The outside of Aston Marina was well presented with lovely views of the docked boats. We were greeted warmly by staff entering and they kindly made accommodations for one of our party members with hearing loss, sitting us at a quieter table and turning the music down lower. The food was outstanding (both main and desserts) and I imagine a return visit soon. Couldn't fault it.

Living in Stone this place on doorstep for a drink a cuppa or maybe food. Visited just the other day for coffee and a chat. Bar area was full of primarily ladies having a catch up which was great to see. All had got drinks. Ordered 2 coffees Americana and cappuccino. Waited 12 minutes ish. Drinks came Americana was a lovely cup of coffee but cappuccino wasn’t a cappuccino see pics below Bar staff barista needs training clearly. Up the anti please as there’s certainly by far better coffee in the town cheaper I think too and atmosphere buzzing. Good luck 🤞🏻

Had a lovely business lunch with some colleagues from Manchester. I had the fishcake which was excellent and more substantial than I would have expected from the menu. Nice glass of wine. Not cheap but reasonable. 4 lunches with wine under £100 (they tapped to pay, that's all I know)

We have previously had breakfast here which was lovely so booked for a birthday celebration Sunday lunch, 9 people in total. Quite disappointed overall, roast potatoes were rock hard and very difficult to cut into, fresh potatoes were sent to the table but majority of people had already finished eating their meal when they arrived. Also had a coeliac in the family, very impressed with how many gluten free choices were available, however when we ordered one from the specials menu which was labelled as gluten free the waitress said it wasn't and was an error...thank goodness the waitress was on the ball as if the coeliac had ordered and eaten this she would have been extremely ill.

Complete disappointment. Have dined here before before but not returning. Only eat fish so had been looking forward to having the lemon sole. Meal arrived, cold and tasteless. Fish served on top on a spoonful of leeks with pureed green matter that I think were peas and a white sauce that was tasteless. My husbands meal of coq au vin pie faired no better. Very dry pastry, had to send out a search for the chicken, and gravy too salty. My husband obviously got my seasoning to accompany his hard undercooked chips. Really expect better. We had been looking forward to our night out all week, so gutted. Staff very young and inexperienced. We were asked how are meal was and made some comments expecting this to be escalated or the restaurant manager to come to our table. Sadly the only response was for our waiter to point at us as we ate as he obviously shared our complaint with other waiters/ waitresses who also looked our way and then laughed. Cannot recommend.

I had a lovely meal here with friends. It's a great location with views over open fields, the canal and basin. Lots of free parking and I saw people walking dogs in the surroundings. We all had the yellow Thai veg curry with chicken as an additional item. Served with a veg soring roll, rice and vegetable crackers (think quavers). It was lovely. Sweet potato, new baby potatoes, carrots is a spicy but not too hot sauce. For desserts 2 of us had the warm pecan and chocolate tart and another had the orange panna cotta. This was off the 2 courses for £20 menu with an extra £3 for the chicken. Service good. Outside eating options including glass and wood spheres.

My daughter booked a table for her and a friend and was told they had to get up and move to the bar after seating for 1 and half hours. Only 16 years of age be told to go to the bar?

Cruising on our narrowboat we checked into Aston as visitors for three nights. Can’t say enough good things about this marina. Nick and Sandra in the mooring office are personable, capable and professional. We had dinner at the 26 Restaurant which was beyond good. Laundry, Elsan and other facilities are clean and all in good working order. Tesco deliveries come right to the parking lot. Diesel, pumpout and other services all on tap. Look forward to a return visit.

Spent a really lovely evening here. Enjoyed an early evening Sunday roast. They managed to offer us a table as walk-ins. Service from start to finish was excellent. Atmosphere lovely. Food delicious. Looking forward to returning again in the summer to enjoy the canal views.

Week day lunch for four. Food was wonderful. Great menu choice. Staff were friendly, warm and helpful. The reason I’ve given service four not five stars is due to it being a little slow. Took a while to bring initial drinks and to clear plates between courses.

This is a super place for a relaxing evening out. The staff are superb, the setting is lovely and the food is excellent: the menu is varied and all food is locally sourced, beautifully cooked and presented. A delightful place to be. Our second visit and we shall return.

Dropped in for dinner on a Tuesday evening- had not booked but this was no problem and we were seated immediately. Water was brought to our table then our drinks order was taken. We ordered our meals from the Set Menu which offers Good value for money. The Service was attentive throughout without being overbearing- We shall be back!

Beautiful place, fantastic view of the marina. Dining pods are a lovely experience, very intimate and special. Nice to just go for a drink at the canal side. Purpose built for weddings and other events, the Boat House is very cleverly designed with a room for bridal parties to keep out of the way if groom and guests. I've been coming here since there was only a little cafe and a canal shop. The shop is missed, but the Marina is still one of my favourite places. Updated: still love Aston Marina. We hired a pod for a family birthday meal. The pods are brilliant, we saw an amazing sunset and pink skies from the comfort of our warm pod. We had Alexa to provide our music, a fan heater to keep us warm and we were offered blankets if we needed them. Our host, Millie, couldn't have been more helpful and nothing was too much trouble for her. We even had a buzzer to let her know if we needed anything so she didn't have to disturb us. The food was beautifully presented and very tasty, my only recommendation would be to order extra veggies for those with big appetites. Highest recommendation from me again.

