Lovely place so warm and welcoming, no faults with this pub

Booked a table which was waiting for us when we arrived and we received a very warm welcome. When the steaks arrived, they had not been cooked as requested and the waitress took the steaks away, then the chef or manager came out to apologise. We did not have to wait for long for our new steaks to arrive and this time they were perfect. All the staff at the pub are lovely and we will certainly be returning.

First time coming for a meal at the star can say from start to finish was absolutely stunning . the pub is clean staff are incredibly polite and well dressed the food ..... well the food was stunning value for money was incredible for the quality of food who ever was on the grill on Sunday 26th Jan certainly knew exactly how to use it my steak was cooked to perfection without a doubt from start to finish ember inns you should be proud of you team here. they have done you proud but to the front of house kitchen and cleaning team thank you for an incredible visit we will be seeing you again very soon !

Have had a lovely day at The Star with Kendall & Wall (a local charity working to combat loneliness and isolation amongst house bound, disabled and any age people). The Star accommodated our party of 18 people really well by providing board games and staff to support the volunteers. The food wa delicious and nothing was too much trouble for the staff. Thank you for a great day 😀😀

I went to the Star in Burntwood, it was pleasant and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The prices were very competitive, but as I was able to use a 50% voucher, it was super value. The only things that prevented you getting 10/10 were 1) I burnt my mouth on the lasagne 2) the toilets were a little in need of some TLC Ooh, I forgot to mention the wonderful selection of ales :-)

Great atmosphere. Come often and recommend to anyone for and occasional. Great good, cold beer and reasonable prices. Rachel does keep a good eye on everything and assured top quality service with all traff.

I came with three friends, one of whom had specific dietary requirements. He was catered for with such care it was most pleasant … he had the sea bass fillets and said it was very very good The ultimate burger was very good with two lovely well cooked patties The 12oz ribeye was excellent and cooked to perfection The gammon was great and eggs were perfect We came and had the 40% voucher and was very good value … would recommend strongly. The pub was busy but not overly and the car park is large with plenty of spaces

Regulars and keep coming back. Amazing service, tasty food and great atmosphere. Highly recommend and coming back soon ,sunday roast to die for. All staff really attentive especially Rachel always looking out for us and making it special.

Not sure really 😕 wouldn't advise you drive 50 miles for a meet up point meal 🤔 food was really blahhh (Cardboard Frozen warmed up in Microwave kind of Festive Menu and it wasn't even busy). Staff seemed really nice and pleasant. We walked in through the Main Bar entrance, and the locals went quiet 😬 .. oh hum I'm sure it's a fab place for the Locals

I cannot thank the Star team enough. They put their Christmas Day on hold to make ours fantastic. We had a slight technical issue with booking and it had seemed the booking had not gone through properly.. However when I showed the booking reference a week before this was not a problem and Rachel was very accomadating and apologetic. The food and service were top class including a great pint of Timmothy Taylor. The pub had been festively decorated and a personalised Xmas card on the table which made the family experience one to cherish and remember. BIG THANK YOU , It was amazing.. The Wright Family

Visited today with a friend and we had booked which was good as it was very busy. Initially our table was near the entrance which was cold with people going in and out. We asked to move which was no problem and moved further inside. We expected to be able to choose from the usual menu only, but there was a Christmas meal available, so a bonus. We all had this and thoroughly enjoyed it, well presented and cooked,no processed turkey! Very tender with all the trimmings etc. staff were friendly and efficient considering how busy, nothing was too much trouble. There is always a warm and comfy atmosphere here.

Enjoyed the festive menu as part of a group outing. We were made really welcome and the food and service were excellent.

Visited on Saturday for the breakfast with Santa event. All the family had a wonderful time. The food was lovely. A big thanks to all the staff who were great with the kids and so friendly/ helpful. The atmosphere got us in the Christmas mood. Thanks very much :)

Looking very tired.. wallpaper coming off where table rubbed against wall. Picture been down at least a year ago, still showing as filler around it. Always cold. Staff pleasant enough.

Freezing cold in there. The wind was gusting through the windows!! Food was not worth money at all !!!! Liquor coffees were served without liquor when they eventually got to us !!!!! Absolutely awful

This is the second time I've visited for a sunday lunch the first time food was cold .so coming again to give benefit of doubt when ordering we told the staff about our last visit and he apologised the manager i think and said he would make a note our meals came out waitress was using her long sleeved top to hold the plate witch were hot very unprofessional and tea towel would have looked better when had the meals food was Luke warm gravy was cold the waitress tuck it away came back no warmer but didn't won't to say again she was the only 1 working on the floor two other staff one that looked like a manager didn't leave the bar there were dirty plate and glasses on a number of tables .no one seen to be making sure the pub was looked after I'm not one to write a review as I work in hospitality but I feel that I had to make people aware of no customer service at all

First time here and even though it was fireworks night and the place was very busy, we didn't wait long for our food, which was very nice and good value for money, we were served quickly at the bar and the staff were very attentive. Highly recommended.

