The best restaurants in Lichfield West Midlands

WOW! Met friends for lunch and fell in love with The Barn. Cosy atmosphere, polite and thoughtful staff and THE FOOD! We all were super impressed - I had the halloumi breakfast which was absolutely scrumptious! Loved the chilli jam and pesto drizzle that it came with. Will be back!

Visited today for Sunday lunch and had the most beautiful cooked Sunday roast. The full trimmings and delicious gravy! Highly recommend. Lovely staff and welcoming environment.

Stopped here for a Latte during our walk. Unfortunately it was made with instant coffee. We had a small size which was tiny. Two mouthfuls and it was gone and at £2.50 expensive. For that money you can get a decent size cup and a real latte. It is a shame because this is a nice place, but would go to the other cafe next time.

I normally like to go to an independent for coffee/tea as I prefer to support them. Having said that because my friend and I were right by here we called on Friday for coffees and snacks and very good! Slick friendly staff, no having to wait - all brought to table and this is now my go-to in Lichfield!

It was a good venue for little kids - but customer service is poor. They charged another tables bill to my card and have ignored all my emails for a refund. Wouldn’t recommend this place for this reason

Needed a decent cup of tea and decided to try this place In preference to one of the chains. Sat at the street table and ordered tea and a cappuccino. Didn't have to wait too long and host was very friendly. My wife said the tea was excellent and my coffee was beautiful. Definitely worth a look but, be aware it is cash only, no cards.

Unfortunately the food left a lot to be desired- would not recommend. The cauliflower cheese was still frozen- when we told this to the staff, we only got an ‘oh no’ comment. Wouldn’t waste your time on a visit.

My order consisted of two kebabs, a sausage, and chips. Initially, the proprietor failed to include the sausage in the total. After the order was being assembled, she realized her mistake and requested payment. However, she then insisted on cash due to their £5 minimum card spend policy. When I explained I had no cash and that the error was not mine, she proceeded to process a card payment, but without informing me, she increased the amount charged. Critically, she deliberately positioned the card machine to prevent me from seeing the updated total. This deceptive action was only revealed when I reviewed my bank statement at home. This level of dishonesty is appalling and has resulted in the permanent loss of my patronage. With ample alternatives in the area, I strongly advise others to consider their options.

A difficult review to write as I have really rated this place. .I have been vegetarian for 30 years and never eaten any meat. I ordered a vegetarian yuk sung by phone and they repeated the order back to me . I ate over half and thought there was vegetarian meat in it which I was pleased about as it wasn't like usual yuk sung with crispy noddles etc . I suddenly felt like maybe I should check .. as it had a slight chicken taste ( vegetarian meat is so good now , it’s hard to know). I called them and they said no there were only vegetable in it .. I told them categorically that there was meat In it. They came back to check and the lady was quite snappy and said I had ate the curry . My husband had had the curry ( with chicken it) and this was not curry . She slapped £7 in my hands and walked off … no apology. I spent alll the night feeling extremely sick. It is a shame as to be honest I have always enjoyed this place in the place, non greasy, nice flavours

Astronomical prices! I called for a pint, only cider on was Somersby, it cost me £4.85 Dreadful place. No damn wonder it was empty, never again. Avoid, Wetherspoons is next door.

First time visit and so impressed. Lovely varied menu. Had chicken sandwich and veg sandwich followed by cream tea and Victoria sponge. All excellent and one of the best cream teas we have had for many months. (All served in proper cups and saucers too) Menu looks expensive but high quality and big portions make it good value. An excellent afternoon treat and we will return.

We waited an hour for 3 meals and one was wrong. Every time we go in there the waiting time is ridiculous and you can hear people complaining. My advice to the owner do not take orders without making it clear your waiting time. We would only go back for a drink as you dont have to wait and your less likely to get the order wrong.

This was the best place to come to in our opinion for breakfast/brunch, we have been here quite a few times always welcoming, staff were soo nice, food came out quick and was beautiful and got a great size portion, for the money was absolutely spot on would highly recommend this place 👌

Nice food but came to the bill and they had added £6.50 for the three poppadoms and sauces which i presumed would b free as we had ordered 4 meals- shame really not about the money