Came to Aston Marina on Saturday for a nice celebratory meal with my family but we were very upset with the service we recieved. When we were sat down it was seemingly okay but then no one took our drinks order for around 20 minutes, which I let go. Then a young woman who I'm assuming is a manager refused to acknowledge us and was incredibly rude. Food was okay but poor service left us unhappy with the price we paid - won't be returning. It felt like a pain to order anything so we left before ordering dessert which was a shame as we were very excited.

Nice restaurant, slightly off the beaten track. Sunday evening visit, and selected Sunday dinner. Plenty of beef, but limited vegetables given. I assume that was because they were running low, which was a little disappointing, but the staff did give free extra vegetables when we asked. Nice place, worth a visit.

I visited the Aston Marina for the Black Tie Event at Xmas. The venue was decorated festive and on arrival you were handed a drink and there was a pianist playing he even asked us for a request. The food was nice, pretty much as expected on these types of events, the starters were not great but the main was fine and also the pudding. The atmosphere was brilliant for our work Xmas do, everyone dressed up, gentleman in tux and women in ballgowns. I would consider going again next year!

Recently attended a works Christmas gathering in the hideaway at Aston Marina, We had a buffet, soup was tasteless, everyone was reaching for the salt and pepper to improve it, the rest of the buffet was nothing special and looked thrown together. There is no bar in the room so getting a drink was difficult and most people just ended up with a glass of water from the jugs on the table. Not the best experience!

A couple of us had the turkey dinner, not good. I'm sure the turkey was from a preformed peice of meat.

We arrived for Sunday Lunch,on the worst weather day ever We were in a pod, the poor waiters, deliver the lunch in rain and wind. They were brilliant,food hot,Customer service Great Will go again .

We booked a private outdoor pod for a birthday celebration. The staff were really accommodating and lovely. The food was hot and some of the best food I’ve had! We loved the private pod and the ambience was great! Entire experience was fantastic! Would certainly come again!

Went for a special occasion with family and booked a ‘pod’ hoping for a lovely treat. Arrived in the bar and there were 4/5 girls serving. Asked one of the girls for an orange and lemonade and she pulled a disgusted face(?!) you’d have thought we’d asked for a 8am pina colada in a country pub. The drink served did not taste right so returned- the girls looked clueless on what to do all pulling faces at each other, testing my drink, then saying it was actually fine. Got a new drink and that was better. It was a thoroughly odd experience with inexperienced staff. The customer service did not improve from that point on. Had to ask if we could go through to the ‘pod’ and then during our meal had to keep returning to the main building to ask for service/ order taking/chase for condiments etc. The waitresses all looked sullen (with the exception of one) and there was no standard check in ‘everything ok’ We were left to our own devices pretty much which I think may have been due to us being the only ones outside. The manager was nice and apologised that I had to keep coming in, but then didn’t do anything about it. There needs to be someone in charge and mature (age or attitude) behind the bar and the service needs looking at. A real shame and we are not a family that ever complains but this was very disappointing.

I've always loved food at Aston Marina. The staff are lovely. The food is always perfect and the wine is delicious. 5 out of 5 for me!

Breakfast, perfect , 1 Big Breakfast , 1 smaller breakfast , 2 pots 9f Lem9n and ginger tea . Professionally served and didnt wait long, the service was excellent and reasonably priced. Decor and ambience lovely and a nice place to wander afterwards. Definately a good place to go , 5 stars.

Excellent night at Aston Marina. The food was delicious, a big fire roaring, there was a live pianist who took requests & played some amazing songs. The primitivo wine was perfect, we tried the venison, duck, pie & schnitzel and all were delicious. An excellent evening out with great service, delicious food & a lovely ambience.

To make this clear: this review is for The Potting Shed @ Aston Marina. This place is £65 to hire, it has the most uncomfortable seating I’ve ever encountered. Sack cloth flat cushions on narrow benches with “authentic shelving/decor” behind every seating place meaning you can’t sit up without banging your head/shoulder/spine. The food was pretty awful, absolutely not worthy of the price. A “Greek gyros” that was rubbery with a congealed sauce and 2 very small sticks of lamb burger, nothing fresh about it. My passion fruit mess was full of gritty seeds and tiny with no effort made with presentation whatsoever. My decaff coffee was lovely. Really disappointed for the high prices, ate a really tasty similar meal in Stafford Hospital Canteen recently for less than 1/4 of the price!

Atmosphere is lively the staff are friendly but not attentive. The food, no! Asked for a rear steak and got a medium to well done one. Staff did not care. Would I recommend, not sure? For a table of 11 I would have expected better service.

