No food chef not in not even a sandwich. No lime or even lemon for my desperado.

We dropped into the George and Dragon on the way home from the British Superbikes at Olton Park. We held off having food at the Olton Park due to the unreasonable prices. The prices at the George and Dragon are extremely reasonable and the food was fresh, hot and very tasty. Bar staff were polite and efficient. If we are ever back in the area again we will certainly come back. Thank You!.

Popped in with my husband & daughter after a visit to monkey world. We had a lovely warm welcome. The pub is lovely with toys for the kids, food was very tasty.I absolutely loved the candles, they smelt gorgeous Will definitely return next time we’re over that way 🫶 the young ladies behind the bar and waiting staff were so kind Whoever runs this pub should be very proud I noticed all the little handmade things too, plus the little book area Snug & cozy I didn’t want to leave 10/10

I had a honey roasted hock ham sandwich for £5 - except there wasn't any ham hock!!! It was just bog standard sliced ham. It tasted nice and the bread was nice and fresh but it wasn't as described in the menu. Couple next to us had exactly the same issue as they ordered the same sandwich. We both mentioned it as feedback to the waitresses but nothing happened. Please, if you are only serving sliced ham sandwiches just say so upfront on the menu to avoid any confusion or misrepresentation? My partner had the veggie chicken burger for £9. This was very very basic - and looked just thrown together. No salad in the burger to make it pretty either! The accompanying chunky chips were not nice and didn't taste good - they made my partner wretch at one point and she had to go the loo! Not a very impressive first visit, but we liked the indoor environment, seating and decor! Reply to owners response: I didn't even know the George & Dragon was a Marstons! No campaign on my part to target Marstons pubs with negative reviews which is what you're implying - it's just a coinciidence and just the way these pubs are currently performing sadly! LOL Think I've only been in two other Marstons - at the Marquis of Granby in Penkhull the food was terrible and at the New Broom in Checkley the food was reasonably Good (4 stars). Based on your comment, I will pro-actively be avoiding Marstons pubs going forward as we tend to have a poor time in them, LOL Thanks for not apologising for our experience at your pub recently and making feeble excuses that there's an imaginary and fictitious investigation into me, absolutely laughable! Is the investigation being carried out by Starmer's thought police? LOL

Just saw you on the road, and we needed lunch, and a decent size car park! Lovely pub, great food, and lovely staff.

Stopped in here for a pint and some cheesy chips. Best cheeky mid-day snack. Enjoyed the weather sitting outside. Loved the memories.

We found this pub on an app for camping, that includes pub stop overs for the night, the App is Search for Sites". We needed a stopover to break our trip from Scotland. We chose this pub at random. A VERY SUCCESSFUL CHOICE. On arrival we found the carpark to be half full but still managed to park our 8.1m motorhome with ease. There are two car parks for the pub, we chose the one being a bit more secluded from the main road. Traffic noise is not intrusive. The pub is what I would consider to be a traditional english pub, good selection of beers, ciders, I didn't look at spirits on offer as driving in the morning. Food was excellent and good value. What I would call Proper Food. The staff are very attentive and polite, even splitting the sticky toffee pudding and jam rolly polly, so we had half each. The pub has been under new management since Aug 2024 and our hosts made us feel very welcome. Already planning next visit to break up our journey to the Lakes in October. Looking forward to seeing you again.

Amazing. Had a wonderful lunch. Food was fresh, hot and plentiful. Both meals were extremely tasty and prices extremely reasonable. Atmosphere was relaxed and all the staff were attentive and polite. We would highly recommend to anyone of any age (we didnt have our teenage son with us but will be coming back as a family). Already message family and friends to tell them about the George and Dragon.

I went with my niece and 93 year old mum today for Sunday roast. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food very nice. We will return for sure.

very cute, quiet pub! Always lovely people behind the bar, and very good food. The ticket for our order was messed up and one off our add ons for a burger wasn't added, the lovely women serving us gave us an extra burger to make up for the mistake. Absolutely wasn't needed as the portions are always on the bigger side

Stopped for a proper pub lunch after a walk at tretham. A warm friendly welcome, great atmosphere, very clean and attention to detail with lovely table decor. Specials menu had lots to choose from and the meals came quickly with proper thick chunky pub chips, delicious. Fantastic value too, thank you 😊

Fantastic Sunday dinner today at a very good price of 2 for £16 and kids for £5.Everything on the plate was delicious! The girls who served us very very polite and friendly, would highly recommend the George and dragon 2nd time we have eaten here in a week both times were great.

