We waited an hour for 3 meals and one was wrong. Every time we go in there the waiting time is ridiculous and you can hear people complaining. My advice to the owner do not take orders without making it clear your waiting time. We would only go back for a drink as you dont have to wait and your less likely to get the order wrong.

I love this place but very disappointed today. Waited nearly an hour for food - didn't mind as they were busy. Then my poached eggs on toast arrived - solid yolk and very dry. Very disappointed

Warm friendly service , excellent value for money , great coffee and cake selection. Where else can you get delicious egg and avocado on toast for less than £6! We stopped off en route home along the A38. What a find . Absolutely recommend this cafe . They had fresh Kale homemade soup and quiches on the menu and all sorts of looney home made foods . Plenty of space , speedy service and smiles all around . It was populated with friendly locals enjoying breakfast . Easy to park nearby as well.

We arrived ordered coffee and a full English breakfast. Coffee arrived quickly however we waited 35 minutes for the food. We asked if we had been forgotten and were told we had come at a very busy time. The breakfast arrived and it looked very underwhelming for the price we paid. The bacon was overcooked and like cardboard, sausages were cold and tasteless, the poached egg was hard and cold. Overall a very disappointing experience all round. Service was terrible and the food was terrible and totally overpriced. I would never recommend this place.

On a miserable December morning The Bank was warm and cosy with tasteful Christmas decorations. Coffee and cake was great and at a very reasonable price: the cheapest coffees we've had for ages. I was surprised to read other less complimentary reviews. We'll be back again.

Been coming here every weekend for a couple of months. Generally myself and my wife really like it here but there's a few issues now we've been quite a number of times. 1. Overcrowded. Cyclists come along - a good 30 plus and they all jam inside to order. It's a very small place with only about 11 tables, so having this many people indoors at once is both a health and safety issue (I imagine their insurance won't cover them and it's likely against fire risk assessments), but it also means it's a very noisy environment as they're all talking and not a pleasant experience. Can't even hear my daughter talking. Not a fan of cyclists, we used to go to Fradley Junction a lot but don't bother as it's overrun by cyclists, can never get a table at the Laughing Duck, at the Swan or at the other cafe. It never used to be that bad. 2. Dogs. I think it's wrong that dogs can be indoors where food is served. Out of the 11 tables I'd say 5 of them have a dog, some even come in with 2 or more dogs. On the sofas once they had 3 dogs! We were there a couple weeks ago and a dog shook itself nearby and hairs went on my food. Disgusting. It also smells a lot in there especially around the sofas, of dogs. We sat on the sofa the once and it was covered in dog hairs. Disgusting. 3. Missing a few tricks. Their cake selection is quite limited. They include a tiny piece of a brownie with each coffee which is great, but they don't even sell brownies on their own! I thought when we had our first drink and it was included it was a 'taster' and they'd sell them on their own, but bizarrely they don't. 4. Rude people. Not sure if it's an Alrewas thing, but why do people come in and then leave the door wide open? Loads do it - kids, Cyclists, normal customers. It's getting cold - someone from our table has to keep getting up to close the door as bizarrely nobody else bothers, at all. Even the staff leave it open when they go outside and come back in. That being said, it's a great cafe, perhaps very busy as it's the only one in Alrewas, but if they sorted a few things it could be so much better. If there was another cafe though I'd probably go there instead.

I had the full English which was cooked nicely, but went cold quite quickly as the door kept being opened. Making food and body cold! There were quite a lot of cherry tomatoes and baked beans. These could have been reduced and the addition of some mushrooms would have been welcome.Very thick toast, so more butter was needed, but not offered. Coffee not as good as MacDonalds, but drinkable. Think because the locals have no comparisons, this place is popular.Needs tweaking, but would go again.

£4.50 for the worlds smallest bacon and sausage sandwich to take out served by an unengaging lady who looked like she was sucking a lemon. So small it didn't really need cutting in half. The bacon and sausage maybe from the local butcher but other local alternatives use the same and are far cheaper for a far larger sandwich. And they can smile instead of making a customer feel like they're an inconvenience. Get the feeling this establishment is only for a certain village clique.

Went here a few days ago and I was disappointed. I had a toasted cheese sandwich, which was just 2 slices of barely toasted bread, not a true toasted at all. It was not hot, and the accompanying salad consisted of 2 cherry tomatoes, surely they could stretch to a few salad leaves as well. The cafe itself is pleasant but maybe needs a little background music. Also the toilet seat is loose.Could definitely do better

First Time but it wont be the last. Came her with my parents for a treat and what a treat it was. Vegan food clearly available and highlighted on the main menu board. The coffee was freshly ground and strong! I had the Mac-No-Cheese with to door-step slices of brown bread & vegan spread - delicious indeed.

Really slow service, food brought to the table with no cutlery ( which we had to ask for) and then the soup when it turned up was lukewarm. Kitchen clearly too small to cope. Attitude not great when we complained

This is such a lovely place, popular especially with walkers and cyclists. The food is delicious, as is the tea and coffee. The atmosphere is very welcoming. The staff are great. And the look of the place, the crocks, the way the food is served is all just spot on. Our grandson especially loved his apple juice drink served in a lightbulb glass!

This is a clean and friendly village cafe with good, snack type food. I had the cheese scone which was soft and fluffy and comes with cream cheese and chutney which was lovely. My wife thought the tea cake was a little dry however. They do gluten free toast and soft /hot drinks and there is a small arts / gift section.

On previous visits to this lovely village we commented that there should be a coffee shop. Well there is now and it’s great. Lovely interior decor. Plenty of seating inside and out. Super friendly staff. We had popcorn latte, coffee, smoothie, carrot cake and coffee cake. Pity we’re only passing through again on the boat because this is s favourite.