Meal was not appealing at all ordered a surf and turf however when I got it the tomato had seen better days the onion ring was a piece of onion no resemblance at all, then to top it all there was no prawns, after asking the staff were very dismissive wouldn't go again

Just moved into the area, this is a gem good food, beer and service is amazing. And a Camra pub more of these please. Something on the menu for everyone.

Loved the star hotel and enjoyed a lovely meal . Only thing I will say about it is it needs a bit of TLC as needs decorating , and the toilets need looking at and cleaning up . All the same I enjoyed our time in there .

I visit The Star Hotel each week to perform at its very enjoyable Open-Mic Night. The staff are very welcoming and friendly. The service is always great, and the atmosphere is relaxed.

Incredible atmosphere with an open mic night full of variety. Friendly bar staff, Nico and Baz always make an effort to greet us. Food is delicious with prompt service. Thoroughly recommended

No steak or pies available, which didn't affect my party but still not great on a Monday night. Food we had was tasty and the staff attentive and friendly. Bit quiet but think that was the day of the week.

We normally go into Lichfield to met our friends, but last twice,felt very much rushing you to finish and go as they want the table. Massive thanks to Nico, Baz and Jasmine for making our table of 8 feel so stand out. A birthday celebration for a friend with food, drinks and service all aligning to create the 'event' we wanted. The Sea Bass was stunning and nothing but empty plates all round. The team effort in such a busy environment ensured we didn't feel remotely rushed or left wanting. Try the HPA by the pint and the Merlot by the bottle! Well worth the visit...thanks for a lovely evening!

The Star could be a lovely pub. Its staff are wonderful, the locals are nice, the drinks are good. But the interior is absolutely awful, torn seats, horrid carpets, leaking ceilings, and toilets. Ember Inns should be ashamed, letting a pub get in this state. It's not fit for purpose. Yet, with some support, it could be brilliant. The staff aren't to blame. They do the best with what they have. Investment is desperately needed...are board members listening?

Good open mic every Tuesday evening

We didn't eat this time but we had a friendly welcome and a very layed back atmoshere, a nice couple of pints hassle free in the beer garden. I ate here a while back and the food was great.

I went for Sunday lunch with my distinguished gentlemen (the mandem). The food was simply wonderful. The gammon had a delightfully salty note that lingered on the tongue, which left me reeling for more. The stuffing wrapped in bacon was a novel ideal which I very much enjoyed. Abi and Luke were very hospitable, and had top banter. 10/10 would go back.

Popped in today for a lunchtime drink after a couple of days away. The welcome from Luke and Rachael was professional, warm and genuine. All the team at the Star are welcoming and go above and beyond other pubs in the group. The Sunday dinners look good too😋

After my last experience I was a little reluctant to dine there again but we decided to give it another try and I am happy to say we all absolutely loved the meal and the atmosphere, the staff are really nice and welcoming I would definitely recommend the star and will go again very soon

The star is a great pub. Warm and friendly. Great food for a M&B pub. New staff means better service. A lot more professional. Took my family for Sunday lunch and was not disappointed. Will definitely be back. Plus dogs are welcome in the bar.

We visited The Star last night for a nice drink in the beer garden whilst the sun was still shining. After having a few beers and seeing other people ordering food which looked pretty good we decided to have a meal . Me and my partner both decided on a mixed grill and we were not disappointed. The food arrived quickly and everything was cooked to perfection. We will definitely be going back for more.The service was brilliant and can't be faulted. Well done guys 👍🏻

I went here for my step dad's birthday the staff are very kind and polite the food is very good for the price nice size portions and great service. I have no complaints about the star its worth a visit qnd then your hooked.

Popped in for lunch today and it was a new menu since my last visit. There was lots of variety and it was hard to choose. I went for the open steak sandwich and Cajun fries and it was absolutely delicious.

Waited 45 mins and complained before food arrived. It was lukewarm. Drinks order was wrong came with ice in spite of twice being told we did not want.

The place needs painting, cleaning and repairing. Walls are scratched, in one place the ceiling is dirty, one of the bench seats has the leather cover torn apart, radiators are dirty. It was lovely when they had the renovation years back, but they need to take care of a lot of things now. Food is ok. Lovely staff though.