Drove past many times and always wondered what it's like, last night popped in with my husband & daughter , was greeted by a lovely lady (assuming the owner or manager) it's a very cosy place with typical pub food, but it was really really nice and the price is honestly unbeatable, the roast dinners look lovely too, would recommend and we'll definitely be back , so we'll done to the new owners, very impressed

We booked the function room for a birthday party. It was a last minute arrangement however Ange and Andy were so helpful and very accommodating of our needs. The room was perfect, the food was amazing, especially the lasagne which had many compliments. The staff were really friendly and we had such a good night. I would definitely recommend using this venue. There was plenty of food and it was such good value. Thankyou for helping to ensure our night was so special.

We called here today for some lunch and were warmly greeted by both staff and locals alike. Dog friendly pub where our hound was well looked after with water, treats and a cuddle. The food was absolutely delicious with particular praise for the Moo Blue Pie with chips and peas with the whole two meals and drinks coming to a very reasonable £30. Would thoroughly recommend this beautiful establishment and staff. See you again soon we hope.

We had a great time using the upstairs room for the canoe club Xmas evening. Ang and the team looked after us well providing us with plenty of tasty food for our Xmas buffet, and quick service on the bar for drinks. The room upstairs is worth using for events and they even have a portable PA system you can use which Wa shandy for hosting our quiz

We were so impressed by the young lady running the bar and taking food orders. So welcoming, helpful and pleasant. The food was fresh and very tasty.

Sorry but not impressed with the Sunday lunch, as far as I could tell all frozen produce. Service was good and the pub was clean and inviting.

Pub was empty , very clean , toilets spotless. Lunch was a disaster. A good choice but cold plates, warm food rather greasy . The gravy was nice .

Really lovely food beautiful typical old style pub staff very polite and friendly young girls serving couldn’t do anything wrong shall definitely call in again. Food is to die for had a large garlic bread hot dog couldn’t eat it all that big wife had fish chips she loved it followed by jam sponge and custard. Washed down with a nice pint of pedigree 5 star ⭐ to chief and all here.

What a change, The new landlord and landlady make, such a difference from the previous ones. They are more customer focused and want the pub to succeed

Travelling back from Stoke on Trent our grandson was hungry, saw the George and Dragon, from the outside looked a nice traditional pub/restaurant. Now bare in mind this I a Wednesday at 6pm. Outside was clean and well presented including nice flower boxes around an outside seating area. Inside a nice surprise of a traditional pub, makes a change. Greeted by the barman, pleasant chap. Bar well stocked and very clean. Ordered food and drinks, price for what we ordered was good value. Presentation of the food was good, quality was on par (in my opinion) equally to other pub food chains. We enjoyed it. Will certainly pop in again if passing. 7pm the pub was getting quite a few customers in for food and other just to enjoy a drink.

Went in early evening . Service awful .customers looking for bar staff to serve them . Landlord / landlady sat down drinking .no banter , no acknowledgment on entering or leaving .

Visited at lunch time. Very quiet quiet and so little atmosphere. Very pleasant lady server. Food was decent, soup tasted home made. Sandwich was just okay because the bread didn't feel fresh. Beer was good. The eating area was clean and tidy and well laid out.

Was it the best ever Sunday lunch...no. Was it the best Sunday lunch for £7, yes! Remarkable value, highly recommended, nice staff and clearly the new management are doing a great job and need supporting. At this price why cook at home!

Popped in today for a Sunday dinner two dinners for £14 amazing value my husband and I both had the beef which was cooked beautifully. We've used this pub for many years now but stopped coming in as it was dirty and empty since new owners have took over the place is clean first thing I noticed when I walked in the clean fresh smell not like it was can definitely recommend a Sunday lunch here for that price it was fab

After I heard this place was back up and running by my dear friends Andy and Ange, I decided to go for a bite to eat try one of their Burgers 🍔 I can tell you that I thoroughly enjoyed it, and it’s great value for money too!! I cannot recommend The George enough for their food!! See you guys next week!