We had a private dinning event in the Hideaway at Aston Marina, there were 17 of us for my husbands 60th birthday, everything was excellent from the booking to the event itself. Food was delicious, service was, efficient, accommodating and friendly, I felt it was very good value. I would definitely recommend it.

I've been to Aston Marina a few times but this time the food was exceptional and I really enjoyed dinner. To start I had Kimchi Fritters, which came with a great spicy sauce, then for a main I enjoyed a perfectly cooked lemon sole, the best I have had in a long time. As always it's a lovely environment and the service is incredibly good.

The latest of many visits. Very pleasant, attentive service, comfortable seating and not as noisy as many places,.so it's possible to hold a decent conversation with your meal. Food is lovely, although portion sizes aren't all that big, we had plenty of room for dessert!

The food was excellent. The staff were very attentive, we were given a jug of water when we sat down at the table and when we had finished the jug a fresh one was brought to the table. Staff were very helpful in giving recommendations and checking our queries with the chef, mainly in regards to the gluten free food options. It was my birthday and we were brought a lovely surprise birthday plate over (chocolate writing, brownie and meringue), it was a very nice surprise and made the night feel special I would highly recommend Aston Marina and will definitely be returning

Venue was great staff were fantastic but the food was very disappointing. I Expected a lot more. The quality of the food seems to have gone downhill since my last visit.

Nice food but would've liked our main meals to have been warmer. Bit of a rip off too to be charged considerably extra for basics such as Yorkshire puddings, mashed potato and cauliflower cheese etc. on a Sunday roast. Lovely place on the marina with great views and a nice atmosphere inside. Our server was a delightful young lady but our wait of around 45 minutes from placing our order was too long, we thought. Afraid we won't be going back as there are many places closer to home which are much better value for money and serve hot food with all the basics included in the price.

Used the take away menu due to restrictions. Minted lamb was excellent. Well done No. 26. Another excellent meal. Been in the new? Hideaway today. Very nice.

Great Sunday lunch in a dome by the water.

11 for Sunday lunch 23/6/24 at 1400hrs. Pre booked our order which was a positive thing for us and Aston Marina. This is the 3rd time we have eaten at this fabulous place, it’s equally distance for us in Worcester and family in Blackpool. The service and food is exceptional. Very personal when staff can name the people who’s food it is for on serving. Main courses, deserts, Mocktails and coffee. The environment is lovely. A great way to bring family together for a key note birthday of mine Highly recommended

Lovely place met with a group of 10 for birthday celebrations ordered meals and 2 were missing when brought out . Took a while to bring missing meals so most finished eating before they had there meal. Offered the 2 people a free drink but would of been nice to eat together .

Father’s Day Lunch with our daughter . Lovely welcome , seating very nice . Offered drinks we had rose and a beer . Starters Salmon , prawns salad , chicken coronation with salad, we all had the roast beef as mains . And rum babas , and meringue deserts . Coffees served outside by the marina lovely day . All staff so welcoming and attentive . Food was excellent .Father’s day menu was brilliant.

Great afternoon out of sunny stoke looking forward to going again

Went for dinner to celebrate partners birthday (restaurant not aware) me and my partner met for the 1st time at Aston marina and always said we will come for a meal one day as we both had heard amazing things about the food. We have also discussed getting married here. With the decor being very stylish and modern as we walked in, I was expecting good things. I must say I was very disappointed, I had the burger and my partner had the pie, this was from the summer menu. My partner was underwhelmed with her meal however it was satisfactory, nothing special. My meal was very poorly cooked, burger patty was dry, bun over toasted which made it dry, together with crispy bacon made for a very dry mouthful. The fries that came with the meal looked like they came from the bottom of the bag, also over cooked to the point of there being no potato left inside. We also had a side of onion rings or should I say a side of rings.....no onion to be found! The service we received was sub par, nobody came to as if our meal was OK or ask if we needed anymore drinks. As compensation for my poor meal the onion rings were removed from the bill, £4.50 from a bill that was £50+ I would have expected a 20% reduction to the bill under the circumstances. We only had mains and was planning on desserts but due to the poor main decided not too. Not a great impression, it has put us off getting married here too.

A fantastic service and lovely restaurant with amazing food. All the staff who were working yesterday morning were so accommodating, kind and considerate of my dietary restriction, even going as far as to remove allergens from the drink-making environment for me! I've never felt so taken care of or so normal at a restaurant since my dietary restriction. They have great gluten free options as well, I still had a full breakfast that was delicious.

Last night we celebrated my husband’s 50th in the hideaway, we had invited 50 people. Fabulous service from the moment I enquired to the actual evening. Special mention to Ash and Abbey who were amazing, highly recommend Aston marina.

We have recently got married at Aston Marina, We cant thank Abby, Ash, Rob and Ben enough for the day they given us. Nothing was too much and always there with a smile on there face. The perfect day at the perfect venue, We would recommend this place for anyone who wants a special day.
