, the service was amazing. Sarah and Mark did a fantastic job, and the food was bought out all at once and it was all hot and delicious. We would definitely recommend the Crown and Anchor and we will certainly return.

Nice place for a pint and something to eat

I can came for my moms wake and the staff worked damn hard to help us enjoy the afternoon without added stress to an already emotional day. Food was an absolute beautiful

Can't comment on the food as I only came here for a lunchtime pint. Was disappointing that the ale pumps weren't on so had to opt for a Guinness. The staff were really friendly and nice though, and the place is huge with a decent sized beer garden. Later found out this place used to be the Jinglers which I've heard a lot of people talk about back in the day.

Food was terrible. It was cold, over cooked and dry

Just going out for a drink and a dance with friends, a group of young people trying to cause trouble all night, making comments, tipping drinks and the bouncers watched and did nothing. Got my bag stolen and the manager has not called back to check the cctv! Will not be going again and wouldn’t advise if your after a trouble free night!

Friendly staff and cold refreshing beer!

Staff were friendly. Food was good. We had a slight issue which was delt with straight away with no fuss.

I ate at the pub along with my husband and our 2 friends. This was Saturday 29th April. I had the old timer burger, my husband and friends had the steak, 1 with prawns, 1 with scampi and 1 with ribs. All meals were bought out timely, together, hot and they all tasted delicious. The steaks were cooked exactly how they were asked to be cooked. The meals were very good sized too. My friend had the banoffee cheesecake for pudding. It was really tasty. The staff were lovely and the service was impeccable. It's the first time we have eaten at the pub and definitely won't be the last. We will be recommending it to others. Many compliments to the chef.

We visited stone last weekend and decided to go into the crown and anchor for a drink. From the outside it looked well presented with a lovely thatch roof however green sick on the pavement outside. Inside was a completely different story. The floor was absolutely filthy and sticky, tables were sticky and dirty. Toilets were filthy, water everywhere, urine on the toilet seats, toilet roll on the floor, I felt like I needed to wash my hands after coming out! When we went in we were one of about 4 couples inside. Shortly after arriving a large group of people who were very intoxicated, shouting, singing and swearing came into the pub. They were very intimidating and made us feel uncomfortable. At no point did management or staff ask them to quieten down, we drank up and left. I certainly won’t be visiting again going off what they think is acceptable behaviour for its customers. Management/staff are cle

Went there for a school reunion and the venue was good for this , I gave the public house a 4 star because it didn't have any real ale on pull, I think it's a larger drinkers pub . This is not a public house that I use because of no ales on pull . However as a venue it worked .

Normally the food is bang on. This time not so good. Steak was very chewy too much gristle. Chicken overdone. Not the best. Last 4 times been here has been great food though. Maybe an issue in the kitchen

Visited here this evening to have an early dinner! Located in a decent place and easy access with two separate entrances with parking on both! Homely sort of feel pub but with the usual pub chain refinement! Staff were helpful and polite and the food came out swiftly even though it was busy! Your usual pub grub sort of food but the portions were decent and the food tasted decent,prices were also really good for what you get! Would recommend popping in for a bite to eat or even a birthday get together! Thank you

Lovely welcome, by the 3 women that were there (chef, manager, and bar tender/waitress). Chatted to them until my family turned up. Couldn't have asked for better service! Speedy....Food was really good. All of us had empty plates, and dishes. Perfect amount of food, not too much. Thankyou for making us feel welcome.

I travel a lot for work, UK and Europe however this place is the worse I have ever stayed in. Staff have no idea what they are doing. I booked for a corporate night out and I was embarrassed when my colleagues turned up. The rooms are filthy and falling apart, the staff are clueless, the breakfast was cold, they leave the bread under a light so it goes stale and not fit for purpose, the hot water isnt hot so no shower, they take money off your credit card without authorisation and they do not listen when you give them clear instructions. NEVER AGAIN WOULD I OR MY COLLEAGUES STAY HERE!