It' is a lovely pub landlord and landlady are a lovely couple running it nothing to much trouble every thing is spotless thay must have a fantastic cleaner in there now never seen it so clean food is spot on lovely and friendly bar staff has well

Popped in for a quick beer with my partner on the way to Stafford yesterday afternoon, after seeing the sign outside for 2 for £7 on bierra morretti, lad on the bar has the personality of a brick wall, rude, mumbling, face like a slapped ar*e and most of all told me I was wrong and charged me the full £11, got to the beer garden outside saw the sign that clearly states, 4-7 Friday is when the offer applies (my time of visiting). Place was empty for a Friday afternoon and no suprise there, won’t be returning.

the obese lady serving behind the bar has no personality and zero customer service or people skills....no hello no smile no goodbye thanks for your custom etc etc etc ....sadly I wont be giving you any repeat custom....I suggest a personality transplant 👎👎👎👎 no doubt it will be a Costa drive thru soon

We arrive last night for the first meeting of a new Kitcar cub, unfortunately the kitchen was out of operation due to a problem. However the lovely landlady apologised profusely and appeared half an hour later with two big bowls of chips had a huge plate of fresh bread and butter, all this free of charge. We are looking at having monthly meetings here I what a great first meeting as we were really looked after. Some of the Local guys had eaten and they had to watch as tuck into the best chips I've ever tasted – Barr none Enjoyed ourselves sat outside munching and a good chat with fellow kit owners who we have never met before. Thoroughly recommend the friendliness of this pub I'm definitely gonna have more of those chips! Thank you thank you thank you landlady

What a wonderful pub and land lady ( with her son helping ). A wonderful welcome for a weary biker on his way to London for the Dave day ride back to Barrow in Furness. Kitchen closed, but she offered me a superb ham sandwich and enjoyed a lovely couple of pints. I asked if there was anywhere near to camp , and she offered me a piece of grass in the carpark. Fabulous. Ment I could enjoy a second drink and relax. Thank you so much for a wonderful welcome. Good luck and all the very best. Strangely, we were welcomed by a sign saying "due to unforseen circumstances we are unable to serve food until further notice" I ordered coffee, but that was off limits too. It really was no wonder we were literally the only people in & the place was in the sole charge of one teenager.

I ordered the Hunters Chicken from the lunch menu and was told it was the large portion but when it arrived the small and large portion were identical. There was no sauce to speak of the chicken was dry, but the chips were hot

While staying nearby I stopped here for the evening for dinner. Food was great, as was the staff too. If I'm up this way again i'd gladly stop here! Would highly recommend it to others as well.

Called in for the first time ever for a light bite. One item was missing from our order and it was quickly brought to us at no extra charge and the portion was HUGE and very tasty. This was the staffs way of apologising for the oversight. All in all the food was really nice and the staff very helpful and friendly.

Popped in here on a bit of a whim last night while we were driving around looking for somewhere to get food and we were so glad we did!! Lovely pub, the meal was delicious (curry and a drink, which came with a lovely soft naan bread and a freshly cooked popadom, not one out of a packet from the supermarket!) for less that £12 each, really tasty. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and seemed to have a lovely rapport with the regulars and made us feel very welcome. The pub was lovely and clean and the food and beer great. What more can you want!! We will definitely be returning soon (hopefully on pie and steak nights!!) Anna

Very enjoyable experience both food and drinks enjoyable

We were shocked. Having lived in the area all my life never been in the pub but wanted to. Today sadly we did. The Pepsi glass was filthy, I had another which was no different. The gin and lemonade wasn't drinkable as again dirty glass. I had a bottle of low alcohol beer asked for a glass,sat down and then realised you couldn't see through it, disgusting Near £12 for the privilege. I wouldn't think the place had been hoovered for a few days. Grubby is an understatement. Chairs split/ worn. Don't be fooled by the kerb appeal. We won't be back. Dick Turpin had a mask ! Avoid.

I went in mid-afternoon for a birthday meal, the place was clean and had a nice atmosphere. Staff were very friendly and attentive throughout entry, during the meal and on exit. The toilets are nice and clean. We had drinks on entry and were free to choose a table, staff greeted us and were always friendly and chatty and able to answer questions. We had one grill meal and one vegetarian meal and both were excellent and served nice and hot and well presented. Staff checked in through the meal and we ended up having puddings to which were also very nice. All in all wonderful visit and would definitely go again!

Food was definitely microwaved and salad was not fresh. Ordered macaroni cheese and undeniably from a packet and clearly never seen an oven by the dish it was served in and the temperature. Shame nice people chef Mic let them down.

The food was quite good.The youth who took our order, not so good. The meal deal was actually wrongly calculated, that added approximately 6 quid, but given how long and difficult it was to order, was just not worth making a faff about...

Lovely food and great service. Attended as a group of 8 this evening and the food all arrived together, all delicious and we have departed with full belly and big smiles. Great value for money and staff very welcoming and professional. Free parking and spaces available. Outside area available. Will most definitely return.
